Author's Note: I have finally finished this long story. It's been quite the ride. There were moments I wasn't sure I was going to finish it, and then moments when I couldn't put it down. It took about 6 years to finish it, but it's finally done. This chapter is all Clexa, so you should enjoy it. This chapter is exactly 7,500 words of pure Clexa goodness. After a conversation with a reader, I'm fairly certain their will be a sequel so keep your eyes open.
I hope you enjoy the final chapter of this story. It was a pleasure writing it for all of you to enjoy. I hope to see you next time. :)
Epilogue
Two months after ALIE was destroyed, it was the day everyone had been waiting for. The day Clarke and Lexa would be unified, or married, depending on who you asked. The idea of being unified started as a ploy to prevent anyone from the Marsh Clan trying to marry strength, it ended up becoming so much more.
When Lexa had decided to do that, she wasn't expecting anything from it. She did it to protect Clarke. At that moment, they weren't anything. They were friends sure, but that was it. Lexa made a point not to push Clarke. It was Clarke's decision if she wanted more with Lexa or not. What came after… she wasn't expecting.
They fell in love. In the worst circumstances known to man, they found something in each other to love. Now they were here. On this day. Ready to see what else life would send their way.
Lexa walked out of the tower to find Clarke riding in on a horse, "Hey, how was Arkadia?"
Clarke swung her leg off the horse, "It's good. I'm still getting used to calling it that. I get the reasoning for changing the name after everything Jaha did, but it's still so strange. How's it been here? How's the preparations going?"
Lexa's look of excitement dropped as she shook her head, "Do not get me started on the preparations."
Clarke handed the reins of her horse to one of the nearby warriors, "What do you mean? Wedding planning isn't your thing?" She asked before stepping in to place a brief kiss on Lexa's lips.
"I do not understand why we cannot just get it over and done with, why does it have to be a spectacle? With our history, the ground might cave in causing us to fall in a hole, or another army might come come into-"
"I get what you mean, but it can't be that bad, can it?" Clarke placed a hand on Lexa's back as they walked in the direction of where the ceremony would be taking place later on that day.
As if on cue, Sierra came running in their direction, "Clarke, I am so glad you're back. Maybe you can make an actual decision." Before Clarke could ask Lexa, she continued. "Oh don't ask Lexa, after what happened with the arch, she has made it clear she does not want any say in the ceremony."
Clarke looked at Lexa with a confused face, at which point she dropped her head shaking it.
"I am sure I have some sort of a council meeting, I will see both of you later," Lexa placed a kiss on Clarke's cheek. With that she was off toward the tower.
"See?" Sierra motioned to Lexa. "This is what I've been dealing with. As soon as I start talking, she comes up with an excuse to walk away."
"Well, what happened to the arch?" Clarke asked, wanting to understand why Lexa cut off all decisions after that point.
Before Clarke had left for Arkadia about four days ago, Lexa had been finishing off the arch she'd been working on the week prior. She had put a lot of effort into it, carving shapes into it, and everything. Clarke was honestly really excited to see the final product.
"It broke," Sierra deadpanned. She didn't elaborate, she just left it at that. "So I need you to decide how you want the seating to be set up. We could set up some benches… maybe some logs.." The look on Clarke's face told her she wasn't getting away with just saying 'it broke.'
"Sierra. What happened to the arch? Last I was here, Lexa was almost done creating the arch she'd been working on for over a week. How did it break?" Clarke crossed her arms, standing her ground for an actual answer.
Sierra swallowed nervously, "Well… you see there was… some sort of an accident."
"An accident.. What kind of an accident?" Clarke asked. She wasn't about to let Sierra get out of this. This day was supposed to be a day for both her and Lexa. She wasn't about to spend the day with Lexa pissed off most of it.
"Okay, Lexa finished it…" Sierra stopped to think about which day it was exactly. "Two days ago. We set it up but…" She stopped again trying to figure out the best way to describe what happened. "Well… it seems that the people that set it up didn't consider that it gets windy." She looked over her shoulder to the left at Octavia and Raven, who in turn shrugged. "Raven has assured me though that she is trying to fix it."
"The wedding is today," Clarke pointed out the obvious.
Sierra nodded, "Yes, I am aware. She has assured me that it will be fixed by the ceremony."
"Okay, so why is Lexa still so mad," Clarke asked, trying to understand why Lexa would be mad if they were fixing it.
