"N-Nail, what happened? Where is Kakarott?" Caracoll stammered out.
Nail and Jaco had just returned and were both visibly shaken. Caracoll and the other Namekians waited for Nail's response, all of them dreading the worst. After a few painstakingly long seconds, Nail inhaled and responded.
"Kakarott and Baachi Sr. boarded a ship that was emanating immense evil energy…." A collective gasp rang throughout the crowd. "...the best way...to understand…" Nail paused as he thought about the weight of the dark energy he felt. "It felt familiar, like Elder Guru's power, only evil."
As if summoned, Guru's voice rang out in the Namekians' minds. "My children, it appears the energy Nail has mentioned to you all belongs to an old namekian who now goes by the name Slug. He is headed to our planet. I'm afraid we must prepare for his arrival. We must awaken the ultimate warrior.
Caracoll sighed and looked around at the solemn faces of his brothers. "How much time do we have, great Elder?" he asked out loud. After a long pause, Elder Guru responded with his estimated arrival time for Slug. Caracoll smiled. "That's plenty of time!" He continued, trying to boost his confidence. "We will make our stand and protect our people and our planet! This Slug will rue the day he opened his heart to evil! It will be an honor fusing with you all!" He said, taking a long look at his brothers, then bowing. Sepholo, Shell, and Chime stepped forward and returned the bow.
"We accept and hope our strength will be enough to save the lives of our brothers!" They barked in unison. Nail realized what was about to happen and decided to step forward as well, but Caracoll put a hand out to stop him.
"Kakarott will be looking for you when he returns. Make sure he does not get himself killed!" Caracoll's voice rang out with a hint of sadness. His and Nail's eyes met, and a brief understanding was shared between them.
"I see." Nail bowed and took a few steps back.
Lemon crossed his arms, sighed, and turned away. "I will go and find the escaped prisoner and bring him to the spaceman. Come find me, if my strength is needed." With that, he flew off towards the Namekian wastelands in search of Miukedah.
"Can someone explain what the heck is going on?" Jaco screeched, his fear quickly becoming replaced by irritation.
Nail relayed what Guru had told them.
For a second, Jaco stood there with a stern expression on his face, then he spoke, "I had heard rumors of an evil pirate! Looks like we'll have to take him down, folks!" He smiled nervously as he remembered the immense power he felt. To him, it felt like a power that could rival most of Freiza's goons. He was finding it hard to believe the namekians could produce a warrior stronger than Zarbon or Dodoria. However….if they could stop this Slug guy, and he was to turn him in...Jaco smiled at the thought. It was a win-win, lock up a no-good evil-doer and help him rise up the ranks! "So uh..how much longer do we have?" Jaco asked nervously, realizing that he needed to check in with the Galactic Patrol soon.
Nail spoke, "We aren't certain...since they aren't here yet, I can only assume Kakarott has succeeded in stalling them." Nail looked up into the sky as he said this, silently wondering how his friend was faring. "However, if Elder Guru's estimation is correct, then they will arrive in 3 hours." Jaco gulped as he briskly walked to his spaceship to check-in.
"This is Jaco reporting in. I'm on the tail of a nefarious pirate, can't talk too long, but I'm close to apprehending the perp. No backup needed, the locals here have let their support. I'll check back in when I have more to share." Jaco hung up and scanned the skies for any hint of a scout or spacecraft but saw nothing. Then he realized that if they did stop Slug and his goons, they would need a larger ship to haul them off to the Galactic Prison. He sighed and redialed the number. "We're going to need prison transport, I'll send you my location in a few." He sighed. Something didn't sit right with him; he wasn't sure what but….he gripped his gun as his thoughts began to imagine worst-case scenarios. What if this guy is working for Frieza? He had only heard rumors of the self-proclaimed Pirate King Slug, but the two didn't work together as far as he knew. He looked around a the namekians as they trained for the coming battle and wondered if this Ultimate warrior of there's was strong enough. He sighed and punched in his location to send over to headquarters. He sent it twice and felt some of his worries lessen. With some backup, they could minimize any damage and ensure the planet's safety as well as the safety of its inhabitants.
Kakarott sat in silence in his holding cell, thinking about his family back home on Namek. He hoped no one else from there would ever turn evil like this Slug guy. He had an awful temper and abandoned a good portion of his crew on that planet they had crashed on.
"For a bad guy who wants to rule the galaxy, he sure is dumb." Kakarott thought out loud. He heard a rattling at the bars holding him in.
"How dare you question the intelligence of the great and intelligent Lord Slug!" Medamatcha screeched. His eyes flickered side to side as he tried to intimidate Kakarott.
"Well if he wants to be King or whatever, what's he going to do when he kills all his people?" Kakarott continued. Medamatcha gasped and began to sweat. "That's not a good way to lead."
"Um...well…
"Plus doesn't he care about his home planet anymore? He's a namekian, and Namek has to be where he was born. I don't know what happened to make him evil, but now he wants to go and destroy his home? That's just stupid. Or maybe he wants to force us to work for him? Which that, won't happen. We aren't evil like him." Kakarott shook his head, trying to wrap his brain around the concept of an evil namekian.
