There is unrest in the Galactic Senate. Several thousand solar systems have declared their intentions to leave the Republic.

Near the planetary system of Coruscant, a J-type diplomatic barge flies on it's way toward the planet escorted by three N-1 Naboo Starfighters.
The J-type diplomatic barge was a large custom-built starship used by the Royal House of Naboo with improved engineering that exemplified its predecessor, the J-type 327 Nubian. The ship had shimmering chromium plating with two broad wings, each fitted with two sublight engines. Being a luxury vessel, it had many of the same amenities: spacious crew stations, four luxury chambers, and six cabins for the guards.
Inside the starship was Senator Amidala and her royal entourage. They were on their way to debate against the Military Creation Act, seeking to find a diplomatic solution rather than let the galaxy be thrown into violence. The senator waited patiently in the audience chamber with her loyal party as two guards entered the room. One of the guards named Theomat Danlé approached his mistress to inform her of their arrival to the planet.
"Senator, we're making our final approach to Coruscant." Danlé says
"Very good, Lieutenant." Senator Amidala says
The senator and her entourage leave the chamber and make preparations for the landing.
The starships fly down into Coruscant's atmosphere and descend through the clouds. Then, the ships touch down gently on a large hovering multi-lobed landing pad, deploying their landing gear. The pilots of the N1-starfighters climb out of their ships along with their astro droids, including R2-D2. One of the three pilots walks over to another pilot and removes his helmet, revealing his identity. This was Captain Gregar Typho.
Gregar Typho was a quiet, simple man who served as head of security for the Senator of Naboo. He was distinctly known by a patch on his left-eye.
"We made it." Typho says
The senator and her royal entourage began walking down the ramp of the silvery barge as they disembark.
"I guess I was wrong. There was no danger at all." Typho says
Suddenly, a massive explosion tears through the silver spacecraft. Typho and the pilot next to him were thrown back by the blast while the senator, a fellow handmaiden named Versé, Theomet Danlé, and four members of the Royal Naboo Security Forces were caught in the explosion. Hurling debris from the ship destroys one of the N1-starfighters as the right-wing falls apart. Alarms began blaring on the landing platform as it was now covered in debris and flames.
Typho, R2-D2 and the only surviving pilot rush over to senator. The pilot removes her helmet, revealing herself to be Padmé who was in disguise.
"Cordé." Padmé says
Cordé was a handmaiden, who had been disguised to protect the senator from situations like this. It was thanks to Typho's foresight that Padmé survived. Unfortunately, Cordé was mortally wounded by the explosion as Padmé turned her over.
"Milady, I'm so sorry. I failed you, Senator..." Cordé says weakly
Padmé held back her tears and shook her head.
"No!" Padmé says
Cordé draws her last breath and dies. Typho kneels down to Padmé.
"Milady, you're still in danger here." Typho says
The senator rises up as she kept her gaze on Cordé. Padmé was heartbroken by her friend's sacrifice.
"I shouldn't have come back." Padmé says
"This vote is very important. You did your duty. Cordé did hers. Now, come." Typho says
Typho began to walk off, but he turns back to Padmé, who just stood still and stared down at Cordé's body.
"Senator Amidala, please." Typho says
Heeding her captain's words, Padmé reluctantly leaves the bodies of her associates behind as she leaves the landing platform with Typho and R2-D2 while security and medical workers rush to the scene. She promised that Corde's sacrifice would not be in vain.
In the Senate District, within the senate building, the recently elected Supreme Chancellor Palpatine held a meeting with a few members of the Jedi Council in his office. Masters Yoda, Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Plo Koon and another Jedi Master Luminara Unduli, a female Mirialan were in attendance. With her was her young Padawan Bariss Offee, another female Mirialan.
As Mirialans, Luminara and Bariss appeared to be human, but they had dark yellow-green skin, black markings on their foreheads.
"I don't know how long I can hold off the vote, my friends. More and more star systems are joining the Separatists." Palpatine says
"If they do break away-" Windu says
"I will not let this Republic, which has stood for a thousand years be split in two. My negotiations will not fail." Palpatine says
"If they do, you must realize there aren't enough Jedi to protect the Republic. We're keepers of the peace, not soldiers." Windu says
The chancellor looks over to his left at Yoda, wanting to know of his insight on the matter.
"Master Yoda." Palpatine says
The green alien looks over at the Supreme Chancellor.
"Do you really think it will come to war?" Palpatine asks
"Hmm..." Yoda says
Yoda closes his eyes in thought, but soon gave his answer.
"The dark side clouds everything. Impossible to see the future is." Yoda says
The meeting was soon interrupted by a Rodian official, who appears on Palpatine's desk through a small holocom.
"Mahana jee ba ja huska ba kabu. (The Loyalist Committee has arrived, your Honor.)" The Rodian says in Huttese
"Good." Palpatine says
"Mo mahuta padon." The Rodian says in Huttese
"Send them in." Palpatine says
The doors to the office opens up and Mas Amadda walks in with Padmé, Jar Jar Binks, Typho, Senator Bail Organa, and a few other representatives in tow.
Bail Organa was a male human from the planetary system of Alderaan and a member of the Galactic Senate.
He wore a black robe and a light blue shirt underneath with a white cuff neck and similar cuffs on his sleeves.
Like Padmé, he, too, opposed the Military Creation Act and sought to find a diplomatic solution for the matter against the Separatists.
Padmé now wore a black dress with a sparkly blue top underneath. Her hair was now wrapped in gold filigree, tied in a long diagonally upward bun.
The Supreme Chancellor watches as the senators and their entourage enter the room, then looks at the Jedi Masters, dismissing their meeting.
"We will discuss this matter later." Palpatine says
Master Yoda and the other Jedi turn to Padmé and her group as they walk into the office.
"Senator Amidala, your tragedy on the landing platform, terrible. Seeing you alive brings warm feelings to my heart." Yoda says
"Do you have any idea who's behind this attack?" Padmé asks
"Our intelligence points to disgruntled spice miners from the moons of Naboo." Windu says
"I think that Count Dooku was behind it." Padmé says
"He's a political idealist, not a murderer." Ki-Adi-Mundi says
"You know, milady, Count Dooku was once a Jedi. He couldn't assassinate anyone. It's not in his character." Windu says
"But for certain, Senator, in grave danger you are." Yoda says
Palpatine, who stood over at the large, wide window of his office, overheard the conversation and offered a suggestion.
"Master Jedi, may I suggest the Senator be placed under the protection of your graces?" Palpatine asks
"You really think that's a wise decision under these stressful times?" Bail asks
"Chancellor, if I may comment, I do not believe-." Padmé says
"The situation is that serious? No, but I do, Senator. I realize all too well that additional security might be a bit disruptive for you, but perhaps someone you are familiar with. An old friend like Master Kenobi." Palpatine says
"That's possible. He's just returned from a border dispute on Ansion." Windu says
Yoda's eyes close again as he felt something in the Force, catching everyone's attention.
"Hmm... A familiar presence I sense in the Force. The Keyblade Wielder, Devon. Arrived he has. Hopeful news this is." Yoda says
Surprised expressions appeared on everyone's face in the room. Padmé herself was surprised by what she had heard from Master Yoda.