"She doesn't know that we're trying to fix it," Sierra explained. "We didn't want to get her hopes up if it wasn't fixed in time."
Clarke dropped her arms shaking her head, "Well it all makes sense now. What is there left to do for the ceremony?" She asked, understanding what was happening.
"Well… I still need…" Sierra rattled off her list to Clarke, and they walked off together to make the last preparations for their day.

Titus walked into the throne room to find Lexa standing in place staring at her chair in thought. "Heda, is there anything I can help you with? Should you not be getting ready? Helping with the remaining preparations?"
Lexa looked to her left watching Titus come into view, the stern look on her face said all he needed on the topic of the unification. She continued on her thought, "I am trying to decide if the setup of the chairs needs to change or not, after today."
"Why would it need to change? You are the commander of the twelve clans," Titus reminded Lexa.
"Thirteen," Lexa stated. "While you were gone, skaikru joined the coalition."
Titus nodded, "Right, forgive me, it slipped my mind. If that is the case, then Clarke would have been the ambassador for them, would she not?"
"Yes, she is," Lexa answered.
"Then I would worry less about whether you should change your position of the chairs, and more about who will represent Skaikru after today," Titus stated, thinking that Lexa would understand what he was saying and agree.
She looked at him confused, "Why would I do that?"
"Forgive me Heda, but the other ambassadors may think that having your wife as another ambassador would mean always having a vote for whatever you want," Titus tried to explain his side of things.
"Clarke thinks for herself. There have been plenty of conversations throughout the time we have known each other where we have disagreed. The Tondc missile for one thing. She wanted to tell people, she fought me on it. I have never known her to follow what I say. If anything she has convinced me to look at things differently. She has made me a better leader because she thinks about the whole picture, and not just what is in front of her," Lexa argued. "If anything she is more likely to not vote for what I want than be for it."
*KNOCK KNOCK*
Lexa turned to the direction of the knock, "Enter."
The door slowly opened to reveal Bellamy, "Can I speak to you?"
"Heda?" Titus asked, waiting for instruction.
"Leave us," Lexa lifted her left hand to instruct it, waving him out as she turned to face the new face in the room. Titus walked past Bellamy, and closed the door as he did. "If you are here to yell at me about something, can it wait until another day?" She asked him, choosing not to look away as she was still wary of his trustworthiness.
"I wanted to, but then I overheard what you said to Titus," Bellamy answered, sounding genuinely sincere.
"And…" Lexa pushed him to continue his thought process.
Bellamy swallowed nervously, "From day one, I have been against you. I have always believed that you were trying to change Clarke, trying to make her into something she wasn't…"
"Bellamy, as I said, today is mine and Clarke's day, I do not want you staining it with whatever nonsense you have to say, so I will say it one more time. Leave," Lexa stated very clearly.
"What I am trying to say, is that I am sorry," Bellamy finally came out and said it. "When we first landed, we didn't have the greatest time with your people in the beginning. Then you came along, and Clarke clung to you. She stopped listening to me, and listened to you. Which made me jealous. I had this person that stuck by me through thick and thin, and then she was gone. What I didn't realize was that she had found herself in you." Bellamy paused to let that sink in.
The stern look on Lexa's face slowly softened at the last line of Bellamy's speech. He was right. She hadn't thought of it like that before. For so long, after everything with Costia, she thought she would be alone. Then she met Clarke. This person that had a similar history to her own. They had both done horrible things to become the revered Commanders they are today. One doesn't get the title of Commander of the Blood for tending to some flowers everyday. She got that title for all the wars she'd won, for getting her hands bloody and dirty, winning fights that others thought impossible.
Clarke was the same. She'd made choices that killed hundreds of Lexa's people, gaining her the title of the Commander of Death.
"She found strength in you because of the things you had done, the similarities. I never realized that until just now. You've never wanted her to be you, you've never wanted her to do what you want-"
"I would never force Clarke to make a decision based on what I wanted," Lexa cut in to reiterate what she'd been trying to tell him this whole time.
Bellamy nodded, "I understand that now. I hope that you and I could work together in the future to make our two people better."
Lexa was thoroughly surprised at what she was hearing, "I would like that." As Bellamy made his way to the door, Lexa stopped him, "Bellamy."
Bellamy turned back to face her, "Yeah."
"I understand that guns are what you know, but get a knife or a sword. Last we spoke in that field, you could have stopped my assault had you had a better weapon," Lexa suggested. "I could train you if you wanted."
