Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter.

A/N: So I recently found an old notebook from like ten years ago that had cringy fanfiction written down in it, before I knew what fanfiction was. I found a story in it that was surprisingly not terrible and decided to revamp and write it. Hope you like it! Xx HogwartsPrincess89

Her forearm burned and she hissed at the sudden pain. She should have expected this, but it had thrown her completely off guard. She watched from the stands with baited breath, but nothing was happening. All she could see was the misted maze and the teachers patrolling it. She slipped away from her mother with a muttered excuse of needing to use the bathroom and cloaked herself in invisibility once she was out of sight of the crowd.

She slipped silently across the grass and ambled up beside the wizened Headmaster. "Professor, it's me. He's back." Dumbledore paled but before he could respond Harry appeared in front of them, clutching Cedric's lifeless body and the Triwizard cup. Her eyes widened and she froze at the sight. Dumbledore grabbed the air around him and clutched her arm.

"Meet me in the hospital wing after." He hissed frantically before turning his attention to Harry. She threw off the invisibility and made her way back to her mother and brother.

"Ginny! Thank heavens, I was so worried." Her mother looked her over frantically, looking for injuries. Ginny clamped her hand on Molly's arm and her mother's gaze shot to meet hers.

"He's back." She murmured, ignoring her brother's stare. Molly paled. "It's me." Ginny said softly, smiling gently. She was sad but determined. "I have to go. But I'll be alright. Trust me." She whispered, willing her mother to not fight her on this. Molly Weasley nodded.

"Go. I'll take care of your brother."

Bill startled. "What?" Was all he managed before the world went black. Ginny raised an eyebrow at her mother.

"He's a curse breaker and incredibly smart. We couldn't have him poking around. I only obliviated him, he'll be fine." She stroked her eldest's soft ginger hair as he began to wake. She turned to her only daughter, distraught but trying desperately not to show it. "Be careful, Ginevra." It was a plea and fortification. Ginny gave a sharp nod and disappeared once more into the night.

She grinned as she hard Bill waking up. "Mum? Why am I on your lap? Where's Gin-Gin?" She giggled as Molly made some excuse that disappeared on the wind.

She climbed slowly through the castle and reached the hospital wing which held a very distraught Harry Potter, a large shaggy Grim look-a-like, a stern but kindly Matron, and the Headmaster. At the sight of her, Dumbledore shooed Madame Pomfrey out and nodded to the dog.

She gave a start as it transformed into notorious mass murderer Sirius Black. He grinned at her and held up his hands in surrender. She smiled back but said nothing. Harry wasn't paying attention to any of them, he was watching but he seemed far away. She ripped her gaze from him to look at Dumbledore.

"So?" She asked him. He smiled sadly.

"He's back. It's time for you to act, Ginevra." Twice in one night. She sighed, knowing that's all most people would call her from now on. She looked again at Harry, he was like a magnet she couldn't resist. He was staring at her with wide-eyed curiosity now. She knew why Sirius would be in on it but she had no idea why Dumbledore thought it was a good idea to inform Harry. Especially if You-Know-Who could access his emotions, perhaps even his thoughts. She assumed he hadn't done either yet though, or there was no way Dumbledore would be so careless.

"Will you do it?" Dumbledore asked softly.

Ginny scoffed. "Would I be here if the answer to that was no? Besides, it's not like I have much choice. It's my destiny."

"You are young though." Sirius said, speaking for the first time. "So young."

"So is Harry. I have no more of a choice in the matter than he does." Dumbledore nodded and she held Sirius' gaze in challenge. He frowned but jerked his head in agreeance.

"I'm sorry." Harry interjected. "But would someone like to tell me what in Merlin's name is going on?" She had never heard him use the word before and it made her mouth quirk of its own volition.

"What does Ginny have to do with any of this?" She threw back her dark hood to reveal her appearance and Harry gasped. She frowned.

"I don't look that much different, do I?" She turned to Sirius who shrugged uncomfortably. That was a yes then. Her ginger hair had darkened to auburn and it was no longer straight but cascaded down her back in loose curls. Her brown eyes shone with something deeper, reminiscent of the twinkle behind Dumbledore's that actually signified power, and not a twinkle, in his eye. Ginny's lashes were dark with mascara and her lips were blood red.

Harry was getting more confused by the minute and was looking rapidly between the three of them. "Are you sure he should be here?" Ginny asked Dumbledore, jerking her head towards Harry.

"Yes. He could use your help. And knowing you're out there might make him jump into things less rashly." Ginny couldn't help the snort that escaped her lips and Harry glared at her. "Show him." Dumbledore commanded softly.

Ginny took a deep breath. Once she did this, there truly was no going back. She thought of her mother and the green underneath her skin, and stood taller. She would not let that be her family's fate. Slowly, she drew the dark sleeve of her robe back and closed her eyes as Harry let out a sharp hiss of betrayal.

She opened her eyes at the mark staring back at her, chaining her to him. Her eyes met Harry's and the hatred burning there took her breath away.

"Yes." She whispered. "I'm a Death Eater."
