Hello everyone! Happy Sunday! I hope everyone had a great week and is looking forward to this new chapter. So, if you were reading my other story, I'm sad to say that I'm going to have to put that story on hold. It's hard enough to split my time between this story and school, so I have to make a choice. I'm planning on finishing this story first, then revisiting an old story that I had written out. I hope you aren't too disappointed! This story will be finished though, so don't worry! Thank you for reading!
Chapter Thirty-Two
I woke up to a loud pounding on my door. I looked at the clock to see it was ten in the morning. Edward wasn't here. He had to leave early this morning to deal with business. He told me he wouldn't be home until later tonight.
I walked to the door and looked through the peephole; Alice was standing on my porch, shivering. I quickly opened the door.
"Hey," I said as she walked in, "What are you doing here?"
"Are you just getting up?" She asked.
"Uh, yeah. I had a late night last night." I said, blushing; Edward had kept me up most of the night.
"Well, get dressed, come on," She said.
"Did we have plans today?" I asked.
"No, but Edward told me you weren't busy, and I need a shopping buddy." She said, "Plus, we need to get dresses for my mom's New Year's party."
"I think I'm just going to wear my graduation dress." I said.
"Absolutely not." Alice said, "You need a new dress. Go get dressed."
I grabbed an outfit from the closet and walked into the bathroom.
"Can I make myself a cup of coffee?" Alice yelled from the kitchen.
"Go for it," I said as I brushed my teeth.
I finished getting ready and walked out of the bathroom.
"So, where are we going shopping?" I asked.
"Fifth Avenue." She said before a sip of her coffee.
"Alice, I can't afford anything on fifth avenue." I said.
"Don't worry about it Bella," She said, "Edward gave me his card. He told me to tell you to enjoy yourself."
"No, Alice, I'm not comfortable with that."
"Bella, you need a gown for the party. And I like shopping on fifth avenue. So don't be a party-pooper. Come on."
She practically dragged me out of the house. My stomach felt like it was in knots as we drove to fifth avenue; I tried to persuade her to go another store, a more reasonably priced one, but she wouldn't budge.
Alice took me to a store named Ansel. I picked up the price tag of the first dress I saw, and my eyes widened.
"Alice, this is way too much," I whispered to her.
"Don't worry about it," She said.
"How fancy is this party?" I asked as I looked around at the dresses.
"It's really fancy," She said, "All of my family's business associates come. Our friends and our family. It's a big deal."
"I guess my graduation dress won't cut it then," I said.
"Hello ladies," A woman walked up to us, "Can I help you with anything— Oh Alice! I didn't even recognize you. How are you?"
"I'm good, Janine," Alice said as she hugged her.
"How was the wedding?"
"It was amazing," Alice gushed, "How are you and Rob?"
"Oh we're great," She smiled, "Well, you two go ahead and look around. Let me know if you need anything." The woman smiled at me before gliding back behind the counter.
"Okay Bella, so which dress calls your name."
"Uh, anything over there," I pointed to the section that was marked 30% off.
"Don't be ridiculous Bella," Alice said, "Edward wants you to buy a beautiful dress you'll love. He doesn't care how much money you spend. Just relax and pick somethings out."
Alice and I walked around the store looking around. I picked out five dresses that looked good. Alice had a couple too. Janine opened one of the dressing rooms for us.
"Okay Bella, what do you think of this one?" Alice walked out in a lavender dress.
I shook my head, "It doesn't really suit you. What do you think about this?"
She made a face, "No I don't think it works."
We tried on the next few dresses and modeled them for each other. When I tried on the third dress, Alice declared it was perfect.
I stood in the mirror and checked it out; it was a dark red form fitting spaghetti strapped dress. The front was cut in a 'V', but only showed just a bit of cleavage, but it was completely backless. There was a slit against my right leg that reached to my midthigh. The bottom was flowy a little longer. I liked the dress a lot, but I wasn't really sure if it looked good on me.
"You think it looks okay?" I asked as I spun in the mirror, checking myself out.
"It's hot Bella," She said, "You definitely need to wear it. You look so amazing in it."
I bit my lip, "It's a little overly sexy. Don't you think?"
"So? Be sexy in it," Alice said as she gripped my shoulders, "You're sexy. Flaunt it."
"Ugh, okay, fine. I'll get it." I said, "I like yours."
She was wearing a silver gown that was very tight on it, but it looked great. It was a one-shoulder strap and covered in shiny sequins. It looked great on her.
"I think I love it," Alice said as she checked herself out, "I'm getting it."