"I'll think about it," He said before opening the door and leaving.
Lexa turned back to the chair still unsure of what to do.

Several hours later, it was mid to late afternoon, the sun was going down but still provided plenty of light for the ceremony. It was early Spring so it was still relatively chilly outside but this Spring day, it was on the warmer side of the days. Even so Clarke and Lexa chose to wear warmer clothes for their unification.
With Sierra, Octavia and Raven's help, Clarke was able to deck out one of her jackets with different kinds of layers, using pieces of aluminum, and fabric to add a filigree type design on her jacket for the day. Sierra spent time after they finished the preparations outside, to braid the top of Clarke's head down behind her into one long braid.
Lexa on the other hand enlisted Anya to help her out. In grounder culture, it was someone that meant something to them that helped with outfit choices. She would have liked it to have been her mother or father, but they had died long ago. Since Anya was found alive, she volunteered for the project.
Lexa hadn't learned much about this side of things, sure she knew the story of how to be asked to unify but the actual process? She was a novice at best. Her entire life had been about war. Training for war, fighting in wars, that was her forte. Weddings? She had no knowledge. Not to mention, it had been drilled into her for years that 'Love was weakness', and that 'commanders live alone.'
She figured that was part of the reason she hadn't wanted to be that involved in the set up, because a part of her thought she'd screw it up.
Lexa sat in her throne room waiting for Anya to arrive with her jacket. Anya had the seamstress in the village create a new commander jacket, just for this occasion. That way if something happened, she'd already be ready for a fight.
"Anya, before the sun goes down would be better!" Lexa shouted from the chair. She wasn't sure if she was frustrated or just nervous. She was leaning more to the latter.
Afterall, this was the day. The day that she would pledge loyalty to the girl from space, just like the legend had said. They would be unified today, set to live the rest of their days together. She couldn't be happier, but she also couldn't be more afraid. She was comfortable making decisions over things in war, but this…
Anya walked through the door moments later, with the new jacket, "You think you are nervous now." She scoffed. "Here is your jacket." She held it out to Lexa to put on.
Lexa stood from her chair, "Anya.. it is…" She couldn't find the words to properly convey what she was feeling.
"Yeah yeah, just put it on so we can get this done," Anya answered a little harshly trying to distract Lexa. She did it more for herself because she'd watched Lexa grow up, and was getting a little emotional thinking about this day.
Lexa chuckled realizing what Anya was doing, "You should listen to your own advice." She put her right arm through the sleeve, before the left. "Do you think Clarke is going to like it?"
Anya helped Lexa tighten and attach the buckles, just like her original jacket, "Yes." Is all she said. It had a similar style to her normal jacket, but this one had dark hints of blue and red through the material. It was a simple design, but the overall concept of it was more than enough. It brought the legend to life in one design, the girl from the sky falling in love with the leader of the ground. The concept flowed through the design with hints of blue throughout the top of the jacket, hints of grey and white in the middle, down into red throughout the bottom of the long jacket stretched to her feet.
"What if she says no?" Lexa asked, once the jacket was properly secured.
Anya stared at Lexa sternly, "If she says no, it will give me a chance to get her back for beating me in that fight after we escaped Mount Weather."
"You cannot hurt her," Lexa stopped Anya on her tirade of thoughts of violence.
"If she hurts you, yes I can," Anya answered, as she turned around, walked the distance opening the door to leave the throne room.
"No, I will not allow-"
Lexa had followed Anya out the door to continue yelling at Anya when she spotted Clarke down the hallway from them.
"You do not have to worry about that Heda," Anya smirked, motioning toward Clarke. She hoped Clarke was in the hallway to stop Lexa's argument. It worked.
Lexa swallowed nervously, as she walked in Clarke's direction where the elevator was, "You look…" She couldn't get the words out.
Clarke nodded, "You too." She couldn't help but to look her outfit up and down. "How did Anya pull that off?"
Lexa shrugged, "No idea." She did, Anya had explained it but she'd honestly lost all track of what the question was.
"Are you ready for this?" Clarke asked, waiting for the doors to open. She could see Anya lingering about a meter or two behind Lexa, and she suspected Sierra was the same behind her.
Lexa didn't know how to answer the question. Was she ready to spend the rest of her life with Clarke? Yes. Was she ready to experience the one thing she'd never thought she'd experience? No.
