I woke up to Calypso shaking me awake. "Hey, the Stoll's think they have a lead."
"H-how?" I asked rubbing my eyes.
"We found a brochure for a famous museum called National museum of Ethiopia. I mean it sound. pretty promising," Travis said.
"Mmm, sounds good," I said stretching and getting out of bed.
After everyone was ready and well fed, we set off for the National Museum of Ethiopia. We ended up taking the bus so we had a long ride ahead of us.
"So, what do you think Chiron's going to do when you guys get back?" I asked the Stoll's.
"He'll probably be mad, but we just couldn't stay knowing that you were in trouble," Connor said.
"Well thank you, you had come just in time."
"Yeah, but now Nemesis is even more determined to get us," Calypso stated.
"Technically she wants me," I said.
"Well, we won't let her take you," Jamie said putting his hand on my shoulder.
I looked down and frowned. "Hey, why do you seem upset?" Travis asked me.
"Because you guys are going to end up getting hurt just because I couldn't keep it to myself."
After that we all just sat in silence until we had arrived. "So, do you know what we're looking for?" Connor asked me.
"Uh, well if I remember correctly the prophecy said, 'Go to the land of mystery, to where you find the history', if I'm right we're just supposed to come here. But why?"
"Who knows why, it's a prophecy," Jamie said, "They aren't supposed to make sense."
"I know but there has got to be something else, it seems like there is a missing part," I explained.
"Well maybe we're just supposed to come here and its supposed to come to us," Connor said looking around.
I looked to where Connor was looking, "I don't know, but I don't think that's how prophecy's work."
"That's right, its usually not supposed to work like that," a new voice said. I turned around and gasped.
"A-Athena," I said.
"Hmm, hello cursed one. But I am the one who sent you on this quest. Unfortunately, I did not realize that you were so wanted for smacking my father. But I need to give you something."
Athena handed me a book. "W-what is this?" I asked her.
"It's going to tell you who you are. See some of us knew about you hundreds of years before you were born, but we all expected someone more⦠talented."
"Hey! Trish is plenty talented!" Jamie stated a little too loudly.
Athena then turned towards Jamie, "That is true, Trish has many talents. but she has no control over them."
"So this is it, you made us come all the way to Ethiopia to give me a book?" I questioned.
"Well no one is supposed to know that I gave this to you, not even you mother. So we had to travel far from Olympus so that my father won't find out. You are really powerful Trish, you should probably learn to use that power." And with that Athena disappeared in thin air.
"Well, um that was interesting," I said looking down at the book.
"Yeah, and a waste of time," Jamie said crossing his arms.
I stuffed the book in my cloak, "So, what now?"
"You could always come with me," some one snickered from above us. We look up and see Nemesis flying through the air on giant wings, her blade and scale in her hands.
I grabbed my sword just as Nemesis landed in front of us, "Everyone, stuff one of your hands in your pockets, that way she can't chain them."
"Huh, you're smart child, but unfortunately for you, you can't beat me," Nemesis snarled.
I growled at her. "Trust me, I know everything about you, mortal."
Nemesis charged at me, I lifted up my hand creating a wall of air in front of me. Nemesis slammed into the wall so hard, it pushed me back and Jamie had to catch me from falling. "Thanks," I whispered to him. I stood back up.
"Hey, I thought that gods aren't supposed to pick fights," Calypso yelled at Nemesis.
"I can do whatever I want to get justice, including pick fights."
Nemesis whipped around so fast that I didn't even see her go behind me, but all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain in my leg. I crumpled to the ground and I had to clench my teeth to keep from screaming. I then put up a full wall around me like I had done when Percy and I were sparring, except this time I strengthened it as much as I could.
"Trish!" I heard Jamie yelling from outside the wall but it was muffled. I grabbed where the wound was and began healing it, I knew it would take a lot out of me even to heal such a small gash but I couldn't stand.
"Trish put down the wall," I heard Nemesis say.
I just stared at her as I got back up, "No!"
"Oh, I think you'll want to put it down," she flicked her fingers and Coral appeared in front of me crying her eyes out.
"Trish help me!"
Thanks for reading! I hope you like this chapter. Also to answer your question Writer2006, to be honest I don't know why Hera is always showing up when something happens to Trish, I may be the writer but I have no plan for this fanfic I just write as it flows out of my mind. I mean in the beginning of the fanfic I had a plan but it was still drastically changed. I hope that somewhat answers your question. Stay safe and watch out for ducks! (Also does anyone like the little funnies I've started to put at the of the conclusion, put something in the reviews if you like them.)
