The entire WD was busy, Winn was trying to uncover the underworld's computer mysteries in hopes of uncovering information about Luthor, and Alex and Kara's parents were setting up a protocol to protect Lena. Police, including Alex's wife Maggie, were unofficially on the scene as well.

Everyone agreed that if something happened to Lena, the business world would be irreparably damaged, stock prices would plummet, thousands of people would lose their jobs as a result, but most importantly, no one knew how Kara would react. Would she go out in a destructive hatred that would destroy everyone who stood in her way or would she let herself suffer, letting her heart die slowly, only to end up one day not breathing.

But Kara's family vowed to do everything in their power to protect her. Not because she was a successful businesswoman, not because her death would cause an economic tsunami, but first and foremost because she was the woman their daughter and sister loved more than life itself.

No one wanted to imagine Kara's suffering if this were to happen, they all knew that Kara would most certainly die.

Lena was now forbidden to leave the WD for her own safety. There was no safer place on earth than right here. Yet, she never wanted to leave this place more than at that moment, wanting to find freedom there so she could enjoy her future wife. Her life was in danger, and yet the only thing that mattered to her was the look in her beloved's eyes, the softness of her lips, the warm breath on her neck. She wanted to be able to still enjoy the thrill of the relationship rather than having to hide as if she had done something wrong.

Alex prepared a play especially for Lena. In it was a bed, a desk, a chair, nothing extraordinary, but it was the best Alex could do under the circumstances. And she knew that she and her sister would need to be alone, as Kara certainly never wanted to leave Lena. No doubt she would follow her like a shadow to protect her.

While the WD was busy trying to find a solution as soon as possible to save Lena's life. She was with Kara in the room set up by Alex. They were in each other's arms, neither of them wanting to break contact with their loved one.

Kara was quickly thinking about what her life would be like without Lena. But unfortunately, she couldn't imagine it. For her, not having Lena would mean the end of her own life, but it didn't even matter to her that her life would be over as long as Lena was still alive.

Lena felt that the Kryptonian's body was trembling, her heart was pounding and her breathing was jerky and abnormally fast. Unfortunately she also knew that it was not because of the effect Lena was having on Kara, she was afraid, was afraid more than anything else of losing Lena and it was affecting the Kryptonian's body and she was no longer able to control herself.

The two women, lying on the bed, had their fingers intertwined and their gaze planted in each other, as if they were trying to see each other through each other's eyes.

They fell asleep in this way, almost peacefully. A few hours later, Kara woke up first, she opened her eyes with difficulty and suddenly got up again, noticing that Lena was no longer at her side. She went directly to Alex to ask him where Lena was, but he didn't know what to say, not knowing the answer.

The panic was starting to set in, for both Alex and Kara, but Kara took her phone to call Lena.

Lena answered after the third ring only which made the Kryptonian's heart pound, imagining the woman she loved in danger.

Don't worry, I needed to pick up something important from my apartment, I'm on my way to it I'll meet you there at... replied Lena.

But the conversation had suddenly cut off after Kara heard tires screeching and a loud boom being heard, causing Kara to panic and feel her heart breaking at the sight of Lena's obvious danger.

She went out in super speed under the amazed eyes of her sister who immediately understood that there was something wrong, praying with all her strength that Lena was okay.

Kara was now flying as fast as she could towards Lena's car, hoping in her heart not to arrive too late as she did for this elderly couple. She used her super hearing to locate Lena and flew at the speed of light towards Lena.

Lena had just been hit from the back of her car by a pick-up truck and armed men got out of the car, shooting at Lena's car, who had managed to escape the bullets by lying down on the seats of her car. In the distance, Kara heard the gunshots and his heart almost came out of his chest as he was panicking. She cursed Lena's father at that moment, swearing to herself that he wouldn't make it through the night if anything happened to Lena.

When she arrived a few seconds after the shots started, the four men had got out of the pickup and were walking resolutely towards Lena's car. But just as one of them was about to fire at Lena, he was thrown violently backwards by Supergirl who had just arrived. He landed twenty mothers away, completely unconscious.

The other three men then began to shoot Supergirl who took less than a second to disarm them all, sending them one by one into the scenery. Then she grabbed one of them by the throat, lifting him up with a firm hand so that he would tell her where Luthor was. But Luthor broke a vial of cyanide that was in his mouth and died almost instantly from the white slime coming out of his mouth. The other men also did the same thing, under the astonished gaze of Kara, who deep down inside said that at least in this way they would no longer hurt his future wife.

She then rushed towards Lena who had managed to get out of her car and joined Supergirl to give her a hug. Kara expressly asked her not to scare her like that anymore and not to leave like that without warning someone or without an escort to protect her.

I... I'm sorry Kara... I really wanted to get something back. Will you... will you come with me to my house and get it back? Asked in a breathless and pensive voice Lena, who, although she didn't say anything, had been very afraid for her life.

After having warned the WD to come and recover the bodies of Lionel's men, Kara and Lena flew to Lena's apartment.

Neither of the two women were talking, both of them still under the emotions of what had just happened. Kara had been so afraid of losing the woman she loved that she was now acting as if she was in automatic mode.

When they finally arrived at Lena's apartment, Kara first scanned it with x-rays to make sure it was safe. Then the businesswoman walked to a small box that was located under her bed and handed it to Kara.

I am so sorry Kara, I... well... before you proposed to me I also intended to make my... proposal and I wanted to give you this, but you beat me to it by proposing first Blowed Lena with her eyes down, feeling guilty for having put her life in danger and risking not seeing Kara again for this simple object, but how important it was to her.

Kara opened the small box, and discovered inside it a beautiful white gold ring surmounted by an emerald. She found the ring beautiful and could not hold back her tears. Lena had risked her life for a simple ring, she thought, but this ring symbolized Lena's love for her, and had never seen such a beautiful ring before. Inside was an inscription: I won't hide either. Lyrics that Kara always answered Lena when Lena sang the lyrics of their song to her whenever Kara was not well and that reassured her instantly.

The emotion was palpable between the two women now, neither of them daring to speak, you could see the Luthor's chest rising up as her breathing became so strong.

Lena asked Kara if everything was all right, and Kara had tears in her eyes at the beauty of the ring. She gently slipped it on her ring finger and found that it fit her perfectly.

Kara, are you...

She didn't have time to finish her sentence as Kara put her lips on Lena's for a wild, passionate and almost wild kiss, making them both fall on the bed. And it was in a passionate embrace that they made love like never before. Each of their gestures were carried out as if it was the last time they would see each other, as if death could strike them at any moment. Each one of the two of them was intent on remembering every detail, every gesture, every kiss in order to imprint it definitively in their memory. The fear of losing the other was so present that neither of them wanted to end their embrace in case it was their last time. And it was in a monumental cry of pleasure that the two women reached the climax of their carnal relationship, collapsing on the bed of exhaustion and completely out of breath.