Lexa's silence was answer enough for Clarke, "I feel the same."
Lexa looked over at Clarke smiling at her answer. She put out her left hand, and Clarke intertwined their fingers. "This will be a day we will never forget," She whispered.
The doors opened for the elevator.
Sierra and Anya walked in after Clarke and Lexa, "So Anya, you ready?"
"I think the real question here is, are you ready?" Anya asked back at Sierra.
"Yes…" Sierra answered, not very convincingly.
Anya looked at her shaking her head, "I believe you." She answered sarcastically.

The doors opened on the main floor a few minutes later.
"I am," Sierra argued.
"We will see," Anya added to the conversation before walking with Clarke and Lexa to the ceremony. "Lexa, you and I will walk down the aisle first and then Clarke will walk with her mom, got it?"
"Wait, my mom is here? I thought she was helping with your clan?" Clarke asked Anya, confused at the information she'd been given from someone at Arkadia. "Actually now that I think about it, even Kane was missing at Arkadia."
"Everyone came here in secret," Anya answered, without really saying who was there. She looked over at Sierra and gave a nod to cue the music.
A slow drum started, and a female started singing a sweet song in trigedasleng, Sierra walked to the front, "Please stand-up."
Anya put out her right arm for Lexa to take, before they walked down the aisle to the front. Lexa noticed Yuki, Riku and Happy, before her focus left the crowd and went to the arch. Her arch. It wasn't an arch anymore, just two pillars but she knew those designs anywhere. It was hers. She was focused on the arch, and wanted to know why no one told her it was still being used.
As they reached the front, Raven stepped forward, "I found a way to use it. I hope you like it?"
Lexa gave a nod, before standing in front of Anya to her left, Raven stood back to Anya's right next to where Clarke would be. She looked back down the aisle toward Clarke. Her eyes trained on her now.
Clarke wrapped her hand around her mother's arm.
"Take a deep breath," Abby suggested.
Clarke did as instructed before they started walking down the aisle. She spotted Warrick, Aleksy and Clyde from the Marsh Clan, her friends. The ones that had helped her train for her challenge. When they let her win. They say she won on her own, but she still doesn't believe them that she was able to win against all three of them.
She didn't look at them long though as she looked forward and couldn't help but to stare at Lexa. Even without war paint, she still looked fierce as ever.
They arrived at the front moments later, Abby reached out for Lexa's hand, "Now, take a deep breath, you two," She said as she placed Clarke's hand on Lexa's.
Clarke stepped into place in front of Anya to her right, facing Lexa, seeing Sierra standing behind the commander, she held onto Lexa's hands. "We made it," She whispered.
Anya stood between the two pillars that were once an arch, "If you could all be seated, we will begin."
It took a few moments for everyone to sit down, there were several different warriors from different clans, including those mentioned but also Morad from the Marsh Clan, Kane, Indra from Trikru, Octavia, Lincoln, and even Bellamy.
"Welcome everyone from clans far and wide, we have come together to celebrate the unification of these two commanders." Anya started off saying. "We, on the ground have believed that even in death, we will see the one we love beyond life, as life on the ground is never a sure thing. You might die tomorrow, or months from now. These two have chosen to see how long that eternity will be." Anya stopped for a moment to let that sink in.
Clarke vibrated with excitement, so much so that she couldn't stop smiling.
Lexa kept her eyes transfixed on Clarke's ocean blue ones. Something about the idea of looking at an ocean, calmed her.
"I have known Lexa for as long as she can remember, almost an older sister, a trainer, even a friend. I taught her how to fight, how to command a room, even how to deal with strangers. If I was still 'alive' when she had met Clarke, well things might have gone differently for them," Anya paused as the room started laughing at the implication. "From what Indra has told me however, I do not believe I would have had much effect."
Sierra couldn't help but to chuckle at that statement. She looked over and saw Anya glaring at her, "Sorry." She whispered.
"Strength is drawn to strength and that is what I believe happened here. They did not see the titles, it was about their character. It is not hard to see why these two were drawn to each other. When Clarke and I escaped Mount Weather together, I recognized what I saw in Lexa, within Clarke. That fire to push forward no matter what the cost. At that moment, I wanted to help Skaikru. Lexa saw what I saw even if I was not there to tell her," Anya looked upon Lexa for a brief moment, before looking at Clarke. "Without a doubt, I do believe that these two would have found each other one way or another. Whether by torment, or not. We would be here today."