"Listen here you.."
"I don't know, if he insists on being evil, he might get himself killed or locked away. If what Baachi said is true, then Slug isn't the strongest guy out there."
"What are you even saying anymore you little punk?" Medamatcha hissed, foam bubbling out of his mouth.
"What's so confusing about what I said? I said he's not the strongest." Kakarott then turned away from the angry henchman and thought about what Jr. had said. As Medamatcha rambled on, Kakarott remembered that Jr. and Baachi told him that there were stronger, more evil guys in the universe and that Slug was probably as strong as the guys who had a super-strong boss. The specifics just confused Kakarott, but apparently, that meant something to Baachi. All Kakarott was excited about was that there are people stronger in the universe, which meant he himself could get so much stronger! He smiled, thinking about him, Nail, and Caracoll getting strong enough to protect the whole Galaxy from bad guys who tried to hurt Namek. He was lost in thought when suddenly a loud screeching snapped him back to reality.
"Are you even listening to me you snot-nosed little brat!" Medmatcha had finally finished rambling and was now yelling at the top of his lungs, hopping up and down. Kakarott yawned and rubbed his stomach.
"Are you guys going to give me any food? I'm starving!" His stomach grumbled like a feral animal. Medamatcha started shrieking again. Just then, Baachi Sr. entered the room and barked at Medamatcha to leave. Once the creature had exited the room and stormed off, Baachi spoke.
"We're taking off now, we should be arriving on Namek in a few hours….if we stop this idiot, we have to make sure he stays alive as my prisoner, and that I get to leave Namek no questions asked." He clenched his teeth, grinding them as he spoke these words. "I've given us insurance in case he manages to flee, but let's hope it doesn't come to that."
"Why are you telling me?" Kakarott asked, scratching his head.
"The namekians listen to you! If you vouch for me they'll let me go!" Baachi yelled, a thick vein pulsating on the side of his head. "You can tell them I'm not looking to hurt them and I only want what is best for our species."
"If you say so...but why would I do that? You're a bad guy now, right?"
"You little…." Baachi took a breath and sighed. "I'm not a bad guy, he is a bad guy, he wants to force our people into submission. I'm..."
"A good guy again?" Kakarott asked, hoping the old Baachi was still in there somewhere.
"It's not that simple you brat!"
"So you're not a good guy?"
"By what standards are you defining good? How can I even answer that question, you ungrateful, impudent little monkey!" Baachi's eyes were wide with anger as the vein on his forehead flared.
"Yes or no, it wasn't a hard question. I thought you were smart. Yes, you are good, or no you are bad." Kakarott shrugged, confused why he had to explain such a simple question.
"But.." Baachi stopped himself from responding anymore. His anger was rising fast, and he felt the quiet buzz of the spores in the back of his mind. He was starting to see them as a part of himself now. They reacted to his anger, but he was able to control it. Maybe he could use this parasite as a power boost? He took a breath and calmed himself, both excited and nervous that he might not need to do anything about the spores.
Jr. walked in and bowed. "Lord Slug is looking for you, sir." He said, his eyes darting back to the door. Baachi nodded and walked out, pushing past the person listening in.
Once he was sure it was safe to talk, Jr. began speaking. "We stopped at that place you said the pirates took you and got gas. Baachi convinced them that the ship could make the final trip to Namek. I think he has about a hundred soldiers left, but he keeps killing people….Baachi has a plan to eject you before we land so you can warn the others." Jr. sighed and grabbed onto the bars of Kakarott's cell. "I think we can trust him."
Kakarott nodded. "Ok!"
"That's it? You don't need me to convince you?" Jr. said nervously.
"If you say we can trust him, I believe you," Kakarott said, shrugging. "By the way, how long do I have to pretend I can't get out? I'm hungry and my nose is picking up someth…"
"Patience!" Jr. hissed. He was getting irritated with how calm Kakarott was acting. Wasn't he scared? Jr. felt his hands trembling. He took a deep breath, trying to block out the negative images of the namekians being slaughtered. "This will work...we can beat this guy…" he whispered to himself.
"Of course we can!" Kakarott proclaimed with pride. "I'm sure Nail has warned everyone already and they're just waiting for us to land so they can strike!" Kakarott's stood up, clenching his fist in triumph, his tail stiffened. "I'm ready!" He proclaimed as he began practicing punches and kicks.
Jr. wanted to yell at him, curse him, and swing him around by the tail, but he held back. He closed his eyes, and saw the great ape form in his mind, and gasped. That's it! He thought to himself. "If Kakarott transforms on the ship, Namek will be saved! But that meant…" he stared at his hands for a moment, wondering if he could accept that fate. He started focusing on creating that Powerball he used to force the transformation. He closed his eyes and smiled. He could save his people; all it would take was a sacrifice. Kakarott's kind moments began to play through his mind, and he stopped. Bastard! He let the energy dissipate. He couldn't go through with this reckless plan because then Kakarott would die too.
The door opened, and Medamatcha came back in with a toothy grin on his face.
