Chapter 67 – Let Me Fix You Up?

Ajay woke up the next morning but she didn't feel very rested. Worry set into her sore body when she reached for Octavio and he wasn't there. She sat up and collected herself. She felt sick to her stomach again. She always feared that he would leave her again but she thought that worry had left her when he came back and joined Apex. She got up out of bed and got dressed. She wore the essentials, black skinny jeans, a black tank top, a black hoodie, and her favorite black boots. She searched the apartment for Octavio but he was nowhere to be found, in fact it didn't even look like he had been home.

She sighed as she picked up her backpack and got out her phone before throwing her backpack over her shoulder. She checked her phone for missed calls and text messages from him but she had nothing from him. She found his number in her phone and clicked on it to call him. It rang a few times before it click on. She waited a moment from him to answer but there was nothing. "Silva?" She was very hesitate as she said his name.

"Hey Ajay." The voice on the other end was not Octavio's it was Elliot's voice.

"Elliot?" Ajay was a little confused. She looked at her phone to make sure she had dialed the right number, which she had. She shook her head and placed the phone back against her ear.

"Hey." He laughed through her silence, "What's up?"

"Where is Silva?" Frustration, exhaustion, and fear flooded her voice.

"Well…." Elliot paused for a moment, "He's here at my place."

"I'm on my way." The conversation was short and almost one sided as she hung up the phone. She wondered why Octavio was at Elliot's place. She left the apartment in a hurry. When she got outside she pulled the hood of her hoodie over her head. The cold water hit her body and gave her chills. She didn't usually mind the rain but today it was just an annoyance. The city was pretty much climate controlled. It never saw snow or drastic temperature changes but it was cold once in a while and it did rain. The city was a nice place to live but Ajay preferred living in their new home where there was no climate control and everything was natural. She tried to keep herself occupied as she finally made it Elliot's apartment building.

She left a line of water dripping behind her as she entered the building. It felt like it took forever for the elevator to take her to the eleventh floor. She made it to apartment 1111 and knocked on the door. Elliot answered the door with a smile on his face, "I knew you'd be back for more." Ajay rolled her eyes, "Where's Silva?" He pouted a bit as she tried to get passed him. After a moment of not being able to get around Elliot, Ajay became frustrated with his games, "What da fuck Elliot?" Elliot sighed, "Listen, I don't know if now is a good time." Ajay looked a little sad, "What was he trying to hide?" She placed a hand on his chest to push him out of the way, "I don really care." Elliot stood his ground and didn't let Ajay around him, though he did like the feeling of her touching him even it was in a hostile manner.

"Please Elliot." She looked down at the ground as she dropped her hand from his chest. She was almost in tears. "Ajay…" He leaned over to try and get a better look at her face but before he knew it her hands were on him and he was on ass on the floor and Ajay was walking past him. She didn't even know where to begin to look for Octavio so she started in Elliot's room. She found Octavio laying in Elliot's bed as she entered. Elliot grabbed Ajay's arm and pulled her out of the room. "What da…" He placed his other hand over her mouth and pinned her against the wall as he whispered. "Just let him sleep."

Ajay's body was tense against Elliot's body that was pressed firmly against hers. She slowly nodded and he removed his hand from her mouth, placing it next to her head on the wall behind her. He smiled at her, "Isn't this the predicament we're in?" She wasn't very amused by his games as she pressed her back into the wall. "Why does he need ta sleep?" She said softly. Elliot pressed his other hand onto the wall next to her right side, moving his face just inches from hers, "Well, it's an interesting story." She waited for a moment as he continued to get closer. Elliot's lips were almost against hers as he spoke, "What's da story?" Elliot smiled and leaned into her, whispering in her ear, "He'll have to tell you." Elliot's voice was soft.

Elliot's breath was heavy on her neck. She swallowed hard and placed her hands on his chest, pushing him gently away from her. Elliot smiled and gazed her hip with his hand as she pushed him away. "Come on. Let's get a drink." He motioned for her to follow him. She really didn't want to leave Octavio but she reluctantly followed Elliot to his bar. She set her backpack down on the bar top as Elliot made her a drink. He poured them both a glass of rum and a shot of vodka. She really didn't feel like drinking but her mind was off in so many directions maybe she needed the break. She downed the shot of vodka with Elliot and took a sip of rum.

Ajay felt a familiar hand on her shoulder as she sipped her rum. It was no surprise when she saw Renee at her side. She faked a smile as Renee sat down next to her. "Long time no see Ajay." Renee was wearing a pair of tight leggings, a plum colored halter top, and some ankle high black boots. She leaned over the bar and kissed Elliot.