Sierra was standing behind Lexa, a tear falling down her cheek from the sweet speech. She looked into the crowd and noticed similar reactions.
"Leksa Kom Trikru, do you take Klark Kom Skaikru to be unified in all of eternity?" Anya asked, already knowing the answer.
Lexa took a deep breath as Abby had instructed, adjusting how she stood feeling nerves wash over her as she looked down at their joined hands. She looked up into blue, and the nerves disappeared, "Clarke, while it took some time for you, I knew I wanted to be in your orbit from the moment you defied me and stopped my order to kill Octavia."
"Wait what?!" Octavia whispered semi-loudly from the crowd.
Lexa heard Octavia, but pushed the thought out of her mind to continue, "No one had dared do that before. First you saved me from the Pauna, which was unheard of in my culture, then you wanted to find a way to save Tondc by starting a fire. But no one has ever defied me and gotten away with it. You did, with no care for yourself. Whether you knew even then that I cared for you or not. I knew that even if you did not want me on that level, that I would stick by you. Without a doubt, I Leksa Kom Trikru will love you, Klark Kom Skaikru for an eternity and beyond."
Clarke felt tears filling her eyes at the heart felt speech that came out of Lexa's mouth.
"And do you, Klark Kom Skaikru take Leksa Kom Trikru to be unified in all of eternity?" Anya asked, looking from Lexa to Clarke.
Clarke let go of Lexa's hands for a moment to wipe at the tears about to fall from her eyes, before joining hands again, "Well, how do I follow that. I was not expecting that. What can I really say? We met under the worst circumstances, and after that our entire relationship was mayhem but through it all, I fell in love. I hadn't realized it until you were hanging off that cliff… When you let go of me, I realized you were the one. It wasn't the greatest moment to realize that but I did."
The crowd started laughing at the amusement of realizing when she loved Lexa.
"You were what I was searching for... When I hadn't realized I was searching for anything, there you were. You didn't push me, hell you didn't even catch on when I randomly kissed you during our time in the Marsh Clan. To be fair I told you it was nothing, but it put everything into perspective. You were it for me. Which was why I put all that effort into learning to fight, I had something worth fighting for. It was you. You are what makes me want to live. When we first landed here, after I killed so many of your people with the blast, I stopped caring about myself because of all the bad I'd done. Then you came around, and for the first time, you didn't see what I did as a bad thing. You saw it as something I had to do… to survive. You changed everything for me. For the first time, I, Klark Kom Skaikru, wanted to live that life with you, Leksa Kom Trikru for all of eternity," Clarke finished off feeling more tears filling her eyes from the love she was feeling in that moment.
Sierra gave Clarke thumbs up for her speech. She'd taught her the significance of the ending sentence and some variation of that sentence needed to be in there. It signified that they wanted that.
Anya let a smile slip, "With that, Commander Lexa and Commander Clarke have joined together for all of eternity from life into death, you may now kiss to commemorate your unification."
Clarke moved the distance, and their lips met in a sweet kiss full of love.
Lexa wrapped her hands around Clarke's waist, pulling her close, melting into her.
Around them the crowd had erupted in applause, standing up at the excitement of the moment.
Lexa put out her right hand for Clarke to take, "Are you ready?"
Clarke nodded, linking her fingers with Lexa's, before they walked down the aisle side by side to start their life together.
XXXXXXX
About an hour later, Clarke and Lexa were sitting at a long table that had been set up in front of the Polis tower as a make-shift reception area. There was a dance floor in front of their table, and other tables around the open space.
Abby and Kane were sitting next to Clarke, and Anya and Sierra next to Lexa. While neither Sierra nor Anya were related to Lexa, they were close enough to be sisters.
As warriors were finishing their plates of food, Anya stood up, "I hope everyone is having fun." She was interrupted with whoops from the crowd. "At this time, I would like to invite anyone who would like to say anything to the two commanders up here. Sierra?"
"Why are you looking at me?" Sierra asked, feeling attacked.
"You said you were ready…" Anya pushed, wanting to see if she actually had something prepared or not.
"I am…I just didn't want to go first," Sierra defended as she got up from her chair slowly, bringing her mug with her. "Lexa… You and I have been on many adventures throughout the years but this one would take the cake. Clarke came into our lives… Don't look at me like that, she's my friend too." She cleared her throat at the looks she was getting from other people, feeling a little embarrassed she felt the need to defend herself. "Anyways, I might have lied to you, hurt you, but in the end, you found this person of equal status that can help me win more battles against you. You are going down the next time we get together for our quarterly game of flag football."
