Episode XXXII: Flubber And Other Softie Stuff
Recap: Okie doke. Basically a green bit of flubber fell from the sky and turned into a parrot-shaped thing, which is now sitting on Steph's shoulder.
Then Billie pulled Sarah aside and asked her a very tricky question… Something along the lines of "Did you mean it when you kissed me?" Phoar, a tricky one if I ever heard it!
Sarah opened her mouth to answer and said…
What will she say? Will she be interrupted? Why does Billie need to know this? Why was the flubber immediately put in the safe category? The next episode is HERE!
Sarah was silent for a few moments, before opening her mouth and saying, "YES! I meant it, okay? But I'm not supposed to!"
"WHY?" shouted Billie. "Why can't you mean it? Is there something wrong with me? Is there something wrong with US?"
"No," whispered Sarah. "It has nothing to do with you… nothing at all." She looked at him. Billie appeared to be very nervous.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" he pleaded. "Anything at all? Because I'd do it. I'd do anything for you."
Sarah smiled weakly up at him. She looked over her shoulder where Steph and Jack were walking away. Jack tried to wrap his arm around her waist, but Steph punched him playfully in the arm, muttering something about a 'bloody pirate'.
What she wouldn't give to be that simple, to love that easily. She doubted that Steph had accepted the fact that she was in love with Captain Sparrow, and thought that she was just having a bit of fun. But Sarah knew her twin better than she knew herself, and could read Steph like an open book.
She knew she couldn't be with Billie. It could never work because of an oath she had sworn to after being hurt badly by a boy. She had sealed the document in her blood. She remembered the day when she had cut open her thumb to use the blood. She remembered Steph's look of horror. But she had been set in her ways. She would not be hurt again.
Sarah knew better than to go back on her vow for fear of death. Now that she had kissed Billie, she knew it might already be too late.
"We should probably catch up with Jack and Steph," she whispered, not meeting his eyes. "Who knows what they might get up to without us chaperoning them?" Sarah attempted a laugh, but it came out short and hollow.
Billie smiled sadly and wiped away her tears with his thumb. He held out his hand and she took it. Together they walked to catch up with Steph and Jack.
When they reached them, Steph giggled, saying, "And you think WE're bad."
"But we are," said Jack, smirking. Steph giggled again, until she noticed Sarah's downcast expression.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
Sarah didn't answer, she just held up her right thumb, the one with the scar on it. The scar left over from when she had cut herself to seal her vow.
Jack and Billie stared at Sarah's thumb, not understanding.
Steph gasped.
Da da daaa! What's going to happen next? What was Sarah's vow? Why does it stop her from being with Billie? Where did the Slushe Machine go? What's with the Flubber? And, of course, WILL JACK LOSE HIS HAT?
