Surf Club - Angelo's
"Kyle's date seems to be going well." Ricky comments as she cleans some glasses, having agreed to cover the rest of his shift for him as she couldn't wait for them to get to know each other better.
"Yeah, once he started talking to her." Brax smirks, briefly glancing over at them before carrying on with the books.
"He's nervous, it was bound to go slow to start with. They look like they're getting on so well now. At least they already knew each other, so that makes it easier on them." Ricky says.
"They didn't know each other well by what Kyle was saying, which is why he's even more nervous. I think this is what he needs though." Brax says, knowing Kyle deserved true love after how hurt he was after his last relationship. "And if he can be happy, then maybe he can make things right with Heath and we can finally move on from their arguments."
"Brother's will still argue, they just might not have arguments as bad as that." Ricky says, having seen enough of them to know it wasn't normal for them to fight that bad.
"Casey never causes arguments, no matter how small they are." Brax says, not being able to remember the last time Casey started an argument with any of them, apart from after Kyle kidnapped him.
"That you know of, I'm sure he does sometimes." Ricky smiles. "It's going to happen and they'll be over small things. It's not something you can stop completely."
"What if all arguments are going to be from now on is this? Kyle and Heath haven't spoken to each other in days because Heath couldn't keep his mouth shut and preferred to take the side of a chick." Brax shakes his head.
"He did try apologising." Ricky says, knowing they had tried, it just didn't go well.
"Trust me, that was not an apology, it was just to get me off his back about making things right with Kyle." Brax says. "Kyle's stubborn anyway but I never expected it to go this far. Do you think I should try talking to him again at some point, try and get through to him?"
"You know exactly how that's going to end. If they are going to start talking again, it needs to be on their terms. Maybe give it another day or so, then if they're still avoiding each other, we'll work something out." Ricky says, understanding where Brax was coming from, as they thought they would have been talking by the next day, but they weren't.
"If it's on their terms we'll all be dead before they start talking. If Kyle got his stubborn side from anyone, it's Heath. They're as bad as each other." Brax says.
"Just give it some time." Ricky says before walking over to some customers that were ready to order.
Hours went by and it was nearly closing time in Angelo's. Kyle and Emily were still on their date, it's not looking like it was ending anytime soon. When Kyle went to get them more drinks, he asked his brother if they could stay there a bit longer as they weren't ready to leave. After some convincing from Ricky as well, Brax reluctantly agreed to it, letting him lock up when he was done on his date.
"It's so much prettier after hours." Emily says as she looks over the balcony at the ocean, Kyle agreeing with her, but he was looking at her instead. "You can't see this much of the sky when all the lights are on."
"It's even better from the headland, you can see even more of it." Kyle says, looking out over the ocean.
"Is that you planning our next date cause it sounds amazing." She smiles over at him.
"Yeah, I guess it is." Kyle smiles, amazed at how well things had gone between them after his nerves had left him.
"Then it's a date." She beams. "I've never seen it here at night before."
"It's really something else." Kyle agrees.
"I've really enjoyed tonight, I can't wait to do it again." Emily says, turning to face him.
"So have I, it went a lot better than I thought it was going to." Kyle lightly smirks.
"Yeah, I could tell you were nervous in the beginning. You didn't need to be, it's not like we were complete strangers." Emily giggles.
"Yeah, I know. I just didn't want to mess it up. I never even thought you'd go on a date with me to be honest with you. Your way out of my league, you could have anyone else." Kyle says.
"I don't want anyone else. You are so hot, I don't know why you need reminding of that." She smiles, getting a text on his phone. "That's my dad, he's in the car park when I'm ready to go."
"Oh okay." Kyle says.
"Sorry, he's really paranoid about me getting home safe." She says. "I told him it would be safe with you, but being his only daughter, he's extremely protective over me."
"I understand that." Kyle nods. "I'll walk you out." He says as she leans in to kiss him, it lasting for a few seconds.
"A true gentleman." She smiles as she gets her things together. "How about you let me know when you've next got a night off so we can go on our second date?"
"Sure, that sounds great. I think I might have a couple nights off coming up, I'll let you know." He replies with a smile, looking forward to hanging out with her again.
Once she made sure she had her things, Kyle walked Emily out to the car park, understanding what she meant when she said her dad was overprotective of her. When she had gone, he went back up to Angelo's to lock up before making his way home, unable to keep a smile from his face as he walked. He had fallen for her even more during the night and never expected to get a second date, he couldn't wait for it now.
Braxton House
"How'd you think Kyle's date is going?" Casey asks, briefly glancing away from the TV before focusing back on it.
"It seemed to be going really well when me and Ricky left. They were staying after hours, so that must mean it was going well." Brax says.
"Or they wanted to be alone." Casey mutters, smirking at his brother.
"Kyle's not the type to have sex on the first date." Brax says, drinking the last of his beer.
"They've already slept together so I don't think a first date would stop them." Casey says.
"As long as they clean up after themselves, I don't care what they get up to. Kyle's wanted this for a long time, it's been a pretty big deal." He says, Heath walking through the door.
"Where have you been?" Casey asks, wondering why he was getting home so late.
"Why're you two up still?" Heath asks, having expected everyone to be in bed already.
"We've just been talking." Casey says. "And Kyle was on a date with Emily tonight, he text saying he was on his way home."
"Right." Heath mutters, putting his hands into his pockets before shuffling.
"Can you sit down?" Brax asks, looking over at him. "I want to talk about some stuff before Kyle gets home."
"I'm not interested in anything you have to say about him." Heath says. "And I had a great night by the way, thanks for asking where I've been. I could have been dead in a ditch for all you knew."
"Would that have been a bad thing?" Casey jokes, getting whacked over the head.
"I was with a chick, her name's Bianca." Heath says.
"As in the one who slapped you when we first moved here because you tried it on with her?" Brax asks.
"Yeah, that's the one. We bumped into each other in Yabbie Creek earlier and got talking." Heath says. "She agreed to have coffee with me at the diner tomorrow."
"Yep, in a public place so you don't try and bone her." Casey says. "You have checked she isn't in a relationship or married, haven't you?"
"She was the one who told me she was single when she asked me if I was as well, so yes I checked, in a way." Heath says.
"What were you even doing in Yabbie Creek?" Casey asks.
"Not a lot." Heath shrugs.
"As long as it was nothing illegal, I won't be bailing you out if the cops turn up." Brax says, walking to the kitchen to put his empty beer bottle in the bin.
"It wasn't!" Heath frowns, walking into the hallway to his room.
"Do you think him and Kyle are ever going to get along again?" Casey asks.
"I don't know." Brax sighs. "I need to open Angelo's up in the morning, so tell Kyle I'll check in tomorrow." He says as he stands up.
"Okay, I'll be finishing this show before I go to bed. He should be back before then anyway." Casey says as Brax walks out to the flat where Ricky was already asleep.
