So I know that this is mostly just the Shield Hero anime but with crossover characters, and I've been thinking of ways to fix that. I've got a few ideas, but I don't know how I'm going to work them in (maybe sometime during season 2?). I do have one thing I definitely want to make happen for this part of the story.

BGM: Dire Dire Docks - Super Mario 64

Aris and Loretta swam through the shimmering blue ocean with their Zora Armor allowing them to breath underwater, Raphtalia following close behind after having downed her Gill Elixir. Filo swam alongside them.

At the bottom of the sea below them, there was, sure enough, a sort of building with a red roof. It was somehow perfectly intact. There's gotta be a way we can get inside, Aris thought. Even if I don't think we can open the door underwater.

Aris reached towards the door with his right hand after he and the others had set foot on the sea floor. The Triforce of Courage gleamed on the back of his hand, and the door opened. "There's air inside?" said Loretta, her voice wavering because of the water surrounding her.

Aris and the girls entered the doorway, surfacing in what looked like some sort of grotto. "It's so dark," said Filo. "I can't see anything."

"Taken care of!" said Raphtalia. "Fast Light!"

Light erupted from the Demi's hands, illuminating the room. Aris and the girls gasped at the sight before them.

"It's a Dragon Hourglass!" exclaimed Loretta. "And it looks just like the one back at the capital."

"Is that a bad thing?" asked Filo.

"It's really bad," Aris affirmed. "Any place that has an hourglass can be hit by one of the Waves." The Hylian lifted his left arm, analyzing the hourglass. A countdown timer appeared on his display window. "And it's saying that the next Wave happens in two days!"

"If the Wave hits this place, the islanders are all going to die!" Raphtalia cried.

"Don't forget there are other Dragon Hourglasses," said Aris. "That means there's a chance the Wave might not hit this place."

"I know, but still!" said Raphtalia. "It's possible."

Aris nodded. "It is, but don't get too hung up on it."

"We've gotta alert the Queen," said Loretta. "But how?"

Aris thought for a moment before remembering. "Aha! We'll use my teleportation skill!"

"Your teleport skill?" asked Filo.

"Yeah," said Aris. "Itsuki told me about a skill that lets us teleport to any area we've already been to. We'll head back and alert the others first, though."

"Right," said Raphtalia.

The Rebellion of the Shield arrived at Melromarc Castle. "Your Highness!" Aris exclaimed to Queen Mirellia. "We've got news, and it's not good!"

"What is it?" said the Queen. "I thought you all were at Cal Mira."

"Aris has a teleportation skill, apparently," Pit explained.

"But, that's not why we're here," said Loretta. "Underwater, just off the coast of one of Cal Mira's islands...we found a Dragon Hourglass."

"An hourglass?!" exclaimed the Queen. "That means that Cal Mira Archipelago can be hit by the next Wave!"

"It might be," said Aris. "That's why we need to prepare, just in case those people do end up getting hit."

"I'll arrange some ships and my army at once," the Queen offered. "Thank you for alerting me."

An armada of ships sailed through the waves, loaded up with soldiers, the four Heroes, and their parties. Aris smiled at the now armored Queen, impressed. "Good to know you're able to get together your army on such short notice."

A familiar girl's voice responded. "Oh, it wasn't too big a deal. Preparing for the Waves is our responsibility, after all."

"Wait a minute," said Filo. "What are you doing here, Mel?"

Melty was slightly offended, but not too much. "I-I'm part of your party, sort of."

"I'm happy you're here," Ness assured the princess. "I mean, I'm always happy when I get to see you."

Melty smiled, averting her gaze as her cheeks became dusted with pink.

"Have the people already been evacuated?" asked Raphtalia.

Queen Mirellia nodded. "The Earl of Habenburg didn't hesitate one second. He's already finished evacuating all of the islanders. Besides, we have every reason to believe this Wave will be happening out here at sea. Right now, you only need to worry about making it through the fight."

"Good point," said Aris, "but we shouldn't be too confident."

"And, the other Heroes still don't seem willing to work together," Loretta added.

The Queen nodded. "They do seem to think leveling up at Cal Mira was enough."

"Seems like things are going to get ugly again," said Cloud.

Joker pointed to a ship some distance away. "Over there! It's L'Arc and Therese!"

Sure enough, the red-haired male and the blue-haired female were on that ship to which Joker was pointing. "They're fighting the Wave, too?" said Loretta.

