Around a few hundred meters away from the town of our, let's use the word protagonists, a slim-looking alien ship landed between a few trees, which weren't helping much hiding it from view, especially against the snow-covered white scenery. But that mattered little when it had a cloak that made it invisible to outsiders. A door on the hull slid open and three figures of varying heights stepped out of the ship to look around. Among them was Myaxx, the Omnitrix wielding Galvan, and a large humanoid in a shiny grey suit that had a black helmet with a small green triangle visor on the front.
"This human settlement is where most of the Omnimatrix activities has been recorded?" the Galvan crossed his arms behind himself as he looked at the small town in front of them. "It looks subpar, even by human standards. What do you suggest we do, Tetrax?"
"Very few of the bounty hunters that you sent had fought them around this area, clearly the Omnimatricies wielders are trying to protect their home." The masked man explained. "If we attack the city and put the humans in danger, we would have a better chance to separate and then defeat them quickly."
"I'm not sure if I like the sound of that idea," Myaxx admitted. "We're getting the watches back from a bunch of humans, but can't we try talking it through first, before resorting to violence? Especially since the Omnimatrix Mark-Two is with them too."
"We must treat them as dangerous enemies especially because of the Omnimatrix Mark Two's involvement," The Galvan told her. "If the device Azmuth had sent to reclaim his creations has been captured and turned into their puppet, can we really expect them to willingly hand over these devices? Now is not the time to talk, we must act."
Myaxx nodded and walked back into the ship with Tetrax following behind her. Fighting a shapeshifter was tricky, fighting a shapeshifter that could gain different powers with each shape they take was twice as tricky. They had to arm themselves accordingly and using all of the data they had acquired from the bounty hunters that they sent after these humans for the last few months, they sure had enough information present to know exactly what they were going to face and what tactics were going to do best against them. The Galvan glanced at his companions for a moment until they disappeared from sight and then turned back to the small town in front of him.
"Watch this Azmuth. I'll show you how wrong you were turning down my ideas!"
"Whoooohooo!" Kalin screamed out loud as he jumped off his bed and made a rock-on hand sign. "School's closed because of the snow for the rest of the week, baby!"
"Kalin," Alexis called out to the boy, closing the book she was reading. "You said the exact same thing yesterday when the school was closed. We get it. There won't be a school for the rest of the week and you don't like going to school. You don't need to scream it every day."
"I do if it's pissing you off so much," Kalin replied with a grin.
"Whatever," Alexis rolled her eyes. "Since there's so much snow outside that we can't go anywhere, how about we teleport to the secret base and use the training facility to train your usage of your transformations a little more?"
Kalin stared at his sister blankly for a few seconds then turned to Alex, who was sitting in front of the computer, playing a game on it. After a few seconds, Kalin turned back to his sister and gestured toward their brother.
"Why must I work while he's going to just sit here?"
"We trained yesterday while you were sitting in here doing nothing but watching YouTube clips," Alexis crossed her arms.
"But I don't need extra training!" Kalin rebutted, crossing his arms confidently. "I've been kicking alien ass for five years now and got enough power to beat anything that can be beat using fists. If anything, you're the one who requires more training since you're always getting your butt kicked by whatever baddy we're facing."
"Then what about this?" Alexis raised her arm and her wrist split open, projecting a holographic screen with data on it. "That's the Omnitrix's information, including the transformations' usage and your efficiency with them. Out of the thirty transformations I gave you access to you've shown to be using frequently only Four-Armed and Conduct. You barely know what potential the remaining fourteen-fifteens of your transformations are capable of, or what techniques you could develop with them."
"I mean, what's the point in trying to outsmart a big guy using Big Brain, when four fists to the face is a much faster and surer way to win me a fight," Kalin shrugged. "Plus that, you know that I can get easily confused with all of those alien forms and their powers."
"You don't even need to remember their powers, the watch downloads their natural instincts and capabilities within your brain when you transform into them!" Alexis snapped. "I mean look, look at your management of your aliens' powers! It's completely atrocious even by your standards! You can't even do something as simple as generating a sharp crystal under a falling foe unless you get told to do it!"
"You should know that I'm not a very fast thinker." Kalin shrugged.
"Again, there's a difference in not being a fast thinker and not thinking at all. Yes, some forms such as Upgrade and Predatory could be hard to properly put to use, but you don't use most of your alien forms nearly as much as you should, and oftentimes you pick up Four-Armed when there are clearly better aliens for the job!"
"Tell me of one instance when that happened."
"The fight with Mira, an energy being that can easily block any sort of physical attack? The fight against the killer robot that controlled wind and that you couldn't lay a finger on? And that's only the times from the last five months!"
"That doesn't sound so bad to me,"
"For somebody who should have five years of experience dealing with that sort of thing?"