"We'll be landing soon! Then the Namekians will have a choice to make….join us or die!" Medamatcha cackled with glee as he entered the room and sat in front of Kakarott's cell.
"How soon are we landing?" Jr. asked nervously.
Medamatcha smiled but said nothing. He stretched out and laid back, kicking his feet in the air. The door opened, and Angila and Wings stepped in.
"Medamatcha, stand up and stop playing around, we have to take the brat to Lord Slug." Angila sighed.
"But...but.." Jr. started to protest. Baachi Sr. was supposed to "transport" Kakarott and let him escape to warn the others.
Wings walked into the cell and tried to grab the Saiyan, but Kakarott was ready. He slipped his grip and pushed him against the wall. He then bounced around while charging an energy beam, avoiding Angila's and Medamatcha's attempts at grabbing him. He launched his blast at the wall opposite of his cell bars, tearing a hole through it and allowing him to escape into the next room. The split-second surprise was enough to allow him to run out of the room and escape Slug's goons.
Kakarott zoomed in and out of rooms, searching for one with a window. Angila, Wings, and Medamatcha were close behind, but Kakarott was fast. He would destroy walls and slide out the front door, hoping they fell for the diversion. The three henchmen did indeed fall for his trick, allowing him enough time to run to the cafeteria to try and bust out of the ship.
Once there, he looked out the window to see that they were over the Namekian wastelands. He smiled and began to wind back his arm when the wafting odor of cooking meat tickled his nose. He felt drool dribble out of his mouth, and his shoulders sag. He turned, mesmerized by the smell, and began to step towards the kitchen. He was halfway to the door when a group of soldiers burst through the doors looking for him. For a second, he and the soldiers held each other's gaze...frozen. Then they fired. Kakarott danced around, avoiding their blasters, and dashed towards the window. He launched himself headfirst through the glass and focused on landing safely on the ground. The ground started to rush towards him. As he began to charge a blast to break his fall, he noticed something peculiar. The ground stopped getting closer, and he felt a tug on his tail. The energy he had charged up disappeared, and he felt his body weaken. He looked up. Wings had flown down to snatch him out of the air and take him back to Lord Slug.
Kakarott squirmed and tried to wriggle free, but Wings violently spun him around over his head. Kakarott tried to force his body free, but Wings' grip was firm. Kakarott tried to push through the weakness, but Wings flew to the ground, slammed him down hard, and then started to fly up again.
"You're lucky Lord Slug wants to kill you his-self, otherwise I'd do you in now you little-" Wings never finished his sentence. Kakarott felt his grip loosen and then landed on the ground with a thud. He heard a loud crash, then a splash. Wings body had crashed a few feet away, but it appeared his head sunk under the water. Kakarott blinked in disbelief, confused at what happened. A voice growled at him from up above.
"Are you just going to stare at him all day, or are you going to help me?" Lemon's voice bit through the sudden silence.
"Lemon!" Kakarott exclaimed with a mix of relief, anger, joy, and sadness.
Lemon grunted and twitched his neck, motioning Kakarott to follow him.
"Caracoll and some others should have fused by now to fight off this evil bastard. I'm looking for that damn lunatic centipede. He's not too far from here, I spotted him before I had to come to save your skin. We'll drag him back with us and force him to fight! He owes us !" Lemon's voice was angry and direct. His eyes never shifted, locked in place to an unseen goal.
Kakarott followed him and felt a shudder run through his spine. Lemon was intense; Kakarott had never seen him like this. He drifted back a bit, choosing to fly a little behind Lemon. They found Miukedah looking as crazed as ever. Before Kakarott could speak, Lemon knocked the centipede man out and tossed his unconscious body to Kakarott.
"Carry him. We have to hurry back. Don't dawdle!"
Kakarott nodded, but Lemon was already flying away. He sighed and put the centipede man on his back, and started to follow Lemon back to where the others were waiting. He tried to keep up, but Lemon was slowly becoming a speck in the sky. Kakarott sighed and yawned. He decided to land nearby and catch a fish so that he could finally eat something. He set Miukedah on the ground, put his tail in the water, and snagged a fish. He launched an energy blast to cook it, and as it landed, he felt a whoosh of air blow past him. Lemon was back. He snatched Miukedah off the ground and stared at Kakarott for a second, shook his head, spat, and flew off again without a word. Kakarott sighed, swallowed his fish, spit out the bones, and followed. Elsewhere on Namek, Nail and the others watched as Slug's ship crashed down.
"We should strike before they have a chance to hurt any of our people!" one of the other warriors said.
Nail and Caracoll stood in place, silent and stoic. The plan was for Nail to lead the other warriors into battle, while Caracoll focused on a one-on-one fight with Slug. That was assuming they couldn't reach a diplomatic approach and appeal to the Namekians' good side, per Elder's Moori and Guru. As the soldiers stepped out, Nail and Caracoll found it hard to believe that this Lord Slug had a good side. The last to emerge were Baachi Sr., Baachi Jr., and two henchmen, both of whom had looked extremely irritated.
