Volume 2, Chapter 12
Breach
Jaune Arc is sleeping during the night inside Team JNPR's dorm room.
"Waffles..." He mumbles while dreaming.
However, Jaune suddenly wakes up to a call on his Scroll, with the ringtone 'It's a Big Ursa!' playing.
Qrow and Tai snorted at the blonde's ringtone.
"Well, at least he still enjoys being a kid." Kali says with a small smile on her lips.
"They won't be able to enjoy such luxuries later if what Raven said was true." Ghira said, and that shuts the two other males up quickly. Raven gives a frantic glance to Summer who just squeezes her hand in reassurance.
"I know you don't want war to happen." The Silver-Eyed Warrior says to her partner. Raven nods and swallows, keeping her head bowed but she was still able to see the holo-screen through the curtain of her black hair.
Jaune rolls around and fumbles for the Scroll, "Hello?"
Jaune hears noise for six seconds from Ruby's Scroll before the call ends.
Jaune blinks tiredly, "Uh, Ruby?"
"She tried to call for help, not realizing that nothing would get through since she was underground and also in an area that wasn't close to a CCT Tower." Summer frowns, she hoped Ruby and the others were alright.
Later, Team JNPR walks at dawn towards their Bullhead.
Pyrrha smiles, having faith that their friends would be alright. "I'm sure they're fine."
"She's optimistic." Kali said.
"Confident." Qrow counters.
"How can you tell?" The Cat Faunus asks the younger Branwen.
"How she acts towards Team RWBY." Was Qrow's simple reply to the Princess of Menagerie. Kali nodded at the answer, understanding it for what it was.
Jaune turns to his partner. "You think?"
"Probably a butt dial..." Nora said, waving away the concern. Nora knew how strong Ruby and the others were.
"Team RWBY has always performed exceptionally in the field. We should be focusing on our own mission." Ren points out.
Nora grins and jumps in the air. "We're gonna be deputies!"
Jaune frowned, looking toward Mountain Glenn. "I just got this feeling... I don't know."
"Jaune..." Pyrrha starts saying but is cut off.
Suddenly, alarms ring out as they see the city up in smoke.
"Torchwick's attack and the girls!" Tai shouts, gripping the arm of the couch.
Ghira puts a hand on the blonde's shoulder, as well as Summer's, who was about to jump up to rush and help. "Calm yourselves. No matter what the issue with Mountain Glenn is…you will be able to stop it once we all return. You know this, calm yourselves and believe that the children and your friends can win this fight. The outcome might surprise you."
Summer and Tai slowly nod, Ghira's words sinking in. "Yeah…right." The two parents of Ruby Rose glance at each other in worry.
The destruction of Mountain Glenn wouldn't happen, or if it will…they would minimize the damage and death as much as possible. They had to.
"We're changing our mission. Everyone on board!" Jaune commands like a true leader.
As the team heads toward their Bullhead, Jaune does a headcount.
"Ren, we'll make it to that village another time. Take us into the city!" Ren nods at his leader, understanding that protecting Vale was more important.
"Huh, so he can lead." Raven comments lightly, eyebrow raised.
"We saw that in the Emerald Forest when they were in their Initiation." Summer said to her partner and teammate.
Raven doesn't respond.
As the Bullhead takes off, Mercury Black, Cinder Fall, and Emerald Sustrai watch nearby.
Qrow and Raven growl, narrowing their eyes. "Bitch."
"They'll get what's coming to them. Whatever their plans are, we'll make sure it never happens." Qrow promises, dark fury lacing his voice.
Something was wrong with that girl, something unnatural that he didn't understand, but oddly…made him think of the bond that he and his sister share as twins.
Raven glanced at him and shook her head, understanding her own hatred for Cinder either.
"You don't think..." Emerald asks, looking to the other two.
"Sure, looks like it." Mercury says.
"That's still days away!" Emerald says, worried as she looks at Cinder.
Mercury glances at Cinder for direction. "So? What do we do?"