Kalin raised a finger and opened his mouth to respond, but before their conversation could continue, his and his brother's Omnimatricies flashed, as did Alexis's eyes. They were all receiving a message directly from Two-One, who was observing the town when he wasn't busy helping them with their various missions. Alexis's read the message in two seconds and turned to the others.
"There's an alien rampaging in the center of the town," she told them.
"What great timing for another attack," Kalin groaned as he walked over to the wardrobe and grabbed his black and blue snow jacket and matching pants.
Two green rings surrounded Alexis and her hair turned green and black, while her outfit turned into a white jacket with a green 10 on the back, white pants with green kneepads, and matching boots. Alex activated the uniform function on his Omnimatrix and scrolled down to the 'Winter Uniform' his watch emitting a red flash of light that turned his black and red hoodie into a winter jacket and gave him matching boots. He then also pressed the button on his ID Belt, activating it to give himself white hair and red eyes as part of his disguise.
After all three of them had put on their winter clothes, they ran into the closet, opening a secret room behind which was located the portal leading to their base. At least normally. But lately, Alex got his hand on the technology required to update it, so it could open wormholes to anywhere within a few kilometers, not just to another portal arc. With the coordinates having already been inputted by Two-One, the trio had nothing to do but walk through the portal, stepping into snow that was at the level of their knees when they emerged out on the other side.
What they came across was pretty much the norm for alien rampages, there were upside-down cars, the police was running away in a panic with at least a few of their cars having been blown up, some buildings were missing a wall or two, others were set on fire. There were screams coming from one of the buildings and when Alexis took a better look at it using the scanners in her eyes, she was able to read the presence of three humans inside. Oh, there was also the reason for all of the chaos, a bulky humanoid in a shiny grey suit with a black helmet standing on the burning wreckage of a destroyed police car.
"It's just one guy," Kalin pressed the button on his watch and the core popped up, showing a hologram of one of his aliens. "Let's deal with this quickly! I've got a game that I've been wanting to play all week!"
"Alexis, take care of the burning building," Alex gestured at his sister. "I and Kalin will take care of whoever that guy is."
Alexis nodded and morphed into Frost Ghost then flew off toward the burning building. Alex activated his watch and scrolled through his transformations. He slammed down on his Omnimatrix and in a flash of red light, he was replaced by a taller version of Cannonforce with a black pants-like design on his legs, and a red Omnimatrix symbol on his forehead. After a moment, he was joined by Kalin who had transformed into Four-Armed. The large red alien cracked his knuckles and launched his entire body toward the masked attacker with his fists pulled back ready to deliver a series of attacks.
Tetrax jumped off the wreckage he was standing on and slammed his fist into the ground, generating a large piece of crystal which shot out of the ground in front of Kalin and thrust into his stomach, knocking the wind out of him. Tetrax then ran on the crystal, using it as a ramp to get closer to Kalin's face, and then kicked him, knowing the larger alien down. The bounty hunter then quickly pulled out his blaster and opened fire and the orange sphere that was speeding toward him, but his blaster fire simply bounced off the alien's armor, prompting the bounty hunter to slam his fist into the snowy ground again, generating another crystal ramp, this time in front of the rolling sphere, which, unable to stop in time, rolled up the ramp and into the second floor of a building.
"That's almost too easy," Tetrax commented.
"Yeah?" Kalin stood back up and walked toward him. "Want me to make it a bit harder for you? Here!"
Kalin threw his fist at the masked alien's face, but he simply stepped to the left, dodging the attack, and took a small black ring off his belt, slamming it onto Kalin's shoulder, right over the Omnitrix symbol. The ring released a powerful electrical blast that knocked the large red alien down on his knees, as his body suddenly transformed into Thornshell with a single light blue eye and the Omnitrix symbol on his chest. The plant alien looked at his arms in confusion and then turned toward the masked bounty hunter.
"What did you do to me?" He asked.
"Nothing to you, but the electrical charge messed up with your watch," Tetrax explained. "Now that you can no longer control what aliens you turn into, it would be easier to do this."
The bounty hunter kicked Kalin in the face, knocking him on his back with a groan. Alex came out from behind, slamming into Tetrax in sphere form and sending him flying into the snow. The bounty hunter rolled over and got back up, firing his blaster pistol again, but just like last time, the blaster bolts simply bounced off Alex's armored shell. Seeing that it was indeed useless to try and make his foe lose balance with this type of attack, Tetrax morphed his arms into crystalized blades and charged him.
And as the fight on the street was ragging on, Alexis flew through the flames inside the house and tried to look around in the smoke. Though the fire wasn't hurting her in this form, calculating a way through which she could get the people out was going to be challenging. Alexis took a deep breath and then breathed out, her form's freezing breath quickly putting the fire around her off with frost managing to form on the ground and walls.