Baachi Sr. stepped forward and began to speak. "Presenting, the magnificent Lord Slug, future ruler of the cosmos, and strongest in the Galaxy!" He bowed and motioned to the door of the spacecraft.
Lord Slug lumbered out smiling. He cracked his neck and looked around at the planet, taking everything in. He began to speak in Namekian.
"Behold, your God has returned. I have come to lead you all out of the dark and into a brighter future! Rejoice, for your destiny has been realized, you will all serve the Great Lord Slug and strike fear into the denizens of this Galaxy! Now my children. I ask two things of you before we begin work on building my throne. Bring me the orbs that restored my youth and vitality, and the monkey boy who dared strike a god!" Slug smiled, proud of his speech.
Elder Moori stepped forward. "It is too soon for you to use the Dragon Balls again, even if we wanted to let you use them, we cannot. As for Kakarott, if he is not on your ship, then we have no idea where he is. If you wish vengeance on the child I offer myself in exchange, but we humbly ask that you leave our planet and our people alone. We can repair your ship and provide you fuel for your journey on the condition you forget this planet and never return or bring violence to our people." Moori sighed but stood his ground, staring down the evil namekian.
Slug and his henchmen roared with laughter. Slug raised a hand to stop them. "Maybe I should rephrase myself." Slug stated calmly. "Fine, maybe the boy is not here yet, no matter. Bring me the balls and their maker, now! Make yourselves productive while we wait for the vermin."
"As I stated. The answer is no. Now please leave." Elder Moori said calmly.
Slug growled in anger and made his way towards Elder Moori. His henchmen all drew their weapons and aimed at the namekians.
Caracoll walked in front of the elder and got into his fighting stance. Nail remained still but held a hand up to let the warriors know that they were on standby.
"The Dragon Balls were never meant to be used by the likes of you. If you do not leave our planet now, I will correct the mistake that was made in restoring your youth." Caracoll raised his guard, ready to pounce.
Slug laughed again. "You will bring them to me one way or another. Since you all seem to be disobedient servants, it appears your benevolent ruler has to teach you all a lesson." Medamatcha snatched Baachi Jr. up and dragged him to Slug. Slug lifted the boy in the air as his eyes began to glow. He chuckled and tightened his grip, but his laugh was cut short as his arm flopped to the ground. Baachi Sr. had pounced, snatching his son out of Slug's grasp. Slug launched an eye beam at the pair and struck Sr. in the back. Sr. collapsed and passed out.
Elder Moori gasped and motioned for the other Namekians and Jr. to help him take Sr. to get healed. Just then, Slug charged his eye beams again, this time aiming for Elder Moori, but Caracoll smacked the blast away. The attack went careening into Slug's henchmen. Caracoll charged at Slug and managed to knock him on his ass. Angila rushed towards them to try and help his master, but Nail flew at him full force and landed a kick, sending Angila flying back a few hundred feet. The other namekian warriors pounced, dodging the henchmen's blasts and knocking many of them unconscious. Jaco pulled out his weapon and began firing at Slug's henchmen as well.
"Where are you guys with that backup?" He yelled into his wristwatch as he took to the sky to provide aerial coverage. Jaco surveyed the skies and saw two specks approaching from a distance. "Nail, Caracoll, I think we have friendlies coming in, hold your ground!"
Nail grunted in response as he was now flipping around, trying to avoid Medamatchas minion attack. Medamatcha had launched four mini versions of himself to strike Nail. The creatures were fast and caught Nail by surprise. One of the creatures detonated on Nail's hand, forcing him to harden the aura around his fingers to avoid serious damage. He ducked and dodged, firing finger blasts at the other three. Just as he destroyed the last one, he was sent flying back. Angila had pounced and managed to return Nail's kick. He and Medamatcha rushed towards Nail to continue their assault.
Meanwhile, Slug was becoming frustrated that he couldn't overpower Caracoll. Caracoll was dodging every attack and maintaining a solid defense against Slug. He was starting to get a rhythm for his attacks, and as Slug pressed on, it became easier for Caracoll to anticipate his moves. He dodged every punch and kick and quickly found an opening to strike. He blocked Slug's right hook with his left forearm and slid his left leg under to slightly move his right foot. The quick shift in balance allowed him to land a gut punch. He felt his arm sink in, then felt resistance when he tried to pull his fist back. His arm felt stuck, and the quick panic was enough.
Slug's right knee came flying up straight into Caracoll's jaw. His left elbow then came cracking down on Caracoll's upper back. Before Caracoll could land on the ground, Slug punted him into the air. Slug flew up only to knock Caracoll back down into the ground.
Nail watched this all unfold as he tried to counter Angila and Medamatchas coordinated attacks. He managed to keep them away from him, but the two-on-one battle was requiring all of his focus. He was constantly on the back foot, and it was starting to feel as if they were toying with him. He looked around, happy to see that the other warrior clan fighters were faring better against the lesser henchmen, thanks to Jaco. When Caracoll fell, he created a crater in the ground. Nail tried to rush and help his friend, but this slight shift in focus gave Angila and Medamatcha the opening to back him into a corner. They pushed him into the center as they ran circles around him, intermittently striking him with punches, kicks, or ki blasts.