Bail Organa was just as astonished as Padmé was. He had heard many tales about the legendary Keyblade Wielders and their mystical powers and he praised them for their heroic deeds. He even heard of Devon's involvement in the Battle of Naboo. If he was here, then there was good chance he can help settle this dispute with the Separatists.
"Devon? He's here on Coruscant?" Padme asks
"I sense him too. He's at the Jedi Temple. Devon will most indefinitely be of great help in this matter." Windu says
Palpatine speaks again, drawing Padmé's attention.
"Do it for me, milady. The thought of losing you... is unbearable." Palpatine says
Padmé was a bit hesitant, but she knew there was no point in arguing with the Supreme Chancellor. And so, she nods her head in understanding.
"I will have Obi-Wan report to you immediately, milady." Windu says looking toward Padmé
"Thank you, Master Windu." Padmé says
"Go I will to the Jedi Temple and greet the Keyblade Wielder. Request for his aid, I will." Yoda says
Palpatine walks over to his seat and looks over at the group before gazing out at the city through the window behind him, hiding a suspicious expression.
Over at the Jedi Temple, Devon walks through the cavernous main hall of the ancient building, passing a few Jedi Knights, Consulars, and Padawans as they went to their daily duties, whether it was training, studying, meditation, or maintaining the architectural flair of the temple. The young teen gazes around at the tall pillars and soaring mezzanines that stretched around the base of the ziggurat.
"Looks like I'm back in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. I wonder how everyone's doing?" Devon says
As he continued walking, Devon passes one special padawan, who watches him with a curious expression. This was Ahsoka Tano.
Ahsoka Tano was a young female Togruta who had blue eyes, dark orange skin, brownish-grey lips, white facial markings, a slender build, and white lekku and montrals with blue stripes. Ahsoka appeared to be around the age of fourteen, a teenager like Devon, only one year below him.
The female Togruta wore somewhat revealing Jedi attire, consisting of a brown-red cloth, which covered her breasts while her stomach was exposed. On her hands, she wore leather vambraces. On her lower body, Ahsoka wore a brown-red skirt, white skin-tight pants, and brown leg-high boots. Around her waist was a Togruta sash, which was tradition for her species. She also wore her Padawan braid made out of silka beads and wore an akul-tooth headdress on her forehead.
Ahsoka stares at Devon with intrigue clear on her face. She was curious to know who he was and she goes to catch up with him.
"I wonder how Anakin's training is coming along. I'd really like to know how he and Obi-wan are doing." Devon says
"Excuse me." Ahsoka says
Devon stops walking and turns around to face Ahsoka as she approached him.
"Oh, hello." Devon greets
The young padawan looks Devon over and found his apparel to be strange. Obviously, he didn't appear to be a Jedi. But she did notice the Kingdom Hearts sigil that was on his chain necklace. Ahsoka had a suspicion, but she had to be sure. If Devon was who she thought he was...
"You don't look like a Jedi. Who are you?" Ahsoka asks
It was now Devon's turn to look over Ahsoka. He had to admit he was stunned by her revealing appearance. Seeing that she was a Jedi Padawan learner, he knew well enough that he could trust her. And so, he introduced himself to the female Togruta, giving her his name.
"I'm Devon."
As soon as she heard his name, Ahsoka's eyes widened with surprise and she lets out a gasp.
"Wait... You're Devon? As in the Keyblade Wielder that fought the Trade Federation in the Battle of Naboo?" Ahsoka asks
Devon spreads his arms out in a gesture.
"Yeah. That was me." Devon says with a smile
"No way! All the Jedi Knights, the Masters, and my fellow Padawans talk about you." Ahsoka says
"Wow. I guess I must've made a real impression." Devon says
"You sure did. They say your skills and powers with the Keyblade are incredible. You took on both a Sith Warrior and a Dark Keyblade Wielder and won!" Ahsoka says
Devon remembers back to his battle with Darth Maul and Lord Drazor back on Naboo as Ahsoka mentioned this. It was a very tough duel having to fight both of them, especially when Maul killed Qui-gon Jinn with his fatal blow. Darth Maul was exceptionally skilled with his double-bladed lightsaber, having to take on both Qui-gon and Obi-wan. And Lord Drazor was incredibly powerful in his own right, though he still had no idea who he was. His erratic breathing echoed in his head as he appeared in his mind.
"Yeah... They were pretty tough to beat. I'm actually amazed that I survived against both of them." Devon says
"And it's said you can wield the Force like the Jedi. Everyone felt it. Even my master and I felt it. You must've had an amazing connection to affect everyone like that." Ahsoka says
The Keyblade Wielder rubs the back of his head with his right-hand.
"Heh, I guess it's tough being a celebrity." Devon says with a sheepish smile
"You don't know how long I've wanted to meet you, Devon. It's such an honor!" Ahsoka says
The female Togruta places her right-hand over her chest and bows her head to the Keyblade Wielder, introducing herself.
"I'm Ahsoka Tano."
Devon gave her a kind smile and places his right-hand over his chest, returning the bow with one of his own.
"Pleased to meet you, Ahsoka." Devon says
"So, where did you come from?" Ahsoka asks
"A world called the Celestial Realm." Devon says
The female Togruta was confused by the name of Devon's homeworld.
"The Celestial Realm?" Ahsoka asks
"It was a peaceful world. Stars glittering like diamonds. Colorful auroras painting the night sky. Everyone working together to live in harmony. One might say it was paradise." Devon says
"Wait... You said 'was'. Did something happen to it?" Ahsoka says
A solemn expression fell on Devon's face as he told Ahsoka the terrible fate of his homeworld.
"It was destroyed long ago, back when I was very young." Devon says
Ahsoka gasps in shock.
"Oh, no... What happened?" Ahsoka asks
"The Celestial Realm was invaded by evil creatures of darkness called Heartless. Their only instinct is to feed on people's hearts and the hearts of worlds, spreading their numbers until nothing is left." Devon explains
"Yeah. That's right. I remember reading about them in the Jedi Archives. The Keyblade Wielders fought creatures like them a long time ago during the first Keyblade War." Ahsoka says
"It wasn't just Heartless. Entire army of monsters, evil creatures, and dark warriors also invaded my homeworld. And what's more, they had a leader. An evil entity called Lord Thanatos, who was also a Keyblade Wielder. He laid siege to my home and killed billions of people." Devon explains
Devon looks down and grips his right-hand into a fist, which Ahsoka notices. As he thought about the destruction of his home and the deaths caused by Lord Thanatos and his evil army, Devon's heart burned with anger.
"Many of them... including my mother and father. They both died protecting me while I alone survived." Devon explains
The young teen soon calmed down, letting out a sigh as he released the grip he had on his fist.
"After that, I was brought to another world called Destiny Islands, where I made new friends: Sora, Riku, and Kairi. They became my best friends after I had lost all my other ones to the darkness." Devon says
Ahsoka stares at Devon in shock and disbelief. He had lost his both parents and his entire home to the darkness and he alone was the only survivor. She understood well enough what it's like to lose a home and the people who cared about you. Although such terrible things had never happened to her, she felt sad for Devon and the horrible tragedy he suffered. Being the kind-hearted young Jedi she was, Ahsoka places her right-hand on Devon's left-shoulder, offering him comfort and causing him to look up.
"I'm so sorry." Ahsoka says
Devon looks over at Ahsoka's hand and places his right-hand over hers. He glances back at the female Togruta as she gives him a kind smile and he returns it with a smile of his own.