"Apparently," said Raphtalia. "And I'm glad they're on our side."

"Yeah," agreed Aris. "They're more reliable than the other Heroes."

"Gee," said Melty. "Not often you put so much trust in others, Aris."

Aris looked at his timer. "It's about to start."

As the clock ticked down to 0, the Queen announced. "Our time begins now! Everyone, prepare for battle!"

In a shower of golden light, the ships were teleported elsewhere.

After the teleportation was complete, knights began dumping barrels into the ocean as monsters flew from the blue vortexes in the now-crimson sky. Even the water itself had turned red.

Suddenly, the barrels started to explode one by one, sending columns of seawater upward. "Explosives?" said Joker.

"Yeah!" answered a sailor. "They're fueled by Cohol Fruit!"

"Cohol Fruit?" said Aris to himself.

From the ocean, the heads of aquatic monsters surfaced. Aris realized. "I get it now! Alcohol is even more effective on monsters than people!"

The archers on the ships began to rain down arrows on the surfaced beasts. "Don't let up!" Itsuki Kawasumi commanded. "Keep firing!"

Loretta pointed to something. "Guys?"

In the distance, a large head surfaced from the sea. It was a massive aquatic monster, with what looked like the head of a t-rex and a massive narwhal horn. This was the Wave's boss monster, known as a Leviathan.

Wave Boss

INTER-DIMENSIONAL LEVIATHAN

Loretta summoned the Bow of Light and fired a gleaming Light Arrow, only for the Leviathan to dive underwater and start swimming towards the ships.

As the Leviathan surfaced and destroyed one of the ships, Queen Mirellia addressed Aris. "Shield Hero, we'll need you to keep that thing in check."

"You make it sound easy," said Aris, "but that thing's underwater 99% of the time."

"You have your Zora Armor," Pit reminded him.

Aris nodded, casting a simple spell to switch his normal clothing with his Zora Armor. The Hylian leaped over the edge and dove beneath the waves, swimming after the gargantuan fish with the incredulous speed of a Zora.

Once he'd spotted his target, Aris used a new skill he'd learned to get its attention. "Hate Reaction!"

Engulfed in red light, the Leviathan turned around, its attention now focused on Aris. The Hylian leaped out of the water with the beast on his tail. "Guys, now!" he called out.

Itsuki and Loretta raised their bows. "Meteor Shot!" exclaimed Itsuki.

"Light Arrow!" Loretta called.

"Meteor Thrust!" yelled Motoyasu.

"Meteor Slash!" finished Ren.

The attacks all hit the Leviathan at the same time. "Alright!" Joker cheered as the beast splashed into the water.

A beam of energy erupted from the sea, blowing another ship to pieces. Queen Mirellia gasped as Aris landed beside her. "Not good," said the Hylian. "Those attacks didn't even make a dent in that thing."

"This one will!" exclaimed Raphtalia. She manned a harpoon gun, firing a glowing green harpoon at the Leviathan. The projectile pierced the beast's side, and the sea monster let out a blood-curdling roar.

Now that she's leveled up this much, Raphtalia's doing a hell of a lot more damage than the other Heroes, Aris thought. But even so, she can't finish that thing off alone.

More bombs burst in the water.

Suddenly, amphibious monsters with fish-like appearances and humanoid bodies clambered aboard the Queen's ship. Melty lifted her hands. "Zweit Aqua Shot!"

Loretta helped her. "Vaporeon, use Surf!"

Vaporeon's Surf and Melty's Zweit Aqua Shot combined to form a destructive wave of water, washing away the monsters and saving the sailors. "You all are okay, right?" said Melty.

Out of nowhere, another amphibian jumped up and grabbed the princess, attempting to pull her with it beneath the waves. "Melty!" cried Queen Mirellia.

Ness arrived on the scene, jumping overboard and smacking the monster away from Melty with the Magicant Bat. He used a fairly weak version of PK Flash to propel himself and the Princess back to the deck.

L'Arc reared his scythe. "Skybound Wheel Swing!"

With a sweep of his weapon, a tornado hurtled forth at the amphibians, blowing them away and sending them flying into the distance. Another few amphibians leaped aboard, only for Aris to shout, "Lycanroc, use Stone Edge!"

The Rock-type left Aris's side and bolted at the amphibians, her mouth holding a blade of stone. Lycanroc jumped and plowed right through the monsters, killing them.