She was able to hear the screams for help coming from one of the rooms, but a part of the ceiling had dropped down and the wreckage was blocking the door. Alexis simply turned Intangible and walked through the burning wreckage, coming out in front of a man, a woman, and a little girl, all of which looked horrified as the humanoid moth came out of the flames with her cloak on.
"Stay back!" the father shouted and grabbed a dresser lamp, holding it in front of himself as he pulled his wife and child behind him.
"I'm not here to hurt you," Alexis told the man and walked past them, with the man moving as well, the lamp in his hand pointed at the strange creature. "I'm here to help you."
Alexis turned to look at the window in front of her and she breathed out, creating ice claws over her hand as she threw her fist forward, breaking the glass. She broke the whole window that way and then turned back to the family.
"Time to get out." She told them and then morphed into a tall humanoid made out of lego.
She jumped through the broken window and grabbed onto the frame with her arms, morphing her body into a staircase that went all the way to the snowy ground below. She was sure that being knee-deep in the snow was going to be a far more pleasant experience for the family than to have them burn inside their own home.
It took a few moments, with the family looked at each other, unsure if they could trust the strange creature, but seeing no other choice, they decided to use the staircase that Alexis had built in order to get to safety. They all climbed out of the house and started to make their way down, then two blaster bolts suddenly destroyed both the bottom and the top of the staircase. With her arms no longer holding onto the window frame and having no legs to stand on, Alexis's body quickly fell from the third story, along with the family.
Thinking quickly, Alexis regenerated her limbs and transformed into a sphere around the family as her body crashed in the snow below. She then quickly reconstructed herself, turning into a large wall facing in the direction that the blaster fire came from, as the three humans got up and ran away.
"You look good, Unitrix." Alexis narrowed her eyes, as the empty space in front of her face suddenly transformed into Myaxx holding a blank mask that resembled a human face; an ID Mask.
"Do I know you?" Alexis asked.
"I don't expect you to," Myaxx put a hand on her hips and looked at the other girl's green eyes. "I used to be Azmuth's assistant, but I left some time before he updated you into, well, what you are today. Do you at least remember that?"
"Of course I do. Why wouldn't I remember any of that? And if you have really been an assistant of Azmuth, why are you here, doing all of this?" Alexis morphed back into her humanoid form, then reversed back to a human.
"Why didn't you bring back the Omnimatricies?" Myaxx asked, then turned to look at the battlefield.
Kalin was throwing bombs from his back, which were falling all around Tetrax and exploding, while the bounty hunter rolled through the snow and fired several crystal shards into the boy's body, severing his head. He then turned around and created a crystal wall in front of himself as Alex tore through it in his crystal form, only for Tetrax to kick him in the side, knocking him over and forcing him to unroll into his humanoid form. Kalin's body grabbed their opponent's arms with two vine tendrils and threw him to the side while regenerating the head that it had just lost.
"Two or more of these devices cannot exist at the same time, less so in such close proximity to one another. Did Azmuth not tell you of the dangers that came from having multiple devices of this type so close to one another? One wrong move could result in the entire universe being torn in two!"
"That's not true!" Alexis shook her head. "The Omnimatricies have been updated after Azmuth lost them, the existence of multiple devices within close proximity would no longer result in the thing that you just told me about. They are safe now!"
"Don't listen to her. She has clearly had her entire mind rewritten." A new voice called out, prompting Alexis to look toward a street lamp that the newcomer was standing on.
"A Galvan?" Alexis narrowed her eyes, noticing the item he had around his stomach. "An Omnimatrix? But you're not Azmuth!"
"Indeed, I'm not." The Galvan stated proudly and pointed at himself. "My name is Albedo, another one of Azmuth's ex-assistants. Not a very good boss considering how many of us choose to leave him, or in some other cases, betray him. But despite all of that, I and Myaxx had come to the agreement that our dislike for him shouldn't stop us from doing what's good for this universe!"
"And because there are too many Omnimatricies in the same area, you decided to get another one here, is that it?" Alexis crossed her arms.
"Unlike the inferior creatures that live on this planet, I'm smart enough to know what I'm doing!" Albedo exclaimed and jumped off the lamb, slamming down the Omnimatrix core.
There was a flash of green light and a large green alien landed in front of Alexis. With two arms and two legs that were connected to a stone coral-like torso and three heads with yellow bulb-like eyes, the alien Albedo had turned into was one that Alexis had never seen before. But she had no intent on waiting to figure out what it can do.
"Turning into a huge alien to make your point?" Alexis morphed her body into a large alien wearing a heavy, dark green-teal oven-like containment suit with three slits through which she can see, the Omnimatrix symbol on her chest. "Are you sure Azmuth didn't fire you?"
"I'm sure," Albedo's three heads replied in unison and he fired a lightning-like laser from his eyes that him Alexis's armor.
