Chapter 3: In Which There is Stalking and Lots of Swearing

(Hinata Hyuuga-Heiress-Stalker)

Hinata Hyuuga could hardly contain her blush. From her hiding place she watched the two playing boys from afar. Pushing her fingers together she couldn't help but feel so very happy for Naruto.

For so long he was alone, and now he finally had a friend to play with. If only she had the courage to confront him, perhaps she could be his friend too.

She settled for watching from behind her post and after awhile the two boys parted, but not before Naruto tackled his friend, Tsunayoshi, in a goodbye hug. Hinata smiled and watched the boy who was like sunshine disappear around the corner.

So intense was her staring she didn't even notice when Tsuna walked up beside her. She squeaked in surprise when he spoke; "What are you doing Hinata-chan?"

She looked at him in horror at being caught and stuttered herself into silence, unable to answer the question. He smiled kindly at her and she relaxed. He didn't seem mad she was essentially spying on them.

"So you like Naruto?" Tsunayoshi asked gently, and Hinata felt her face turning red along with her ears. The only thing keeping her from passing out was the comfortable presence her classmate provided.

She managed a small squeak and Tsuna laughed. Before the one sided conversation could continue, however, Tsuna became a distracted by a white owl that fluttered onto a sign above them. It had a fuzzy quality to it and when Hinata quietly activated her byakuran she realized it didn't have any chakra. Even gen-jutsu had echoes.

"What is that?" she whispered

"It's an illusion." Tsuna said in wonder. The owl raised its wings and flew to another sign further down the street. The boy started to follow as if in a trance and Hinata hesitated before following as well.

The owl led them through the village and the sun began to set. Hinata pulled on her jacket nervously; "Sawada-san I don't think we should…"

Tsuna turned to her suddenly and pierced her with orange tinted eyes; "Don't worry Hinata-chan. The owl is our friend."

She found she had no doubt at all and nodded, blushing. Tsuna grabbed her excitedly and they continued to follow the owl.

The road ended and the owl landed onto the sign for the Konoha hospital. It was here the owl stared down at them from the sign. Tsuna had a staring contest with it till he finally murmured;

"I understand."

Hinata gasped when the owl disappeared in a flash of indigo. Tsunayoshi turned to her again but this time his eyes were sad;

"Will you come with me to visit a friend?"

She knew that if she didn't get back to the compound soon she would be in a world of trouble. Despite this, she nodded; determined, surprised at her own courage. They slipped into the hospital and were mostly left alone as Tsuna led her by the hand.

Her classmate held no hesitation as he walked through the halls. He knew exactly where to turn even when he would occasionally pause; he would always pick right back up. Soon they were in front of a private room.

Tsuna hesitated before opening the door and walking in. Hinata peaked over his shoulder and saw the violet haired girl hooked up to life support; she was in a comma.

Hinata stayed in the doorway, feeling like an intruder when Tsuna slowly walked forward and held the girls hand.

"Oh, Chrome." Tsuna whispered softly. There was a soft glow of indigo light around her stomach before it disappeared. The girl's steady pulse started to speed up and the machines beeped in response.

Eyes the color of her hair snapped open and she looked to Tsuna. The boy helped her take off her breathing mask and she stared at him devotedly;

"Bossu."

Tsuna smiled and pulled a lock of her long hair behind her ear. Hinata shifted in the doorway and squeaked when she was almost bowled over by a frantic nurse. The nurse froze, and stared at the scene;

"I…I don't believe it." She breathed.

Tsuna turned towards the nurse and stared at her intensely; "Chrome-chan is a miracle."

(Kakashi Hatake-Herbivore-New Sensei)

Kakashi eyed his new genin hopefuls and inwardly sighed. The report the Hokage had given him stated that Sasuke and Naruto were good friends, best friends even, but everything he was observing seriously disputed the fact.

