"I could think of many memories to share with you all about our Dill. She was a funny, caring, brave and often blunt individual, who came over to America with scars already from the war. Though Dill was an experienced soldier, to begin with, she was lost and frightened when she joined Easy. Dill would often tell me, it was because of us, she found her spirit and her will to keep fighting. Right now, she'd want me to thank each and every one of you, for supporting her and being her friend throughout her life. Dill wanted to go to the moon. That was her dream. Her older brother, Kacper, wanted to be the first Jew on the moon and Dallin decided to make that dream come true for him".

Rubbing his eyes behind his glasses, Winters continued softly;

"trooper, I'm sure wherever you are, you're a lot further than the moon. And I hope you're with your family now and our buddies who we've lost. I said this a lot to Dill because I truly meant what I said. I'm so proud of her. She was a fantastic soldier, leader, friend…and then a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. I feel privileged that I got to watch her grow up from that nineteen-year-old kid, who walked into Toccoa. Dill, we love you. And we know you loved us.

Until next time, friend. You're dismissed".
