Day 60: (Special) Valentines day
Raven Castle
7:16 AM
Gerard quietly drank his coffee watching everyone hurry around to help his brother prepare a surprise for Misaki. He shifted his gaze left and right watching them move up and down to make it all right before she came down for breakfast. He didn't see what the big deal was and why everyone was energized to help his brother who could clearly do it all alone. The way he saw it, Takumi could've just picked out a gift, have someone wrap it up, and then give it to Misaki when she woke up. Simple.
A nice little-
He paused his movements wondering what gift his brother could possibly give Misaki. The woman was so strange and hard to read. Would she take a bag? No, no. She didn't seem too interested in those. She didn't care for the jewelry as much either since he rarely saw her wearing something besides her wedding ring and a necklace.
Gerard was even more curious when he saw Takumi place a bunch of bags on the corner. "What the hell is in those?" He wondered thinking about what Misaki would like.
Shoes? No. Clothing? No.
Gerald closed his eyes, whilst tapping his fingers on the counter as if it would solve his question.
Car? No. Cookbook. Hell no!
He quickly opened his eyes. Gerard had heard the stories of Misaki being in the kitchen and had warned both of them if she ever burned down the kitchen in the castle, he would sue both of them.
This was why he always concluded it was best to not be in a serious relationship. Couples spent too much time worrying over what to give their significant other or their partner for the moment. He mostly sent Cedric to pick out a gift and there have never been any complaints on his part. Life was so much simpler for him compared to his brother who would have a hard time preparing gifts for someone like Misaki. He pitied his younger brother.
Gerard stood up from the barstool he sat on by the kitchen counter, finished with his morning coffee. He took one last glance at Takumi who didn't mind everyone wanted to take part in his planning. There were several heart balloons up, dozens of roses, champagne, chocolates, and more.
But if the chocolate were placed everywhere, what was in the bags? More chocolates? What was Takumi giving his wife?
Gerard turned away to leave, giving up on his answers. Books!
Was he giving her books?
Gerard turned back to his brother, who was making sure the bags were placed where he wanted. The bags definitely looked like they could contain books. But just to sure, he wanted to check. He walked over to Takumi before his curiosity could kill him. Gerard snatched a bag off the table which startled Takumi.
Takumi watched as Gerard opened a purple bag he had for Misaki.
Opening the bag which somehow felt light, Gerard knew this one wasn't a book so what was it? He removed the pretty paper and looked at the gift. He instantly glared at Takumi after seeing the gift.
"You pervert," Gerard said shoving the pretty paper back into the purple bag. His curiosity had officially left the room and he wished he never even thought about it. "I should've known it was something stupid."
"Why did you peep at a couple's gift? Lonely older brother?" Takumi teased his brother. He took a rose from a bouquet and handed it to Gerard. "Here, happy Valentine's day."
Giving him no response, Gerard walked away mumbling to himself. On his way out he passed Misaki walking in.
"Good morning," Misaki said to Gerald who seemed annoyed. What was up with him so early in the morning? She shrugged her shoulders concluding today would be moody Gerard. "Good morning," She said to Takumi when she walked further into the kitchen.
Everyone else but Takumi rushed out to give them some privacy.
"Morning," Takumi replied seeing his beautiful wife. Everything had finished just on time. "Happy Valentine's day Misa," He welcomed her into his arms, kissing her lips briefly in the process.
Misaki looked around the decorated room. "What time did you wake up for this?"
"Around five but I had some help."
Misaki stepped out of his embrace. "I should've brought my gift for you downstairs."
"I can't wait to see Misa has prepared for me this year but for now, let's open your gifts. Start with this," Takumi said handing her a red box.
Misaki gladly took the box and opened it. She gasped seeing a diamond tiara. She looked at Takumi completely speechless.
Takumi took the tiara out of the box and placed it on her head. "Because you're my queen," he smoothly replied.
"Of course. Now I have to get you a crown. Did someone open that bag?" Misaki questioned seeing a purple bag looking open.
Takumi snickered remembering the expression from Gerard when he opened the bag a few moments ago. "Gerard was curious about it. We'll save that for later. Open this next one."
"Chessy," Gerard softly commented seeing the tiara Takumi gave Misaki.
A/N: Happy Valentine's day!
