Right Claw Deleted Scene #2
Hargeon Town Docks
The eastern docks of the port city of Hargeon were completely void of life that night, all except for a pair of City Guards who pull the short straw when it came time for patrol assignments. The two of them walk side by side, their shields always up and their spears at the ready. The duo constantly scanned the area around them, never once looking in the same direction as the other in order to maximize their vigilance. As they near the farthest docks, the guards suddenly stop just short of walking into the nearby neighborhood, quickly turn around and walked away.
The last time a patrol accidentally went into the Shade District at night, their bodies were found the next morning by a group of fishermen out in the middle of the harbor.
Crime infested, cutthroat, dangerous.
These were the words that best describe the infamous district, the one eyesore of the whole town. It was truly lucky for Lucy Heartfila that she did not stumble into this place on that fateful day or less her journey with Fairy Tail would have never happened.
It is also the perfect place for finding information if one looks hard enough and was willing to dive into the disgusting underbelly of society and if the guards would have just turned their heads upward to the rooftops on their left just as before they stop, they might have noticed four individuals about to do just that.
"It seems not even the city guard dare venture into that place", Bana points out as he watches them leave, "No doubt we will find what we are looking for here."
"I hope so", Perses says as he observes the streets, "We only got a few hours before the illusion charm dispels, we wasted an hour getting here, and I really want to hurt something before the night is over."
"Please try to remember that we need to keep whoever we get alive until after we get the information", Bana reminds him only to receive a shrug in return from the Second Generation Dragon-Slayer.
"No promises", as he turns his attention to the local tavern: The Sloppy Harlot.
"That's a good start as any", Perses says and both Harpocrates and Bana nod their heads in agreement. But Romeo didn't mimic that motion for he wasn't even paying attention to them in the first place. His eyes were on the marina that lay within Haregon's harbor not that far from their current position. He narrows his eye in an attempt to get a better look but realizes that even with enhance vision his curiosity would not be satisfied with looking from afar.
"I'll be right back. Don't wait up for me", he quickly says as he started making his way to the marina, easily jumping from rooftop to rooftop while leaving behind three confused servants of the Dragon King.
"The fuck's he going? He does realize we're doing this for his benefit, right?", Perses says before thinking for a moment, "And because the master told us to gather information about this assassin guild."
Bana simply watches as Romeo disappears into the shadows and getting farther and farther away as he made his way to the marina, "Interesting."
Just then a group of drunks came stumbling out of the front door of the tavern, singing off-key songs quite loudly and falling over trash cans and anything else that happens to be in their path.
"Oh, well", Perses says as he spots one of the figures separating himself from the rest of the group. A predatory smile slowly appears on the face of the swordsman, "I won't let the little shit ruin my fun for the night."
Romeo arrives at the entrance of the marina and surveys the area around him. On either side of him was a clearing made of concrete that looks like it had seen better days, ones that did not include all the potholes and cracks.
"I wonder", he whispers to himself before his hearing picks up the sounds of approaching footsteps. Putting both of his hands near the handles of his blade he turns his head to see an old man appearing from out of the shadows, shuffling along while using a cane for support. Romeo makes no attempt to hide and thus is spotted by the man upon him entering the area.
"Hey, sonny. What are you doing out at this time of night? Kids like you should be in bed", the old man tells Romeo, who quickly and silently moves his blades to the inside of his vest where he places them within pounces to conceal them.
"Hey, mister", Romeo replies, his voice taking on a higher pitch than usual, "My family passing through here on our way to the Crocus and we're staying at an inn nearby."
The elderly man eyes Romeo for a moment, "What's that got to do with the fact that you're out this late, sonny?"
"Well, I use to live here with I was younger and was wondering what happens to all of the houses that were once here when I played with my friends", Romeo lied as he became more in touch with the fake persona that has aided him so well during the years of an innocent child when he was task with gathering information. It was amazing how people easily overlook a kid, especially law enforcement.
"Oh, you didn't hear?", the man asks, "They were destroy."
"Destroy by what?", Romeo press on despite the feeling in his gut.
The old man shakes his head in disgust before speaking, "Not what, who. It was that dragon-slayer fellow from that guild in Magnolia, Fairy Tail I believe it's call. I think his name was Natku, Nathu,..."
"Natsu", Romeo thought as the man snaps his fingers.
"Ah, that was it, Natsu! Yeah, that Natsu fellow! Came here about seven years ago and wreck up the place, didn't even apologize for it!", the man ranted, "There were good families here, friends of mine, luckily no one was kill but afterward no one wanted to live here anymore! Most of them just move further into town, except for the Blendys!"
"Hmm?", Romeo says, intrigue by the mentioning of Chelia's last name, "What happened to the Blendys? I used to play with their granddaughter", he once again fib.