Lexa shook her head, "What makes you think she would not be on my team?"
"Right… I am sure she would choose you over me," Sierra looked at Clarke, giving a wink. At which Clarke nodded back.
Lexa happened to see the brief interaction, "No, you are not stealing my best chance at beating you."
"We will see now won't we," Sierra added.
Everyone started laughing, but especially Anya because the speech Sierra gave was exactly what she was thinking it was going to be. Ridiculous.
Raven stood up next looking over at the new couple, "Clarke, it has been a shitstorm the entire time we've been on the ground. Never ending but through it all, I am glad you found someone to hold onto. You found this oddly, fun to be around, a person that is similar, but different to you. I cannot wait to see what adventures we go on next. To Clarke and Lexa."
"To Clarke and Lexa," The crowd lifted their cups shouting the names.
Aleksy stood up next, "Clarke, the three of us would like to say that while we cannot confirm or deny that we may have let you win that fight with us, we would do that again anytime you asked. Maybe this time, we can fight you at full capacity. I cannot speak for the others, but I would want to see how much you have grown. So come by the marsh clan whenever you can. Heda, you can come too." He added at the end sitting down.
"Wow, way to put us on Heda's radar," Clyde chided Aleksy as he sat down. Aleksy shrugged at the response.
Yuki stood up next, "Well, I can honestly say that I am glad I jumped into that freezing water to save the both of you. We have been through a lot together. I am excited to see what the future will hold for us." He put his cup up in the air, before sitting back down.
"What Yuki meant to say," Riku stood up next to Yuk to speak, "Is that we are happy that we came into your lives. We used to just be a couple of scientists trying to find solutions to things, and now we have new friends."
"What he said," Happy added, wanting to be a part of the conversation without having to stand up with a whole new speech.
Abby stood up next, "Clarke, you did it. You found someone to spend your life with. I am so proud of you. Lexa, while I do not know much about you as we haven't had much time to talk to each, I know you will protect my daughter with everything you have. I know she is in good hands with you. And you with her. Welcome to the family."
"Awe Mom, that was so sweet," Clarke said, standing up to wrap her mom in a hug for a moment.
The speeches continued for the next little while, laughter ensued here and there, some were emotional, but in the end anyone who wanted to say something, were able too.
Anya stood up again, "Now, this is where things get interesting. In grounder culture, we usually end these things with a competition, but in skaikru culture, they end it with a first dance. Clarke and Lexa, it is your decision which you would prefer?"
Lexa looked to Clarke, "Are you ready?"
Clarke nodded, "Yes."
"So… Which is it?" Anya asked, not getting an answer.
Lexa stood up from her seat, with Clarke getting up with her, "Before Clarke left, we had decided what we were going to do." Clarke walked over to a stand off to the side as Lexa continued, "Dancing has never been something she and I have ever done, unless you count our training sessions. While having a sword fight would be in our wheelhouse, we decided on a compromise."
Clarke walked back over with two bows and quivers, "We decided that a competition would be better. One that tested our concentration, our ability to focus, and trust each other."
Anya looked at Clarke curiously.
"Octavia and Lincoln set up a target practice for us in which we will blindfold each other trusting the other to guide the arrow to the target," Clarke explained. It was an idea that Lexa had when they were deciding what they wanted to do.
"It is definitely unique," Anya stated. "If anyone would like to watch, follow us."
Lexa, Clarke and most of the crowd walked over to where Lincoln and Octavia had set up the targets. It was in a nearby field, they used barrels, rocks and bricks to hold up targets at varying heights. There were only six targets as they weren't entirely sure how successful this would be. Maybe it would work, maybe not. The targets were about twenty-five meters from the line created to determine where they were to stand.
They hadn't had any chance to practice this idea, so it was just that, an idea. They had no idea how the logistics would work. Would they just talk, would they touch, they had no idea.
Lexa decided to go first because she'd shot many arrows in her life and figured she might not even need to see to hit the target. She walked over and positioned herself in front of the target she was to try to hit first. She pulled out a piece of black cloth from her pocket, placed it over her eyes and tied it behind her head.