I looked at the price tag on my dress and nearly hit the floor; it was twelve hundred dollars.
"Alice, I can't get this," I said in a slightly panicked tone, "It's way too expensive."
She looked at the price tag, "No it's not."
"It's twelve-hundred dollars. It's way too much. I can find something cheaper."
"Bella, you're getting the dress," Alice said sternly, "Janine, we want these two."
"Excellent," Janine said, "I'll ring these up."
"Alice, seriously—,"
"Bella, I am serious. Stop fighting me." She quickly gave Janine the cards and walked back into her dressing room.
I sighed and walked back into mine. I carefully changed out of the dress, glaring at it. I wish I had looked at the price tag before I tried it on. Damn it.
"Alright Bella, I am starved," Alice said as she walked out, "We need lunch, what is sounding good to you?"
"I'm down for whatever." I said.
We spent the day on fifth avenue. Alice dragged me into a shoe store and made me get a pair of heels to go with my new dress. They were pretty shoes, but I didn't even ask the price. Alice wouldn't let me see. I was sure they were ridiculously expensive.
When I got home I quickly changed out of my clothes and put on my big coat; I was completely naked underneath. Edward was still at his house. We were supposed to be going out tonight, but I decided to surprise him early.
Before I left my house I had grabbed an outfit for when we were done. It was freezing outside, but I did my best to ignore it.
I felt like I owed him a little something since he paid for my dress and my shoes today. I always felt badly when he spent his money on me, but I never exactly knew how much he spent. But after seeing the prices today, I just felt like I needed to do something to repay him.
I walked into his house and found him sitting on his bed, pulling his socks on. He jumped when he heard me knock, then smiled.
"Bella, I was just coming to pick you—,"
I placed my fingers on his lips and pushed him back onto the bed. I unbuttoned my coat and revealed my naked body underneath. Edward's eyebrows raised as he looked me up and down.
"Bella—,"
I let my coat hit the floor before getting on my knees and grabbing his belt. I pulled his erection free and started stroking it, making it even harder. He gasped, his eyes fluttering.
"Oh…Bella…"
I wasn't quite sure how to do this; I'd never done it before. But I wanted to make Edward feel good.
I licked the tip of his several times, watching how his hands gripped the blanket. After a few licks, I sucked as much of it into my mouth as I could. I wasn't sure what I was expecting him to taste like, but it wasn't terrible.
Edward placed a gentle hand on the back of my head, gently guiding me up and down. His hips started thrusting upwards, shoving more of him into my mouth. I stroked the rest of it with my hands as he came, swallowing everything he gave me.
I leaned away, wiping my mouth as I looked up at him. His eyes were closed, and he was smiling. I got up from my knees and sat on his lap, kissing his neck.
"You are certainly in the mood tonight," Edward said, "What brought all this on?"
"Well," I said as I nipped his neck, "My dress and my shoes were really expensive. I figured I owed you."
He suddenly got very stiff, "You… owed me?"
I leaned away to look at his face, "I mean, kind of."
He picked me up by the hips and sat me on the bed before standing in front of me. He cock was still hanging out of his pants, but he didn't seem bothered by it.
"I'm not going to lie, I'm kind of hurt," He said, "Do you really think I'd expect you to do sexual things for me because I paid for an expensive dress?"
I shrugged, "I mean, I wasn't thinking of it like that. I just thought—,"
"In all this time we've been dating, have I ever expected you to do anything for me in return? If I have please let me know."
I crossed my arms, "Why are you getting upset?"
"I'm upset because you think you owe me. Why would you think that?"
"Hey, I didn't ask you to give me your card," I snapped, "I've told you before how uncomfortable I am with you spending a bunch of your money on me. I can't help it if I feel like I owe you when you drop all this money on me. I didn't grow up with a million dollars being pocket change."
"Bella I like spoiling you. I can't help it. It makes me happy when I can get you things. And I know that most of your money is tied up in your bakery, I don't want you to pay for things you really can't afford or feel awkward because you can't afford them."
"I am fine not spending a ridiculous amount of money on things," I said, now standing, "I'm fine with you not spoiling me. You know what makes me feel awkward? You spending your money on me. That makes me feel awkward. Not only that, but it also makes me feel bad because I can't give you back a portion of what you give me."
He rolled his eyes, "And you just saying that makes me want to spoil you even more. I want you to have everything. I love giving you stuff. I can't help it. But the fact that you feel like you owe me anything drives me fucking crazy! I can't believe you feel that way!"