"I didn't even feel that." Alexis put her hands on her hips, before noticing what Albedo's real intent was. The spot that his lasers had hit had turned into rock and it was starting to spread out to the rest of her suit, turning it completely into a rock in only a few seconds.
Even though her body was turned into stone, the red light coming out of the three slots on the top of the suit became brighter and brighter, then the petrified body began to crack with a red light coming out of it. Albedo's eyes widened and he crossed his arms in front of himself as Alexis's body exploded, creating a shockwave that knocked both Albedo and Myaxx down while sending pieces of rock flying in all directions. The large green alien shook his head and growled as he noticed a crimson figure flying above the suit's remains.
Made of pure red energy, Alexis's Meltdown transformation stood there in its true form, wearing a green bra and bikinis with white straps, a green belt with the Omnimatrix on it, two wristbands on both arms, and two knee braces on both legs. She smirked and flew off toward her brothers and blasted Tetrax in the back, knocking him down.
"This was an ambush!" Alexis exclaimed.
"Yeah?" Alex looked behind her and saw Albedo and Myaxx running toward them. "It's time we regroup! Two-One!"
A portal appeared behind the trio and Alex rolled through it. Kalin threw a few more bombs on the ground, creating a veil of smoke as Alexis fired several blasts of red radiation at their enemies and flew through the portal, which closed behind.
"They got away!" Myaxx exclaimed.
"Not necessary." Albedo slapped the Omnimatrix symbol on his chest and reverted back to his Galvan form. "Tetrax, did you get the coordinates of the portal?"
Tetrax took a device from his belt and opened it. "They blocked me."
"That would not be too much of a problem," Albedo narrowed his eyes. "They managed to escape this trap, so let's lay another one."
"Considering that they were willing to retreat and leave us with this human settlement, I no longer think that they care so much about their kind," Myaxx commented.
"I noted that. But they most likely still have a family here. After Alexis told them about why we're here they will have to choose to either run away or come back and fight us. If we say that we will, let's say, bomb this settlement, they won't have that choice and will have to come to fight us again."
"And what will you do if they don't show up?" Myaxx narrowed her eyes. "You aren't really going to destroy this human settlement, are you?"
"Now isn't the time to think about that." Albedo turned around. "There was what appeared to be a primitive abandoned factory on the western outskirts of this city, we could use it as the battleground for the rematch."
"Come on, what's with this stupid thing?"
When three siblings had been teleported away from the fight, Two-One had brought them to their base instead of their house, so now all three of them were standing in their real forms, thinking about what had just happened. Well, almost all of them. Kalin was the only one still in alien form and this wasn't out of his own desire. His Omnitrix just wasn't responding, no matter how many times he tried hitting the badge on his chest.
"Let me give it a try," Alexis sighed and pressed her hand against the badge. Her eyes gained their hourglass shape and after a few seconds, Kalin's body reverted back to human.
"Thanks," he muttered and looked at his watch. "I'm not sure what happened with it this time, but it's acting a little weird."
"Did they hit it with anything electric-based?" Alexis asked. "Because your version is still vulnerable to electromagnetic interferences. The Omnitrix should be able to work properly once it gets the electricity out of its system, but I don't think that we have enough time to wait for that."
"That guy with the three heads, he was an Omnimatrix user, right?" Alex asked.
"He said that his name was Albedo." Alexis nodded. "He and the octopus girl were former assistants of Azmuth, at least that's what they are saying. If they really have left, then it must have happened before I was brought online, because I've never seen them while I was still on Galvan Prime. But they said that they came to complete the job that I was supposed to do."
"You mean to bring the Omnimatricies back to their creator?" Alex sighed. "If that's why they have come, then they won't leave after just one fight. Two-One, do you have visuals on their current location?"
"They appear to be making their way toward the old radio factory, sir," Two-One stated. "Without a doubt, preparing an ambush."
"Let them, there's no way they could make us fall for their traps," Alex smirked. "I would have liked to also be able to hear them, but with an Omnimatrix user around, I don't want to risk sending Two-Two out."
"So what?" Kalin stepped up. "We're just going to sit around and wait for them to make the first move?"
"We're going to prepare ourselves, so we can counter them when they make their move!" Alex exclaimed. "You should know by now that winning a fight isn't as easy as just punching somebody in the face, especially when our enemy has the saw powers we do."
"Just great!" Kalin threw his arms in the air. "I had plans for today, and now all of them are ruined because of those bastards. I don't care what you say, but once we go out there, I'm punching them in the face!"
"Humans!" the trio turned toward the large computer screen on the wall, Two-One's face started to be distorted and then static appeared on the screen for a second, before Albedo's face appeared on the screen. "Don't waste your time trying to comprehend with your little brains how I hacked into our channels, all that matters right now is what you will choose. If you don't surrender the Omnimatricies, we'll be forced to destroy your settlement. And then, the next. And then, the next. You get the point."
