Soaring towards the Orange Star city, Krillin kept his eyes open for any signs of Videl's copter. It was a clear night, the moonlight highlighting the area below in a silvery-white shade as if the heavenly body was placing the unfortunate city under the spotlight.

Once he dealt with the copter issue, he would need to help against the city-wide assault which itself was dreadful and honestly speaking, rendering his nerves in a frenzy.

The efforts in the city would be widespread, and if that wasn't enough, they would have to ensure the safety of civilians at the same time.

If only, they could ask these thugs to take the fights out of the city.

Why can't it be someone like Frieza or Cell? The monk knew very well what he was wishing for but couldn't help it. At least, with the enemies they had faced in the past, their efforts were concentrated.

If anything, Cell now seemed like a blessing. That overgrown insect had at least given them ten days without harming any civilian in the wake.

Further, they had dragon balls to resort to as a last and necessary option. However, he wasn't sure if the wish-granting orbs could be used now. After all, these types of incidents were a common occurrence and not certainly a planet-wide threat.

Just as there are natural and unnatural reasons for the birth of life, so are there for its death.

Going by Dende's words, the green Kami might or might not allow the summoning of Shenron, but then again, he would have known if such a wish had been made till now.

It only means we must not take any chances. Musing to himself, he halted his thought boat lest it delved into dangerous waters, only to witness the familiar yellow-colored copter a second later.

Alright. Let's get it done. Picking up the pace, he began flying parallel to the copter before quickly taking a round around it. As expected, the copter was empty of any person and on autopilot.

Quickly blurring behind it, he casually tried to open the backdoor only for it not to budge. Using a bit more force, he ripped apart the door and witnessed four crates of explosives unceremoniously placed in the cargo area.

Not wasting any moment, the orange-clad monk raised his palm, the crates immediately began levitating, the plane carrying on ahead.

Another push of Ki, a Ki bubble surrounded the crates before, with a casual flick of his wrist, he sent the bubble towards the upper atmospheric levels.

A moment later, there was a distinct boom.

Satisfied, and with a burst of Ki, he again appeared parallel to the flying jet before pressing the red button on its side, the vehicle enveloping in a cloud of smoke.

Catching the capsule, Krillin blasted towards the Southern district.

Tien and Videl appeared above the city, the blue-eyed girl blinking abruptly as her surroundings suddenly sharpened from a hazy blur.

She couldn't help but gawk at the outcome. J-just now, we were there and now… th-that's thousand miles!... is this the power of… Ki?

"Videl."

Tien's slightly chastising voice as well as the sound of gunshots bringing her back to her senses, Videl mentally shook away the feeling of awe and shock. "Sorry," She mumbled, looking at him.

Tein simply looked around. "It's your city. How should we proceed?"

Videl nodded in understanding, more to herself, contemplating for a second. "I believe a grasp of the situation will be good, to begin with. We should check with the cops," She looked around quickly. "There!"

Following her extended finger, Tien saw a group of emergency vehicles below them. Already knowing it to be the best course of action, he nodded towards his student before they blurred out of view.

Appearing amidst the group of cops and doctors who initially jumped out of their skins at the sudden movement but calmed down once they saw the duo, Tien motioned the dark-haired girl to take the lead.

Well acquainted with her master's social skills, Videl obliged. Walking to the cop in lead, she nodded. "Could you link me to the chief?"

"Uh, sure," Fumbling with his transceiver for a couple of seconds, he handed it to Videl. "He's on line."

Again nodding, Videl grabbed the device. "Chief."

"Videl! It's good to hear from you. For the last hour, I was extremely worried… "

"Sorry, Chief," Politely interrupting the elderly man, she continued. "But right now, I need an update on the situation."

"Uh… okay," There was slight static noise. "So, immediately after your signal, I ordered the evacuation, and though, we only got a ten-minute window, it was still better than nothing. For that, I sincerely thank you."

Videl felt a bit relieved knowing that her efforts were not totally in vain. Even though ten minutes were not much, it was still enough time to forewarn the various authorities and establish a sort of organized system.