"You mind taking a walk with me?" Devon asks
Ahsoka nods her head.
"I'd be happy to." Ahsoka says
With Ahsoka joining his side, Devon continues walking through the halls of the Jedi Temple, telling her more of his story and life as a Keyblade Wielder. Thus began a special friendship between Devon and Ahsoka Tano.
After several minutes of walking through the Jedi Temple, Devon and Ahsoka came to the Jedi Training Grounds where a few young padawans and their masters trained to hone their skills with their lightsabers. The Keyblade Wielder and female Togruta sat down on a wooden bench as Devon told more of his adventures, the worlds he visited, the villains he faced like Lord Thanatos, the Dark Echo, and Organization XIII. Ahsoka had actually found Devon's stories to be very inspirational and she was amazed by everything he told her.
"Wow, Devon. You're life sounds pretty incredible. Being a Keyblade Wielder must be very tough for you." Ahsoka says
Devon shrugs his shoulders.
"Eh, not really. It helps when I have great friends to stand by my side." Devon says
"Devon, do you mind if I see your Keyblade? I've been wanting to see what it looks like." Ahsoka says
The young teen nods his head.
"Sure." Devon says
Devon stretches his right-hand out infront of him and he summons his trusted Keyblade: Soul Calibur in a flash of blue light. Ahsoka was astonished as the Keyblade appeared in Devon's hand and she was amazed by it's crystalline appearance.
"Wow. So, this is a Keyblade." Ahsoka gasps
The female Togruta runs her left-hand along Soul Calibur, feeling the smooth surface of the translucent crystal blade. But what really caught her attention was the blue glowing crystal orb as it floated disembodied within the base of the blade. As she stared at Soul Calibur, an idea popped into Ahsoka's head. She stood up from the bench and turned around to face Devon.
"Hey, why don't we both have a duel? You know? A sparring match. Keyblade Vs. Lightsaber." Ahsoka says
Devon thought about it for a moment and liked the sound of the idea, nodding his head in agreement. It would be a good learning experience for Ahsoka and some good training for him to test his abilities with his Keyblade and the Force. Devon rises up onto his feet and looks at Ahsoka with a battle-determined expression.
"Alright. Let's go, Ahsoka. I hope you're up for a challenge. Let's see if you can take me on." Devon says
Devon and Ahsoka took up positions on the training grounds, standing on opposite sides near the Great Tree. Ahsoka walks over to the left-side of the arena while Devon walks backwards to the right-side with Soul Calibur still in his right-hand. The Jedi in the courtyard stopped their training as their attention was now drawn to the Keyblade Wielder and female Togruta. The young padawans and their masters gathered around as Devon and Ahsoka readied themselves.
Ahsoka reaches for her lightsaber with her right-hand and unclips it from the left-side of her belt. With a push of the switch, she ignites the weapon with a green plasma blade emitting from the metal hilt. The power setting was set to low so that she wouldn't seriously injure her new friend with any lethal hits. Ahsoka flips her lightsaber around in her hand and holds it in a reverse grip as she got into battle stance with her legs evenly spread out and her lightsaber held horizontally infront of her.
Devon spun his crystal Keyblade around in his right-hand and soon held it infront of him with both hands. He then brought Soul Calibur up over his right-shoulder with the Keyblade flipped downwards.
"Don't think I'll go easy on you just because you're a girl." Devon says
"Heh. I wouldn't dream of it." Ahsoka says
Both the Keyblade Wielder and young Jedi stared each other down with determined smiles on their faces. The training grounds fell silent as no one uttered a sound. Within moments, Devon and Ahsoka run at full speed toward each other and both Keyblade and lightsaber clash, thus beginning the duel.
Ahsoka went first as she attacks with three horizontal sideswipes, swinging her green lightsaber left and right at Devon, who parries the blows with Soul Calibur, holding his crystal Keyblade vertically. Next, the young Jedi follows up with a right diagonal slash, which Devon dodges by leaning to right, a reverse roundhouse slash aimed at Devon's stomach, which he also evades with a small jump back as it misses him by inches, and a downward slash, which was blocked by Soul Calibur as Devon held his crystal Keyblade up infront of his face horizontally to right. The Keyblade Wielder swings the lightsaber away to the left and thrusts his left-hand forward at Ahsoka, sending her back a good feet away with a telekinetic blast through the Force. The female Togruta shields herself with her arms as she was pushed back and she slides across the training grounds until she skids to a stop.
Devon holds up his left-hand and a small blue light appears floating in his palm in the form of a glowing star. He grips it in his hand with a flash of light and brings his hand back to his side, summoning three crystals of light, which revolve around his body. Jumping up into the air, Devon thrusts his Keyblade forward, sending the light crystals down at Ahsoka. The young padawan jumps over the first crystal with a somersault, stops the second with the Force through her left-hand and sends it away to the left, and slices the third vertically in half with a quick chop of her lightsaber.
Landing back on the ground, Devon dashes forward and leaps into the air, coming at the female Togruta with right spinning slash. Ahsoka quickly ducks down and leans to her right, dodges the attack. Jumping to her feet, she goes to counter with a left uppercut slash. Devon quickly leans his body to the left, dodges the lightsaber, and spins around with a countering roundhouse slash. Ahsoka gasps as she barely had time to parry. She was able to block the attack, but the surprise caught her off guard, and she spins around, stumbling backwards. Devon follows up with a high double kick, performing a small jump and spinning around to the right, kicking both feet at Ahsoka, who immediately ducks down. Then, he swings Soul Calibur with a low left sweeping slash at the young padawan's feet. Ahsoka jumps up as the crystal Keyblade sweeps beneath her feet and swings her lightsaber with a left diagonal slash at Devon. The young teen switches his grip on Soul Calibur and blocks the attack, holding his weapon opposite in reverse like Ahsoka. He pushes the lightsaber away and jumps back a good feet away as she takes another swing at him.
Ahsoka dashes forward at Devon and swings her lightsaber with a left slash. Devon jumps up with a somersault and flips over the young padawan as she swings at him. Landing behind her, Devon turns around to the right and swings Soul Calibur at Ahsoka while she turns to her left and swings her lightsaber. Both weapons clash with a shower of sparks. The two soon broke away and jump back as they stood on opposite sides of the training arena.
The young padawan was amazed by Devon's fighting skills. He fought with strong blows and moved with very fast speed. Devon was definitely strong with the Force, but Ahsoka was determined to win. She knew that a Jedi must always be ready to fight any kind of adversary, no matter how strong they are.
Devon aims Soul Calibur at Ahsoka and shoots a single fireball at her. The female Togruta performs a cartwheel flip to the left, dodging the fiery projectile as it shoots past her. Ahsoka pulls her right-arm back and throws her lightsaber at Devon with a left toss. The Keyblade Wielder jumps and rolls over the lightsaber as it passes underneath him while aiming Soul Calibur at the female Togruta, launching a blast of ice at her. Ahsoka leaps over the ice blast with a somersault and lands crouched down on her right-knee, catching her lightsaber as it flies back into her hand. As she rises up, a ring of blue light surrounds her and blue lightning bolts strike the ground around Ahsoka. She then looked ahead at Devon to see him with Soul Calibur raised above his head with both hands holding the crystal Keyblade. Glancing up, she saw a huge, powerful lightning bolt coming down towards her. Gasping in surprise, Ahsoka quickly jumps back just as the lightning strikes the ground where she once stood.
