Chapter 138: Death of a God
Ares fell to the floor, groaning. This hadn't gone as planned. He had thought he'd have an entire army of Gods to help him, instead it had just been himself and Phobos and Deimos. They were both dead, and now he felt as though he was going to die.
"Father, why did you abandon me?" He muttered to himself.
"Because you have been nothing but trouble." Zeus said, appearing before him.
Ares looked up and blinked. He'd not expected his father to come before him. "What?"
"You have been trouble for a long time. Ever since humans were created, you have been difficult." His father said.
"You preferred humans to me." Ares replied. It was true, his father had doted on his bastards.
Zeus sighed. "There never was going to be a restoration war."
"Why?" Ares demanded.
"Our time has come. Just as my parents' time came." Zeus said.
"So, you're just going to let the humans handle everything?" Ares asked disgusted.
His father snorted. "Not the humans, but Superman and Diana? Yes."
"So, what now?" Ares asked.
"Now?" Zeus replied. "Now, you die."