The camera pans to a close-up of Cinder's face before she makes her decision.
Team RWBY is surrounded in the middle of the pavilion by Beowolves, Ursai, and a massive King Taijitu. The King Taijitu unleashes a mighty roar, signaling the Grimm to attack.
Please be alright, Ruby, Yang. Taiyang thought, worry coursing through him as he watches his daughters prepare to fight to defend their Kingdom and home.
Ruby Rose plants Crescent Rose on the ground before kicking away the Grimm, Yang Xiao Long propels herself upwards, performing aerial bombardments with Ember Celica on the Grimm before three Giant Nevermores send her crashing to the ground.
Kali and Ghira wince. Raven frowns but the other can see she's struggling to keep her calm. Qrow wrapped his arm around his sister, offering his silent support and comfort. He too was worried about his niece(s).
It was still surreal for Qrow to think of Ruby as his niece, but she was. Yang and Ruby were sisters, and he wouldn't treat them differently. They were the children of his teammates, of his sister and partner. They were his family, along with Kali, Ghira, and Blake. Maybe even Wiess, since he knows that even though she's a Schnee, the girl isn't all bad.
Blake Belladonna slashes a Beowolf with Gambol Shroud before firing on the other approaching Grimm.
Weiss Schnee slashes three Beowolves, before summoning a glyph to conjure up an ice blade.
Yang, back on the ground, sends several cars flying towards the Grimm. As Ruby finishes slashing at a Grimm, she notices the King Taijitu ready for the attack, until she also sees Nora Valkyrie flying on Magnhild towards the King Taijitu, slamming it on the head and killing the beast.
"Thank the Gods that they are finally here." Summer breaths a sigh of relief.
"I wonder how much damage the city will sustain." Kali winders out loud, but in her mind, and how many deaths will come from Cinder and Torchwick's plan.
"Nora Smash!" The orange haired girl shouted.
"What is she? A large monster?" Tai asks.
(Somewhere, in another universe, completely different than their own…the alter-ego of a scientist huffs and growls at the implication that he's just a brainless monster.)
Jaune Arc, Pyrrha Nikos and Lie Ren soon follow.
"Let's move!" Pyrrha rallies.
As Jaune sighs, the others charge in.
"Smack!" Nora bats a Creep away while Ren strikes two more. He moves on to slash at a Beowolf.
Jaune asks determinately. "Okay, who's first?"
"What will you do, Arc?" Raven whispers softly, wanting to see the boy's combat ability and see if it has improved since Pyrrha started training him.
Jaune turns around to notice a giant Ursa standing behind him. Pyrrha is fighting several Grimm nearby. Impaling a Beowolf, and then a Creep before seeing the Ursa advance on Jaune. Behind him Weiss and Blake are fighting more Grimm.
"Oh-oh-okay, you're first, huh? Okay, no, that's fine. Totally fine, done this before, done this before..."
With a mighty scream, Jaune slashes the Ursa several times before it falls. Pyrrha smiles, as she notices his improvement.
That was…kinda disappointing. But at least he's improved some.
A few feet from the fallen Ursa, Sun Wukong and Neptune Vasilias arrive, flashing their badges.
"Nobody move! Junior detectives!" Sun says, grinning.
Neptune nods, smiling as well. "We have badges, so you know it's official!"
Resounding smacks are heard in the room as Raven, Qrow, and Ghira smack their hands on their foreheads, while Tai is laughing, and the two other women, Kali and Summer shake their heads at the two Haven students' antics.
"Fucking…idiots." Raven hissed.
"Why does Blake like him, again?" Ghira asked, as he looked at his girlfriend.
"They should actually be helping, not…whatever they are doing." Summer says sternly, frowning at the boys. Her team straightens and unconsciously grip their weapons, knowing that this is Summer's leader voice that they needed to obey.
Kali and Ghira blink at the sudden actions of the three Humans and shrug. It's a Huntsman thing, so they wouldn't worry about it now.
