Her head hurt. Really hurt. Everything was fuzzy and disconnected. She could hear a voice right next to her, but she couldn't quite make out what they were saying. Her head was throbbing too much to think. But, she needed to see what was going on.

Slowly, she opened her eyes, wincing as the rays of the sun far above caused her headache to get worse. Sitting up, she put a hand to the area of her head where the pain seemed to originate. When she touched the spot, she felt something matting her hair and coming off on her hand, something sticky and slightly wet. Pulling her hand away she looked down and gasped as she saw wet and half dried blood on her palm.

"Finally, you're awake!" The voice from earlier snapped.

She looked to its point of origin to see what she could only describe as a ghost. She could see right through him, but he was also visible. He had short golden brown hair, which was in a state of disarray, his brown eyes were currently looking down at her from his slightly elevated position, with a look of someone who was not the least bit pleased. His arms were folded over his chest as he frowned down at her.

"You reckless, little, idiot!" He snapped. "What the hell did you think you were going to accomplish?! You seriously-!"

"Who are you?"

She had asked the question before she could even stop to think. But, why had she asked that? This boy clearly seemed to know her, or at least knew why she had that wound on her head, so why did she feel the need to ask him that question? She tried to think of where they could have met, but she came up blank. But the attempt to remember this boy had caused her to realise another frightening fact. She couldn't remember anything.

The boy looked at her with a mixture of confusion and something she couldn't identify. "You don't recognise me?"

She shook her head. So he did know her. So, who was he? As she looked up at him, trying to find some kind of recognition, she could have sworn that she saw the barest hint of a smile cross his lips. Or, maybe it was just her imagination, as he floated down to her eye level and placed a gentle hand over the spot where her head was bleeding. His face showed nothing but worry and sadness to the girl in front of him.

"You must have hit your head harder than I thought." He sighed sadly. "I told you coming to this mountain was a foolish idea."

Light tilted her head at him in question. Seeing this he sighed and gave her a sad smile.

"I'm Kira, Light. I'm your older brother." He said.

The name 'Light' struck something inside her. Something deep down was shouting at her that 'yes that was her name'. She was frozen as Kira pulled her into a soft hug, a hand stroking her hair.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you." He apologised. "You really scared me when you tripped. When I saw you fall down that hole, I thought I was going to watch you die. And now, we're in this place." His grip tightened on her slightly. "But, don't worry, little sister. I'll protect you like I always have. Even if you don't remember me."