It could have been worse if the assault would have been out of blue, and as efficient as the cops were, initially, they would have definitely behaved like a deer caught in the headlights.

"Currently, we are receiving reports from all the four districts. Fortunately, in the Northern district, we have Yamcha helping us, and in the Eastern district, call it fortunate or unfortunate, we only have the Mayor's residence under attack."

"The worst-hit areas are in the other two districts. The news towers, bank, state treasury in the Southern district while both the hospitals, the university, and the school in the Western district. Apart from them, there are some minor skirmishes but apparently to divert our attention."

"The other things I can understand," Tien began, Videl immediately putting the device on hold. "Why school and university? It's Sunday evening; they should be closed for all intents and purposes."

Videl shook her head. "Special classes, vocational courses among other things; at least two classrooms should be brimming with students."

Tien grimly nodded, and Videl released the hold. "Go on, chief."

"As I was saying Videl, the situation is bad and it can get worse. I have already asked Yamcha to call for his group, and I ask the same to you. We need all the help we can get."

"Don't worry chief. Help is on the way."

"We are counting on you Videl." The conversation ended.

"Leave the Western district to me."

While handing back the device, Videl decided it to be the most plausible modus operandi. "Then, I will handle the Mayor's residence," She voiced, looking at Tien.

The Crane school master only gave her an intense look in return.

Quickly catching on his intentions, Videl slightly smiled. "Don't worry master. That place houses the cream of the crop. They prefer private guns over government authorities anytime. I'll only have to deal with the Mayor's house."

The thugs would definitely be wary of assaulting the Eastern district. After all, the private securities in service there were leagues ahead of the police.

Unfortunately, they wouldn't also waste a single bullet if anyone other than their hirer was in danger. After all, I used to reside there six months ago.

"Fine. Do you need a lift?"

"I'll manage." Every second was worth it.

"Alright. Good luck." With that, Tien was gone. A slight billow of wind announcing his departure, the cops and medics looking around for any sign of him in naked astonishment.

Videl followed the suit, borrowing a car from cops, sure that the cops would be able to deal with the minor skirmish here.

Reaching the Western district, the Satan hospital – the biggest in the city – was the first building that Tien spotted.

Dropping down near the barricade, he approached the frantic cops who immediately pointed their guns at him, but after a second, recognition dawned over their faces.

The cops parted quickly to reveal a mustached man in a brown overcoat. "You're Tien-san, right?"

Good. It's the chief. Nodding, the three-eyed man flickered his gaze towards the white-colored building. "What's the situation?"

The police chief turned towards the building. "The hospital was the first place they struck, not sparing us any time. It's mostly empty though; only two ICU's and an OPD is in function. The gangsters are hiding in the hospital lawn… "

Tien eyes narrowed.

"... as per my experience, either for a quick escape or… "

"to stay on the safe side." Tien finished, gears already turning in his mind.

The police chief nodded gravely. "Either way, any action from us might force them to enact their plans which we certainly don't want. We are forced to stay put."

Contemplating for a couple of seconds, Tien clasped his hands. "Multiform technique." He murmured under his breath.

Not a second later, three identical bodies shimmered into view beside him.

Ignoring the gobsmacked expressions of the cops, Tien voiced. "Leave this to me," As if the words were the command, the four blurred into action.

One of the clones darted around the lawn area, finding the thugs taking cover behind the generator sets, vehicles in the parking, and other such places, the only common thing being each of them maintaining a safe distance from the hospital building.

His suspicions were only asserted.

The martial master artist meticulously delivered a light chop to every thug he encountered, his speed making it practically impossible for them to even catch a glimpse of him, only simultaneous gusts marking his arrival and departure.

It only took a couple of moments.

Having finished the work outside, the clone darted towards the building.

Sensing a small congregation of Ki adjacent to a bigger one, he appeared outside the room reading 'OPD' in neon green letters.

