A shit ton of people were arguing about the power balance between the two worlds. To stop the infighting, I'm going to post this story logic board.
- Ainz and Rimuru from the start are of equal power, with the exception of a few World Items. However, Rimuru grows stronger and stronger as the LN states over time, so this power balance may also change.
- Ainz and Rimuru's ranks in Tensei Slime are both Disaster-Class (S-Rank), more or less. Their respective levels in the New World/Yggdrasil is 100. However, keep in mind that even if Yggdrasil levels generally sums up one's power, it doesn't explicitly state one's stats.
- World Items are technically Ultimate Skill power level and will stay that way, minus a few points in its power level since they're not used in their original world.
- Single-use World Items would be like "disposable" Ultimate Skills in the Tensei Slime world.
- Overlord Tier Spells and Tensei Slime magic will intertwine with each other. The specifics would be elaborated in the future since the topic is so broad.
- Skills in Overlord would be considered as Extra Skills and below, with some more powerful ones resembling Unique Skills.
- All Skills one possesses in Tensei Slime would be put in the same category as "Skills" in the New World and Yggdrasil. Ultimate and Unique Skills would not be considered as World Items since they don't physically exist as an item. And since there is no class system for Yggdrasil's Skills, it will all be lumped into one concept.
- The fact that Ultimate Skills cannot be affected by Unique Skills or lower is an iron rule I would never break. However, this would work differently in the New World/Yggdrasil, as certain World Items and Skills would be able to affect it to a considerable extent. In short, they will be nerfed equally as the World Items are in the slimeverse.
- Regarding the Ultimate Skill nerf, considering how figures like Rimuru have so many of them and obtained them so easily, their effects in the Yggdrasil world will be less pronounced compared to World Items in the slimeverse.
- I'm not entirely sure how mana works exactly in Tensei Slime, but for the sake of simplicity, I decided to convert mana into magicules and vice versa. This topic may be subject to change, and if anyone has any opinions regarding the matter, I would like to hear it.
- Figures like Guy, Milim, The True Dragons, Chloe, etc. would still be considered the top of the food chain. Ruminas is a hot topic, so I may prevent her from fighting (with exception to what happened in Tensei Slime Vol. 11).
- Despite having those said characters easily take over the New World/Yggdrasil, there are some exceptions. Since Ainz's world is still based on some sort of "level" system, the cap level would be 100 and no more. That means anyone on par with Ainz or is stronger than him would have the same amount of power in the New World/Yggdrasil, and the only thing setting them apart is which "class" of fighter they are (ex: warrior, caster). However, power doesn't always mean everything, as the wits of the ones fighting and their advantages may help them win against hard-fought battles.
- An exception to the previously stated exception is that people who are, like, really powerful, (ex: Guy, Milim, any of the True Dragons, etc.) will get what I call a "bonus level cap", since their power is so great that it literally breaks the level cap of the world of Yggdrasil. I intend to make their levels around ?.
- Despite the Calamity-classes and higher get level ?, I intend the New World/Yggdrasil to automatically "nerf" them to some extent, seeing them as game breakers like how the slime world sees World Items as game breakers. They still would be extremely powerful despite the nerfs, however, as they still can level nations with one swoop.
- Naming monsters in Tensei Slime would only be exclusive to monsters that originally exist in the Tensei Slime world. Other monsters do not apply.
- Any Skill-canceling abilities will work on World Items in the Slime verse but not in the New World/Yggdrasil, as world items in Yggdrasil rewrite the world rules for a certain amount of time, and are more like "tools" than "skills" in this sense.
- About Rimuru's skill copying, his Gluttonous King Beelzebuth, and some more: Rimuru will not be able to copy the skills and spells in the Yggdrasil world since for his world they are considered as "alien" and therefore uncopiable. Also, Raphael would be unable to analyze things that originally didn't exist in the Tensei Slime world, and if it tried it would have to take a really long time.
- (Spoiler) For the calamity ranking of Albedo and Shalltear, thatvis die to the fact that Raphael is analyzing beings of unknown power level, therefore putting th in a rough rank category.
- Please just assume that death knights exist in the slimeverse. Fuze never stated it anyways :)
- Keep in mind there are beings more powerful than Ainz residing in Nazarick. You can go check the Fandom Wiki if you want to know who :).
This is the list so far. It will be subject to change as the story gets trickier and the plot holes become more common.
Also, why are you guys so eager to have them fight? I did say a crossover, but it won't always be fighting. Sure Overlord had a lot of fights and Tensei Slime on the surface didn't seem to have much (on the surface that is) but I'm not trying to write a full-on shonen pace and writing style in this story is more based on the Tensei-Slime type, where the main enemies and stuff won't come out until very later on (in short, it's mainly "world building").
Also, is it just me or are a lot of your comments seem to be Overlord-bias? Sure the fight I wrote wasn't the most glamorous, but at least it "kinda" followed my story logic list above, so it was "kinda" unbiased. And yes, I'll admit I do have some Tensei Slime bias, but don't call me biased if you're more biased yourself. I can try to change things up if there is absolute bias, but don't give me the "Ainz is always stronger" bullshit.
Also, if you just generally hate the story, well, there's nothing I can do about it unless you give me suggestions that don't drastically change the storyline (I'm not just going to dig up the entire story by its roots just for a few hate comments).
To elaborate on the logic list, Tensei Slime will eventually be stronger than Overlord at some point. Ainz and his companions were already capped to the maximum of their abilities, while Rimuru and his is still growing stronger and stronger by the minute (that's excluding the primordial demons and the other demon lords). If you have another valid argument to counter against that other than "Oh Ainz and his companions has a shit ton of spells, World Items that literally change world rules, and are generally capped at the literal highest level of their world", I'm "EAGER" to listen more about it.
This story's backlash is getting to uncomfortable levels. I might stop uploading at some point on this website if it keeps going ~ but I'll still see how long I can endure.
Cheers...