My fists balled and I started to shake, "Because what the hell do I give you!? Seriously, tell me what the fuck I give to you that even comes close to the amount of money you spend on me! Eventually, you'll get bored and you'll want someone who can give you just as much in return."
He looked shocked, "So… you think I'll get bored and move on?"
I felt a prickle of tears behind my eyes, "Yeah I do."
"Why would you think that?" He asked, his tone softening.
"Because it doesn't make any sense that you like me," I couldn't hold my tears back, "I mean… look at us. Look at Tanya. And I'm sure those other girls you've dated look like her, or at least very similar. You and I were raised totally different. You're used to dropping thousands on an item you don't need; I'm used to layering up my clothes when it gets cold because I can't afford a winter coat. I just…" My voice broke, "When I look at us together, it doesn't make any sense for you to like me."
He was silent for a few minutes. I couldn't stand to look at him, so I looked away. I hated being so vulnerable about my insecurities. I wasn't looking for him to feel bad for me.
"Bella," he sighed, "I can't even… I don't even know what to say. How can I make you understand that I would never get bored with you."
"Don't worry about it," I said quietly.
"No I am worried about it," He grabbed me and pulled me to him; I tried to pull away, but he held onto me, "Bella, I'm going to be honest with you, and I hope it doesn't scare you off." He grabbed my face and forced me to look at him, "I think about you all the time. I can't get enough of you. I want to spend every moment with you. Even when we aren't doing anything except sitting and watching tv, I couldn't be happier. I've never thought I'd find someone that completed me, I honestly never knew I was incomplete before I met you. I know that you're not ready for marriage or anything like that, but honestly, if you said that you wanted to get married tonight, I'd hop on a plane and we'd elope in Vegas immediately. I would never ever get bored of you. You're it for me."
"How could you know any of that?" I said, tears still falling down my face, but I was blushing.
"I've dated a lot of women Bella. And none of them compare to you. I've never felt this way before about anyone else." He kissed my forehead and hugged me even tighter to his chest.
"I don't know what to say to that." I mumbled.
"You don't have to say anything. I just want you to know how I feel. I want you to know that I'll never get bored with you."
I sighed heavily, rubbing his back, "I can't change how I feel. I won't ever feel comfortable with the amount of money you spend on me."
He sighed, "Bella, I love spending money on you. I can't help it. I know it makes you uncomfortable, but I also know it makes you happy. And I love making you happy. Please, can you stop fighting me on it? It makes me feel good."
I groaned, "I can't help feeling uncomfortable."
"I know, I'm sorry," He said, "I don't do it to make you uncomfortable. I swear I don't."
"I know you don't. I just don't want you to think I'm like Tanya. I don't want you to think that I expect you to buy me expensive things."
"You are nothing like Tanya. You're always so appreciative of everything." He said, "That's why I love spoiling you. You don't expect it. To you it's always a gift, it's never an expectation."
I bit my lip and snuggled my head closer to his chest, inhaling his scent. I guess I was more insecure than I thought. As I started to really think about it, it didn't make sense for Edward and me to be together. He was so upscale, and I just wasn't. He would get bored with me.
He sighed again, "Bella, I swear, you are it for me. I don't know how—, wait stay right here."
He ran out of the room, leaving me standing there confused about what he was doing. I sat back down on the bed, grabbing his discarded shirt and pull it over my head. It fell to my thighs and covered everything.
He returned to the room, holding several pieces of paper. He looked me up and down.
"You in my nightshirt has to be my favorite look ever," he said as he sat down beside me, laying the papers on my lap.
"What is this?"
"Read it." he said.
I shifted through the papers, scanning through the writing. It was several handwritten papers of Edward listing things he loved about me. There were like five pages, front and back. I looked up at him in confusion.
"What is this?"
"Remember when I told you that instead of doodling now, I just list things I love about you? I wasn't kidding. This is what I do. I have a whole other stack in my desk at my office. I'll go there now and get it for you."
I chuckled, "No, you don't have to do that."
"Do you believe me now?"
I set the papers aside and nodded, "Okay, I believe you."
"Good," He put his arm around my shoulders, "Do you still want to go out?"
I shook my head, "No. I want to stay in."
"Do you want to get a pizza and just watch movies downstairs?"
"Yeah, that sounds good." I smiled.
Their first fight! Edward wants nothing more than to spoil Bella. And some insecurities were revealed. I love everyone's response to my version of Bella in this story. I honestly didn't intend to make her this strong of a character, she pretty much wrote her own personality. Girl power! Ha-ha. Anyways, hopefully you all enjoyed this chapter, until next Sunday!
