Chapter 9: Toxicant

As Sam and Clover chased after the twins, they came to a part of the building where the twins split. Not wanting to separate from each other, the spies had no choice. Clover ran towards the right side as Sam headed left.

….

Not being able to catch up, Sam knew that the twin she was following would eventually lead her to a dead end or a trap. Sam would halt and begin looking around for a place to hang out for a little while until she saw the twins again. She saw some strong pipes and a vent that she could crawl into. Using the Expandable Cable Bungee Belt, Sam was able to make it above the floor and reach the fenced vent.

"Of course," she muttered as she began to play with the charms on her Multi-Purpose Charm Bracelet until she came across the saw. "There we go."

Sam then began sawing the fence from corner-to-corner and slipped inside to wait for the twins to make a loop back around.

"I hope Clover is doing alright," she said in a whisper.

Clover had already been hanging around on a sturdy pipe using her Expandable Cable Bungee Belt. She had lost sight of the twin she had been following since she split from Sam moments before. Things were very quiet. Soon, the voices of the two twins reached Clover's ears. Clover glanced down to see that the twins were right underneath her talking to one another.

"I lost sight of the spy in green," Whitney replied.

"I ran into the same issue with the spy in red," Willa paused. "However, I have a suspicion that we have eyes staring down upon us, sister. Let us pick up this when we find the spy in green."

Whitney agreed to what her sister said and they walked towards the dark filled corrorder in front of them. Thinking that she was safe to come down, Clover lowered herself with her Expandable Cable Bungee Belt to plant her feet on the ground. She looked ahead of her as the heart shape on her belt locked into place.

"I gotta get to Sam before they do," she muttered to herself quietly.

Before Clover could take a step forward, she felt sharp pains in her lower left side in her back and her upper right shoulder. Clover turned her head carefully as she screamed out in pain. What she saw would haunt her nightmares for the rest of her life. There was Willa and Whitney Reads grinning sadistically and their eyes glowing blood red. When they pulled out their knives, Willa stabbed Clover's arm to make sure that she stayed there.

"Let us find the spy in green," Whitney said.

Before Willa could agree, a blast of warm air had kicked the two of them away from Clover. The twins hit a wall and glared forward as they saw Sam standing there with the Evapo Blaster in hand.

"No one hurts my friends," she replied as she went to Clover's side.

"Sammy," Clover replied and managed to smile through her pain.

"I'm sorry I got here late," Sam said.

"Don't worry about it," Clover spoke. "Glad you got her-."

Whitney had thrown her knife and it had hit Sam in the left shoulder. Sam dropped the Evapo Blaster from her hand and fell backwards in pain.

"Let's get out of here while we have the chance," Whitney said.

"You're got going anywhere," the voice of a familiar male spoke.

When Willa and Whitney turned, they saw they were surrounded by WHOOP agents, Alex being in the middle of it. The twins cursed as they both pulled out two small vials from their dress pockets.

"You will never take us alive WHOOP," they said in unison pulling the corks off of the vials they held in their hands.

"No!" Jerry and Alex cried as they reached to stop them from drinking from the vials.

However, the twins guzzled the liquid that burned their esophagus as it flowed down their throat into their digestive system. Both girls fell to the ground. Jerry lowered his head and closed his eyes. Alex bent down to make a final check. She couldn't feel a heartbeat on Whitney. The poison was strong and killed her immediately. When she checked for a pulse on Willa, Alex felt something.

"Jerry, Willa still has a pulse," Alex said.

"We better take her to the medical unit as well as Sam and Clover," Jerry replied.