Ahsoka sprints toward Devon and attacks with a leaping strike, raising her lightsaber over her head. Devon held Soul Calibur up infront of his face and blocks against Ahsoka's lightsaber. He swings the plasma blade away to the right and swings his crystal Keyblade left, right, upward, and downward. Ahsoka parries the first two strikes with her lightsaber, leans over to the right to dodge the third, and blocks the fourth blow with the Force as she held up her left-hand to catch Soul Calibur. She comes at Devon with a left spinning slash, swinging her green lightsaber at him while he jumps back.
Immediately after landing, Devon jets forward at Ahsoka, propelled by the wind, and swings his crystal Keyblade with two upward slashes and a downward slash. The young padawan leans her body to left as she dodges the first strike, then holds her lightsaber up as she blocks the second. Next, Devon swings Soul Calibur with six left and right diagonal spinning slashes. Ahsoka leans her body away and jumps back as Devon attacks her. Then, Devon follows up with two left and right spinning slashes, three somersault slashes, three backflip slashes. Ahsoka continues to dodge his strikes, jumping back as he swings Soul Calibur around. Finally, Devon delivers a quick left spinning slash, swinging his crystal Keyblade six times before finishing with a downward slash. Ahsoka defended herself as best as she could against his quick blows before she blocks his final strike with her lightsaber, holding it horizontally infront of her.
Devon and Ahsoka were now caught in a blade lock as both Keyblade and lightsaber clashed with each other. Eventually, Devon broke the clash by knocking Ahsoka's weapon out of her hands with a backflip kick, sending it up into the air. Catching her off guard, Devon knocks the female Togruta off her feet with a low sweeping kick with his right-leg stretched out, causing her to fall backwards. Before she could get back up, Devon stands over Ahsoka and holds Soul Calibur down across her neck. Without even looking, he catches her lightsaber in his left-hand in a reverse grip behind his back.
The duel between Devon and Ahsoka was now over. Devon had emerged victorious. All the padawans and their masters were amazed by the duel. Ahsoka lets out frustrated grunt, but she soon takes a deep breath and lets out a sigh, calming herself down. Devon de-summons his Keyblade, shuts off the green lightsaber, and takes a step back as Ahsoka sits up. She looks up at Devon as he stands before her with a smile on his face. The young padawan was very impressed by his skills. Devon extends his right-hand down to Ahsoka, who gladly accepts, and pulls her up to her feet. The Jedi around them all give them a round of applause for their spectacular show.
"Huh. Man, you are good, Devon." Ahsoka says impressed
"You're not bad yourself, Ahsoka. You seemed to handle yourself pretty well with your lightsaber. And I can feel you're quite strong in the Force." Devon says
"Maybe, though I don't think I'll ever become as strong as you." Ahsoka says
"Probably with enough training and practice, you just might. You know, I'm still in training myself, to become a Keyblade Master. I feel like I've come a long way already, but I'm sure there's still more for me to learn. Maybe while I'm here, I can pick up on some more skills in using the Force." Devon says
"Well, I'm sure you'll be a great Keyblade Master, Devon." Ahsoka says
"And I'm sure you'll turn out to be a great Jedi." Devon says
The young padawan looks down with uncertainty.
"Do you really think I have what it takes to be a Jedi?" Ahsoka asks
Devon places his right-hand on Ahsoka's left-shoulder, causing her to look up at him.
"I don't think, I know you will." Devon says
The Keyblade Wielder flips Ahsoka's lightsaber around in his hand and holds it out to her.
"Just follow your heart. Trust in the Force. And believe in yourself." Devon says
Ahsoka takes her lightsaber back and she looks up at the Keyblade Wielder with a smile. Devon extends his right-hand out to Ahsoka, who happily accepts and the two friends shake hands.
Devon and Ahsoka soon felt a presence nearby. Devon turned around and he saw Master Yoda standing behind him with his wooden cane. Also with him was Jedi Master Plo Koon, who stood next to Yoda on his left. Devon bows his head to the two Jedi Masters in respect as he said their names.
"Master Yoda. Master Plo Koon." Devon greets
"Master!" Ahsoka exclaims happily
"Koh-to-ya, little 'soka." Plo Koon greets with a nod of his head
"Plo Koon is your Jedi Master?" Devon asks looking at Ahsoka on his left
"Yep. He found me on my homeworld of Shili back when I was a small youngling and brought me here to the Jedi Temple where I belonged." Ahsoka says
Devon looks back at the male Kel Dor Jedi Master as he approaches him.
"Koh-to-ya, Devon. I see you've met my young Padawan." Plo Koon says
Devon nods his head.
"Yeah. Ahsoka's very skilled with her lightsaber. She's been trained very well." Devon says
"I'm sure that you gave her quite a challenge with your Keyblade." Plo Koon says
"He sure did, Master. The Force is very strong with him. And his magic was incredible. I could barely keep up with his attacks. I'd say the Jedi couldn't find a more better ally than Devon." Ahsoka says
Devon looks over at Ahsoka with a fond smile and places his right-hand on her right-shoulder across her back.
"Thanks, Ahsoka. I couldn't have asked for a better friend." Devon says
The young teen looks over at Master Yoda and he could tell from the expression on his face as he looked down that there was trouble. He could feel it too in the Force.
"Master Yoda? I can sense you're troubled. Is there something wrong?" Devon asks
"Hmm... Much unrest there is in the galaxy. Many systems drift away from the Republic, joining the Separatists. Lost faith they have. In grave danger the Republic is. Require your aid it does, young Keyblade Wielder." Yoda says
A concerned expression formed on Devon's face as he stares at the Jedi Master. He glances over at Ahsoka, who also had a concerned look on her face. The Republic was in danger? But by whom? Was it the Sith? Or was there some other sinister force at play? Gripping his right-hand into a fist, Devon puts on a determined expression and he turns to Master Yoda, willing to lend a helping hand.
"What can I do to help?" Devon asks
A short ways off from the senate building, Obi-Wan and Anakin were inside a turbolift elevator going up to Padmé's penthouse suite at the Senate Apartment Complex on a high skyscraper several feet up.
Obi-Wan now had a small beard and long hair while Anakin had now grown into a young man. He had short brown hair with a Padawan braid on the right-side of his head and he wore a brown robe.
The Jedi Master looked to his left and noticed that Anakin was adjusting his robe.
"You seem a little on edge." Obi-Wan says
"Not at all." Anakin says
"I haven't felt you this tense since we fell into that nest of Gundarks." Obi-Wan says
Anakin scoffs and turns to his master on his right.
"You fell into that nightmare, Master, and I rescued you remember?" Anakin says
"Oh... yes." Obi-Wan says
Obi-Wan and Anakin chuckle.
"You're sweating. Relax. Take a deep breath." Obi-Wan says
"I haven't seen her in ten years, master." Anakin says
On the upper floor, Jar Jar, now a junior representative of the Senate, was strolling near the elevator.
He wore a red senator's robe and many beaded jewelry over his shoulders.
The Gungan soon notices the elevator opening and sees Obi-Wan and Anakin walk out.
"Obi? Obi!" Jar Jar says
Jar Jar grabs Obi-Wan's right-hand and shakes it.