A fleet coming from the Atlesian Military, consisting of dropships deploying Atlesian Knight-200 units and the flagship of James Ironwood.
Qrow and Raven's shoulders are touching as they grip their weapons harder, making indentations in their hands.
"Qrow, Raven." Summer's voice was laced with command.
The twins snapped their heads to their leader. The white-cloaked woman smiled warmly at the twins. "We will help you. No matter what, you are my team, and I will lay waste to anyone who threatens you." Summer promised.
The twins let go of their weapons but were still sitting wrapped in each Qrow's arms. Raven didn't feel self-conscious in her brother's arms. She felt safe, for the first time in year she could be herself and didn't need to be Qrow's protector or the unfeeling bitch or the to-be-Chieftain of the Branwen Tribe.
I've got you, Rae. Qrow thinks as he feels Raven relax and tightens his hold on her.
Sun and Neptune react in awe of the fleet as Sun drops his badge to the floor.
As Team RWBY looks up in the sky, an Ursa takes the opportunity to attack Ruby from behind.
"No!" Tai shouts, hand reaching out for his daughter. Summer was the one who pulled him back. He was about to shout at his second wife (and wasn't that still odd to think about) but was stopped by a powerful glare and the unspoken command to: stand down.
So, he did, but it was so hard. He followed his leaders wishes.
She's amazing! Kali thinks in awe. This is what a leader should be. This is what a Queen should strive to be. A powerful commanding presence that was firm but also merciful and understanding.
Kali straightened and copied Summer, while Ghira looked on in wonder and a smile on his face.
However, it is gunned down by a dropship's machine gun. As the robotic Knights deploy, they start gunning down the Grimm. Two of the Knights are stampeded on by a Boarbatusk, but a separate group of three Knights fire on an Ursa and another Ursa has fallen from a Knight's punch.
Cinder nods her head, signaling Mercury and Emerald to attack the Grimm as she walks off.
As an Ursa receives the business end of Talaria, at least half a dozen assorted Grimm stand in front of Emerald. She draws Thief's Respite from their holsters, revealing them to be dual pistols.
The Grimm pack learn this the hard way as she opens fire and all but a single Ursa fall to a barrage of Dust shots while charging at Emerald. Emerald quickly transforms her pistols into kopis blades, flipping and slashing at the rampaging Ursa to kill it.
Summer releases the breath she had been holding through her teeth, a low whistle as she tightens her hand on her own weapon. They are too skilled to not have real-world experience. That means they are even more dangerous than we previously thought.
As more Knights subdue Grimm, out of the opening comes Zwei, followed by Dr. Bartholomew Oobleck in a damaged Atlesian Paladin-290. The dog jumping off to headbutt a Beowolf.
"They're okay!" Tai heaves a huge sigh, smiling in relief that his friend was okay and still alive (as well as his dog).
An airship arrives, dropping off Team CFVY and Professor Peter Port.
"Peter!" The two partners were an incredible duo when fighting together.
"That's Velvet's team! Now we get to see them fight!" Summer exclaimed; she was excited to see what the older team could do.
As Yatsuhashi Daichi is surrounded by a pack of Grimm, he unlimbers Fulcrum before smashing it on the ground, unleashing a shockwave that sends them flying.
Velvet Scarlatina and Fox Alistair respectively kick and punch the Grimm with Fox impaling a Creep.
Nearby a large spiked Ursa roars before charging them. Fox intercepts it with a kick then unleashes a combo of slashes and punches with Sharp Retribution. Knocking the Grimm skyward with an uppercut, as it descends, he delivers a blow to the head with both hands that sends it flying. After landing it swells up and explodes impaling the nearby Grimm with its spikes.
"That's impressive." Ghira comments, intrigued and interested in this team of (clearly older) students.
"They've got to be Second-Years or Third-Years like us. Team CVFY is skilled, and it clearly shows." Summer said.
Coco walks forward swatting a few away with her weapon. Yatsuhashi shields Velvet before the two Second Years start advancing forward.