Slug landed on Caracoll and stomped on his chest. He snarled as he dug his heel into Caracoll, wanting nothing more than to stamp him out of existence. Caracoll winced through the pain but held onto Slug's leg. Slug tried to shake him off his leg, but Caracoll tightened his grip, wrapping his whole arm around the leg while using the free hand to hold onto Slug's other ankle. Slug reached down angrily, swatting at Caracoll's arms. As Slug lowered his head, Caracoll let out a powerful mouth beam he had been charging up. The blast temporarily blinded Slug, allowing Caracoll to slip away and regain his strength.
Caracoll rushed Slug, landing a quick succession of open palm strikes and putting him on his back foot before Slug could block again. Caracoll's kept the pressure going, landing a few gut punches before breaking Slug's defenses. He flipped back and let out a barrage of ki blasts at Slug, the explosions causing smoke to rise. Caracoll stopped to catch his breath when an arm came stretching out of the smoke, grabbing his face and lifting him into the air.
Caracoll felt an arm sink deep into his gut. His body felt like it was about to snap, all the air in his lungs escaped, and his vision began to get fuzzy. He saw a knee rushing up towards him, but he couldn't react to stop it. He felt his nose break and saw the world spin around him; somewhere off in the distance, he heard a child call to him, yelling for help. He tried to get back to the fight, but his mind was wandering; a warmth spread over him before he felt water rush over his body.
Slug smiled as he watched Caracoll crash into the water. He took a few deep breaths and looked over to see Angila and Medamatcha were about to land the finishing blow on their opponent. He smiled and turned to see how his soldiers were doing. He groaned in annoyance. Most of them were defeated; however, the Namekians who had done so were winded and tired. He began to charge up an eye beam to kill the remaining warriors when he felt a knee in his gut. He turned to see another large and angry Namekian lifting his arm in the air. His left eye began to sting, and he felt blood trickle down his cheek. He looked up to see the Namekian's right hand glowing, with what appeared to be an energy blade. He screamed out in pain and anger as he blocked another attack. Slices started forming on his forearm, and the air caused the cuts to sting. He concentrated his power and exploded energy outward, putting some distance between him and the bladed attacker.
Elsewhere, Nail took a deep breath and smiled as Lemon, Kakarott, and Miukedah arrived. While Lemon attacked Slug, Miukedah dove into the water to retrieve Caracoll, and Kakarott landed behind him, ready to help. Angila and Medmatcha stopped running.
"Ready Nail?" Kakarott said as he observed Angila and Medamatcha's movements.
Nail grunted in approval. Nail charged at Medamatcha, while Kakarott charged at Angila. Nail kneed Medamatcha and flung him into the air. Kakarott used Angila's defenses as a springboard to launch into Medamatcha at full force, sending him crashing into a nearby land formation.
Angila made a move to help his comrade, but Nail was ready. He kneed Angila in the gut then snapped his leg up, lifting him into the air. He charged up a full-power blast and unleashed it all on Angila, knocking him unconscious. Nail fell to a knee, trying to catch his breath.
"I only have so many cuffs, and I don't want to waste them on guys we can easily knock out. Help me cuff these guys before you guys rush off to fight the big bad, got it?" Jaco said as he landed and tossed Nail a pair of metal cuffs.
"Got it." Nail said as he took a few deep breaths. "Backup?" He asked as they cuffed Angila.
"They're en route. Should be here soon... hopefully." Jaco said as he looked at Slug with fear.
"Thank you, by the way." Nail said as Jaco gulped at Slug's ferocity.
"Huh?" Jaco asked, confused. "Oh, don't mention it. I am a galactic patrolman after all. All part of the job." He said, gulping as he watched Slug turn the tables on Lemon. "Go help your friend, I'll buy Lemon some time," Jaco said as sweat poured down his face. His hand reached for his gun. "Go." He tossed Nail two pairs of cuffs.
Nail sighed and nodded as he flew off to check on Kakarott.
Slug had easily managed to turn the tides on Lemon and was now pummeling him into the ground. He lifted him into the air, ready to finish him off, when he felt a stinging sensation on his back.
"Hey! Unhand him vile evil-doer!" Jaco said as he fired a few more shots at Slug. He zipped around him, firing a few shots hoping to distract him at least for a few seconds. From the corner of his eye, he saw Miukedah trying to wake up Caracoll. He continued zipping around Slug, turning his attention away from Lemon and Caracoll. He landed on the ground and fired at Slug's face, then ran and slid under him, shooting him in the back. Slug stretched his arm out and was about to grab Jaco when Lemon tackled him to the ground. Jaco sighed as Lemon headbutted Slug.
Jaco slid over to Miukedah. "Help him, I'll try to wake this guy up. Holler if you need me." He said as he tried to slap Caracoll awake. Jaco reached into his pockets, but they were empty. He knew he had some smelling salts; he must have left them in his ship. Jaco looked back to see Miukedah and Lemon holding their own against Slug. He looked from the bodies of the other Namekians to Caracoll, then back to Slug. "What should I do first?" he wondered to himself. Just then, one of the other Namekians began to stir.