"Ah, you were a friend of Chelia, were you? Well anyway, last I heard she and her grandparents up and move north to Oshibana Town", he explains before closing his eyes, "Unfortunately, I heard later on that her grandfather pass away up there."
A few moments pass in silence before the man opens his eyes only to discover that Romeo was no longer in front of him. In fact, upon him looking around the area he notices that the boy was no longer in the marina.
"Huh", he says as he scratches his head, "Kids these days are so disrespectful to their elders", as he shuffles away once more while Romeo watches him from atop of a nearby rooftop, his mind deep in thought.
It didn't take long for Romeo to find the others; he just had to follow the smell of fresh blood that led him to the back of a secluded alley where he found Perses doing what he did best while Harpocrates and Bana were keeping watch.
He spots Perses standing in front of an overweight man who was slump against the wall on the ground with one eye swollen shut and blood pouring forth from his mouth as tears fell down his face
"P-Please", he begs, "I don't know who you're talking about!", only to receive a punch from Perses, one that fractured a bone within the man's jaw if Romeo heard correctly.
Perses shakes his head, "Now why you have to go and lie to me like that….what was your name again?"
"Rolondo", the man sniffles.
"Yes, Rolondo. Now, why you have to go and lie to me like that, Rolondo?", Perses asks.
"B-But I'm not lying! I don't know a Jack Dime!", Rolondo cried, "I'm just pickpocket tourists that come to town, that's all!"
"Oh, I believe you on that", Perses admits as he reaches down and grab the man by the throat and easily hoists him off the ground, "But that also means you have someone who you sell the confide of your day's work to. Someone who you know won't rat you out to the guards. Tell me where they are at?"
Rolondo struggles to breathe as Perses' iron grip latches around his throat. Only after a moment does the dragon-slayer ease up.
"I can't tell you that! They'll kill me!"
"No, they will kill you if they find you, "if" being the main word", Perses states before bringing Rolondo close to his face, "I will kill you if you don't start talking and that will be only after I had my fun with you."
Ten minutes later, the three dragon-slayers, Bana, and Rolondo are looking at a rundown warehouse on the long abandon docks that were at the end of the harbor.
"This is the place?", Bana asks Rolondo who was still crying.
"Y-Yes", he sniffles, looking more like a child than Romeo, "That's where Big Dote and his gang reside. They'll know where the guy you're looking for is at."
"Alright, then", Perses says as he draws and greatsword and starts walking toward the building, "You guys stay here, I'll handle this."
"Remember that we at least need this "Big Dote" alive" Bana calls out to him.
"Yeah, yeah, I heard ya", Perses waves back without turning around, "I'll try to hold back."
"But, but Big Dote has at least twenty thugs at any given time at his headquarter. Some of them are mages, including Big Dote!", Rolondo points out.
"Trust me, it would probably be for the best if you just kept quiet now and be glad that his attention isn't on you anymore", Romeo advises, "This won't take long."
And sure enough, a few moments after Perses enter through the front door, the sound of spells firing off and men shouting rings throughout the docks. Two men go flying out the front window, one of them with his right arm severed off and the other missing both of his legs. They hit the ground but are completely motionless afterward.
The noise of men dying and metal slashing through flesh and bone soon engulf the night before slowly starting to die off. Perses then comes back out the front door dragging an obese man bound in chains and with a gag over his mouth toward the group.
"So what did you discover at the marina, Romeo?", Bana asks, raising his voice a little to drown out the screams from the building.
Romeo lets out a breath and lowers his shoulders, "Something that proved that Chelia was right. Natsu did destroy her home, by accident I'm sure. He would never do something like that on purpose."
"Doesn't seem to matter to Chelia whether he did it on purpose or not", Bana states.
"Yeah, you're right", Romeo admits, "Doesn't help that her grandfather died not long afterward when they moved", he says as the screams finally died out and Perses out strolling out the building, dragging an excessively obese man wrap in what seem like docks chains and a gag in his mouth.
A while later, the group is at the end of a pier with Big Dote sitting down near the edge. The gag has since been remove and the air was alive with profanity.
"Do you fuckers have any fucking idea who the fuck you're fucking with, you fucking fucks!", Big Dote screams, "I'm the biggest fucking mob fucking boss in the fucking region! I could fucking have all your fucking families killed fucking tonight if I fucking wanted too and have your fucking heads on a fucking pike!"
Perses turns to look at the group, "He has a pair on him, I'll give him that, and quite the vocabulary."
"Where did you find the chains from anyway?", Bana asks, completely ignoring the flailing man next to him.
…
"They were just lying around", Perses admits, "Right next to a pile of ropes."
Bana and Harpocrates just shook their heads at this.
