Chapter Fifteen-Point-Five

Welcome to the sixteenth chapter of When Wishes Come True!

Answering reviews:

MidnightBunnyy: (1) I PMed you... (2) Yeah, when I reread it, I realized how stupid Jafitz sounds... But I think Fitzie sounds too much like Fitzphie? I don't know. But thanks for reviewing!

writingficsandbreakinghearts: yeah, right? Also, just out of curiosity, do you ship Fitzphie or Team Foster-Keefe? But about the songs... I feel like Big Girls Don't Cry really sums up Jamie's relationship with Zoe. It's a really good song! And We Are Young really encompasses her passion, in my opinion. And as for Lost, I think it really describes her "I don't need others and I'm better without others" attitude. Either Polaroid or Hear Me by Imagine Dragons is my answer—not that there's a right answer or anything. Thanks! And me too... I don't think anyone gets along with their family all the time, but I think a vast majority would be sad to hear their families forever. But... Well, you'll see. Thanks!

Okay, you're probably thinking that I'm crazy because I wrote the chapter number as 15.5. Well, that's because this isn't a real chapter! I just felt like writing today, I know that I probably won't be able to update by the 11th, and many people have been wondering about... Zoe Mitchell!

Yes, this chapter is in Zoe's POV!

(Thanks writingficsandbreakinghearts for the idea!)

ONTO THE HALF-OF-A-CHAPTER!

Zoe Mitchell—who even was that?

She wasn't Zoe Mitchell. Zoe Mitchell didn't exist.

Who knew her? Who cared enough to know?

Zoe sighed. That was a stupid question, because Jamie Blair cared, and she might've known if Zoe wasn't too scared to tell her everything.

Jamie Blair. Despite all the jokes, the sass, and the faked stupidity, there was an underlying sadness around her. It was subtle, and Zoe could only tell because she paid attention to her.

Except... maybe Jamie didn't know, herself. When Zoe asked her about it, she'd snapped.

That was the first time she'd snapped at Zoe. She'd said that it was none of her business.

Or maybe she did know. Maybe she just didn't want to acknowledge it.

But maybe it was because she didn't acknowledge herself that she seemed to understand and acknowledge everyone else. It was almost scary, her powers of perception. She didn't ever confront people about whatever she noticed, but that didn't mean she was oblivious to it. Zoe only knew this because she'd always comment about others to her. Jamie noticed when a rather talkative kid in their class named Brody's parents got a divorce. When Zoe asked how she figured that out, she had shrugged and simply said, "I've heard his parents insulting each other behind the other's backs. I've heard him mutter about how he wished that his parents would be all lovey when others complain about how grossly in love their parents are.

This... this power of hers scared Zoe.

Although, it was fitting, seeing as she was an Empath.

And Jamie may have scared Zoe, but she was fundamentally a good person.

Zoe wasn't. Zoe knew she wasn't a good person.

And she might've wished for Jamie's forgiveness, but...

She honestly didn't care.

Jamie would know if she was lying to herself.

Yeah, I know this chapter is confusing. So, the italicized words are the things Zoe doesn't want to admit to herself.

Questions:

1. What do you think of Zoe now?

2. Do you think Zoe is right to be afraid of Jamie?