Clarke picked up a bow, and handed it to Lexa to get a feel of it in her hands, before handing her an arrow to notch in the bow. She stepped back behind Lexa so that she could see where Lexa's bow was aimed. It was just a little high. "It looks like your aim is a little high, lower it a little Lexa."
Lexa lowered her aim a little, but then she appeared a little off center.
"Okay, now you need to aim a little to your right," Clarke instructed, which Lexa followed seamlessly. "It should hit now."
Lexa let go of the arrow, it whizzed through the air, hitting the target. It wasn't in the center, but it was close enough. She pulled off the blindfold, and was honestly a little shocked it actually worked. The crowd watching erupted in excitement.
"Well, I can see why this was a good idea now," Anya stated understanding now where this idea came from.
"Clarke, it is your turn," Lexa said, handing the bow and blindfold to Clarke.
Clarke swallowed nervously, unsure of whether she would be able to achieve the same results as Lexa. She was okay at shooting an arrow but not on the level of Lexa, by any means. Lexa helped her put the blindfold on as she go a feel for the bow in her hands. She was positioned in the opposite direction as Lexa, as she was left handed. Her left foot faced toward the target, her right hand holding the notched arrow.
Lexa stood back, and directed Clarke the best she could to get the same results. When Clarke let go of the arrow however, it whizzed past the target just by a few centimeters.
"Ooooo…" Some of those in the crowd gasped at the miss.
Lexa handed her another arrow, "I have got you." She whispered to Clarke, as she moved to stand behind Clarke, her body in alignment to Clarke's. "Lift your arm," Lexa instructed, Clarke did as instructed, notching the arrow and holding it in place to let go. She lifted her left hand, running it along Clarke's left hand holding the bow, until it was at her hand. "Lift it slightly," the bow moved up slowly. "Now," She placed her right hand on Clarke's waist, "Turn your waist slightly to the right, you'll get more power."
Clarke swallowed nervously as she started to lose concentration on the task at hand.
Lexa moved her hands around Clarke's body, positioning the arrow in hopes that it would hit the target this time, "Let go."
Without even processing what was happening, Clarke let the arrow go. It was a direct hit. "Wow…" She turned to face Lexa, without saying anything and kissed her. It didn't matter that she'd hit the dead center of the target, all that mattered was that her body was on fire.
The crowd cheered.
"Hmm… I see now why this is what you wanted," Anya recognized quite quickly what was happening. "Let us get back to the dance floor everyone, and leave these two."
"Lexa…" Clarke let go of the bow still in her hands, begging for Lexa to understand what she was trying to say.
"We should go back to the tower," Lexa agreed, as they beelined it directly to the tower.

After an agonizing long ride up the elevator, they arrived at their bedroom. They couldn't keep their hands off of each other as they wandered into the bedroom blindly. Lexa pushed Clarke's jacket off of her body as Clarke worked on undoing the buckles on Lexa's jacket.
"Why did you choose this jacket?" Clarke asked, annoyed that she wore this jacket for their wedding. This was the worst of the worst jackets to be wearing when trying to get naked.
"Ask Anya that, she is the one that chose this jacket. It is supposed to be multi-purpose," Lexa began to explain before Clarke kissed her again.
"For battle, I got it," Clarke realized the reasoning for the jacket. It took a couple minutes, but Clarke finally opened all of the buckles, and pushed the jacket off of Lexa. "I will have words with her later."
Lexa laughed pulling Clarke back in for another kiss. At which point she didn't realize they hand rounded her bed, and found herself toppling onto the bed. She pulled Clarke with her as she did.
They couldn't seem to keep their hands off of each other, pulling at the remainder of clothing. Clarke stood back and pulled Lexa's pants off of her, sliding a leg into the opening after she crawled back up her body.
Lexa hummed at the new pressure in the area she wanted Clarke most. She wrapped her hands around Clarke's neck pulling her back to her lips. They connected in a hunger, full of pure lust.
Clarke moved her leg briefly, only to be replaced by her hand, she made swift work moving her hand over Lexa's sensitive nub. She could feel Lexa writhing at the contact, from the way her body reacted, to how she kept trying to pull Clarke closer. It was as though she couldn't get enough of it. She wanted more, and Clarke was more than willing to give it to her.
"Clarke…" Lexa breathed out as Clarke had moved to kissing along her neck, suckling at her pulse point. The sensations were driving Lexa mad.