Opening the door, he ignored the screams of the doctor and his three assistants, before pointing his palm towards the opposite wall, a Ki ball flickering into existence before shooting towards the brick construct.

A small explosion marked the explosion, debris falling onto the ground of the lawn, the sound also drowning the augmented screams.

Again, ignoring the terrified visages, Tien focused. A split-second later, the four persons began levitating, and before they could even register the event and scream again, he sent them towards the group of cops and medics.

He sighed as they were safely deposited before shifting his head. "Anything?"

"No," The original Tein replied, blurring into view besides his doppelganger.

"Let's do it together."

Nodding, the original again vanished, his clone following.

Another clone appeared at the bigger congregation of Ki on the first floor. Entering the hall, he immediately realized that even if there were time for evacuation, it wouldn't have been easy.

Seventeen bedridden patients in critical condition supported on sophisticated medical machines were definitely not an easy task, not for him either.

There was no way he could directly use his Ki techniques on them without risking their health and safety.

Neither he had the experience nor the heart for that.

There is only one option… Glancing around once again, he mentally shared his idea, deciding to stay put in the room.

The third clone, having appeared in the second ICU, and mentally sharing the link with others, also decided to follow the suit.

Clenching his teeth, Tein punched the wall adjacent to him, frustration building in his being, unable to find anything despite searching every room twice in a row.

He could have easily left the building to its fate but now, with the situation with the ICU patients, it wasn't possible.

Still, I can't give up. Preparing himself for the third time, he entered the storeroom adjacent to him. A thought occurring out of nowhere, he conjured a Ki ball, the yellowish-white light highlighting the room while dimming the shadows.

Glancing once again in opened cabinets, drawers, and above them, he sighed in dismay before turning around and walking out…

… only to halt as his eye caught something. Walking towards the side of the cabinet, he crouched, the barely visible shadow of the furniture piece making the slight color difference of the wall visible.

This area is recently painted. Tracing a finger on the fist-sized area, he suddenly pushed it, the finger passing through like a knife through butter. Frowning, he pushed his entire fist inside only to grab onto something.

Withdrawing, he pulled out a baseball-sized cylindrical object. Eyes narrowed, he rotated it around, only to have them widened.

27:14… 13... 12...

There was no doubt about it. It was a time-barred explosive just as he suspected. Still, there's time. I can take care…

BEEP!

His gaze sharply turned towards the display only to see a flickering horizontal line… Shit!

BOOM!

The side of the ground floor exploded, flames bursting out in a rush, followed by another two explosions in an array.

The ground floor crumbled and the three upper floors cascaded, debris falling, dust and black smoke coupled with fire enveloped the area.

The Chief could only look in muted horror, eyes widening, and mouth going dry. The injured… they were innocents… and Tien… all dead…

He felt numb, in his twenty-seven years of service, having never encountered such a terrible occurrence. Energy began leaving his body.

However, before he could succumb to the urge of falling to his knees, he registered the growing feelings of despair and fear around him.

Immediately, realizing this wasn't the right time, he steeled his face trying to muster as much as a brave upfront he could for his subordinates.

Still, he put his fingers on his hat, all intentions to lower it in the sign of respect and mourning. But before he could do it, his eyes witnessed something that should have been impossible.

The smoke parted revealing two huge spheres of yellow light that flew towards them, quickly crossing the distance and settling beside them.

"Quick. They are safe but need support."

The words forcing him into action, he turned around to see the two copies of Tien appearing beside him out of thin air.

Only the one in lead had a slight charring on the left side of the face going below to neck and the brown garbs covering the chest. Thank Kami, it isn't anything serious.

Sheer relief substituted his traumatic emotions. Besides him, the medics and cops rushed to secure the patients.

Still seeing the worry at the bald man's face, the chief smiled in respite. "Don't worry. All these are the latest equipment with an inbuilt inverter. Power won't be a problem for another ten minutes. They are fine and you have my sincere gratitude for that."

The police chief bowed low to the savior in front of them.