Coco gives Fox a light pat on the butt. "Nice hustle, Fox. Good job."
Kali was about to question Summer, but it was Qrow who answered her unasked question. "Teams and relationships between teammates vary from team to team. You've already seen that between the interactions of Team RWBY and Team JNPR."
Kali focuses back on the holo-screen.
Fox jumps back as Coco approaches a large Beowolf.
"You just destroyed my favorite clothing store." Coco spits. "Prepare to die."
"Isn't she being a bit dramatic?" Ghira asks.
"All leaders have their eccentrics." Tai said, pointing his thumb toward his own leader.
Coco, after swatting away its right hand, kicks the Beowolf in the crotch. She, as it falls to the ground and looks at her, leans down and slams her bag onto its head. She effortlessly swats away three more Beowolves, then leaps back to avoid a Death Stalker's tail.
Velvet steps forward and moves a hand toward Anesidora about to open the box.
"Damn, she's one hell of a powerhouse." Tai says, whistling in appreciation.
"Hey, come on, you just spent all the semester building that up. Don't waste it here." Coco says to Velvet.
"That has to be her weapon! Oh! I'm so excited to see what it is!" Summer squeals, a large grin on her lips as Qrow is also interested and grinning at the prospect of seeing Velvet's weapon and all its functions.
"Nerds!" Tai and Raven say together. This time the pair don't blush in embarrassment but smile warmly at each other.
Raven and Taiyang were the parents of Yang and would have to get along. Summer and Taiyang were Ruby's parents. And no matter how it happened, Summer and Raven would be in the lives of their daughters.
Qrow and Taiyang would make sure of it.
Coco then transforms Gianduja into a giant minigun, and starts firing, slaughtering the advancing horde of Grimm, including a Death Stalker and three Nevermores.
Port and Oobleck regroup at the opening, nodding their heads. They fire their weapons at the approaching Grimm, while Glynda Goodwitch mops up the remnants and immediately closes the opening using her Semblance.
"That's a terrifying Semblance. I would not want to get on her bad side." Ghira says.
"Agreed." Team STRQ says as one.
Later, everyone meets in the pavilion as Roman Torchwick is escorted by Mercury and Emerald towards an Atlesian airship.
Did they want him to get captured? Summer thought, but…What would be the point of that? She didn't know, but it was worrying.
"Oh, I can't believe that you caught me, you've really taught me the error of my ways." Roman says sarcastically to an Atlesian Knight, who grabs him by the arm. "He-hey, watch the hat!"
Emerald and Mercury then approach Ruby and they smile at each other.
"Get the fuck away from our kids." Tai hissed, angry on the kids' behalf that they were getting conned.
Team JNPR is seen exchanging smiles, Sun and Neptune bump fists, Team CFVY likewise smile at each other, and Port and Oobleck do the same while Glynda watches from behind.
The camera then points towards the orange and pink-coloured sky.
Afterwards, Team RWBY and Zwei are sitting on the edge of Beacon's landing platform, overlooking the City of Vale from across the lake.
Yang smiled. "Well, we did it."
"We did it." Blake repeated Yang's statement with a nod.
"If we don't get extra credit for that, I'm gonna be seriously disappointed." Weiss crosses her arms over her chest.
Raven, Qrow, and Tai bark out a laugh. "Excuse me?" Summer asked incredulously. The three other members shut up. "If not for you all this never would have happened!"
Kali and Ghira grimace but understand where Summer was coming from. If not for Team RWBY interrupting Torchiwck's plans, the attack wouldn't have destroyed the part of the Kingdom, however it would have been worse if they hadn't have gotten involved with a lot more casualties.
"Weiss, a two-headed snake literally crushed a bakery. I wouldn't count on it." Yang told her teammate.
"Plus, I mean, we didn't solve everything. A lot of people were hurt, and we still don't even know why they did this, or who that mystery girl was." Ruby interjected.
"Thank you! At least our girls are thinking about this rationally." Summer exclaimed.