When he arrived late to pick them up the only one who seemed to notice was the pink haired one who stared at him in horror while the two boys were beating the snot out of each other. In between punches he caught them yelling something about tuna, of all things. He easily separated the two but that didn't deter them yelling about dates and times, complaining that it was their turn; supposedly with this tuna they were screaming about. Highly disturbed that the two boys were arguing about who would get to spend time with tuna like a divorced couple fighting over their child, he asked all three to meet him on the roof and shunsined away.

Now the two sat, facing away from each other, seemingly having come to an impasse, both stewing about their precious tuna. Kakashi had the strongest urge to go and bang his head against a wall, something he hadn't had any desire to do since he was in Anbu. Somehow, even though it seemed completely unrelated, he knew that the young bloodthirsty Anbu he served with back in the day was somehow, even if it was distantly, related to this new headache. And with that thought, Kakashi found himself having a horrible flashback.

-hibari flashback

.

.

"Um, Sensei?" The pink haired one mumbled. Kakashi blinked in surprise and hastily remembered he was supposed to be testing the brats. Not bothering to explain to them why he zoned out for the past five minutes he began the customary introductions.

.

Kakashi blinked and the memory faded. His first impressions of that monster were so wrong, as a ninja it was completely embarrassing. A fight had, of course, broken out and he was shocked at the ferociousness coming from the boy. He was also shocked at the general destruction that seemed to happen, especially since Kakashi wasn't doing anything more than dodging. Not to mention the kid wasn't even using chakra, it was all just brute strength! That amount of strength should be impossible! The last straw came however when spikes, spikes, protruded out of his weapons. Kakashi ended it quick, then and there, staring down at the unconscious boy in barely concealed horror.

It wasn't so much that the boy was terrifying in that moment, Kakashi was, of course bigger than him and faster, it was the potential. Truly, it was astounding. Kakashi knew that two, maybe even one year of hardcore ninja training would make the boy truly something to be feared. He almost wished the boy was part demon because knowing his luck, if the boy ever did become a shinobi of the village, Kakashi would somehow suffer.

And suffer he did.

Danzo had an immediate interest in the little "not-demon" demon. The Hokage, sensing disaster, drafted him immediately under his watch to be trained as an Anbu. Kakashi soon learned that the not-demon, now known as Hibari Kyoya, could hold a fatal grudge like someone…well, someone possessed.

The boy seemed to take deep personal offense that he was knocked out and taken to Konoha by Kakashi, despite the fact he was immensely pleased to be taken in for ninja training. Was that damn brat grateful at all? No, of course he wasn't. He sniffed Kakashi down like a demented blood hound constantly and was always making snide comments on his eating habits. Herbivore this, carnivore that, he even threw in an omnivore from time to time. He was a nightmare!

Let's not forget the extensive damages done to the Anbu hideout as well. It took forever to teach that brat respect and when questioned why he wouldn't follow the leadership of his captain he always gave a vague answer stating; 'The only man I will ever follow is that man.'

Like that was supposed to mean something. Kakashi sincerely hoped he meant the Hokage. Last he heard the brat was an Anbu captain and Kakashi felt bad for the men serving under him, though he knew how pleased the brat probably was. Though despite his horrifying qualities, Kakashi supposed he could respect the kids ultimate goal; protecting the peace of Konoha.

(Sakura Haruno-Genin-Fangirl)

Sakura was jealous.

Sasuke and Naruto fought like bitter rivals-but even she could tell it was just a front, a habit at this point. They were friends. They understood each other. It was easy for them to push her out of the picture when Kakashi-Sensei presented them with the two bells.

Why would they care about her when they could continue on together?

She had hope when Sensei told them about the real reason for the exersise. She was even more excited when Sasuke offered her some of his lunch to her. When they evetually passed and go on to take out missions and train together she wanted to work together.

The only problem was that ecen though they worked together on missions she still always felt like the third wheel. Even her Sensei seemed to spend more time on the boys. In, his defence Naruto was demanding and Sauke was constantly being reckless in thier spars but still.

She was jelous and annoyed. Not annoyed at Sauke of coures. Never. But the situation, yes.

