Pretty kimonos

Troubling sighs escaped the soft pink lips of one very disappointed young maiden.

She couldn't help but think of how much bad luck she had experienced.

1st! Her little show did not make her lord pursue her.

2nd! He looked to be awfully angry with her for losing her duel.

3rd! He hadn't stayed around long enough to accept her invitation to the odd valentine party that the priestess Kagome was throwing.

Kagome said she can invite whomever she wanted, and Rin had made a way to invite her three tutors and her demon friend Rashini along with Jaken and the lady Inukimi.

All refused her invitation however. Saying that it would not be worth their time. Rashini had simply told her that she has no freedom to go anywhere without the lady Inukimi so she was unable to attend.

These rejections to her heart filled invites truly hurt her deeply. What hurt the most is she knew that her lord would answer her similarly.

Rin sighed again out loud catching the attention of Kagome and Sango.

Both women busied themselves with hanging paper decorations of hearts and colorful lanterns when the loud melancholy sighs of a usually joyful Rin were heard.

"Hey, Rin? You ok?" Sango placed a motherly hand upon the back of the young girl comforting her only the way a mother could.

"Yes...I'm...I'm...Fine!" Rin broke out into a fit of tears. She palmed her face crying in self pity.

"You don't seem fine?" Kagome sat beside her in an attempt to comfort the young girl.

"Why don't you tell us what's bothering you?" Sango asked sweetly.

Rin cleared her eyes and tried to halt her needless crying. She sobbed a few times before taking a deep breath.

"It's nothing. Honestly, I'll be fine... I promise not to ruin your heart party? Or love celebration? I'm sorry Kagome I forgot what it's called.." Rin lowered her head in shame.

"It's called valentines party, but you can call it what you like. And you won't ruin it. Come on!" Kagome lifted Rin to her feet.

"I won't let you keep moping about. Especially when I know what, or should I say WHO is bothering you." Kagome gave a mischievous side glance to the girl.

Sango beamed in excitement. She decided to keep silent for a moment as to not show that she knew Rin was crushing on her little brother.

Rin looked surprised at Kagome. "How did you? Did he say something to Inuyasha?" Rin felt embarrassed and nervous.

She never thought her lord was the type to "share" let alone share with Inuyasha?

"No. But we are women, and we just know these things!" Kagome said leading Rin to her wardrobe.

"Was he here recently?" Rin asked wondering what her lord would be doing in a human village.

She hadn't received any new gifts and her lord didn't stop to speak with her so why would he have come?

"Yes. He just left not that long ago with Kirara. He should be back this evening though." Sango said with a smile as she combed through the large variety of beautiful silk.

"What!? Why? Where was he going? Why didn't he say anything to me!? He must be more upset with me than I imagined!" Rin was about to cry again.

"He isn't upset with you? Why would you even think that? He was just in a hurry to finish up with something so he can be back in time for the valentine's party. You have to remember Kagome invited a LOT of humans and demons. So we'll need a LOT of food." Sango smiled.

"Oh. I understand. He's helping out Kagome and Inuyasha." Rin slumped saddened again.

He knew of this celebration lady Kagome was throwing...He just didn't want to tell me no like the others...

"Oh lighten up Rin! Come on let's get you all dressed and ready for the party! I'm sure we have enough decorations up for now and Sango and I need to get ready ourselves!" Kagome handed her the prettiest pink and red kimono.

"Thank you, but I was just gonna help set up and serve. I don't really have a reason to get dressed." Rin reached to put her kimono that Sesshomaru had gifted her back.

"No! You are getting dressed! Hair makeup and all! And I promise you will have a great time!" Kagome snapped.

She seemed happy and angry at the same time which confused the melancholy girl.

"Rin you have nothing to worry about I promise you. He likes you just as much as you like him, he is just a little shy that's all." Sango half hugged the girl holding her pretty pink and red kimono against her chest.

"Shy? Really?" Rin looked at both women confusedly.

"Yeah come on!? You can't tell us you don't know that about him!? You are his best friend right?" Kagome said as she picked out a few pieces of makeup she knew her brother in law Sesshomaru had gifted the young girl with.

"I don't know about his best friend..." Rin blushed holding her cheeks.

Rin took in a deep breath and allowed the two women to use her as their own personal doll.

Could lord Sesshomaru really be shy?