"Mesa so smilen to seein yousa!" Jar Jar says happily
"Good to see you again, Jar Jar." Obi-Wan says
In the sitting room next door, Padmé, Typho and a handmaiden named Dormé were standing at a small open-air balcony.
The sitting room was a small lobby that had a low, wide ceiling with a series of yellow-cream sofas and chairs. The ceiling and walls were of a ribbed design, arching over the room, allowing natural light to flow in through ceiling clari-crystalline windows and the expansive skylights. Small tables were dotted with carefully placed art brought in from around the galaxy, as well as Padmé's homeworld of Naboo. Two small tables were placed in-between the two sofas in the center of the room.
Padmé was gazing out at the Senate District when she heard Jar Jar call her.
"Senator Padmé." Jar Jar calls
Padmé, Typho, and Dormé walk over as the Gungan leads the two Jedi into the room.
"Mesa palos here! Lookie, lookie, Senator. Desa Jedi arriven." Jar Jar says gesturing to Obi-Wan and Anakin on his left
The Jedi Master bows his head as he greets the senator and her entourage.
"It's a great pleasure to see you again, milady." Obi-Wan says
Obi-Wan and Padmé shake hands.
"It has been far too long, Master Kenobi." Padmé says
Padmé turns to Anakin on her left and was surprised by how he looked now.
"Ani? My goodness, you've grown." Padmé says
"So have you. Grown more beautiful, I mean. Well, f-for a senator, I mean." Anakin says
Padmé smiles and shakes her head, flattered by Anakin's comment.
"Ani, you'll always be that little boy I knew on Tatooine." Padmé says
"Hey, did I miss something?" A voice says
Everyone turns to the elevator and saw Devon walking into the room.
"Devon! It's a surprise to see you here." Padmé says
Devon walks over and shakes Padmé's hand.
"It most certaintly is, Padmé. It's good to see you again." Devon says
Devon turns toward Jar Jar.
"How've you been, Jar Jar? You staying out of trouble?" Devon asks
"Mesa so happy to seein yousa, Devon!" Jar Jar says grabbing Devon's hand and shakes it as he was before
Devon then turns his attention toward Obi-Wan and Anakin.
"Obi-Wan, how have you and Anakin been?" Devon asks
"Oh, just fine. Jedi business as usual." Obi-Wan says
"Which is never done." Anakin says
Devon does a double take on Anakin, and like Padmé, he was surprised to see that he was now a young man.
"Wow, Anakin, look at you. I'm surprised to see you're a Jedi Padawan now." Devon says
"Look at me? What about you? You haven't aged a day." Anakin says
Obi-Wan nods his head in agreement.
"I agree. Ten years have passed and you haven't aged one bit." Obi-Wan says
"Wait... Did you say it's been ten years since we last met?" Devon asks
"Well, yes." Obi-Wan says
Devon places his hands on his waist and began thinking to himself.
"Wasn't there something the Inheritor said about some worlds with different time frames?" Devon asks in his thoughts
As he pondered to himself, Devon did recall something that The Inheritor said at the start of his exam.
(Flashback)
In the Celestial Archive, The Inheritor spoke to Devon, Sora and Riku about the function of time in some worlds while Luna, Spyro, Cynder, Hiccup, Toothless, Astrid, Stormfly, Fishlegs, Meatlug, Snotlout, Hookfang, Tuffnut, Ruffnut, Barf and Belch stood behind them with Mickey, Donald, and Goofy.
"Some worlds have their own unique timeline and history. But in sleeping worlds, time does not flow normally. Unless the world is awakened, it will stay locked in a dream for all eternity. As thus, you may encounter some familiar faces, but they are only figments of the dream. In reality, they are in a state of deep slumber, trapped within a world that is also in a state of deep slumber. What's more, while one being may no longer dwell in the real version of the world, dreams may paint a fuller picture, restore that which was lost and will also reveal events that has shaped that world. Perhaps reveal hidden truths." The Inheritor says
(Present time)
Devon returned from his flashback and soon realized what The Inheritor meant.
"I see now. Time in the sleeping worlds does not flow normal like it does in reality. So the events that have transpired so far and what is to transpire in the near future is what shapes the real version of this world." Devon says in his thoughts
Devon looks toward Obi-Wan, Anakin, Padmé and the others.
"Devon, how come you still look so young?" Padmé asks
Devon shrugs his shoulders.
"I guess you could say it has something to do with travel to other worlds. It's a bit difficult to explain." Devon says
"Still, it is curious." Obi-Wan says
"Well, why don't we get to the task back at hand? Master Yoda already informed me of the situation." Devon says
"And we'll gladly accept your help, Devon." Obi-Wan says
Obi-Wan looks toward Padmé.
"Our presence here will be invisible, milady, I can assure you." Obi-Wan says
"I'm Captain Typho of Her Majesty's security service. Queen Jamilia has been informed of your assignment. I am grateful that you are here, Master Kenobi. And I am grateful that you are here as well, Devon. I've heard much of your feats. The situation is more dangerous than the senator will admit."
"I don't need more security. I need answers. I want to know who's trying to kill me." Padmé says
"We are here to protect you, Senator, not to start an investigation." Obi-Wan says
"We will find out who's trying to kill you, Padmé. I promise you." Anakin says
"We will not exceed our mandate, my young Padawan learner." Obi-Wan says
"I meant that in the interest of protecting her, Master, of course." Anakin says
"We will not go through this exercise again, Anakin, and you will pay attention to my lead." Obi-Wan says
"Why?" Anakin asks
"What?" Obi-Wan says looking left at Anakin with a surprised expression
"Why else do you think we were assigned to her not to find the killer? Protection is a job for local security, not Jedi. And I'm sure it's no job for a Keyblade Wielder either. It's overkill, Master. Investigation is implied in our mandate." Anakin says
"We will do exactly as the council has instructed. And you will learn your place, young one." Obi-Wan says
Devon holds up his hands in a surrender gesture.
"Hey, I've got no complaints. Protection or investigation, I'm okay with whatever the council requests us to do." Devon says
"Perhaps with merely your presence, the mystery surrounding this threat will be revealed." Padmé says
"Right. I'm sure we'll uncover the truth while we protect Padmé." Devon says
The senators, Jedi, and Keyblade Wielder rise from their seats.
"Now, if you'll excuse me, I will retire." Padmé says
Padmé walks out of the room with her handmaiden, Dormé, heading for the hallway on the left, which led to her private chambers.
"I know I'll feel better having you and Devon here. I'll have security officers on every floor, and I'll be in the control room downstairs." Typho says walking alongside Obi-Wan
"Mesa bustin' with happiness seein yousa again, Ani." Jar Jar says
"She hardly recognized me, Jar Jar. I've thought about her everyday since we parted, and... she's forgotten me completely." Anakin says
"Shesa happy. Happy den mesa seein her in a longo time." Jar Jar says
"Jar Jar's right, Anakin. As long as Padmé's happy and safe, that's all that matters." Devon says
Obi-Wan walks up to Devon and Anakin.
"You're focusing on the negative, Anakin. Be mindful of your thoughts. She was rather pleased to see us. Now, let's go check the security." Obi-Wan says
"Right." Devon says
Devon, Obi-Wan and Anakin began their checks on the security in the building, preparing for any type of assassination attempt.
That night, on one of the Trade Federation's office towers, a bounty hunter named Zam Wesell met with a mysterious man, who stood hidden in the shadows. This was another bounty hunter named Jango Fett, who was her partner.