"Ok, I'm really starting to doubt that this one had been allowed to work for Azmuth." Alexis frowned.
"Do not worry about how you're going to find us," Albedo continued. "I've been able to send our coordinates to one of your Omnimatricies. I'll be expecting to see you before the sun settles."
With those words, the screen turned black again, and after a moment Two-One's face appeared back on the screen with an apologetic look. He was trying his best to keep the enemy from finding out where they were, but he wasn't able to fight back against this attack on his systems.
"I'm deeply sorry for this sir, but I've been able to cover up our location when they took over the systems. At least for now."
"You did well, and thought fast to prevent this from getting any uglier," Alex smiled at the AI, then turned toward his siblings with a determined look on his face. "I know that they are just trying to trick us into walking into their trap, but considering their earlier display, I wouldn't be surprised if they go along with this threat and actually destroy the town."
"It's still like, ten in the morning I think?" Kalin said. "We got a lot of time to think about our next move."
"I see no point in thinking about it," Alexis argued. "They came to this planet and threatened its natives with violence and death. Assistants of Azmuth or not, I cannot let what they did go unpunished. I say we get there right now before they have the chance to set any traps, and beat them down. You both have a lot of experience from battling with Prototrix users five years ago, while Albedo doesn't."
"Isn't his species, like, super smart or something?" Kalin asked.
"And you're super stupid, yet that didn't affect your combat capabilities."
"Point taken."
Alex's car drove into the parking lot of the old radio factory and the trio walked out, then took a look around. There were no immediate traps that they could spot, and by using the scanners in her eyes, Alexis was able to locate the signatures of a Galvan, a Chimera Sui Generis, and a Petrosapien on the second floor of the factory. Alex swiped his fingers over the Omnimatrix, activating something, then nodded to his siblings.
The group walked into the abandoned factory. There were no machines, or anything really, all of the valuables having been taken when the factory was closed. All that remained inside were rocks and pieces of glass, a result of the factory remaining unguarded against vandals for over thirty years. The group walked up the stairs and into a long corridor on the second floor. Standing against them were the trio from before, Myaxx, Tetrax, and Albedo.
"You showed up faster than I expected." Albedo commented. "But you don't look like somebody who's coming to surrender."
"That's because we aren't," Alex replied. "If you want the Omnimatricies, you will have to fight for them. But I don't believe that you have the experience to put up a good fight, eh?"
"That might have been true," Albedo chuckled. "But unlike you, humans, I think my plans two steps ahead. Why do you think there were so many bounty hunters after you lately? I used them to gather data about your fighting styles. I might not be a fighter, but I know all about the way you fight."
"Then let's see you put it to use!" Alex exclaimed as he and Kalin activated their watches.
Green, red, and blue flashed through the corridor, and in the place of the three humans stood Alexis as Spidermonkey with green eyes and the Omnimatrix symbol on her chest, Alex as Healio, and Kalin as… Big Brain, wearing a black jumpsuit with a blue vertical stripe on the front, and a large Omnitrix symbol on his back.
"Argh! That's not what I wanted!" Kalin exclaimed.
"Now you know how I feel when I get the wrong alien," Alex smirked.
"That form…" Myaxx looked at the form Alex had taken. "This couldn't actually be…"
"He killed the Guardian of Life and stole his powers!" Albedo pointed at Alex. "This human's willing to doom the entire universe for more power!"
"Wait, I think you are-"
"I'm done listening to this clown!" Alexis shouted, interrupting Alex. She grabbed Kalin and threw him at the other Galvan, knocking him down. "Free for all!"
Fire burst forth from Alex's back, propelling the burning lion forward as he threw his fist at Tetrax's face, who dodged the blow and slammed his fist into Alex's back, pushing him down. Alexis jumped over the walls and fired a web blast over Myaxx's face, blinding the larger woman and then she kicked her in the jaw, knocking her down. Tetrax fired his pistol at the blue monkey, but she backflipped, avoiding the blaster bolts, and then fired another web from her tail that covered the barrel of Tetrax's gun, just as he was about to fire another shot. His weapon overheated with the blast being stuck inside and it exploded, knocking the bounty hunter back.
Myaxx tore the web off her face and grabbed Alexis by the tail, slamming her into the wall, then into the ceiling, and finally throwing her out of the building through a window. The girl fired a web from her tail that stuck on the wall and she began to climb back up. During that time, Albedo was lying on his back with his hands held out in front of his face as Kalin was throwing punch after punch, keeping the Omnimatrix wielding Galvan on the defensive.
"I've got enough of this!" Albedo kicked the other Galvan off himself and slammed the Omnimatrix core on his stomach, transforming.
