Sage's Pokemon: Sapphire-Rockruff
Andy's Pokemon: Flareon

AN: I can't believe how dark this one turned, but it does get better, people! I promise! Last Chapter before Sage gets his Hogwarts letter.

DIFFERENCES:

-Sage will no longer be paired with Steven.
-Ash and Sage are the same age.
-Sage will be older when he goes to Hogwarts.
-All Pokemon up to Alola (galar) will be in this story.
-That does not mean that Unova, Kalos, and Alola Pokemon are common in Kanto, they are actually rare.
-Kanto will have Contests before they were originally brought in. For all we know, in the Pokemon Universe, maybe Contests existed there, but because Ash wasn't traveling with people who cared about Contests to begin with, he never noticed them. Many argue that Contests started in Hoenn (Anime Verse not Game Verse) when it is a known fact that Dawn(Hikari)'s mother was a Contestant in Sinnoh during her travels. I think they started in Sinnoh, moved to Hoenn, then slowly took over the rest of them. At least, that's my theory.
-Sterling will not make an appearance. I am still upset about Rollie, and cannot use Sterling any more. Sage will not have an Eevee in the new version. Sapphire will be my newest Muse, based my darling American Pitbull, Lil Mamas.

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, that belongs to the lovely J.K Rowling. I don't own Pokemon, for it is own by Game Freak, and created by Mr. Satoshi Tajiri. Any spelling or grammar errors are my own.

Please Enjoy Shiny Sage, and all that I have to offer in my writing. If you notice something wrong, please let me know.

Chapter Eight
You're a Wizard Sage!

Sage felt like he was floating on cloud nine. Life couldn't be better. The last two years had seen him traveling with Andy. The two were inseparable. They had a bond like no other. As they traveled through Hoenn, then Galar, and vacationed on Alola, no one could come between them.

"You really don't mind?"

"Sage, I need a break. It's been great, really." Andy placated, kissing his boyfriend's neck and sucking. "But I need a break from Gym Battles. We're fourteen and fifteen. I've won the last two years in a row. Going on a break won't hurt. I want to decide if I want to continue league battles, if I want to open a gym, school, or be a lab assistant. I figured a year of stress free time would help."

"Okay." The two began to kiss again.

"Oh man, I didn't need to see that!" The two sprang apart.

"Ash!" Sage whined, covering his face enough to hide the red. He could still see the boy that stood beside Ash. Sage tilted his head, curious. "Is that Goh?" The feminine boy blushed.

"Er, Hi! Yeah, I'm Goh. You're Sage, right?" Sage nodded, looking at his brother's hand, that still held Goh's. A smile crossed Sage's face.

"Yeah! Nice to meet you, Goh! This is Andy, my boyfriend." Sage grinned, grabbing Goh's hand to pull him down to the ground. "So, tell me, has my idiot brother been a good partner?"

"Well, I mean, yeah? He's my best friend, so every day is a fun adventure with him. He even convinced me to accept Scorbunny as my first Pokemon." Sage listened, nodding along, while he watched his blushing brother try to convince Andy to battle.

"I'm glad he has someone like you. Ash is a great person, but he's gullible. It's really easy to trick him." Goh nodded.

"Yeah, I've noticed that about him." Goh sat forward, face serious. "So, what are Contests like? Ash said I should ask you if I really want to know."

"They're amazing! It isn't just about showing off your Pokemon's power, its about showing how beautiful they can be too!"

"Hello again." Sage greeted the owl that landed on the table that he and Andy sat at in Slateport City. The Grand Festival just ended, with Sage actually losing to Nando. It had been a good run, but Sage was starting to see what his boyfriend meant.

"We really should think of a name for him. The owl clucked its tongue before using his wing to hit a cookie. "What? A cookie? You want one?" The owl looked at Andy like he was an idiot.

"I think his name is Cookie, Andy." Sage snickered taking the letter from the owl. Both boys were on their feet, Pokemon at the ready, when a loud pop was heard. Two men stood before them, sticks in hand. "Who are you? How did you do that?" The two stood side by side as Sapphire and Flareon growled threateningly.

"Great Merlin...Harry, this is where you have been? The Monster Islands?" The older man who made Sage think of Santa Claus, stepped forward. Sapphire growled, hackles raised.

"Headmaster, where are we?" The man in black asked, eyes sharp on the Pokemon.

"The Monster Islands. A place no Magical goes because many never return." The sticks were trained on the Pokemon, making Sage glared as he scooped up his partner.

"Who are you, and what do you want?"

"This is Severus Snape, and I am Albus Dumbledore-"

"The Headmaster of Hogwarts? From the letter?" Sage asked, frowning. "What do you want? I'm not magical."

"Sage? His name is Harry Potter." The black wearing man sneered. Severus, Dumbledore had said. Sage blinked at him in confusion.

"What do you mean? Do you know my parents then? Why did they get rid of me?" The men shared confused looks.

"Harry, your parents didn't get rid of you. They died. Murdered by a man who wished to kill you." Hearing this caused tears to fill Sage's eyes.

"They're dead? They wanted me?"

"More than anything. Lily was so happy." The younger man moved forward, hesitant as he lowered his stick. "You were given to your aunt and uncle for safety. Apparently, they didn't wish to have you with them. We've been looking for you for close to nine years now." Sage bit his lip, looking at a shocked Andy.

"Andy?"

