The sun set peacefully under the hilltops. As it went, it left behind wildly bright colors, a deep dark red, luxurious purple, bright yellow and an energetic orange. The heat that it created throughout the day, didn't leave just yet. It continued to fill the air with an unmistakable warmth, one that Collette basked in from the highest point of the sheep's pen.

"Collette." She looked behind her, one of the sheep was speaking. "Shouldn't we head into the barn now, it's getting pretty late."

She took one more moment to enjoy the fresh air, before turning in the direction of the rest of the sheep. "Alright guys, that's enough grass for today, c'mon time to go inside."

"Oh what!"

"Just a little longer!"

"I'm still hungry!"

"This is the last time I let Stormé talk me into looking after the sheep for the day." She thought in good spirits, while rounding the sheep up and leading them in the direction of the barn. "She probably had a blast with the cows."

Once all the sheep were safely in the barn and only muttering a few more complaints, Collette made herself comfortable by the door, where she could watch as the Sun left entirely and as light turned to darkness.

She spoke quietly to herself. "Such a beautiful- umph!"

A sudden collision cut her off. "Haha! I got you Aunt Collette!"

Collette looked up at the energetic puppy who had been practicing his hunting skills on her. He was wagging his tail happily.

"Good job Grant!" She praised him, making him even happier. "You'll be hunting rats like your mother in no time!"

"Thanks Aunt Collette!" He jumped on top of her back, tail never ceasing it's endless wagging. "Can you tell me the story now? Please! Pretty please!"

"Oh right, I did promise you didn't I?"

He nodded his head eagerly.

"Well-"

"I hope you two weren't thinking of starting story time without me."

Collette grinned happily, as Stormé walked up, her fur partially wet from...something.

"Aunt Stormé you're back!" Grant ran around her legs.

"Back? We saw each other just a little while ago."

"I know!"

Collette and Stormé both chuckled. She made room for her friend, who was taking in the warmth of the air as well.

"I'm never taking the sheep again by the way." Collette said.

Stormé yawned and answered slowly. "Tell that to me after the cows spill all their water on you."

"Really? No."

"Yes." She put her head between her paws and closed her eyes. "Are we gonna' get this story going or not? I could use something to put me to sleep."

"Okay, okay." Collette cleared her throat. "Once upon-"

"Hold on! You said yesterday that you wouldn't start story time without us!"

Grant leaped up from his position once more. "Hi mom! Hi dad!" He went to go greet his parents. "You wouldn't believe how I snuck up on Aunt Collette! She said I'll be hunting rats just like you mom!"

"Is that so?" Grant's mom looked at Collette, who only rolled her eyes.

"Alright settle down now Grant." Grant's father spoke in his deep voice. "It looks like you're Aunt Collette wants to start story time now." He cleared his throat. "But before that...uhm...Stormé."

Stormé peeked an eye open to look at him. "Hhm?"

"The cows had a few complaints and I just thought that I should-"

"Dad!" Grant looked crossly at his father.

"Oh alright!" He conceded. "It can wait 'till morning."

Collette smiled at the scene before starting. "Once upon a time..." She told them a tale of happiness, a tale of that which she had truly, after a long time finally found and as Stormé lied there, listening to the tale, she drifted to sleep, glad to have finally done what her mother told her, glad to have finally pursued happiness.