She walked behind the group, dejected. They were proably set up to get another D-rank mission. They entered the mission office and she stood up when she spotted the Hokage behind the desk.

"Tsu-chan!" Naruto hollered and tackled the fluffy brown haired boy. Sakura's mood worsened. Tsunayoshi Sawada; Sasuke stealer. She huffed and looked at the boys Genin team she didn't recgonize the two older boys. She looked to thier Sensei then blushed horribly.

He was handsome and dangerous, she quickly adverted her eyes.

"Hatake-san, its been awhile." The man said smoothly. Sakura didn't know her Sensei to well at this point but could tell the usual lazy demeanor wasn't present anymore.

"Ah-Reborn-san…I didn't think you would ever take a genin team?" Kakashi-sensei asked hesitently eyeing the other genin team and giving the tall black-haired boy a dirty look.

It was the most espressive shed ever seen her Sensei. Sure, he smiled and teased them cheerfully but now in the face of these reactions it was easy to tell most of those emotions had been faked. Sakura wanted to kick something.

"Times change." Reborn-Sensei sent a terrifying smile toward his students. The smile wasn't even directed toward Sakura and she felt like she might wet herself. Tsunayoshi simply rolled his eyes while the other two barely reacted.

Sasuke seemed hesitent to edge away from Tsunayoshi while Naruto prattled in the boys ear, oblivious. Then Naruto suggested the unthinkable-the idiot.

"Can we do a mission with Tsu-chans team?" Naruto pleaded with the Hokage with big blue eyes.

Sakura quickly glanced at Kakashi-sensei, panicked. The man himself didn't look to hot-and the man wasn't already wearing a mask, Sakura was sure his face would have looked slightly green.

"Maa-I don't-"

"What a great idea!" Tsunayoshi interupted happily. He glanced to Reborn-sensei who shrugged one shoulder.

"EXTREME!" The silver haired boy yelled suddenly. Sakura flinched the boy who hadent said anything till then was suddenly waving his wrapped hands like a mainiac. The other member of the team stiffened his shoulders muttering something about crowding.

"Well…if you can't handle it Kyoya-"

"I can handle it!" The boy hissed at Tsunayoshi and the boy raised both hands in surrender.

The Third Hokage chewed on his pipe thoughtfully, a twinkle in his eyes. Something that felt like dread curled in Sakuras stomach.

"It would be good to get used to working with other teams…" The old man said slowly. Naruto and the silver-haired boy both jumber into the air excitedly.

"Yeah!"

"Maybe I'll give a C-rank…" The Hokage continued to mumble shuffling through some scrolls. Reborn-sensei reached over to pat Kakahi-sensei on the back though judging by kakashis weezing they werent friendly ones.

"It will be just like the old days, eh," Reborn's mouth twisted into a frightening, but somehow still suave, smile, "…brat."

Kakashi- sensei twitched before laughing nervously. Sakura gave her Sensei a dirty look, the man wasn't even try to get them out of this situation, that sissy. She opened her mouth, but the words died in her throut when black eyes glanced towards here.

For one terrifying moment Sakura felt like an insignifacant little bug under the mans gaze, like it would take barely a flickof his wrist to squash her. Then, the feeling was gone and he sweped off his strange hat and bowed lowly to her. He kissed the back of her hand (how did that happen!?) and looked at her from behind dark lashes.

"What a pretty little lady you have on your team, Kashi. " He eyed her and Sakura felt her face heat up. "I'm jealous."

"What is your name?" He asked smothly, straightening up from his bow. Sakura stuttered, much to her mortification and looked to her sensei for help. He was facing away nose in his porn-traitor. She glanced at her two teammates who werent even paying attention to her obsorbed by thier precious Tusnayoshi.

She sublty slumped and look up at the atractive man that was looking down at her expectantly but not unkindly. Her eyes fell to her sandals shyly.

"S-Sakura, Reborn-sensei."