"Hey!" Jaco rushed over. "Can you get the rest of these guys up?" He asked. The Namekian nodded as he also noticed Slug fighting Lemon and Miukedah.
"I'll take them to safety, hopefully, we can…." His voice trailed off as he noticed Caracoll unconscious.
"Don't worry about him, I'll wake him up! Just get to safety, and send any backup!" Jaco shouted. The namekian sighed and scooped up two other warriors and flew to safety.
He paused before taking off. "I'll send someone to retrieve the others." He said as he flew off. Jaco nodded and made his way to his ship...
Back with Kakarott, the young Saiyan had crashed Medamatcha into a land formation and unleashed a flurry of punches. Medamatcha was scrambling to get away, but Kakarott broke one of his legs.
"Wait! I can help! Whatever you want, I'll help you kill Lord Slug, or lock him up or whatever you want, just please don't kill me!" He whimpered as he crawled away from Kakarott.
Kakarott blinked, "Kill you? I'm not going to kill you." he said matter-of-factly.
"I'll serve you! I..I...I can be of use, I swear." Medamatcha screeched as Kakarott wound his fist back." You need me! I can tell you how to kill Lord Slug!"
"Why would you do that?" Kakarott asked. "And why should I believe you?"
Medamatcha took a deep breath. "Only if you spare me. Let me live and let me be free, and I'll tell you all you want to know! I'll tell you all about Lord Slug's abilities, his weaknesses, anything you want to know, I'll tell you."
"Shut up. You're just wasting your time.' Kakarott said as Medamatcha released four tiny versions of himself. Kakarott snatched two out of the air and crushed them. He had dodged the other two, but he felt them springing back towards him. He snatched those out of the air as well, and yanked on Medamatcha's tongue, and shoved them into his mouth. Medamatcha tried to bit down hard, but Kakarott's hand was in and out fast, forcing Medamatcha to bite off his tongue.
"If you're just going to waste my time, I'll make sure they don't need handcuffs when they take you," Kakarott said with a stern look.
Medamatcha gulped. "He's weak to ice or fire...they slow his regeneration. Plus he's more vulnerable in his giant form! He can't block every attack. He's much stronger but so slow. Please don't kill me!" He winced as Kakarott punched him unconscious.
"Did you get all that Nail?" Kakarott said as Nail landed nearby.
Nail nodded. "The only useful bit was about his Giant Form, but even then we run a risk. Our best bet is to work together to overpower him, but we have to hurry. Caracoll fused, but he's knocked out. I don't think the fusion finished settling in. Lemon is currently fighting so we have to get there quick." Nail said, cuffing Medamatcha and flinging him over his shoulder. "If we all work together, I'm sure we can win."
Kakarott nodded, and the two flew back to the battle with Slug. They arrived to see that Miukedah and Lemon were now fighting together while Jaco and the other namekians were gone. They landed next to Miukedah and Lemon, ready to attack.
"Is everyone else safe?" Kakarott asked, his anger starting to rise the longer he looked at Slug.
"The patrolman took them to safety. Said he'd return soon." Lemon said, gasping for air.
Slug attacked, punching Lemon in the gut while also launching a blast at the rest of the group. Slug elbowed Lemon over the head, then whipped around and snatched Miukedah into the air and spun him around over his head. He tossed Miukedah aside and blocked Kakarott and Nail's attack.
Lemon fell flat on his stomach... "I...I will not give up!" He yelled as he struggled to stand.
Kakarott and Nail jumped back and rushed Slug again. Each one was punching and kicking, their attacks perfectly in sync. The assault was forcing Slug to focus all his energy on defending, as Kakarott went low, Nail went high. Kakarott focused on the left Nail went to the right. They started to speed up their attacks, and Slug was unable to keep up. He dodged a few, but they were slowly beginning to land more and more attacks. He grunted. The attacks stung but didn't hurt.
"Enough!" He yelled as he released an explosion of energy, pushing the two attackers a few feet back. Just then, Jaco flew by, making a beeline straight towards Caracoll.
Slug tried to shoot him out of the sky, but Kakarott and Nail rushed Slug, each of them landing attacks on opposite sides of Slug. The blast missed, but it caused something to fall out of Jaco's pocket.
Slug whipped his arm around, but the two fighters dodged it. Nail ducked while Kakarott jumped into the air. Once in the air, Kakarott spun 360 degrees, kicking Slug in the face, then smacking him with his tail. At the same time, Nail swept at Slug's legs, causing the Namekian to fall back. When he landed, Miukedah burrowed out of the ground, lifting him high into the air. Miukedah flipped over and kicked Slug back down. As soon as Slug stood up, Lemon was on him. He put the evil Namkeian into a full nelson attack while Miukedah coiled himself around his legs.
Jaco watched in awe as this all unfolded. Lime and the Baachi's landed next to Jaco, and all three were also left speechless. All four stood in silence as they watched the end of the battle unfold.
Kakarott and Nail had started charging an attack that required all of their remaining energy. When Miukedah and Lemon held Slug down, they launched it.