His body grew larger and he became a brown humanoid rodent-like creature with a green and black jumpsuit and a pair of white gloves. He had black eyes with his ears located above them uncovered from the hood covering the top of the alien's head. He has a big blonde mustache and beaver-like teeth, the Omnimatrix symbol was on a green and white belt around his stomach. Albedo looked down at the other Galvan and smirked as his mustache grew and turned into several tendrils that he shot forward.
"Uh, oh." Kalin gulped and started running away, jumping and dodging the mustache tendrils that were aiming for him as he did.
Alex grabbed Tetrax's head, as the bounty hunter was trying to stand up and slammed it into a wall, leaving a noticeable crack in the structure, then stepped back, dodging a fierce kick from Myaxx and morphed his right arm into a cannon, firing a large fireball that connected with the humanoid squid and exploded, sending her flying through the wall that was cracked by Tetrax's face. Alex stepped aside as Tetrax jumped at him and then threw a kick that the fire-based alien blocked by crossing his arms in front of his chest.
"There's no point trying to run you, inferior specimen, of a Galvan." Albedo laughed as he wrapped his mustache around Kalin's body and pulled him off the ground.
"Just because he's stupid doesn't mean that he's inferior!" Alexis jumped throw the window and kicked Albedo in the face, knocking him over.
She grabbed Kalin and freed him from Albedo's mustache, but the latter turned his mustaches into a fist and hit her in the face, sending the blue monkey flying out of the window once more, but this time she hit the ground with a loud thud. Alex hit Tetrax in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him, and then wrapped his arms around his neck in a lock when Myaxx jumped on the burning lion's back and started to hit him in the face. The boy roared and fire burst from his back, propelling all three of them through the window, and onto the pavement two stories below, with all three of them rolling off each other.
Tetrax got up first and swung his arm-blade at Alex, who blocked it with the back of his arm, a part of which cracked under the power of the attack. He threw his fist at the bounty hunter's face, who grabbed it with his other hand. A web came out of nowhere and hit Tetrax in the face, blinding him for a moment, long enough for Alex to push his arm-blade aside and grabbed him by the waist, lifting him off the ground then slamming him face-first into the pavement once more.
Myaxx kicked Alex in the chest, knocking him a step back, then the fingers on her left arm spread out, turning into five tendrils that she wrapped around the boy's limbs and waist and threw him through a window back into the factory. She morphed her tendrils back into a hand and raised it in front of her face, as another web came her way, blocking it. The Chimera Sui Generis smirked and pulled the web toward herself with all of her strength, which also pulled Alexis. Myaxx clenched her fist and threw it forward, colliding with the face of the blue monkey, which she then slammed into the ground.
"Stay down!" Myaxx warned her.
"If there's one thing we're awful at that would be staying down when we're told to." Kalin, who was standing on Myaxx's shoulder told her then grabbed one of her hair tendrils and jumped off her shoulder, pulling it.
"Ouch!" She winched, a green flash interrupting her, as Alexis transformed into Amphibia.
Her version had five tendrils, four coming out of her torso and one coming from the bottom of her torso, a dark blue fin on the top of her head, and green eyes. Her body was noticeably smaller than Alex's version of the alien and the Omnimatrix symbol was on her chest. She placed two of her tendrils on Myaxx's shoulders and released an electrical charge that traveled through the female Chimera Sui Generis's body and she collapsed on one knee, breathing heavily.
"This fight is pointless!" Alexis shouted. "We aren't going to give up and you can't force me into switching sides! This isn't what Azmuth would have wanted!"
"Do you have a way to prove this?" Tetrax stood back up.
"Maybe not," Alexis narrowed her eyes. "But I have the means to prove that these boys, my siblings, are worthy to carry the power of the Omnimatricies."
Alexis flew back from Myaxx and pointed the Omnimatrix on her chest at the ground, projecting a green hologram. The hologram turned into full-sized versions of Alexis as Teleroll, Kalin as Overwatch, and Alex as Starset, holding Betox's broken body in his arms.
"The Guardian of Life," Tetrax muttered as he and Myaxx looked at the hologram Alexis was projecting.
"Still… inside me…" Betox muttered as he looked at the trio.
"Quickly put him on the ground, I'll try to use Fire Force to heal his injuries!" the holographic Alexis exclaimed.
"No…" Betox placed his claw against the Omnimatrix on Alex's chest. "Time… gone… successor…"
The spark inside the alien's eyes faded, as did the fire surrounding its rocky shell. His skin turned darker and fell apart in Alex's arms, leaving nothing more than a small flame, burning brightly in his palm.
"The boy was chosen to carry on the legacy of the Guardian of Life," Myaxx stood back up and looked at Alexis. "But the Omnimatricies,"
"Azmuth created me with free will and the ability to choose for myself," Alexis stated as she turned off the holographic projector. "Even before I arrived on this planet, there were stories about these two and how they stopped the Hacnurkann's Prototrix armies, so when Azmuth sent me to take the Omnimatricies back to Galvan Prime, he gave me the choice to remain here and look over them, if I find that their users are worthy and that there's no danger for the fate of the Universe!"
