The annoying sound seemed to be getting louder. It dragged Jade from a sound sleep and made her breach the warmth of her blankets to find it and silence it. Her searching hand grabbed her phone, and after avoiding a brief desire to launch it across the room, she shut it off. She set it down none too gently on the nightstand and groaned tiredly.
"Wakey, wakey!" Tori's loud greeting chirped. Jade scowled and pulled the blankets over her head. Tori laughed.
"Go away," she grumbled.
"Can't do that. You have to wake up on time," Tori reminded her.
"Who says?" Jade responded.
"Uh, you did. Remember? Yesterday you told me to make sure you woke up on time. Especially if you ignored your alarm," Tori replied, pulling the blankets away. Jade was really starting to hate her past self. She rolled over in an attempt to ignore Tori, but she only relocated to the other side of the bed.
"Ugh, the audacity of that chick from yesterday telling me what to do," she growled, rubbing at her eyes. Tori giggled.
"Come on grumpy pants. I made you coffee," she promised, hopping from the bed with enough force to jostle Jade. How in the world did she manage to live with such an early bird when she was a complete night owl? She laid in bed, sleepily staring at the ceiling and listened to Tori leave the room. She heard the sound of cabinets and mugs next. She let out a tired sigh and allowed her eyes to close. Just a few more minutes, or even seconds. She was just about to drift off when Tori returned, leaping on the bed and falling on Jade hard enough to knock the air from her lungs. She whined pathetically and grabbed Tori in a tight hug which progressively became tighter.
"I will squeeze the life out of you if you interrupt my sleep again, Vega," she warned, opening her eyes to glare at her. Tori squirmed uncomfortably in her hold.
"But you told me to wake you up," she protested with some difficulty. It was getting a bit hard to breathe.
"And you haven't learned yet that Morning Jade hates when Night Jade makes plans for her?" Jade prompted.
"No, I know that. But you also told me to remind you that we need to leave here early so that we can visit all those weird museums we found online, and you couldn't miss out on it just because you would rather sleep," Tori recited. Jade's arms started to relax as she recalled last night's conversation.
"Oh yeah. I really wanted to see what's in that coroner gift shop," Jade mumbled, yawning a second later. She released Tori who rolled off her, eager to encourage Jade to get up.
"Uh huh, and don't forget that Harry Potter one," Tori pointed out.
"You're the one that's excited to see that, not me," Jade told her, finally sitting up to stretch.
"I know," Tori agreed with a nod.
"Fine. Make sure my coffee is ready while I get dressed. We're going to the coroner gift shop and the celebrity cemetery first before anything wizard related," Jade ordered. Tori cheered, kissed Jade on the cheek, and ran out of the room. Jade sighed warily, but a smile pulled at her lips. She hated waking up early, but if it was to spend the day with Tori, she could make an exception.