Releasing a breath, he didn't know he was holding, Tien nodded. "Then, I leave them to you," Deciding to keep his clones with him, the member of the Earth's Special Forces flew from the area.

Spotting a lot of emergency vehicles in front of a multi-story building, Krillin dropped in front of it. Careening his neck upwards, he mentally whistled. Whoa! It's huge.

"Who are… y-you are…"

Hearing the incoherent words, he shifted towards the group of cops. "Yo! Here to help," He slightly smiled, hoping to lighten the palpable tension and hopelessness.

The one near the car, apparently the in charge from his medals, nodded in understanding. "Much appreciated… umm… sorry, I forgot your name."

"It's Krillin," The orange-clad monk simply waved him off. "So, what's the situation here?"

"These news towers," The policeman pointed with his hand towards the buildings. "These are twenty-four-seven places, and at least a quarter of the total gangsters are stationed here. Coupled with thirty stories of each tower, it is completely infeasible for us to take any action."

Thirty stories, huh? The monk looked at the towers, scratching his chin in contemplation. These towers are a sort of stronghold for these gangsters. Whatever their purpose is, these towers must be secured… hmmm… Looking at the cops from the corner of his eye. "Let me take care of this."

Then, he was gone, leaving behind a group of bug-eyed cops and medics, the only sign of his movement being the rapidly rotating glass door at the entrance of the building.

The door slammed open.

Alerted, every eye turned towards the sudden sound only to find nothing, but before anyone could even so much as think to speak, a slight breeze brushed the occupants.

Not even a moment later, thugs and reporters alike dropped akin to sacks of potatoes.

Pausing for a moment and surveying his work, Krillin dashed out of the room, slamming the door shut.

Room by room he went, tapping on their foreheads, the nerve point in the neck with his index finger, leaving behind a trail of unconscious bodies.

No later, he was ascending the floors, dealing wherever he encountered the gangsters which were almost on every floor, while still invisible to everyone.

At last, dealing with the topmost floor containing the most number of thugs, he blurred out of the window towards the adjacent tower.

Repeating his actions while descending down the floors, he again appeared amidst the cops who could only blink in a stupor.

What would have been a crawl over a heap of smoldering embers, was dealt in a couple of seconds.

"It's done. Though, I have to render everyone unconscious. Don't worry, they are safe," Krillin quickly added, seeing the wary look on the cop's face.

"It was necessary, otherwise the news crew would have probably begun covering the events blowing our already bleak chances of secrecy."

They needed to remain clandestine for as long and as much as possible. Who knew what drastic actions these bastards would take if their presence was revealed sooner than required?

The cop looked unsure for a moment before nodding in understanding. "I see. Though… are you really sure? I mean you made it look so… um... easy."

"That's Ki for ya," Krillin provided with a smile. "Trust me, I took care of them, and now I believe you can do the rest." With that, the orange-clad monk flew towards the next situation, not waiting for their response.

-ooooooo-

Confirming the house, Videl parked the car adjacent to the outer wall before climbing onto it using the car itself. With a jump, she latched onto the roof and pushed herself over it.

Crouching, she took in her surroundings before spotting a man at the other side, the shadows making him barely concealing him.

Still crouched, she slowly and quietly moved towards him, the closed distance making it easy to discern his appearance.

"Ryan," Muttering her greetings, she settled beside him.

The cop spared her a glance. "Videl," Before shifting his vision to the house in front of them, visible through the bars of the railing.

The raven-haired girl followed, bringing her eye near to the gap, witnessing the peach-colored two-story residence of the Mayor.

This was the first time she had seen the building's backside which was totally blank sans a single window on the second story, covered by a yellow curtain obscuring any view.

Lowering her gaze, she witnessed the temporary barricade erected on their side of the street behind which the Mayor and his wife were huddled together, the latter apparently crying into the chest of her husband, three cops standing as protection in front of them.

"So, what's the situation here?" She asked, still gazing at the scenario in front of her.

"We received the evacuation call," Ryan began after a second's pause. " … and rushed the Mayor and his wife out of the house, believing one of us had the daughter only to find that wasn't the case. And, before we could even think of returning back, the gangsters had seized the house."