"Well, not every story has a neat and tidy ending." Weiss grumbled.
"We might not have all the answers, but we do have a lot of dangerous people behind bars. And I think that's something we could be proud of." Blake says, giving a small smile to her teammates.
Kali and Ghira are happy to see their daughter finally happy and comfortable with her team.
Ruby grinned, throwing her hands in the air. "Yeah! And if anyone tries something like this again, we'll be there to stop them."
Yang laid down on her back. "Yay, teamwork, camaraderie, good guys, go team, alright, good job... So, what now?"
"That's all Raven!" Tai laughs as the other chuckle but Qrow keeps silent.
No, that's not Raven, it's me. The twins share a glance as Raven sighs. It seemed that even though Ruby took after Qrow in the way of her wardrobe and weapon choice, Yang took all of the Branwen traits from both Raven and Qrow.
So, what can we do to help her? Because if this continues, I worry the Tribe will get word that I have a child and come to take her. Raven bit her lip in concern, both for her unborn daughter and her brother.
She glanced down to her stomach and lightly placed a hand over it. Taiyang glanced at her at that moment and frowned momentarily before snapping his purple eyes to Raven's red ones. Her decision was clear: they would talk about Yang later.
Tai just nodded and gave a pointed stare to Qrow who nodded. He wouldn't let anything happen to either of his nieces, not when it was in his power to do something about it.
"I suggest training for the tournament, but I guess we have that covered at this point." Weiss says.
"So then..." Blake raises a brow toward her leader.
"Uhh... Time for bed?" Ruby says, as it comes off as a question. But she was exhausted and tired for the last few days' events.
"Please." Yang begs her sister.
"Absolutely." The tension in Blake fell away as she finally relaxed.
"Yes." Weiss states.
"I'm going to sleep forever." Yang drags out.
Team RWBY and Zwei then stand up and heads back towards Beacon's main campus.
"We really should sleep after this. The last thing we need to go through is the soundtrack and we can do that tomorrow." Kali said and then yawned. "Or…whatever tomorrow means in this odd dimension."
"I'm down for a break." Tai concedes, getting sleepy as he leans further back into the couch.
Vale's Government Council calls on Ozpin, who responds in his office. The headmaster aloofly stares outside his window.
"Assholes." Qrow stated.
"What's wrong?" Ghira asks.
"We don't like the Council. Bunch of dicks who only care about maintaining their position and don't give two shits about the people." Raven tells the large Faunus.
"Ozpin?" The first Councilman asks, but there is no response. "Ozpin!"
Ozpin turns his chair towards his desk. "Yes, Councilman."
A video feed of the councilmen is shown on a holographic screen with Ironwood's video feed in the corner.
"Why the hell is Ironwood involved in affairs of Vale?" Tai asks, eyes narrowed. The blonde really didn't like this at all. Ironwood was putting his nose into things that aren't his to know.
"He's trying to get Ozpin kicked off the council or get him fired." Summer tells her team and the two Faunus.
"Why, though?" Ghira asks rhetorically.
Qrow answers. "He doesn't trust Ozpin."
"You've left us no choice! The Vytal Festival tournament cannot be broadcast, let alone held, if we are unable to ensure the safety of the citizens." The first Councilman states.
Ozpin sips from his cup.
"Ahem...Therefore, we have reached out to the Atlas Council and together have decided that the best action is to appoint General Ironwood as head of security for the event." He tells Ozpin, not giving the other Headmaster a choice in the matter.
"So now we'll be occupied by another Kingdom?" Summer hisses. Kali and Ghira also don't like what was going on. "That's basically a declaration of war!"
"Thank you, Councilman. Our Kingdom is happy to lend as many troops as it takes to ensure that the event runs smoothly and safely as possible." Ironwood states to the Vale Council.
"I'm sure you will." Tai said furiously. "It will be war between Atlas and Vale because of this! The Vale Huntsmen won't stand for this! Ozpin won't stand for this!"
"And we thank you, General." The Councilman nods.