Jango Fett was a renowned Mandalorian male bounty hunter known for being one of the fiercest and best assassin and mercenary in the galaxy. He was thorough, instinctive, and ruthless when it came to collecting bounties, but he was known to have a soft side for the few people he cared about in life. He was often motivated by money, and as such his loyalty was to the highest bidder.
Jango wore a suit of Mandalorian armor and had a variety of weapons and gadgets, like his dual WESTAR-34 blaster pistols, BlasTech Dur-24 wrist laser, Czerka ZX miniature flame projector on his left gauntlet, and an integrated Velocity-7 dart shooter with Kyber darts on his right gauntlet. He was also equipped with a Merr-Sonn JT-12 jetpack featuring a warhead missile launcher.
Zam Wesell was a female human bounty hunter, who worked alongside Jango Fett. She was skilled, dedicated, and callous and she enjoyed the life of an outlaw.
Zam wore a purple armored bodysuit consisting of a helmet, gloves, and boots. She also wore Mabari armorweave blast-sink skirt and shin guards on her boots.
"I hit the ship, but they used a decoy." Zam says
"We'll have to try something more subtle this time, Zam. My client is getting impatient. Take these." Jango says
Jango hands Zam a glass tube canister, which had two white Kouhuns encased inside.
Kouhuns were small, venomous, vermiform arthropods that hailed from the jungle planet of Indoumodo, though they could adapt to any other world. Their segmented bodies were roughly 30 centimeters in length and had multiple pairs of legs along each segment. Kouhun venom was highly potent and fast-acting. A single bite from their mouth pincers was enough to kill any mammalian species within minutes.
"Be careful. They're very poisonous." Jango warns
The female bounty hunter takes the glass tube and starts to walk away, but not before her partner gives her one final warning.
"Zam, there can be no mistakes this time." Jango says
Zam nods and walks away, putting on her veil as she went to work.
Over at Padmé's penthouse suite, the senator was resting in her bedroom with R2-D2 inside in, who kept watch but was currently shut off in standby mode. The room also had blue laser tripwires, which swept across the floor for added security.
Padmé's bedroom had a broad window on the left-side when facing it and a simple mattress sat in the center of the room with a low table situated just infront of it.
Devon, Obi-Wan and Anakin were outside in the sitting room, keeping watch as Padmé slept in her private chambers. Devon sat down on one of the sofas with his right-arm resting ontop and his legs crossed while Anakin stood around. Obi-Wan walks in from the elevator after checking with Captain Typho, taking off his brown robe and tossing it to the sofa on his right close to where Devon sat.
"Captain Typho has more than enough men downstairs. No assassin will try that way. Any activity up here?" Obi-Wan says
"Quiet as a tomb." Anakin says
"Yep. So far up here, it's been pretty silent. Nothing suspicious so far." Devon says
"I don't like just sitting around here waiting for something to happen to her." Anakin says
Obi-wan tries to look into Padmé's bedroom through one of the security cameras on a PDA device, but he was unable to do so.
"What's going on?" Obi-Wan asks
"She covered the cameras." Anakin says
"Perhaps she doesn't like being watched." Devon says
Obi-Wan walks over to the hallway that led to Padmé's chambers and looks into it.
"What is she thinking?" Obi-Wan asks
"Padmé programmed R2 to warn us if there is an intruder, and the security laser tripwires are set to detect any motion inside." Devon says
"There are many other ways to kill a senator." Obi-Wan says
"I know, but we also want to catch this assassin, don't we, Master?" Anakin says
Obi-Wan turns to his Padawan with a slightly surprised expression, feeling that he must've planned this.
"You're using her as bait." Obi-Wan says crossing his arms
"It was her idea. Don't worry. No harm will come to her. I can sense everything going on in that room." Anakin says
"So can I. Now that my skills with my Keyblade and the Force are improving, I can be able to detect any sign of impending danger." Devon says
"Trust us, Master." Anakin says
"It's too risky. Besides your senses aren't that attuned, my young apprentice." Obi-Wan says glancing back at the hallway to Padmé's chambers
"And yours are?" Anakin says
Obi-Wan looking back at Anakin.
"Possibly." Obi-Wan says
Back at the Trade Federation Tower, Zam inserts the Kouhun arthropods into the delivery apparatus of her ASN-121 courier assassin droid and it flies off immediately into the city to complete it's task, heading for straight it's destination: the Senate Apartment Complex.
Back at Padmé's penthouse suite, Obi-Wan looked and saw that Anakin was slightly tired as he leaned against the open-air balcony.
"You look tired." Obi-Wan says
"I don't sleep well anymore." Anakin says
"Because of your mother?" Obi-Wan asks
Anakin nods yes.
"I don't know why I keep dreaming about her." Anakin says
"Dreams pass in time." Obi-Wan says
"I'd much rather dream about Padmé. Just being around her is... intoxicating." Anakin says
"Be mindful of your thoughts, Anakin. They betray you. You've made a commitment to the Jedi order, a commitment not easily broken. And don't forget, she's a politician and they're not to be trusted." Obi-Wan says
"She's not like the others in the senate, Master." Anakin says
"It is my experience that senators focus only on pleasing those who fund their campaigns, and they're in no means scared of forgetting the niceties of democracy in order to get those funds." Obi-Wan says
"Not another lecture. At least not on the economics of politics." Anakin says
While Anakin and Obi-Wan talked amongst themselves, the assassin droid arrives at the window outside of Padmé's bedroom. The droid bypasses the security at the window by emitting disruptive energy beams from the tips of its wings, burns a small hole in the window, emitting lasers through it's cutter mandrel, and dispenses the tube through the glass, releasing the Kouhuns as they crawl out and fall out onto the floor.
Working together as pack hunters, the two arthropods crawl silently across the floor just below the security lasers toward Padmé's bed, sensing her warm body heat. Kouhuns were attracted to warmth and they used this sense to track their victims, which in this instance, was the Padmé.
R2-D2 switches on and turns on his flashlight as he detects movement. The Kouhuns froze as they notice R2 was on and they both hide from the astromech droid. One crawls up along the wooden bed frame and hides along the side of the mattress while the other hides underneath bed. R2 slowly turns his head left and right, scanning around with his flashlight as the beam of light sweeps the room. Finding nothing out of the ordinary, R2 switches back off into standby mode.
Once the droid went dark, the Kouhuns climb up the bed and crawl over to Padmé as she slept.
"And besides, you're generalizing. The chancellor doesn't appear to seem corrupt." Anakin says
"Palpatine is a politician. I have observed that he is very clever in following the passions and prejudices of the senators." Obi-Wan says
"Well, I think he's a great man. My-" Anakin says
Suddenly, Anakin looks over his left-shoulder to Padmé's room behind him and senses something is wrong. Obi-Wan also senses the danger. Even Devon felt it as he quickly got up from his seat walked over to the two Jedi.
"I sense it too." Obi-Wan says
"So do I." Devon says
The trio began rushing toward Padmé's room.
Inside the bedroom, the Kouhuns were dangerously close to Padmé as they were only inches away from biting her.
Just as the two arthropods were about to deliver their toxic venom, Devon, Anakin, and Obi-Wan burst into the room and rush to Padmé's rescue. R2-D2 switches on as the heroes come running inside. Anakin jumps onto the bed and ignites his blue lightsaber, deftly slicing the Kouhuns in half with two swings, sending them flying into the wall on the right. Padmé immediately woke up and gasps as she sat upright.
