Chaos And Despair.

Lights flashes as a brutal battle was going on between two powerful beings The Fallen Hero Sephiroth, and the deadly being named Mephiles The Dark . The two clash swiftly blocking each other's hits, with Mephiles using magic from his hands to block Sephiroth's sword. Sephiroth eventually manages to deliver a strong kick to Mephiles' chest, knocking him back several feet. Mephiles halts to a stop while still in the air, while giving Sephiroth a hard glare, one only a being of darkness and hate could pull of.

Mephiles summons several dark projectiles before firing them at Sephiroth, but the former Great Hero easily smashes them out of the air with his sword, swinging it at speeds no normal human could ever hope to pull of. Sephiroth quickly rushes Mephiles, unleashing a speedy barrage of stabs that Mephiles just barely managed to avoid, before Sephiroth raised his sword for a downward strike which Mephiles was forced to block, but the sheer force of the blow sent him crashing in to the ground. However, Mephiles still managed to fly back up and unleashed a powerful shock wave.

Sephiroth merely shielded his eyes from the shock wave, but still remained standing perfectly in place as Mephiles prepared another attack. Mephiles unleashed a powerful beam of pure destructive energy, but Sephiroth held up his hand and created a barrier that managed to hold up against the powerful attack. However as the attack stopped, Sephiroth noticed Mephiles was o longer there... but the Hedgehog looking malevolent being showed up right in front of him, holding a hand right in front of his chest. Mephiles smiles as he unleashed a blast in to Sephiroth's chest, sending him sliding back several feet.

"Alright, you have convinced me of one thing. You are indeed more powerful than most mortals I've met. But you are a mortal none the less, not worthy of the title of a God" Mephiles said darkly.

Sephiroth brushed himself of "For a tiny creature, you are powerful. But you are yet to convince me that you strong enough to judge me".

"Mortal arrogance, a god should be beyond such a pathetic weakness. In the end you are no different from the others, you are just a weak mortal playing around with power you could never hope to understand. This place, the Lifestream. This is where the people of your world goes when they die, don't they? And I can sense your connection to it, meaning you are already dead" Mephiles chuckled darkly "You are even more pathetic than I thought. You are just a dead man playing god".

Sephiroth smiled calmly, not the least be provoked by Mephiles' taunts "Your words have a strong irony to them. Aren't you nothing but a shadow of someone you have failed to defeat? Kind of silly to me. Being lectured by a puppet who doesn't even possess a will of his own".

"Arrogant filth" Mephiles said before he focused more of his power.

Lucina watched as the two kept on clashing. But then she noticed... a small rift in the Lifestream, like caused by the clashes between those two powerful beings. It looked like it was leading out of this place, but Lucina had no idea where she could end up. But wherever it was, it was likely better than this place. If she stayed any longer she would likely be caught in the crossfire. So she made a quick dash for the rift and jumps through it.

"No" Sephiroth said as he noticed Lucina escape.

The brief distraction was all Mephiles needed as he rams Sephiroth, smashing him through several floating boulders before crashing him in to the ground. Mephiles flies up, unleashing more blasts at Sephiroth, hitting him several times, and bringing him to his knees. Mephiles howered in front of him while looking down at him. He held up a hand as he prepared another blast to finish him of.

"You did well. Better than most. But in the end, you are still just a mortal. And like all mortals, you die" Mephiles declared... before a slicing sound was heard and grunts as he goes back a little, noticing a wound on his side "What?".

"I will confess, I underestimated you. You are indeed powerful. But you refused to see the truth. I am no mere mortal: I am Despair" Sephiroth declared as a single black wing sprouts from his back.

Mephiles barely had time to react as Sephiroth dashed up and delivered a upward slash that sent Mephiles in to the air. Sephiroth follows up by using Shadow Flare on an airborne and vulnerable Mephiles, causing some visibel damage. Mephiles flies higher to gain some distance, but suddenly several Sephiroths began attacking him. Mephiles knew right away they were illusions, he just had to pin point the real one, which was easier said than done as he was attacked from all directions. Mephiles growls and lets out a large blast, destroying all the illusions... but then was impaled from behind by Sephiroth's sword.

"How...?" Mephiles wondered.

Sephiroth smiles "You are indeed powerful, but it wasn't to hard to figure you out. Despite your impressive power, you lack any real combat training. I learned years ago that power alone is not always enough to win a battle, and you need the proper skills to use them to their greatest effect. All I needed was one good opening, and now, you are finished".

Mephiles chuckles "Very well, I will admit defeat this time. But do not think for a moment that you accomplished anything here today. This is just one of my many forms, I will always return, no matter how many times I am struck down. You will never truly destroy me".

"Then by all means, keep coming back. You will always lose to me, and I will be happy to kill you over and over again" Sephiroth declared before he made a swift movement and Mephiles was cut in half. The dark being merely laughed as his body slowly vanished "Now, young princess. Where did you go?".

