Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of When Dusk Falls. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Destiny, Bungie and Microsoft do.
(Nessus.)
Sam sat on a statue which was flanked by a pair of captains who wielded shrapnel launchers.
Sam leapt down from the statue before walking towards Thaviks. He could see dusk members crawling over the station, checking out weapons, talking, or busy salvaging anything they could.
Sam hummed as the dusk assassin turned to look at the kell. He brushed off his cloak.
"Any word from the others?" Sam asked and got a shake of the head. "Makor, Tikor? Take Breviks and find that crew… Thaviks? Go lead them there. I'm going to talk with Raksil." Sam ordered and hummed before he walked away.
Thaviks turned to the dusk baron. Sam kept his lieutenants close. He knew the future of the house rested on leadership.
"Why should I take orders from an assassin?" Breviks questioned and stepped up to Thaviks.
"Kell entrusted me to hunt wolf lieutenants…" Thaviks stated and walked on artificial legs to the new dusk baron. "You are new. We are same rank, baron… Obey kell, or I will take your head." Thaviks hissed as he stalked past the baron.
Thaviks watched Sam pass inside past a pair of wretches who stood guard at the ruins.
Thaviks had a bad feeling about this moon. He'd bring up said feeling at the next meeting the house met.
(With Sam.)
Sam looked at Raksil who stood in front of Brandaks who was surrounded by dusk members. Shanks floated around the metallic orb as Sam walked up to him.
"How is it?" Sam questioned and passed by a pack of dregs who turned to their kell. "I've ordered the other crews to take anything important to the ships." Sam stated and planted his hands on his hips.
Sam knew how the house was busy recovering from the assault of the cabal. Dusk was the future of the fallen, and Sam was the leader of said future.
Part of Sam was amused by the fact that he had gone from being a simple guardian… To the leader of a small empire that consisted of thousands of Fallen.
"The legion did not find servitor." Raksil stated as he turned. "The ether will survive. Dusk will survive, my kell." Raksil added as Sam crossed to the archon.
"I'm glad you took over the house when I was gone." Sam said and crossed his arms. "I wish this was like the war with the house of wolves. That was something we won hands down." Sam added with a hum.
"We will survive the cabal…" Raksil stated as he rested his molten wielder on his shoulder. "They are an army. We are a clan. They do not fight like we do." Raksil added which caused Sam to chuckle as he rested on a pillar.
"We have 5 ships, Raksil." Sam responded, gesturing with his hands. "They have endless soldiers and ships. How many soldiers do we have? We aren't expendable. The cabal? Their throw a small army away just to gain a single city. We can blow up a dozen of their ships, it wouldn't matter." Sam stated and cracked his neck.
Raksil looked around at the various crews of dusk soldiers. They all came from various banners, Exile, Devil, King, Wolf.
They had come together after dozens of losses. Raksil had spent that time wondering if they had died out permanently. Then came Sam.
The guardian had led them to victory over Skolas. They wiped out his army and made the remnants bow to them. They had survived the cabal and grew into a small army once more. The whirlwind which laid waste to their civilization hadn't killed them.
And it was due to Sam's leadership that the Eliksni had been graced by the great machine.
Raksil knew very much that the House of Dusk wouldn't be anywhere near as powerful as it was now.
"Dusk is you." Raksil said as he stalked over to the human kell. "We live because of you. Eliksni like us wouldn't survive. You are not tempted by greed like other Kells. You are not arrogant enough to throw lives away. You are kell of Kells… And the Eliksni depend on you… I wish to ask a question." Raksil said as Sam nodded.
Before Raksil could ask the question, a captain entered, flanked by a pair of dregs. The two dusk leaders turned to the captain as he stalked up to Sam.
"My kell? There has been a disturbance." The captain reported which made Sam hum.
"Tell me the question later, Rak." Sam said and turned to the dusk soldiers surrounding them. "Anyone who isn't needed here? Come with me. I'm investigating it personally." Sam ordered which caused the dusk soldiers to nod.
They followed the human out of the chamber, leaving a small crowd of dusk fallen and Raksil.
The archon turned to the servitor prime and shook his head.