"Will that be all?" Ozpin asks, his hand tightly gripping his mug.
"For now. But after this festival ends, we are going to have a serious discussion about your position at Beacon Academy. General Ironwood's reports over the last few weeks have left us somewhat... concerned. I am sure you understand." The same Councilman says.
Summer and Taiyang were shaking with rage at the treatment of their Headmaster. Qrow and Raven looked ready to gut Ironwood, and the two Faunus weren't sure they would stop them (or even if they wanted to).
The faceless councilmen's video feed disappears, leaving Ironwood's video feed alone with Ozpin. They silently stare at each other for a moment.
"This is the right move, Ozpin. I promise, I will keep our people safe, you have to trust me." Ironwood hangs up the video call.
"Fuck you, piece of shit!"
Ozpin then turns his chair around to look at the large Atlesian Airship outside his window.
"We will not allow this." Summer hissed; her silver eyes glowing ominously.
The camera cuts to Ironwood, looking towards Beacon and Ozpin's office through a window. "You brought this on yourself."
"You're the one who wants a war." Taiyang said, glaring at the holo-screen.
Ironwood then walks toward a heavily guarded Roman in his holding cell, albeit without his signature hat.
"Leave us." The soldiers leave Ironwood alone, so that he can talk to Roman.
"I've been informed that so far, you've refused to co-operate with the authorities." Ironwood comments.
"I know this might be hard to believe, General, but uh... I'm not the biggest fan of local law enforcement." Roman says with a smirk.
Same, Torchwick. Qrow thought, remembering all of the raids that he and Raven had been a part of (even though he was just a scavenger to the rest of the Tribe).
Ironwood raises an eyebrow. "How about the world's strongest military power?"
Roman thinks on it. "Hmm... first impressions... not great."
"I'm going to give you one chance. Who's really behind all this?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Roman questions and Ironwood leans in closer toward him to hear his answer. "You're looking at him."
"What do they gain from attacking Vale so close to the Vytal Festival?" Kali asks the team.
"I think they wanted the attack to happen during the Festival so that the Huntsmen would be too busy with the Festival to help. Cause a panic." Taiyang tells her.
Ironwood frowns, "Hm... Very well then."
Ironwood starts walking away.
Roman leans forward. "What's the matter, General? I thought you wanted to talk."
Ironwood doesn't take the bait. "The council's given me custody over you for as long as I see fit. So, you can make yourself comfortable. I can be sure that you'll have plenty of time to talk."
"Because you're hell-bent on doing things your way and will bring war on our Kingdom!" Summer shouts in anger.
"Oh, wonderful. Hehehe..." The camera pans towards Roman's face as he laughs. His holding cell door closes.
Cinder, Mercury, and Emerald meet discreetly at a rooftop.
"All in all, I call today a success." Cinder tells her two followers.
"You-! This is a success to you?!" Ghira roared in anger.
"Ghira!" Kali yelled, trying to calm her boyfriend down.
"They want death and destruction! They want war!" Ghira ranted, claws sharpening in his rage.
Kali didn't know what to do to help the other Faunus so all she did (all she could do) was lay a hand on his back, hoping to show her support silently.
"Those stupid kids really made a mess of things." Emerald said.
"Yeah. A lot of Faunus didn't make it out the tunnels. You still think the White Fang's gonna listen to us?" Mercury asks, before someone interrupts.
"No, but they'll listen to me." The camera pans to Adam Taurus. The camera cuts to black as the end credits roll.
The two Faunus tense. "We will restore the White Fang; it won't be what it is in the future." Kali says as calmly as she can manage. "That's why we're here. To change things."
"I think we all really need that break." Summer said quickly, standing up and grabbing the remote.
"Wait, there's something else." Tai pointed out, after the end-credits were finished music started playing.
"Okay, so we aren't quite done yet." Summer muttered, before sitting back down.
They all listened to the song.