Ajay didn't quite understand their relationship, other than it might just be an open relationship. Ajay felt obligated to talk when Renee returned her attention to her, "Yah, it's been awhile." Renee smiled as Elliot handed her a drink. "Would you like to go in the hot tub Ajay? We had a lot of fun last time."

Ajay was blushed, she knew Renee was right. "Nah, I am going to wait for Octavio to wake up." Ajay did not want to get into some three-way with Elliot and Renee. Even if the hot tub was an innocent ploy she didn't know what the fuck was going with her body around Renee and she didn't want to have to explain her actions to Octavio. Renee nodded, "Elliot?"

Renee peeled off her top, letting her breasts fall out. Elliot smiled and growled as he made his way out from behind the bar. Ajay watched as they both took off their clothes and Elliot picked up Renee and threw her over his shoulder. Renee smiled at Ajay as Elliot carried her to the hot tub.

Ajay stood up and threw her backpack on. She went around the bar and grabbed the bottle of rum that Elliot had opened for them. She quietly slipped off to Elliot's room to check on Octavio. She gently closed the door behind her after entering Elliot's room. She took a drink of rum before setting it on the table next to the bed closest to Octavio.

She set her bag down and kneeled on the floor for a moment and watched Octavio sleep. His breathing was bit shallow and labored as she watched him. Ajay didn't like what she saw. She pulled the covers back slowly. He was wearing a shirt and running shorts, like he usually did, but they were stained with dirt and blood. "What da fuck…" She whispered.

She lifted up his shirt from the waist and saw a few deep lacerations. She began to pull his shirt few up further and she froze in place as she felt his hand on hers, "Che." It was a whisper. She dropped his shirt so that she could see his face, "Silva. What happened?" He didn't have his eyes opened and she noticed that he looked a bit pale. Her heart began to race at all of the thoughts of what could have happened him. "I didn't want you to see me like this." He was still whispering to her.

She got up on the bed and laid down so that she was eye level with him. Her fingers found his hair and gently played with his strands, "Silva..?" She fought back tears. He smiled as he felt her fingers, "It's nothing." She held back the urge to slap the shit out of him. "It don look like nothing." She tried to speak in a calm voice, "What happened Silva?" She waited for him to explain himself or say anything at all because the silence was killing her.

Octavio didn't move because it hurt too much. "I was just trying to get some answers." Tears began to pour down Ajay's cheeks but she kept an even tone to her voice, "About what?" Octavio swallowed before speaking, "About why the fuck The Syndicate is after my wife." Her hand trembled in his hair, "It's not worth it Silva. It's not…" He cut her off, "It's my battle too Che. Remember, it's the Silva and Che show."

She smiled and pressed her lips to his forehead as gently as she could. She kissed his forehead for a long time as tears dripped down her cheeks and onto his face. "Why are you crying Che?" She pulled her lips away, "I was so worried about ya and now ya hurt." She paused because she felt like she was going to lose her shit if she didn't take a moment. "Please let me fix ya up." Octavio smiled, "Yeah Che. Fix me up. I didn't trust trickster to do it."

Ajay delicately kissed his forehead again before getting up off of the bed. She grabbed her backpack and pulled out two pills. "Open up Silva." Octavio opened his mouth and Ajay placed the pills in his mouth. She then helped him take a drink of the rum to wash them down. She removed her first aid kit and placed it on the bed before lifting up his shirt to inspect his lacerations again. She popped open the first aid kit and slowly got all of her supplies ready. She wanted to let the medication kick in before she started working on him but pills always took longer than injections. "Is dis the only place that ya hurt?" Octavio kept his eyes closed, "Yeah." She rolled his shirt up as best that she could without moving him too much.

She began cleansing his lacerations with saline, "I don know that Elliot can stitch but he can patch." She gently patted him dry with gauze. "Why did ya come here Silva?" Octavio really didn't care to talk about the whole situation but he did because he could hear the sadness in Ajay's voice, "I really didn't want to go home and have you see me like this. So I came here."

She sighed, "I really don understand why Elliot wouldn't let me see ya." She opened her crescent needle and medical thread. "Because I told him not to." Octavio knew that she wouldn't like that answer. Ajay began to thread the needle. "Oh…." She held back tears as she tried to concentrate on what she was doing.

After she got the thread through the needle and was ready to stitch she stopped to look at him. "Silva." Her voice was low and full of pain. "Ya can't do this to me. I thought ya left again." Octavio opened his eyes and looked at her. She was looking down at her hands and tears were falling from her face. Her clothing looked damp and her body was slumped over. He felt terrible, "I'm sorry Che. Never again." He closed his eyes as she nodded and began to work on is first laceration, stitching him up.