"L'Arc!" Aris called out, hanging from the top of the mainsail with Filo perched beside him. "We've gotta attack the big guy head-on! Don't worry about falling into the water; Filo and I can bail you out!"

"I'll help," L'Arc replied, "but get its fat ass outta the water so I can hit it!"

"Taken care of!" Aris exclaimed. "Filo, let's dive!"

"Right!" said the Filolial.

As Filo leaped from the top of the mast, Aris swung from his hanging spot and dove into the crimson waves with her. The father-daughter swam through the reddened sea, quickly finding the behemoth of a monster and getting its attention. As the beast hurtled towards them through the water, Aris and Filo swam upward with all their might, bursting from the waves and into the air with the monster in hot pursuit.

L'Arc reared his scythe again. "Skybound Wheel Swing!"

The emerging tornado engulfed the beast, giving Aris an opening to attack. He shifted his left arm into Blaster Mode. Blue energy gathered at the end of the cannon, charging up a powerful shot. "Opening fire!" he called as he unleashed a fully charged shot from the cannon.

The burning beam of blue energy hurtled towards the monster as Aris opened fire. Blood exploded from the area of impact, like pyroclastic flow during a volcanic eruption. Filo flew towards one of the climbing nets attached to the ship's mast, using it as a slingshot to launch herself at the monster. She lifted her foot for a kick and called out, "Spiral Strike!"

Filo's attack connected with the underside of the monster's lower jaw, sending its head backwards as if a giant had just hit the creature with an uppercut. Therese lifted her right arm. "Bejeweled Thunderstorm!"

Bluish lightning shot from her Starfire bracelet, being absorbed into the blade of L'Arc's scythe. Understanding, Loretta sent out her Luxray. "Use Thunderbolt on L'Arc's scythe!"

Nodding, Luxray roared as a single bolt of powerful lightning erupted from her body and charged up L'Arc's weapon even further.

Readying his scythe once more, L'Arc called out, "Combo skill: Thunderbolt Wheel Swing!"

The redhead swung his scythe with all his might, and a lightning-imbued tornado appeared to engulf the massive sea monster. Electricity poured into the entrapped beast's body, taking its life. The monster fell into the water, a massive splash wave rocking the remaining ships. The behemoth moved no more.

Filo jumped from the lead ship and landed on the fallen beast's back. Aris swam over, still wearing his Zora Armor, and climbed up. The two of them went to speak with L'Arc, who stood proud atop the body of the beast. "Nicely done," Aris commended. "Thanks for helping us out."

L'Arc shrugged. "I'm sure you could've done it. But, hey, I never turn down a challenge."

A new voice chimed in. "Hey, Aris!" It was Motoyasu Kitamura. He'd made it to the beast's body, followed by Itsuki Kawasumi and Ren Amaki. "You and your friend did great out there."

Aris sighed. "The three Cardinal Stooges arrive once again to ruin my day. What are you guys doing here?"

"We're here for the drops," said Ren. "Why else would we be here?"

"The items that Wave monsters drop belong to all the Heroes," added Itsuki.

"I'd be on board with that if you clowns actually did anything," Aris deadpanned. "Look, guys. It was L'Arc who killed this thing."

The redhead in question snickered to himself. "Heroes?" he said. "Is that your pathetic excuse for a joke? Because if it is, no one's laughing. You weaklings can't protect anything."

"Huh?" Itsuki was surprised. Ren and Motoyasu glared at the red-haired scythe wielder.

The sound of flapping wings resounded as Loretta hovered in the air nearby on the back of her Corviknight. "Guys, the Queen just told me to let you know that we need to get rid of the remaining monsters."

A blast of wind from L'Arc's scythe sent Motoyasu, Itsuki, and Ren hurtling away, the three Heroes slamming into the beast's side. Therese had arrived and now stood beside her scythe-wielding companion. Aris had held himself in place by driving the Master Sword into the ground and holding on to it. The Hylian steadied himself as he rose and readied the holy blade. "What in the name of Hylia do you think you're doing?!" he exclaimed at L'Arc.

"You know, I just realized," said L'Arc, dodging Aris's query. "The people I talked to told me that the Shield Hero does actually have a sword, as well as a prosthetic left arm. I guess you really are him, aren't you, Aris?"

"What the hell are you talking about?" Aris yelled.

L'Arc's scythe blade shined. "It's simple," he replied. "For the sake of our world...you have to die."