"We don't know how many of them are inside, but only a single person showed his face from the window and warned us against calling any help, otherwise they would harm the little girl."

This was a precarious situation, Videl mused to herself worriedly. "That's why you asked me to stay in cover."

The man nodded. "They only know about the three cops down there as I have already climbed the roof for vantage. These three are in clear sight, and if anyone even tries to leave their position, we risk the girl."

"I couldn't call for another cop as they are barely capable, and then the chief suddenly informed me that you're coming to help," He glanced at her. "I realized with you and me, we can handle the situation."

The blue-eyed girl couldn't agree more. Ryan was definitely leagues ahead than other cops. Even now she could clearly remember the dedication put by the man beside her into the training they had received together with others.

"Did you bring them?"

The words ending her musings, Videl nodded before taking the capsule from her pocket and de-capsulizing it, revealing a gun, a rope, and a sophisticated binocular which Ryan picked and began scrutinizing. "This isn't the standard model, is it?"

"No," Videl affirmed his deduction. "It's an advanced one. I bought it when I began assisting the force, fantasizing that it would help me in the work. Never needed it but it sure had cost a fortune."

"It'll be useful now," Ryan murmured before using the binocular discreetly to spy on the building in front, the radio waves from the device bypassing the brick walls giving him a black and white view of inside. "What the… "

"Ryan?!"

Wordlessly, he handed her the binocular which she immediately used on the peach-colored two-story house of the Mayor, only to blink in surprise.

There were three skeletal frames in the top floor room, two larger and wider bony structures giving away the positions of both the men - one was standing directly beside the window, pressed against the wall, obviously keeping an eye on them.

The other was some distance behind him, leaning against the wall immediately next to a petite skeletal frame - obviously the girl - who was in a sitting position. Dammit! He's too close to her.

"The bastards tricked us," Ryan muttered in disbelief. "I didn't even think they would only be two men."

Lowering the device, Videl looked at him. "Hardly surprising. Even if the Snipers and Red Shark are working together, they cannot spare enough men to smoothly carry a city-wide assault. Besides, we both know, they are only here for political leverage."

The cop nodded. "Right. Also, it definitely gives us an edge over them."

Again taking a look at the building, analyzing their limited options, Videl smirked. "Let's enact your plan."

"Negative."

Grunting in the earpiece, Videl sighed, the ten minutes of waiting seriously grating on her nerves. Leaning on the outer side of the railing of the roof, she off-handedly tugged on the rope tied to the railing while glancing at the gun in her other hand.

This was the first time she would be using a gun in the mission. She was proud of her shooting skills but her non-official license forbade her from using any arms. Still, the second shot will be difficult for me.

"He's moving towards the other side. Wait for my signal."

Finally. Halting her musings, while shifting slightly, Videl tightened the hold on the rope with her left hand while clenching her right on the handle of the small pistol. Help me Kami-sama.

"Now!"

Not wasting a moment, she thrust her feet on the railing before pushing herself back into the air, the rope stretching for a moment before her weight succumbed to gravity, her body going in an arc towards the window.

As soon as she was diagonally vertical to the window, she hastily pointed her right hand near to the right corner of the window before pulling the trigger thrice in succession, the silencer deafening any sound.

There was a shout and then a thud, the sound of the furniture moving and falling audible out of the broken window glass while her body passed through the window, shards of windowpane piercing her skin.

As soon as Videl's body went inside the window, dragging the curtain with her, the other man took half a step forward in shock, exposing a quarter of his face to Ryan who was already aiming at the left corner of the window.

Immediately, he pulled the trigger, successfully delivering a headshot, the man's body jerking backward.

Quickly checking on both the prone bodies through the binoculars, he sighed in relief.

The mission was a success.

She fell on the wooden floor, entangled into the curtain sheet.

Not a second later, a shot was fired followed by a thud. The fact that she was alive, it could only be the other gangster.