"Does this Baka treat you right?" Reborn-sensei gestured toward Kakashi-sensei, who froze. "Did he explain to you the certain…dangers a kuinochi faces in the feild?"

Sakura looked up at him confused. The mans face darkened; "I see."

He turned toward Kakashi was looking over his shoulder, exposed eye wide.

"Seems you haent been a very good tutor, Ka-ka-shi." Reborn eunuciating each sylibal in frightening clarity.

Sensei gulped.

"How about this C-rank to wave?" The Hokages voice broke through the tense atmosphere.

Kakashi jumped on the distraction; "We'll take it!"

He shuffled away to the mission desk giving Reborn-sensei a wide birth. Sakura looked up at the tall sensei curiously, Narutos loud excited shouts echoing in her ears. Reborn-senset winked at her before walking away and kicking Tsuanyoshi into a wall.

"Constant Vigiliance!" He snapped, while the brown haired boy groaned pitifully. Sakura looked at Reborn-sensei, stars in her eyes.

Perhaps this mission wouldnt be so bad after all.

(Hidan-Jashinist-Talk Murder to Me-PreAktsuki)

Hidan wiped the blood off his cheek, grinning widely.

Another sacrifice to honor his God-Jashin. The shitty heathens deserved it, daring to imply his God was a farce. He swung his triple sythe onto his back and secured it. Stepping over the bodies he excited the bar-uncaring of the blood he was tracking as he walked.

He laughed loudly, facing angled toward the sky-just because he could, and reveled in the fearful whimpers of those around occupying the street.

"Jashin-sama curse you all!" Hidan roared at couple cowering behind a fruite stand. One of them foamed at the mouth and fell over. Hidan straightened up and nodded his head, satisfied. He stuck his hands in the pockets of his jacket and started stolling down the street-whisteling a pleasent tune.

The familiar patpatpatpatpat of a fast running ninja made him stop in his whisteling t and look behind him. A suna-nin was running full speed at him. Hidan's hand flashed to the handle of his sythe.

The suna-nin slid to a stop in front of the bar that Hidan had just masacrde the inhabitants of. It was a boy-probably a genin, because of how punny he was. Both hands flew up and clutched at his silver hair.

"Fuuuuuck!" He wailed. The boy looked in on Hidans handy work with a horrified expresion and Hidan beamed with pride.

"A beautiful sight, isnt it?" Hidan called from his spot down the street and the boys head snapped toward him, green eyes flashing. "They were sacrificed to my, God! No greated end"

"You mean to tell me you did that!?" The boy screamed, pointing to the inside, unkowingly stepping into a puddle of blood that was seeping out of the open door way. Hidan opened his mouth but was cut off by the brats screeching.

"My informant is dead in there you asshole!" The suna-brat seethed, stomping his feet-steaming coming out of his ears. Hidan's eye twitched in annoyance-yet at the same time the image of a younger him stomping around in Yugakure sprung up.

If he were anyone else he might feel nostalgia. But he was never known for having good impulse control.

"What did you call me you shitty brat!?" He yelled swinging his sythe making it hit the ground-the roud shaking.

The brat leaned forward; "ass-hole."

Hidan saw red. He charged forward, sythe swinging. The boy ducked and Hidan stuck his leg out but the boy jumped over it-rolling out of range of his sythe.

Taking a few running steps forward he swung down the blades of his sythe, making the ground crack where the boy had been just moments ago. He looked up, then flinched at the long cilender flying towards his face. Hidan hadnt seen such a thing before, but ninja instincts kicked regardless of this.

He leaned back and swung his sythe-the flat sides batting the object away, making them flying into the bloody bar. A second late-BOOM-bits of wood and concrete went flying.

Hidan jumbed back and dodged and when the dust settled spotted the boy on a roof across from him, looking down at his handy work gleefully.

Hidan jumbed back and dodged and when the dust settled spotted the boy on a roof across from him, looking down at his handy work gleefully. The brat stood up and dusted himself off.

"It's over asshole, I have the high ground!"