"Double Namekian Assault Cannon!" The pair screamed out as they poured heaps of energy into the blast. Miukedah and Lemon slipped away at the last possible second, and the attack landed, washing over Slug. Miukedah was able to clear the blast, but Lemon was flung aside from the residual energy and knocked unconscious. Kakarott and Nail screamed as they tapped into the energy reserves they had left. They released the blast and tried to stand for as long as they could. As the smoke cleared, they looked over, and u were pleased to see that it had worked. Slug stood still, body shaking, mouth agape, smoke rising from his body. He took one step forward and collapsed to the ground with a thud.
"We did it!" Kakarott said as he Nail collapsed. They both smiled and gave a thumbs up.
Just then, Caracoll sat up groggily, holding his head. "Huh? What happened?" He asked, looking around in confusion.
"They did it!" Jaco said with glee, motioning at Kakarott, Nail, and Lemon. Caracoll's mouth opened wide in disbelief. Kakarott and Nail gave another thumbs-up, unable to stand up again. "And you're up! Guess I didn't need the smelling salts after all!" Jaco said, laughing. He reached into his pocket to pull them out but found nothing. He turned out his pockets and...nothing.
Baachi Sr. walked over to Slug and crouched down near him. His heart began to pound. All he had to do was reach out to absorb Slug, and ultimate power would be his!
"Hey guys, can you help me look for those smelling salts?" Jaco asked as he started to turn over rocks looking for the little stick.
Baachi Sr. smirked as all sounds around him began to turn to white noise. He slowly started stretching his fingers out toward the body. Sweat poured down his face as he licked his lips. He wanted to savor this moment.
"Seriously guys, I think they fell when Slug tried to shoot me down," Jaco said frantically.
Baachi Sr. closed his eyes and placed his hands on Slug's chest. He began to focus on absorbing all the power when suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Help me look, please?" Jaco said as Baachi quickly moved his hand off Slug. "They must have landed somewhere near…."
"DIE!" Miukedah shouted, rushing at Baachi Sr. All the trauma that Miukedah had experienced in the short time he was with Baachi Sr. started bubbling back to the surface. The mere sight of Sr. made him snap. Miukedah whipped his way toward Sr. and knocked Jaco over in the process. He wrapped his body around the namekian, hoping to crush the life out of him.
"Hey get off of him!" Jaco shouted as he stood back up. "You just knocked over a super-elite! I could arrest you for assault on an officer!" Jaco yelled at Miukedah, but his yells fell on deaf ears. Caracoll rushed over to try and pull Miukedah off, but the centipede man tightened his grip.
"Miukedah!" Kakarott yelled, struggling to stand up. "Get off him, please, we…" but before Kakarott could finish his sentence, Baachi had broken free. He whipped his hand out with immense speed and now had his hand around Miukedah's throat.
The centipede man thrashed about as Baachi tightened his grip. "Not so fun now is it vermin?!" Sr. hissed as he tightened his grip and shook him. Miukedah screeched in pain. The tighter that Sr. squeezed, the louder it got.
"Let him go!" Caracoll said, wincing at the sound of Miukedah's scream.
Baachi hesitated for a bit, but then Miukedah screamed louder and more shrill, his pitch reaching intense levels. The sound caused Sr. to let go and everyone in the immediate area to hold their ears in pain. Blood began to trickle out of Sr. 's ears.
"You bastard!" he yelled out, barely able to hear himself.
In the commotion, Slug had started to stir. Weakly, he lifted his hand to his nose and crushed the smelling salts that he was holding onto. Slug had heard Jaco's conversation and was hoping to kill Jaco, but when he saw the salts land by his feet, he didn't hesitate to pick them up. Now that he was awake and in pain, he felt relieved that he did that. As he inhaled, he felt his body perk up. He stood up and flexed his muscles. He wasn't at 100%, but he still felt strong enough to fight. Slug smiled and grew, stretching into his Giant Form.
"Jaco, come in Jaco, we are approaching Planet Namek, are we cleared to land?" Jaco's wristwatch began to buzz.
"I'm punching in the coordinates as to where you can land!" Jaco said as he dodged Slug's attacks. It appeared that Slug was targeting him specifically.
Caracoll flew at Slug, striking his chest and trying to knock him off balance. "Baachi, his feet!" Caracoll yelled as he flew away from Slug's hands. "Jaco get his eyes!" Caracoll yelled as he zipped around Slug, firing energy blasts at his body. Slug yelled, and the force stopped Caracoll in mid-air. Slug then swatted him out of the air.
Baachi Sr. began firing at his legs, but Slug kicked him aside. Slug stomped the ground knocking Kakarot and Nail into the air/ He was about to clap his hands on them to squash them when Baachi Jr. flew in and headbutted them out of the way. Slug's hands clapped on Jr., and he fell to the ground, unable to move.
"NO!" Kakarott screamed out as he and Nail landed with a thud. Kakarott struggled to stand; he looked around to see that Sr. had rushed over to Jr.'s body and was violently shaking him.
