Disclaimer: I only own Kat and Ophelia.
For days Foxy and Mike worked together to attempt to catch up to Springtrap. Foxy would stay up late to read the map and instruct Mike on where to go in the morning.
Ophelia got more and more anxious as the time went on. She stopped cleaning completely in favor of staying in her cabin. It was starting to worry Foxy deeply, this was out of his expertise.
Foxy stood in the doorway with Freddy behind him. He watched Ophelia sit on the bed Kat and Chica would share. She traced a pattern on the blanket and stared at the floor.
"For the love of pirates, stop yer mourning," he exclaimed in an exasperated tone. "They've only been taken, they're not dead."
"They might as well be," Ophelia snapped spitefully. "He is not going to be kind."
"Ophelia, stop talking like that," Freddy scolded. He went over to the blonde. "I know you miss Kat and Chica, we all do, but staying holed up in here isn't going to fix anything."
The blonde snapped her head up and looked over at the brunet. "I know but I don't know what else to do." She admitted pitifully. "I wasn't always the best sister to Kat when we were younger, always leaving her alone to go flirt with boys. Guess this is my punishment." She chuckled bitterly as she looked to Foxy. "I want them back."
"I do too," Foxy told her. He sat down on the vacant bed. "I like working with Kat, she really knows what she's doing when it comes to reading and using the stars to guide us." He smiled. "And Chica, I like her a lot. She's really changed me for the good, something I never thought would happen."
"May I cut in?" Bonnie inquired, stepping into the room. He caught Ophelia's confused stare. "I said things I regret but I really like Kat." He lingered near the doorway. "She's smart, she's cute, I really do like her."
"Then why did you say what you did?" Ophelia asked waspishly.
A meek expression etched across the purple hair pirate's features. "I don't know," he confessed. "But I don't mean it, she's perfect."
Ophelia's brown eyes softened. "I always wished for them to be happy," she whispered. She stood up. "Okay boys, let's get the girls back."
FNAFFNAFFNAFFNAFFNAFFNAFFNAFFNAF
Kat rubbed her tired eyes, she loathed when Springtrap assigned her to nighttime steering especially if it was cloudy. Luckily for her, the sky was clear, and the stars were out. But sleep was fighting hard to win, even Balloon Boy was snoozing away by the mast.
She put her hand up in an L-shape and tilted it slightly. She turned the wheel a bit to the left and yawned.
"Must stay awake," she whispered. She shook her head. "So tired though." Her eyes started to shut. "No!"
Balloon Boy stirred but remained asleep to Kat's relief. While he wasn't as bad as Nedd, he could be pretty nasty.
One little nap won't hurt, would it? She asked herself. She paused for a second. Yes, it would.
She was determined to stay awake; she had to. But sleep was so tempting. She rested her head against the wheel.
The next thing she knew, she was asleep on the deck with Springtrap looming over her. The sun was just starting to peak over the horizon.
"You," Springtrap slurred, shoving her roughly. "You fell asleep."
"I-I'm sorry," Kat squeaked fearfully.
Springtrap seized her by the arm and dragged her up. He shook her as if she were a mere ragdoll.
"You fell asleep," he repeated. He pushed her to the deck.
Kat cried out as her shoulder collided with the wood, feeling as if something was stabbing her. She covered her face with her hands as Springtrap kicked at her.
To her surprise, the brutal captain stopped. Kat peeked through her fingers to see Springtrap attacking Balloon Boy instead.
"You were supposed to keep her awake!" Springtrap roared. "You land lubber!" He unsheathed his sword.
"Captain, please!" Balloon Boy pleaded; his hands clasped together.
Before the crew member could even blink, Springtrap shoved the sword through his throat. Balloon Boy's eyes widened as he started choking on blood. He slumped over as he feebly attempted to stop the blood.
Taking advantage of the distraction, Kat quietly slipped away back down to her and Chica's room. Opening the door quietly, she shuffled in and closed it behind her.
"Kat!" Chica gasped. "What happened?"
"My shoulder hurts," Kat responded. She crossed the room to her friend and lied down. "I fell asleep and Springtrap hurt me."
The blonde patted her on the shoulder, noting the wince she got. "Sorry," she said and switched shoulders. "Hopefully, we won't be here much longer."
"I hope," Kat agreed. She carefully situated the pillow so it was under her hurt shoulder too and drifted back to sleep.
Chica was too wound up to go back to sleep. She decided to stay up to make sure Springtrap didn't come for Kat.
As if he'll remember. Chica thought scornfully. I hope Foxy finds us soon.
A/N: Hope you enjoyed this rare Monday upload. The weather is absolutely terrible—gotta love the Midwest—so I'm camping out at my fiancés' house. It's so bad that I can't see the roads. Stay safe everyone.