"Magic is real. You have a murderer after you." Andy shook his head, backing away from Sage's outreaching hand. "I...I'm sorry, Sage. I can't! I can't do this!" Sage felt his heart break as his boyfriend pulled away. He spun to the flabbergasted adults.

"You ruined everything!" He screamed at the two. Andy was already walking away, taking Sage's heart with him. Tears began to fall. "He...he is the most important person in my life! How could you take him from me?"

"Harry...Sage," the dour man corrected at the glare. "Sage, if he couldn't accept that you have magic, he can't accept all of you. Magic is a part of you. You can't give it away, or pretend it isn't real. What if you ended up pregnant? How would he have taken that?" Sage looked back at the retreating Andy, letting out a sob.

The other teen's gait faltered.

"Andy, please! I love you. Don't you...don't you love me?" The other teen was frozen to the spot as Sage approached. Hands shook as Sage walked around to touch Andy's face gently. Green eyes closed tightly as Andy leaned into the touch. "I can't lose you." Sage pulled the other into a gentle kiss, the tears making it salty.

"I'm sorry, Sage." Andy whispered against soft lips. Arms encased Sage tightly. Sage relaxed, feeling as if he was winning. "I'm sorry. I just can't. I do love you...but how much of that is my feelings, and how much is it you enchanting me?"

"I can't do that! I would never do that. Please believe me!" But Sage was helpless as Andy called out his Kirlia and teleported away. Sage sank to the ground. Sapphire ran over, leaning into her Trainer.

"Harry-"

"Headmaster, we've done enough damage. You could at least call the boy by his adopted name!" Severus snarled, kneeling before the distraught teen. "Sage, I am so sorry this happened. Had I known that you were in his presence, I would have insisted we covertly appear. We had no right to tell him any of that."

"I want to go home now. I want the letters to stop. You've ruined the best thing in my life. He thinks that I...I enchanted him! That I controlled his feelings!"

"Sage, we cannot change that. Some people have an irrational fear of the unknown." Severus sighed sadly, pulling the boy into a hug. "I am sorry, though. If he hadn't apparated, I would have told him of the charm that allows one to know if they have any spells upon their person." Sage sobbed into Severus' chest.

"It isn't fair." The man shook his head when Dumbledore opened his mouth. "I don't want to be magic. Its why they dumped me on mommy and daddy's porch, right? Why else would someone abandon a child with a note that calls them a freak?" The man's arms tightened as he closed his eyes.

"I don't know, but Sage, you have to learn to control your magic. It could kill you, and your loved ones, if you don't. If you learn to harness it, you can even heal serious injuries." Sage looked up in surprise. "I shall accompany you to your home to explain to your parents. Albus, I will return as soon as he is set to come to Hogwarts." Sage sniffled as he pulled out a pokeball.

"Alakazam, I need your help." His father's Alakazam appeared, looking at Sage with worry. "Can you take us," he motioned to Severus, Sapphire, and himself, "to our house, please?"

"Kazam!" The Pokemon nodded sharply, swirling his spoons easily.

"So that is why he was abandoned on our front steps, in the middle of a thunderstorm, in thread bare clothing and ill?" Red boomed as Delia held Sage closely, crying. Severus nodded sharply. "And due to even more of your negligence, you cost my boy someone he loved! How insensitive can you be? I may have left my family to try and stop an evil organization, but I would have never harmed a child in the way you have!"

"Yes, well, if I had known the particulars of where he'd been sent, or that something had gone wrong, I would have taken him in myself. His mother was my best friend growing up. I made a vow to protect her son with everything I am. I was following my boss' orders when we port-keyed to where Sage and Andy were. If I had known a muggle (a non-magical person) was present, I wouldn't have appeared in the way I did."

"Mom, dad, what should I do?" Sage's voice broke. Delia held him tighter, eyes watering. "I don't want to chance running into Andy any time soon. To think he...to think that he would believe I could hurt him like that." Delia closed her eyes before gathering her strength.

"You're going to go to this Hogwarts, and learn everything you can." The voice had the group turning in shock to see Ash and Goh in the doorway. Severus eyed the boys, who had looks of steel in their eyes. Both with their arms cross. "If I needed a break, two years in a row, no one can blame a Top Coordinator if he wants to disappear for a few seasons." Sage felt his lips twitch.

"He doesn't have to go alone." Severus began, gaining their attention. "I can tell the two of you also have magic." Goh and Ash gaped for a moment before looking at each other with grins.

"This is going to be awesome! We can actually spend time together, and get you someone who won't care!" Ash cheered, pulling his brother into a hug. Sage laughed softly, soaking up the attention from the other. "Oh! When is Sage's birthday? We've been celebrating it on the 22nd of July, but I don't think that is it." Severus blinked in surprise.

"You mean they kept you until you were almost two? Your birthday is July 31st." Sage shrugged, before standing. "Where are you going?"

"If I'm going to be going to this Hogwarts place, I want to take a few of my Pokemon. I think Stormy, Sunny, Sapphire, Star, and Excalibur should go with me."

"Hey, then we can get you the thing that allows you to access the Pokemon Storage System that Professor Cerise gave us! I'm sure he won't mind. Who knows, we may find other Pokemon there!" Goh said in excitement. "Ash, lets do it!"

"Yeah!" Sage felt his lips tremble as he hugged both before darting out the door.

He had to be alone for a bit to collect his emotions.

Andy may have hurt him, but Sage was determined to show that he wouldn't allow for that to define him.