As for Lucina, she felt out of the rift which closed behind her. She takes a few moments to catch her breath... only to look up when she heard growls... she saw several demons in front of her. She escaped one hell, just to jump right in to another. She pulled out her sword, ready to defend herself. But the demons made no move to attack her. Lucina wondered why until she felt something behind her. She slowly turned around and saw a very tall man looking down at her. This man was Dracula. Originally a human called Mathias Cronqvist, Dracula fell into madness after the death of his first wife and became an immortal vampire thanks to the powers of the Crimson Stone. With his dark powers, he built an army of creatures and his fortress, Castlevania. Since the 11th Century, the Belmont Clan stood in opposition to Dracula and legendary warriors confronted him each time he came back from the dead.

"Your soul is unlike most humans. Tell me child, why are you here in my castle?" Dacula asked.

"I-I didn't mean to come here. I was trapped in place for a long time and just took the first chance I got to escape" Lucina answered. This man had a dark and deadly aura around him.

"I see, I too have experienced some confusing other world things. I take it you don't know how we all ended up here?" Dracula asked.

"I don't fully understand it. But from what my allies told me, some being calling himself the Maestro, did something which caused multiple realities to merge together, effecting both time and space as people that should be long dead is also here" Lucina answered. She didn't know why, but Dracula's aura made her want to tell him, since she didn't want to risk a battle that would likely end in her death.

Dracula thinks about this until suddenly the rift from before opened up... and Sephiroth stepped through it.

"No! Not again!" Lucina said as she points her blade towards Sephiroth "Leave me alone!".

Dracula gave Sephiroth a small glare "Who are you?".

"Who I am is nothing you need to worry about. Give me the girl, and I will be gone" Sephiroth said calmly.

"And what does he desire you for, child?" Dracula asked as he glanced at Lucina.

"I barely understand half of the things he's said to me. But he is the one who kept me trapped in his Lifestream. I just escaped, I am not going back there! Please, don't let him take me!" Lucina pleaded. It wasn't like her at all to beg, and normally she would die many times over before she ever begged a stranger for anything. But she had a bad feeling that if Sephiroth captured her again, she would wish for death.

"Very well, since you've been rather helpful, I will do you this one favor. But I will not do this again unless you continue to be useful" Dracula said before looking back at Sephiroth "Leave, or suffer the fire of hell".

Sephiroth smiled "We could've settled this peacefully. But like most pitiful humans, you try to stand against despair".

Demons attacked, but Sephiroth easily cut through them before he dashed towards Dracula and stabbed him through the chest, causing Lucina to gasp, worried that she had already lost what little help she had finally got. But Dracula simply laughed, despite having a sword in his chest.

"Human? Despair? I am no human, nor am I a simple Vampire" Dracula said before she suddenly grabbed Sephiroth by the throat "I am a god! And you are yet to experience true despair!".

Sephiroth felt something... he felt his life force, his very soul, was being sucked out of his body. Sephiroth quickly freed himself from Dracula's grip and jumped back. He glared at the Vampire, before looking over himself. He still didn't have access to his full power yet, which has left him severely weakened. He knew tyring to fight Dracula in his own domain, with no knowledge on how to defeat him, wouldn't go to well.

"Very well, I shall take my leave for now. But we will meet again" Sephiroth declared before he vanished.

"Alright, your problem has been dealt with for now. But remember our agreement, child. You are far from free" Dracula warned.

Lucina wondered if she just traded being imprisoned by one monster, just to become the prisoner of another.

Back at the hero base, Laura, Logan and Alucard were ready to head out on a mission. Tony had told them that strange readings had been detected, which match the readings of magic. And while a drone investigated it, demons made sure it didn't catch much. Alucard had a feeling those demons came from his father, so he agreed to check it out, along with Laura and Logan.

"So your father is Dracula huh? And your name is pretty much his name but backwards" Logan said.

"I am aware of that fact. But yes, Dracula is my father. He is very dangerous, and needs to be stopped" Alucard said.

"Trust me, I am no stranger to vampire crap. There is a Dracula back from our world too. And I really hope he is not here too. Two Draculas would just be way to much" Logan said.

"Two Draculas, that would be annoying" Laura agreed before looking at Alucard "But are you sure you are willing to do this, Alucard? He is your father, and I know from experience that fighting your father hurts more than anything else".

Alucard closed his eyes for a moment before he sighed "My father he may be. But he died a long time ago. It's up to me to finally put him down for good, and stop his genocide. There is no place in the mortal realm for him anymore".

Laura watched as Alucard walked on ahead, and Logan put a hand on her shoulder "Don't worry about him to much, kid. This is something he needs to do. For his own sake if nothing else. It's the only way he will finally be able to move on with his life. And live freely without having to worry about his father all the time".

"I hope you are right... let's go" Laura said.

They headed out with Alucard. Not really knowing what to expect from this mission.

.

Been a while, and this chapter was not as long as I would've liked. But with any luck, now that Lucina is free from the Lifestream, and the roades our heroes are taking is about to lead to the same place, hopefully the next one will be longer.

And yes I saw the reveals for the new characters. They are pretty cool, but until Tekken, Halo or heck even Mortal Kombat are revealed (The chances are slim to none, I know, no need to bring it up), I won't be to hyped by new characters, unless they come out from nowhere with a character I never would've expected.

.

Tell me what you think.