Devon glances over at the chopped up insects and rushes over to them. He kneels down and holds his right-hand over them while keeping a safe distance away. Reaching out with the Force, the young teen instantly learned of what they were and he rises up on his feet, backing away from the dead, smoking arthropods.
"Kouhuns! Deadly insects from Indoumodo! We're lucky Padmé didn't get bit! She could've been killed by these things! But how'd they get in here?" Devon says
Obi-Wan looks toward the window on his left and notices the assassin droid just outside as it retreats to take off. But before it could, Obi-Wan jumps through the window and latches onto the droid as it flees into the galactic city of Coruscant. Devon and Anakin look out the shattered window, then look over toward Padmé.
"Stay here!" Anakin says
"We'll be back!" Devon says
Having said that, Devon and Anakin rush off to catch up with Obi-Wan while Captain Typho rush into the room with a few guards and one of the Handmaidens, Dormé, who goes to check on Padmé.
"Are you all right, milady?" Dormé asks
Out in the city, Obi-Wan clinged onto the droid as it flew through the city, passing by air speeder traffic through Coruscant's skylanes. The droid flies to the right into the side of the passing building as it flies by, hoping to lose the Jedi.
"Ah!" Obi-Wan exclaims in pain
Obi-Wan's right-hand grazes the side of the building, but he manages to keep his grip on the droid as it continued flying.
Devon and Anakin head down a senator parking garage several meters down from Padmé's apartment and they jump into a yellow custom-built XJ-6 air speeder. This speeder had a convertible design and had two seats: one for a pilot and one for a passenger. It's front bumper held the main engines of the vehicle.
Devon jumped into the passenger seat while Anakin piloted the speeder. They took off and began flying through the skylanes trying to follow Obi-Wan.
Obi-Wan was still clinging onto the assassin droid as it flew back to Zam. The female bounty hunter observed Obi-Wan and her droid through a pair of optics on her helmet. She then walked over to her speeder and pulled out a KiSteer 1284 projectile rifle. She looked through the optical/thermal sight and took aim at the droid. She knew that shooting Obi-Wan directly would leave a bullet in his body and the bullet would trace the shot back to her through an autopsy, so she was forced to destroy her droid. Once her sight was set, she fires a single red-orange bolt and shoots the droid, blasting it to pieces and sending Obi-Wan into a freefall, plummeting hundreds of feet through the air. At least now his death would be less suspicious.
After dealing with the Jedi, Zam places her rifle back into the covert forward mandible of her Koro-2 Exodrive airspeeder, which had a twin-forked nose and a sleek, green-hued body, and climbs into the cockpit, taking off into the city with the air speeder an aural howl.
Devon and Anakin soon came flying in and they saw Obi-Wan in freefall and dived down to him. Anakin set the speeder so that he was directly beneath his master. Devon climbed onto the back of the speeder ready to catch Obi-Wan. The Jedi Master falls onto the speeder and climbs into the passenger seat. Devon knelt down in a crouched position on the back of the airspeeder, holding on to the back of the seats of the vehicle.
"What took you two so long?" Obi-Wan asks
"Oh, you know, Master. I couldn't find a speeder that we liked." Anakin says
"Right there. That speeder." Obi-Wan says pointing toward Zam's speeder
"With the open cockpit and the right speed capabilities." Anakin says
"If you spent as much time practicing your saber techniques as you do your wit, you would rival Master Yoda as a swordsman." Obi-Wan says
"I thought I already did." Anakin says
"Only in your mind, my very young apprentice." Obi-Wan says
The trio pursued Zam across the skylanes, weaving past other airspeeders until she went into a dive, heading straight down hundreds of feet in the air, which was like riding a roller coaster. They were soon coming up to a large transport as it came across from the left. Zam pulls up and flies over while Anakin kept on with the dive.
"Pull up, Anakin! Pull up!" Obi-Wan says
Anakin simply laughed as if it were nothing to him. At the last minute, he pulls up and flies over the huge transport, going inches over it's surface as they continued their pursuit.
"You know I don't like it when you do that." Obi-Wan says
"Sorry, Master. I forgot you don't like flying." Anakin says
"I don't mind flying, but what you're doing is suicide!" Obi-Wan says
The trio soon chase the bounty hunter into the Industrial District, through the Greth Lan-Dwu Corp. electrical power-generating plant, weaving left and right past flaming smokestacks. Zam managed to gain some distance away from the heroes and she notices some power couplings up ahead. Sticking her KYD-21 blaster pistol out the left-side of the cockpit, she fires a single bolt at the power coupling on the left, causing it to spark with purple electricity. Zam flies past the power couplings just as electric bolts surges in-between them in jagged, throbbing arcs of powerful energy. This electricity in the power couplings was potent enough to induce heart attacks to non-Force Sensitives.
Devon saw that they were coming up on the power couplings and he braces himself. Summoning Soul Calibur into his right-hand, he raises the crystal Keyblade up over his head and creates a spherical barrier of light around the airspeeder, Anakin, Obi-Wan, and himself. As they pass through the power couplings, the purple electric bolts bounce off the barrier, leaving them unharmed. Once they were clear, the barrier dissipates in a flash of light.
Leaving the Industrial District, the heroes heads back into the skylines and continued their chase after Zam. Suddenly, the bounty hunter cuts a hard left and flies into a separate skylane, which went through a skyscraper while the trio flew past it.
"Where are you going? He went that way!" Obi-Wan says
"Master, if we keep this chase going any longer, that creep is going to end up deep-fried, and, personally, I'd very much like to know who he is, and who he's working for. This is a shortcut. I think." Anakin says
Zam speeds through airspeeder traffic, weaving left and right as she passes around other speeders. She flies out of the skyscraper tunnel. Feeling that she had lost her pursuers, the female bounty takes off her veil and smiles.
The trio kept on flying until they slowed to a stop and hovered in the skylane.
"Well, you lost him." Obi-Wan grumbles
"I'm deeply sorry, Master." Anakin apologizes
"That was some shortcut, Anakin." Obi-Wan says
While Obi-Wan was busy talking, Anakin looked over the side of the vehicle as if he saw something several feet down below.
"He went completely the other way. Once again, you've proven to-" Obi-Wan says
"If you'll excuse me." Anakin says
Anakin stood up and jumps off the speeder, going into a freefall. Devon and Obi-Wan looked over the speeder as they watched him fall.
"I hate it when he does that." Obi-Wan says
Anakin falls through the air, plummeting down several feet until he falls onto Zam's airspeeder as she passes underneath him. He lands on the back of the bounty hunter's vehicle, latching on with a firm hand-grip to the rear canopy handle. Zam pushes the brakes on the speeder, causing Anakin to roll over the cockpit and hang onto the inside of the left mandible.
Zam takes her blaster pistol, sticks it out the left-side of the cockpit, and fires three shots at Anakin to blast him off of the speeder. Of course, she misses having difficulty trying to control the vehicle and aim at the Jedi simultaneously. Anakin quickly lets go of the left mandible and clings onto the right mandible, switching sides.
The female bounty hunter then hits the accelerator, making the speeder go faster. Anakin is thrown backwards, sliding to the back of the cockpit. As he slid back, he caught a glimpse of something strange as Zam looked up at him through the cockpit. Maybe this assassin was more than she appeared.
