A/N: Happy birthday IconicGwen! A day late, sorry! Have some Drakgo family fluff.

This is also in answer to drakgoprompts on Tumblr's latest, "Fairy Tale," but only if you squint.

Happily Ever After

Shego pulled her robe tighter around herself against the slight chill her shower-dampened hair brought as she walked the halls. She had expected to find her husband in bed, but as he wasn't there she had decided to go look for him. It had been an especially busy week and she was ready to simply snuggle in and hopefully get a few hours of rest before the weekend began.

There were a few probable places he could have gone, but she started with the closest. The sound of an excited high-pitched voice and a softer, lower one brought a smile to her lips as it confirmed his presence in their children's bedroom. When she arrived at the open door, she only peered inside, not wanting to disturb the happy trio seated on their daughter's small bed.

"And then, look Drew, look!" Abby said, pointing at the page of the book repeatedly.

The baby that was next to the almost four-year-old peered at the page where his sister pointed, both of them leaned back up against their father's stomach where he sat back on the bed, propped up uncomfortably against the small headboard. Uncomfortable, Shego was sure, because she'd sat in that position herself many a time.

"And then Goldilocks ran away, right Daddy?" Abby asked, turning up to her father as she was satisfied her brother had seen the pictures.

"Yes... After Baby Bear exclaimed, 'Someone's been sleeping in my bed and she's still there!' Goldilocks woke up. She saw the three bears. She screamed, 'Help!' And she jumped up and ran out of the room. Goldilocks ran down the stairs, opened the door, and ran away into the forest. She never returned to the home of the three bears."

"And they lived happily ever after?" Abby asked.

Drakken's brow furrowed lightly. "Well...the bears did."

He looked like he wanted to say more, to Shego's eyes, but then thought better of it.

"Look Drew, look! See the baby bear?" Abby pointed again.

Shego looked at the way hers and Drakken's younger child stared at the page in curiosity, responding to his sister's voice. Abby was usually a quiet child, but she had become far more animated after her brother had come along. Drakken began closing the book despite the small finger still stabbing at the page.

"All right Abby Joy, it's bedtime for you," Drakken said.

"Daddy can you read one more?"

Drakken had picked up Drew Jr. before standing, his back cracking after being in the cramped position for too long. He set the book down atop a stack of several others, the sight of which made Shego's brow rise.

"You said 'one more' five books ago," Drakken responded.

Shego watched as Abby pouted for only a moment before starting to tuck herself into bed, while Drakken crossed to the crib to set Drew inside, checking the baby monitor afterward. Shego smiled as Drakken tucked the boy in, murmuring something she couldn't hear and then kissing his forehead. Then he turned back to the small bed with a smile, smoothing and straightening Abby's blankets.

"Daddy?" Abby said just above a whisper, beckoning him nearer. He leaned down closer, and she tugged on the shoulder of his robe. "Can you read one more story? If you're quiet it won't wake up Drew."

Drakken grinned. "No, sweetheart. Tomorrow night."

It was at that moment that Drakken saw Shego leaning in the doorway, and his grin broadened. He looked back at Abby and placed her stuffed bear in her hands before kissing her cheek.

"Good night, Abby Joy."

Abby sighed, glancing briefly at the pile of books. "Good night, Daddy."

Shego stepped out of the room and out of sight, having said good night to the children before her shower; she didn't want to excite them with her presence and keep them up. Drakken said another soft 'good night' from the doorway before closing it and turning to where Shego was leaned back against the wall, her palms flat on its surface. When Drakken turned she moved quickly, throwing her arms around him and kissing him through his surprised saying of her name.

"What's that for?" he asked through a gasp when she finally pulled back.

"For being an amazing father."

Drakken looked surprised and delighted by her words, but his own arms settled around her as he rose a brow and responded.

"I couldn't be, without you being an amazing mother."

Shego felt warmth in her chest, but she smirked. "So we agree that we're amazing parents."

Drakken made to turn, and Shego went with him as they started down the hall toward their bedroom, arms around each other's waists.

"Against all odds..." Drakken said idly.

Shego looked at him. "What do you mean?"

"Just...no one would have guessed that we would succeed at this," Drakken clarified.

Shego frowned and considered. She herself hadn't been sure she could do it...but...

"I knew that together, we would," she said, turning back to him.

Drakken's brow rose and he blinked a few times, thinking over her words. After a moment his face relaxed into a soft smile, and he tightened his arm around her as they entered their bedroom.

"And if you're not sure," Shego continued, stopping him as he made to take off his robe and nodding back in the direction of the kids' room, "the evidence is back there."

"I'm sure," Drakken said, looping his arms around her waist again.

She kissed him with passion, and this time when Drakken when pulled away breathless she gave him a knowing smirk.

"I thought you wanted to get some rest?" Drakken said.

"We can rest...after," Shego said, letting her hands drift down to the belt of his robe. Her smirk broadened. "And who knows...we might end up needing another crib."

Drakken's brow shot up, and Shego watched anything else in his mind vanish by the look in his eyes.

"Really?" he asked.

Shego shrugged. "Either way, we live happily ever after."

Drakken's expression bloomed into a full smile, and he leaned down to kiss her.

"We do."