"You stupid child! Why would you do that?" He yelled as tears began to well up. Slug was about to step on the pair when a giant fist came slamming across his face. Caracoll had transformed.
While the two giant Namekians began to battle, Baachi looked at Kakarott with a seething rage.
"This is your fault! If he dies this is on you!" He stood up angrily and charged up a blast. Nail struggled to get up, but he couldn't move. Kakarott was too tired to move and fell over, trying to do so. Baachi sent his blast straight in the sky, scooped up Jr., and left.
Confused, Kakarott looked up to see the blast and instantly felt his heart skip.
Jaco was about to chase after him when he heard Nail's screams.
"Kakarott look away!" Nail screamed as he weakly tried to sit up. "Please, brother!"
Miukedah tried to rush after the Baachi's but Baachi Sr. stopped and fired a small energy blast at Miukedah, ripping through his heart. The centipede man fell to the ground, and Jaco rushed over to try and save him.
Kakarott felt his blood rush. The world around him faded into nothing. He tried to look away, but his eyes would not break their gaze.
Caracoll was too engrossed in the battle to realize what was happening. He had dodged most of Slug's attacks and was relishing in the fear that was washing over Slug's face. He had pinned Slug down, his foot on the back of his neck while he held his arm back. Just as a broke one of Slug's fingers, he heard a primal growl.
Kakarott had transformed into a Great Ape and was now beating his chest. The ape rushed the two giant Namekians, shoulder charging Caracoll. Caracoll went tumbling down, causing all of Namek to shake. Kakarott stood on Slug's chest and held on tight to the arm Caracoll had twisted. Without warning, he pulled as hard as he could, ripping the Giant Namekian's arm off and tossing it aside. The arm landed in the water, causing a giant wave to splash over Nail and the others knocking all of them into the water. Kakarott ripped off the other arm and banged his chest. Slug tried to shoot the ape with a mouth beam, but Kakarott pushed the beam back into his mouth.
Jaco flew out, still holding on to Miukedah's lifeless body.
"Jaco, we have landed we are en route, do you read?" Jaco sighed; they need to get the kid to de-transform fast, or else he'd be forced to take him in.
"Affirmative, send a pick-up team, but leave the ship where it is, the battle is coming to end, but I don't want to risk casualties." He said, then turned off his device. He knew they'd be upset he didn't send coordinates, but he also knew that they would still be able to track him. "At least this way, I buy us some time." Jaco thought to himself.
Caracoll had returned to his standard size and sighed. He had to cut off Kakarott's tail. He took a step forward when two large arms flew out of the water and punched Great Ape Kakarott, knocking him off Slug. Caracoll rushed over and sliced the arms in half. He landed near Kakarott, who had used his tail to springboard back to his feet, and pleaded for him to return to normal. Slug then returned to his regular size and grew his arms back. He started to crawl away when Kakarott punched the ground, knocking him into the water. Caracoll jumped in the air to avoid the attack but was then smacked out of the air again.
Nail had managed to pull Lemon to safety nearby and was able to wake him up.
"Help me cut off Kakarott's tail!" Nail yelled, trying hard to remain standing. "Slug is getting away, but if we do this, Caracoll can focus on capturing him." Lemon was still groggy, but he understood. Just then, they noticed Slug and his men were stunned and stopped by men in uniforms similar to Jaco's.
Nail focused his remaining energy on growing into a Giant. He held the form for just a few seconds, but the distraction was enough to give Lemon the opening they needed. Lemon rushed at Kakarott's tail and sliced it off. Kakarott slowly reverted to his normal size and started to free fall to the ground. Caracoll caught the Saiyan and thanked Lemon.
"Jaco, it appears you and the locals were able to mostly take care of this situation." The galactic patrolman motioned to Slug, Medamatcha, and Angila, who were now in dampening cuffs and being transported away. "Now about the Saiyan…"
"He's not a threat, please…" Caracoll started to say.
"It's dead," Lemon said, wincing in pain.
"As I was going to say….about the Saiyan. Protocol states that we have to bring him in, as he may be a danger to the inhabitants of this world…."
"Well, you see…" Jaco started to say
"...however, since it appears that this is not the first time you failed to report this to us…"
Jaco gulped.
"...and the planet and its people are still here, we will make an exception, with one condition. A galactic patrolman must periodically visit this planet to ensure nothing bad occurs. Got it, Jaco?" The patrolman said, implying that it would always have to Jaco.
"Yes sir!" Jaco said, saluting him.
"I'd like to enlist." Lemon stated abruptly. "There is another criminal who escaped today and I'd like to apprehend him." Caracoll looked at Lemon in shock.
"Jaco, do you support this enlisting?" The patrolmen turned to Jaco.
"I do sir. "Jaco said, smiling give them all a thumbs up.
"Well then welcome aboard. We ask you to join us on the prisoner transport, so we can get you to HQ for your orientation."
Caracoll was in disbelief. Lemon looked over at him and nodded; a silent exchange passed between the two. Caracoll understood. He'd protect the planet here, while Lemon would protect them off-world. They said their good-byes and bid each other farewell.
