An old friend.

Wolf was polishing 'Stalky Two', which she had aquired a few days after Scarlemagne was defeated, and Emelia turned the Clover Burrow over to her side.

Benson came in. "Wolf! We've got a new recruits for the Jaguar Gang!" He said.

"We AREN'T calling it that, Benson." Sighed Wolf, standing up from her chair.

"I am!" Argued her friend, making Wolf smile.

"So, Mute or Human?" She asked, as they walked on the bridges. They had all taken residence at the Timbercat's forest.

"Uuuuuhh... Mute..." Murmured Benson.

"Benson, I don't mind Mutes anymore."

"It's a Wolf Mute." Replied Benson.

"Oh." Wolf replied.

There was silence for a few seconds.

"You okay with that?" Asked Benson.

"Yeah, Yeah, I just... might have to get used to it."

Benson stopped. "Why do you have a problem with Wolf Mutes, anyway?"

Wolf growled. "Doesn't matter." She grumbled.

"Wolf-"

"I said, it doesn't matter!" Snapped Wolf.

"Okay..." Muttered Benson.

...

Kipo was chatting with the new recruit.

"So, what's your name?" She asked, enthusiastically.

"Margot." Replied the Wolf Mute, timidly.

"Margot? AWESOME Name!" Replied Kipo.

"A Wolf Mute'll be an AWESOME addition to the team." Said Dave.

Margot noticed a picture on the side, of Kipo, Benson, Dave, and another girl of her age who looked familiar.

""Who's that?" She asked.

"Oh!" Said Kipo happily. "That's Wolf! She has a bit of a problem with Wolf Mutes, but it'll be fine!"

Margot began to put two and two together. "Does she know how packs work?"

"Yeah. I don't know how, but-"

"Margot?"

Margot turned. There, in the Doorway, was Wolf.

The friend she had abandoned.

Wolf's shocked face transformed into one of Pure rage in less than an instant.

She let out an inhuman roar of fury, and charged at her former friend.

They rolled around, Wolf punching the other girl. Kipo pulled them off with her Jaguar arm.

"WOAH, WOAH, WOAH! What was that!?" She demanded, shocked at Wolf.

Wolf controlled herself. "I'll tell you! When I was a kid, I was raised by Wolves. And SHE was my Friend!" She snarled.

Margot flinched.

"What happened?" Asked Benson.

Wolf shook. "Turns out those Wolf Mutes were only raising me to be a 'prey with a strength'."

Kipo covered her mouth.

"And guess who's side SHE chose?"

Margot lowered her head in shame.

Kipo spoke. "Wolf. You both were five. She's clearly sorry. It's in the past, and-"

Wolf exploded with anger. "SHUT UP!" She yelled, running off.

Kipo was going to go after her, but Benson stopped her.

"Let her have some time alone."

Suddenly, Lio came up. "Guys. Mission."

...

"The Human resistance is kidnapping Mutes and experimenting on them."

That's awful!" Cried Kipo.

"A truck of Mutes is passing near the forest. You need to stop them, free the Mutes, and return here." Said Lio.

"Will do, Dad!" Grinned Kipo, giving a joking salute.

Wolf came up. "I'm coming too."

"And me." Said Margot, timidly.

Wolf glared an armada of daggers at her.

...

The lorry went under the bridge that had been made during the Human Age, and when it came out, five thuds came from the top of it.

The Human resistance guards stopped the truck, and clambered out. The four gasped as Kipo, Benson, Wolf, Dave, and Margot attacked them.

As the fight progressed, one fired his Tranquilliser Crossbow out, and fired at Wolf.

Wolf braced herself...

And Margot jumped in front of her.

Wolf caught Margot.

"Thanks." Muttered Wolf, shocked.

"It's only the first of Darts I'll take to make it up... to... you..." Whispered Margot, as she lost consciousness.

The goon re-loaded.

He quickly found himself punched by Kipo,

"Is Margot Okay?" She asked.

"Yeah. She's just sleeping." Replied Wolf, as Dave broke the lock keeping the Lorry doors closed.

Forty mutes stampeded out, and were in the distance in the blink of an eye.

...

Margot woke up. She looked to her right to see Wolf standing by her bedside.

"Wolf-" She was cut off by Wolf hugging her.

"I forgive you." She whispered.
