Chapter 7: Four Weeks Later...

For four agonizing weeks, there was nothing on Tommy. But, then, one night, while searching, the Justice League had converged in Gotham City and were on a rooftop, following a message someone had sent through the Batcomputer. They then spotted a giant Jack-in-the-Box. Batman motioned for everyone to stand back before he threw a Batarang at the lock, breaking it and bringing out a jack with a dummy head made to look like Chiroptera that revealed a grenade from which the pin fell. The Justice League took shelter as it blew, resulting in a shower of confetti. Batman walked over to the white cloth that had fallen off the dummy and looked at a symbol on the back. It looked like a diamond but had a rectangle in the middle with a single word.

"Arkham." Batman said, alerting the others.

Next thing you know, they were making a mad dash towards the asylum. The asylum itself had been moved to a newer high-security building. The old building had been abandoned and partially demolished. The Batmobile crashed through the front gate, busting it before everyone came to a stop in front of the door.

Batman kicked the door down and the Justice League walked through the empty halls, only hearing the eerie echo of, "Hush, little baby, don't say a word. Mama's gonna buy you a mockingbird. And if that mockingbird don't sing, Mama's gonna buy you a diamond ring.

Batman motioned for the others to stay back as he and Wonder Woman walked forward. They moved toward a door that said, "Operating Theatre." as the signing continued.

"And if that diamond ring turns brass, Mama's gonna buy you a looking glass. And if that looking glass gets broke-" Batman and Wonder Woman walked in as they saw the source was Harley Quinn, who was putting a vase on a table.

"Company!" she called to someone who was sitting on an upper balcony in front of a TV reading a newspaper. The person looked and revealed themselves to be the Joker, who smirked a sadistic grin as Batman and Wonder Woman recoiled in shock.

"Long time no see, Batman! And I see you've brought your wifey-poo with you!" The Joker said as he stepped down.

"Welcome to our happy abode!" the Joker said as he walked beside Harley. Batman and Wonder Woman walked up to them.

"Where's Tommy Wayne?" Batman asked.

"Tommy Wayne?" Joker asked.

As the rest of the Justice League snuck on an upward balcony, Joker said, "There's no Tommy here."

"Maybe he means our little Jay." Harley said.

"Of course! That's it!" Joker said before he pointed to a blue curtain.

The two heroes marched toward it before Harley said, "Uh-uh, no peeking."

She brought a bazooka out from under the table and shot, wrapping Batman and Wonder Woman in red thread. Superman readied his laser eyes to cut them out, but Batman motioned for him to stand down, which he did. As Joker and Harley Quinn walked past, Batman brought out a knife to cut himself and Wonder Woman free.

"You see, Batman, I'm sure you know I've been away for a good while. But, upon my return, i discovered that there were a few new people in town. New police commissioner, new Gotham, even a few new heroes. But, I regretted that we never got to meet any of them face-to-face. But then, we noticed you had a spare kid hanging around. So we introduced ourselves to him." Joker said before he and Harley pulled back the curtain, revealing an operating table that had someone strapped to it.

"He needed a little molding, of course." Joker said as he brought the operating table closer, showing that whoever was on it was wearing a purple suit like the Joker's.

"Say hello, Junior." Joker said, prompting the person to unstrap themselves and step into the light. It was someone made to look like a miniature version of the Joker. His skin had been painted white and his hair dyed green. His face was twisted so that he could only smile. He looked to be about 10 years old. But, the most distinctive thing about him was his haircut, which Batman and Wonder Woman recognized easily. It was combed to the right. They recognized that this 'Joker Junior' was none other than their own son.

"No!" they could only whisper in horror beyond anyone's imagination.

"This can't be!" Superman said.

That's when Tommy made the most chilling move. He started laughing a laugh similar to the Joker's, growing louder and louder. In fury, Batman and Wonder Woman burst out of the ribbon and Batman threw his knife at the Joker's head, hoping it would hit him, only for him to duck out of the way before he started laughing and rode off on the operating table before Batman and Wonder Woman followed after him, only to get blocked by Clayface.

"If you want the Joker, you're going to have to get through us!" Clayface said as the rest of the Rogues Gallery showed up.

"Let's see if you can handle all of us together!" Superman said as he and the rest of the Justice League showed up.

"All right, let's go!" said Firefly.