Clarke didn't waste time, she moved her finger, and rubbed in just enough of a way to push Lexa over the edge. She could sense it as Lexa's body tensed up, and then released moments later.
"Wow…" Lexa breathed out from such an intense orgasm. She kissed Clarke once more, pushing the other woman over onto her back so that she could pull off the rest of Clarke's clothes, and her own shirt.
Once Clarke's pants and underwear were off, she moved down Clarke's body, leaving kisses along the way, making Clarke's body feel like it was burning. Lexa was leaving a trail of fire along her entire body. She was so close, even now because of Lexa, and now what Lexa was doing to her.
Lexa reached her destination, she darted out her tongue, licking the area before connecting her lips to the mound. She let her tongue do all of the work. Moving along the slit, over the nub, feeling Clarke twitch at each movement.
"Oh my…" Clarke's head fell back on the bed, she kept trying to lift it up to watch but the sensation of Lexa's tongue moving along her was so exillierating. It made her feel things she'd honestly forgotten she could feel. So at peace. That's what it made her feel. She felt like nothing in the world could come between them in that moment.
Lexa took her time too, she could have rushed it but she wanted Clarke to feel what she had just felt. A slow build-up with an intense release. She was building Clarke up, bringing her to the point of release and cooling it, but keeping the motions going until she was sure Clarke was ready to hit that release.
Clarke reached for Lexa's hand just before she hit it, just before she was flooded with full ecstasy. She gripped Lexa's hand as her orgasm ripped through her body from head to toe. It held on for a couple minutes as Lexa kept moving her tongue and mouth, until her body relaxed, the sensation slowly leaving her body.
"Wow… Where did you.." Clarke couldn't get the question out.
Lexa crawled up Clarke's body, "Did you like that?"
Clarke nodded, without answering, she pulled Lexa in for a kiss, tasting herself on Lexa's lips. The taste aroused her even more. "Maybe, you could do that again."
"Yeah?" Lexa asked, knowing the answer before she even got it. Instead of going right back to it, she kissed her way down Clarke's neck creating a path to her destination.
With that they had the best night of their lives, relishing in each other.

The next morning, Clarke woke up to Lexa rummaging around in a nearby drawer, "What are you looking for?"
Lexa jumped slightly at being caught, "I am looking for something."
"Do you need help?" Clarke asked, looking for a nearby shirt she could put on.
"Ah, found them," Lexa picked up what she was looking for and got back under the covers on the bed. She brought them into view on her hand showing them to Clarke.
"Are those rings…?" Clarke asked, genuinely surprised to see rings in Lexa's hand as she had said previously that rings were generally a bad idea because of what could happen in battle.
"While you were gone, I was trying to figure out the best way to commemorate our unification in a way that worked for both of our cultures. You had said that rings were a big deal, but having a ring could cause problems in battle, so I found an alternative," Lexa explained picking up one of the rings to show Clarke. "I used some twine, and some red and blue string to create these. They look like rings, but are not as tough as a metal ring would be, plus it features elements from my culture. I felt this would be perfect for the both of us, a way of showing how our worlds combined," Lexa said showing the different aspects of the ring. "I might have to adjust yours because you were not here for me to get a proper size, but that will not be a problem for me… Are you crying?"
Clarke shook her head, "I love you so much. You did not have to do this but I love that you did."
Lexa blushed, "I love you too. Here, let me put this on you so I can see how it fits."
Clarke put out her left hand for Lexa to put the ring on, and surprisingly it fit pretty perfectly, "Wow, it fits good. Now your turn."
Lexa handed Clarke the ring she made for herself, and watched Clarke put it on her left hand's ring finger. She flexed her hand at the new material on her finger. It did feel a tad weird, but she was sure she would be used to it in no time.
"I guess that means we are official now," Clarke said, laying back onto the bed, sticking her left hand up to look at the ring.
"Yes, we are," Lexa agreed, laying back as well to do as Clarke was doing. "What do you think our future will hold?"
Clarke dropped her hand and rolled onto her left side to look at Lexa, "I don't know, but as long as I'm with you, I am not worried about what the future will bring us."
"Uhm, hey guys so I think you need to see-" Raven stopped in her tracks, eyes going wide as she quickly turned around. "Oh my god, not again. Why are you not dressed. It's almost Noon." With that she quickly walked back out the door.
Lexa looked towards the door, "I think I need to fix the lock on that door."
Clarke started laughing, "Just another day in the life of a commander, I guess."
