Sam felt his heart leap from his chest with each step he took. He couldn't breath from his constant running but he needed to find Red. She was confused and terrified and he knew it. His footsteps speed up running through the woods screaming her name.
"Mom?" Red stared into the blues eyes of the blonde woman. Demeter looked at the two confused, "Mom? Persephone what's she talking about?" Persephone looked at the teenage girl with fear. "You must have mistaken me child. I have no children nor have I ever been with man." Red froze with the tone of her voice but she knew. "Hades used you against me." She muttered under breath causing the goddess of spring to stare at her. "...Hades?..."
"Sweetheart be aware of what you speak." Demeter looked at the teens face and grew in worry. "I know what I speak. I'm right aren't I?" She stepped towards Persephone. Red felt it in her heart that she was the woman she saw in the underworld, "Persephone!" Demeter yelled at the two as Hestia held her fire close. Red wanted answers. "Why did you leave me?" was the only question that came out. Persephone smiled, "I only had one interaction with that man. He kidnapped me and I left." She turned her back causing Red to feel more alone as she walked to the house. Demeter laughed, "My daughter is a pure woman child." Demeter caught up as Hestia stayed back with Red. "What made you think she's your mom?" She guided the flame close to Red only to expose her tears. Her tears didn't stop, "I saw her down there." She ran towards the house passing the two goddesses, "Child wait!" Hestia reached towards her.
Red blocked their path as Demeter looked annoyed, "Child, move aside." Her voice was calm but her glare put fear in the young goddess. She gritted her teeth shaking her head,"I know what I saw down there."
"Child you've mistaken me for another woman." Persephone spoke in a cold voice passing through Red. "No I'm not. Why? Why'd you leave me alone? You're just as cruel as him!"
"I am nothing like him!" Persephone spoke up scaring the others seeing her face turn mad. "Then why'd you leave me!? Alone..." more tears streamed down her face. She fell to her knees as her hair turned black, "...alone...with no one..."Her tears soon vanished as her once golden eyes turned black. Demeter began to shake seeing this happen, "Where did you see her?"
"In the underworld." her voice was hoarse as she spoke. Persephone stared at the girl with a plain face, "You speak lies child. Goddesses do not allow one to lie so easily."
"Then why are you?" Hestia stood by Red with her flames. Her face with anger knowing the truth, "Sister admit your truth." Demeter looked at the goddess and chuckled. "You believe your niece over your sister?"
"My sister speaks lie causing pain to her child. You fell in love didn't you, Persephone?" She froze looking into the eyes of fury. "Admit or I spill the truth about everything." Red looked up at Hestia in a daze. 'Why is she helping me?' she thought as Persephone began to shake.
Hades took Mal to the library and locked the door as she glared at him from afar, "Why'd you leave her?"
"I didn't want to but we had no choice." his voice trembled as he took a seat. His eyes saddened, "In order to protect her and us we had to."
"We were told to never conceive or they'd kill her. She was too powerful. We didn't listen and fell in love. I never wanted to leave them but..." Persephone began to cry seeing Red look pale and unusual.
"...but they found out everything. Her mother and me but they never found her so her mother ran away with her to find her a good home but humans weren't fawned of our love." Hades looked at Mal with pain and sorrow, "We had to leave her on the Isle and Persephone had to pretend to hate me and not know her child."
"I had to give birth to baby girl with no one to help me because of the fear of losing her and Hades. I never went a day without thinking of them. Hades insisted we tell the world about his child and leave me out. Pretend I was human so she could live and not pose a threat to them." Demeter looked at her daughter in disbelief as Hestia knew, "Hera and Zeus."
Hades looked at Mal as she was shaking with rage, "Your brother wanted to continue being all mighty."
"He was stuck up like always and had kids with countless women to prove he's the best. Same with Poseidon though he wanted to follow big brother and be like him." Hades rubbed his temples, "I never wanted to hurt you girls. I fell in love and when that was taken away I fell into a hole of pain and sorrow. That's how you came to be. I met your mom and we had you but she refused to let me see you. Talking about her and what you'd do for her. I left but I always worried about the two of you." Mal sat down hiding her tears. Knowing the pain of what it takes to protect the ones you care for.
Persephone fell down beside Red crying, "I always wanted to meet you. I wanted to ask for help but I was scared what he'd do to you." She held her child's face as she cried, "I'm so sorry, Mya."
"She named her Mya for she was our beloved child. Loved by those she approached and protected. Persephone felt that she'd bring love to world." Mal felt her heart flutter at the name as the name brought love to her.
Red looked up at the fake stars seeing a light of hope. She saw Sam. Her beloved. The one who held her hand in math. Chased after her into the dark and looking for her now, "Mya?"
"Yes baby. I gave the name to have those around feel loved. You're my beloved's daughter and my greatest creation For I never stopped loving you nor did your father stop loving you." Mya felt her heart leap thinking of Sam as she mentioned Hades like that. She hugged her mother as flowers bloomed around their feet and small firefly like lights float from the flowers. She felt so happy but wanted the world to know the truth.
Zeus watched from above seeing Hades and Mal in disgust. His anger rose with the disrespect he was given from his brother, "Love?"