"Then, we must have made a mistake," Tetrax stated.
Back inside the building, Alex, who had landed in a large open room, shook his head as he got back onto his feet and prepared to jump back into the action. The only thing that stopped him from flying back out was the sound of footsteps and he turned toward the staircase. Albedo, still in his rodent-like alien form walked down and turned to face the human Omnimatrix user. There was no longer anyone to make him hold back, so he could go all out, defeat this weak human, and become a hero among his people!
"I was shocked to the core to see that you have the Guardian of Life's form in this watch," Albedo commented. "Perhaps I should take that watch for myself. Though it's inferior and partially broken, once I repair it, with the title of being the next Guardian of Life, I'll practically rule this entire universe!"
"Call me crazy, but something tells me that you aren't in this because you think it's the right thing to do." Alex narrowed his eyes.
"I've got the power of the Omnimatrix on my side, along with a superior intellect," Albedo pointed at himself. "Do you really think that you could take me on and come on top? Even taking your experience into account, that watch on your wrist is practically garbage!"
Albedo morphed his mustaches into fists and swung them at Alex, who turned his arms into cannons and fired fireballs that exploded on contact and set Albedo's mustaches on fire. The smaller alien panicked and started to back away while swinging his head, trying to extinguish the fire before it reached his face.
"It's hot! It's hot!" He exclaimed and slammed the badge on his belt, transforming.
The alien he turned into this time was a pill-bug like alien whose entire body was covered in white shell-like armor. He had four legs, two arms, a short tail, and a huge head the front of which consisted of a large mouth filled with sharp teeth. His yellow eyes were located on the sides of its head, giving the alien a binocular vision, and the Omnimatrix symbol was on his chest.
He rolled into a ball and charged at Alex, who continued to fire his arm-blasters. Fireball after fireball hit the incoming sphere, exploding and engulfing it in flames, but with little to no effect, as the bug-like alien slammed into Alex, knocking him down. Albedo then unrolled and jumped onto Alex, biting onto his rocky body and starting to eat through it.
"D-Dude! Don't eat me!" Alex exclaimed and slammed his badge, transforming into Armoredrill.
The large red alien pulled his fist back, the piston on his elbow, pumping out, as he slammed his fist into the bug alien's face, releasing a powerful shockwave on the impact that broke all the windows that were still intact, and sent Albedo flying back into a wall. There was another green flash of light that illuminated the room for a second and Albedo's previous form was replaced by that of a large blobby alien made out of sand which was emitted from the tubes of a grey box covered in green circuits with the Omnimatrix coming out of it.
"A digger, eh?" Albedo's alien form said, his voice coming out of the box. "Let's see how you would like a little sand!"
The alien raised his arms and the sand that created him burst, creating a huge sandstorm inside the room that surrounded Alex, who had to cover his eyes with one hand, as his body was starting to slowly be lifted off the ground. He slammed the Omnimatrix symbol on his chest once more, transforming into Starset, and created his solid-light bow. He summoned an arrow made of pure light and fired it straight through the grey box, breaking it and forcing Albedo to transform with another flash.
This time instead of taking the form of yet another alien that Alex hadn't seen before, the Galvan transformed into Sonic Boiz, with the only difference with his version being the green Omnimatrix symbol on his chest, and his green eyes and mouth. The small white alien duplicated into multiple copies that surrounded Starset and started screaming creating an agonizing dome of sound. Alex screamed and slammed his Omnimatrix again, transforming into yet another alien.
This time, he transformed into Overwatch, with his version of the alien being taller than Kalin's with small tendrils on his face resembling a beard. He still wore black pants, but his version had red stripes. He had red cuffs on his hands and the Omnimatrix symbol was on a red belt with a black stripe. The alien raised his arms and fired yellow beams from all of his eyes, destroying the Sonic Boiz duplicates, until the remaining copies decided to fuse back onto one and transform into Humanosaur, who was wearing black briefs with a white waistband, and a green and a black sash across his chest with the Omnimatrix symbol on it.
The humanoid dinosaur roared and swung his tail, hitting Alex across the chest with enough force to send the smaller alien rolling on the ground. Another red flash later, and Alex flew toward Albedo in the form of Fire Force. He raised his arms and released a wave of blue fire that burned the large dinosaur and sent him retreating back while covering his face with his hands. After a few more second, Alex's Omnimatrix started beeping, and the blue fire alien reverted back into an eighteen years old boy.
"Really?" Alex looked down at his hands. "You decided to run out of power, right now?"