The young padawan climbs up to the top of the airspeeder and ignites his blue lightsaber. He stabs down into the cockpit, creating a hole through the metal and nearly hitting Zam while she shoots her blaster pistol, rocking back and forth trying to avoid the lightsaber. The sudden shaking of the craft caused Anakin to lose grip of his lightsaber and it was sent flying through the air. Obi-Wan manages to catch the weapon as they flew behind them and hands it to Devon, who now sat in the passenger seat.
Anakin takes his left-arm, puts it through the hole in the cockpit, and grabs Zam's arm, which had the blaster pistol. Zam accidentally fires her weapon and hits the controls of the airspeeder with two shots, putting it into a violent dive through the air over the CoCo District. Innocent patrons and bystanders down below looked up and saw the flaming craft plummeting down toward the streets with a smoke trail behind it. Anakin falls off and crashes onto the streets below while Zam and her speeder crash into the ground with the mandibles smashing into the wall of a building, bending completely out of shape.
Anakin rises to his feet and saw Zam crawling out of the cockpit. She immediately ran through the crowd of people to escape into the streets and Anakin chases after her.
Devon and Obi-Wan were flying overhead in their speeder when they saw Anakin in pursuit of Zam in the streets below and move to find a spot to land.
After minutes of running, Zam flees into the Outlander Club, a popular gambling establishment and nightclub, one of many on the street. Anakin was about to run in after her when Obi-Wan and Devon catch up with him.
"Anakin!" Obi-Wan calls
"She went into the club." Anakin says panting for breath
"Patience. Use the Force. Think." Obi-Wan says
"Yes, Master." Anakin says
"He went in there to hide, not to run." Obi-Wan says
"Sorry, Master." Anakin apologizes
Obi-Wan holds up Anakin's lightsaber infront of him.
"Next time, try not to lose it." Obi-Wan says
"Yes, Master." Anakin says
"This weapon is your life." Obi-Wan says
Anakin takes his lightsaber back and clips it back onto the right-side of his belt.
"I know, Master." Anakin says
"Why do I get the feeling you're going to be the death of me?" Obi-Wan asks
"Don't say that, Master. You're the closest thing I have to a father." Anakin says
"Then, why don't you listen to me?" Obi-Wan asks
"I am trying." Anakin says
The trio turn and walk into the club and take a look around.
Inside, several patrons both human and alien enjoy themselves to some drinks and entertainment, whether it was in conversation or the live sports and events on the monitors and screens. There was a central bar which offered drinks and various cutouts where patrons betted on the sport activities occurring across the galaxy like podracing and grav-ball.
"Sure are a lot of people in this club. The assassin could be hiding anywhere in here. It's gonna be tough trying to find him in a crowded place like this." Devon says
"Can you see him?" Obi-Wan asks
"I think he is a she. And I think she's a Changeling." Anakin says
"In that case, be extra careful. Both of you." Obi-Wan says
"By the way you say it, it sounds like this person can shapeshift into anyone in this club. That just makes things more difficult." Devon says
"Go and find her." Obi-Wan says
Obi-Wan starts to walk away until Anakin stops him.
"Where are you going, Master?" Anakin asks
"For a drink." Obi-Wan says
Obi-Wan walks over to the central bar and ordered himself a drink while Devon and Anakin shared glances with each other. Devon shrugs his shoulders and went off in one direction. Anakin goes off into another direction as they looked for the assassin within the crowd of people and aliens.
The young Keyblade Wielder and Jedi passed many female patrons, who wore flamboyant outfits, designed to grab attention on the dance floor or the gambling tables. Any one of them could be the assassin. The two heroes remained cautious as they continued searching the club for the female bounty hunter. Hidden within the crowd of patrons, Zam approached Obi-Wan and pulled out her blaster pistol, preparing to ambush him. The trio sensed this and were on high alert.
When Obi-Wan sensed that Zam was close, he ignites his blue lightsaber and quickly turns around, taking a swipe at Zam and chopping her right-arm off, disarming her. The female bounty hunter screams out in pain and falls back onto the floor. Everything fell silent as all the patrons in the club turned to the scene unfolding before them. Devon and Obi-Wan walk over to Zam, pick her up by her remaining arm, and drag her outside. Anakin turns to the patrons and addresses them to return to their activities.
"Jedi business. Go back to your drinks." Anakin says
The innocent bystanders easily cooperated and went back to enjoying themselves.
The trio drag Zam outside into an alley in the back of the club and set her down on the ground as she grunts in pain from her wound.
"Do you know who it was you were trying to kill?" Obi-Wan asks
"It was a senator from Naboo." Zam says
"You mean Senator Amidala." Devon says
"And who hired you?" Obi-Wan asks
"It's just a job." Zam says
"Who hired you? Tell us." Anakin says
Zam remains silent, refusing to answer. Anakin started to grow impatient. He promised Padmé he'd find the one responsible for the hit on her and he was gonna find out, one way or another. After a few seconds of silence, Anakin demanded that Zam gives him an answer.
"Tell us now!" Anakin shouts in a raised voice
"It was a bounty hunter called-" Zam says
Suddenly, a toxic dart hits Zam directly in her throat. The trio turn around and see Jango Fett taking off into the air with his jetpack. Then, they turn back to Zam as she began to change drastically. Her human face degraded into sunken cheeks, a narrow nose, and a small mouth. A thin line ran down her forehead and creased the center of her nose. Her skin turned a sickly dark green color. Zam wasn't really human at all. She was actually a Clawdite or a Changeling as Anakin called her.
"Wee shahnit... sleemo." Zam utters in Clawdite with her dying breath
Zam falls backwards and dies from the poisoned dart. Devon and Anakin stare in shock by what they saw. Obi-Wan plucks the dart from Zam's dead neck and holds it up in his right-hand as he examines it.
"Toxic dart." Obi-Wan says
"We'd better report to the Jedi Council about this. They need to know what happened." Devon says
Devon felt that this strange mystery was deeper than he initially thought. Someone wanted Padmé dead, but for reasons why he did not know. Was it for revenge for something she did in the past? Or was it to keep her from doing something that was important to the Republic like the Military Creation Act?
The Keyblade Wielder stands up and looks back at where Jango Fett used to be. Who was the bounty hunter that shot Zam Wesell? Her partner perhaps? Did she plan these assassination attempts by herself? Or was she working with someone? There was just so questions going through Devon's mind. One thing was certain: Devon's second adventure in the Distant Galaxy was just getting started.
Author's Note: And that's how you start Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones. Devon is back in Distant Galaxy and he meets up with Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker who is now a Jedi Padawan, and helps to protect Padmé, who was being targeted by assassins. And he meets a surprise guest: Ahsoka Tano! Both of them have a duel and Devon comes out on top. That's another special friendship for Devon. At night, the assassins strike as Zam Wesell tries to kill Padmé with deadly Kouhuns. Devon and the two Jedi pursue the bounty hunter through the city and catch her and begin questioning her. But before she could reveal anything else, she was silenced by her partner, Jango Fett. Guess he's outlived Zam's usefulness. Now, Devon, Obi-Wan, and Anakin have to track down Jango Fett and find out who he's working for. Where will this mystery take them? Let me know what you guys think. No flames please.