Raising herself to a crouch, while suppressing the burning sensation from various bleedings on her body, Videl grinned seeing the prone body of the second man.

Damn! He's good. Praising the cop, she stood up before turning towards the direction of the girl only to gasp in shock.

The three-year-old girl was definitely unconscious, the rapid rising and falling of her chest confirming her alive status, but she was tied…

… by a suicide vest, though, a couple sizes big for her frame.

Quickly rushing to her, she checked the display on the vest, simultaneously lifting the arms of the girl.

14:38… 37… 36…

She released a breath, she didn't even know she was holding while carefully pulling the way too big vest over her arms. Thank Kami. I still have time for…

A painful chuckle mixed with a wet cough interrupted her.

Her blood ran cold. Even before she had turned her vision, she knew who it was. While cursing herself for dropping the gun and committing a rookie mistake, she looked towards the corner where she had shot the men.

As if waiting for her to look, the man, grinning from his bloody mouth, shifted his hand revealing a rectangular remote. Blue eyes widened in terror, her mind providing the answer to the purpose of the remote. No!

"You've… f-five seconds… " Chuckling, he pressed the remote.

She was already acting.

Pulling the vest in a quick motion over the girls lifted arms, she threw it towards the man before scooping the girl, rushing and jumping towards the open window.

BOOM!

The concussive force violently pushed her out of the window, rotating her body to face the building which exploded, her eyes reflexively shutting down.

But, nothing came.

Not even the heat.

However, there was a familiar warmth, similar to the feeling when Tien had enveloped her body with his Ki, and she felt herself smiling, relief flooding her body.

She sighed. "Thank you." I am lucky to be rescued twice in a day. It must be master…

"Videl… you… you're flying… "

The soft voice, she recognized of Ryan's, somehow managed to reach her despite other noises, her eyes opening in shock only to see a white bubble around her body.

Somehow, at that moment, she realized it wasn't Tien's Ki … but… hers.

Shock and surprise paved the way to pure happiness and excitement in her being, the airborne girl barely curbing the urge to squeal.

This was it. The moment she was waiting for the last six months, the fruit of the efforts she had done, the reward for her hard work… her Ki.

Her Own Ki!

Her first step into the world that had been evasive so far. The beginning of her…

Slight shifting on her body cut her musings, making her realize of her position or rather the person she was holding.

Placing the feeling of shock, astonishment, and ecstasy in the back of her mind, she looked down to see they were still at the level of the second story.

Okay… now, how do I get down?

Some clarifications before you begin flaming me :D

# Speed and Strength - Before you began saying that the Z warriors are way faster than shown, I simply agree. However, science isn't my forte. I can't calculate those light speed movements, power levels boost, etc. God knows, writing this much is exhausting.

Further, this story is for the element of fun, and some things we would have liked to see in the series.

If I wrote, Tien's body shimmered at Mt Paozu for a moment, and all the thugs in Orange Star city dropped unconscious…

Meh… that wouldn't be too interesting, right?

# Normal weapons against Ki users - Here the element is 'surprise'. If caught by surprise or faced with lack of time, the normal weapons will surely hurt the human Ki-users like a normal one before they bring their Ki into play.

Their skin isn't as tough as Saiyans. Bullets can pierce their body, say if they are unconscious or caught by surprise.

In this chapter, the bomb exploded in Tien's face and though he reacted in a split-second by drawing his Ki, slight burning was evident.

But Saiyans won't be hurt by these weapons. Their constitution helps there, even when they are suppressing their Ki.

My proof is Goku getting hit by bullets as a child by Bulma. Though, I will ignore the rash by a bullet in dragon ball super - that was Toriyama didn't giving a fuck even about his own story.

# Videl's Ki - A human girl beginning from scratch and not only accessing but also learning to use her Ki for flying in a gap of some days, is, to me, an insult to the sacrifices the Z warriors made for reaching their strength.

Here, she had a definite amount of Ki after training for six months with a proficient master martial artist. Even then, she needed a trigger for the access which became the explosion.