"Fail… safe…" Albedo muttered as he looked at the tiny human with a smirk on his face. "Albedo's Omnimatrix… has no… Fail… safes! Albedo… Stronger… Albedo… Superior!"
Albedo pulled his fist back and then threw a devastating blow right at Alex's face. The power of the attack was enough to blow Alex's brain all over the floor. That was if it hit, which it didn't; stopped at the last second by a crystal barrier that was erected in front of the young adult, taking the attack in place of him. Albedo growled and turned back, standing behind him were Alexis and Kalin in their human forms, along with Myaxx and Tetrax, who had his arm raised forward.
"Betrayal?" Albedo growled.
"I'll admit that when I followed you, I did so in part to spite Azmuth," Myaxx told him. "But Mark Two was able to show us evidence that these humans deserve a chance."
"No… chance!" Albedo roared. "Omnimatrix… Mine!"
"Stand down!" Myaxx warned him. "You have only ten forms unlocked in that watch, Albedo! You won't be able to take us all on!"
"Wrong…" Albedo growled and turned the dial on his Omnimatrix, the core popping out. "Mine… not Omnimatrix… Albedo's Omnimatrix… Superior… Albedo's-… Ultimatrix!"
Albedo slammed the core and four spikes grew on his badge as a green aura surrounded his body. His Humanosaur form began to grow, dark blue armor grew on his shoulders and back, appearing like a shell covered in yellowish-brown spikes. The skin on his arms and legs tore open in a few spots, revealing black veins and metallic parts. Dark blue armor covered his chest and he grew a helmet covered in several spikes of various sizes. His eyes turned green and metal barrel-like tubes grew on his knuckles.
"I've never seen that form," Kalin commented.
"Evolved… Vaxasaurian!" Albedo roared, raising his arms.
"I should have guessed that he would add the evolution function to his watch," Myaxx narrowed her eyes. "He never stopped brothering Azmuth about adding that feature, ever since we were still working on the prototype version of the Omnimatrix."
"We can still win!" Kalin slammed down his Omnitrix and transformed into Stringer, with his version being slightly shorter than Alex's, with a smaller stinger on its tail, smaller legs, and was wearing a blue and black jumpsuit. "Still getting the wrong forms, eh?"
"Sorry about that," Tetrax told him.
Alexis morphed into Aerodactyl, wearing a white jumpsuit with green stripes and fingerless green gloves. Her eyes a warm green, matching the color of the Omnimatrix symbol on her belly. Tetrax raised his arms and fired crystal shards, which bounced off Albedo's hardened skin. The evolver Humanosaur laughed and raised his own arms, his tube-like knuckles shifted forward and his fingers retracted back into his arms, as his hands turned into four-barreled missile launchers.
He opened fire, and Tetrax generated a wall of crystal in front of the group. The rockets connected with the barrier and exploded, sending pieces of broken crystal shards flying in all directions as Alexis and Kalin flew through the smoke and charged the large dinosaur. The boy fired a volley of green slime from his eyestalks all over Albedo's chest and Alexis generated a green energy whip from her wrist, which she used to slap the large dinosaur across the chest, igniting the slime, which blew up under Albedo's face, and he stumbled back.
Albedo shook his head and raised his rocket gauntlets and fired his missiles on the two flying aliens from point-blank range, downing both Kalin and Alexis at once. The two siblings dropped on the ground, covered in burn marks and wounds, as their reverted back to their human forms, lowering the number of opponents capable of challenging Albedo with two.
Tetrax slid between the dinosaur's legs and sliced them with his arm-blades, dropping the large beast on its knees. Albedo growled and swing his tail, which had a mace at its end, slamming the bounty hunter across the face, and breaking the black helmet he was wearing. Tetrax took a step back, dazed, as the remains of his helmet fell on the ground, showing his face to be almost an exact copy of Diamondguy, with a small beard on his chin. Using his opponent's confused state, Albedo shifted one of his missile launchers back into a hand and grabbed the Petrosapien by the head. He slammed Tetrax's body into the ground, burying him into a small crater. One challenger left.
"You know," Myaxx took a step back. "I don't care enough about what happens with those damn watches!"
"Smart…" Albedo growled and raised his rocket launcher arm, pointing it at her. "Too… Late…"
Albedo fired a few missiles around Myaxx that explode on impact with the ground, engulfing her in the flames as her body was flung back from the explosions. She looked up at him, then collapsed on the ground. Zero.
All of them were defeated in an instant. Albedo turned around triumphantly, facing the last enemy he had to get rid of. He pointed his rocket launcher at Alex's head, a single barrage should be enough to send the human's body parts flying all over the room. But he wasn't afraid. Alex narrowed his eyes and looked up to Albedo, red eyes meeting green, as the two of them stared in silence, surrounded by the unconscious bodies of their, now former from Albedo's perspective, allies.