Caffeine
Listen up, strap in, notify your next of kin,
You're about to take a ride a little on the blazing side,
Guzzle down your Red Bull, you're gonna need a bucket full,
You're watching me accelerate and tear apart the interstate.
"This is definitely that older team's song." Ghira said, chuckling.
"I wouldn't mind sparring with them." Tai said, smirking.
"Tai you realize that they are in diapers right now." Qrow told his partner.
Tai shrugged, "Still, when they get to Beacon, I wouldn't mind sparring with them."
"Brute." Raven shook her head fondly.
"Oi! You love me! Yang is proof of that." Tai said, pouting.
"Shut up you big baby." Summer shoved him away from her partner as the twins rolled their eyes at Tai's antics.
A certified monster I'm an absolute trip,
Like Otis Redding, hard to handle so you better get a grip,
A super-fast, superfly, bonafide wise guy.
Call the morgue and say goodbye, write your will; it's time to die.
"I like this song." Qrow smirked.
"You like almost all rock-type songs, Qrow." Tai said.
"Oh? And why is that Qrow?" Kali asked, a smile on her face.
Qrow's cheeks tinted pink as he cleared his throat by coughing.
"Yes, dear brother. Do tell." Raven smirked slyly at her twin brother.
"When he first found out we would be rooming together, he stole my Scroll and started playing with my music. There are a few rock bands that I like, so I let Qrow download the songs he liked from my Scroll." Tai explained to the two Faunus.
"I like to lose myself sometimes and the music helps me when I need a distraction." Qrow shrugged.
Caffeine. I'm caffeine.
Caffeine. I'm caffeine.
I'm a bad dream.
I'm a rad scene.
I'm a tad mean.
But I'm not afraid to take you out.
"Why can I see a duet between Raven and Qrow right here?" Tai asked, grinning at the siblings. The Branwen twins threw the couch pillows at Tai as he grunted as the fluffy pillows hit him square in his face.
Summer and Kali laughed, while Ghira chuckled, his arms around Kali as he smiled at Team STRQ. "You deserve that, Taiyang."
"Traitor!" Tai yelled in mock anger.
The twins started laughing at their teammate's expense.
"Okay, okay. Come on, let's finish, we're almost done." Ghira got them back on track.

"Wow, whoever made this song really went all-out with the coffee references." Tai said.
Summer was bouncing up and down on the couch. "Can-"
"No!" Tai, Raven, and Qrow shouted at the same time.
"Aw…why not?" Summer pouted, her silver eyes looking glassy and teary-eyed.
"Oh no you don't, Summer Rose. You are not going to get any coffee! Remember what happened last time?" Raven asked her partner, who just tilted her head to the side.
"Uh…no?"
"Of course, you don't! You were unconscious by the middle of the day because you were so hopped up on coffee that you crashed in Ozpin's fucking office!" Raven shouted.
Summer blushed and averted her eyes. Kali and Ghira started cracking up with laughter when they imaged Summer hopped up on so much coffee that she crashed in the Headmaster's office.

"Oh, please. We really need to hear the full story!" Kali said, still laughing.
"No, please." Summer covered her face in her hands.
"It was last year-" Qrow started before Summer's hand slammed onto his mouth.
"Nope! You aren't telling that story, Qrow!"
"Alright, let's take that much-needed break, yes?" Kali said, looking at the others and seeing their exhaustion.
"Yeah…that's a good idea." Summer nodded and yawned, Tai went up to her and put an arm around her shoulders before going to grab a small snack to eat before they talked with Raven Qrow.
Qrow and Raven just stumble away to the room they shared in silence, needing to think and talk about all that happened and what they learned.
Kali and Ghira also went their sperate ways for the time being as well, needing space.
I cut out the end-credit scene since I didn't know that it wasn't cannon.
However, to those asking how long this will be and if there will be a sequel…this will go up to Volume 3 since it's the most impactful volume and one I feel confidant and comfortable ending this reaction story at. Also, I do want to do a sequel for this when Team STRQ, Kali and Ghira do change their futures. However, the story is only in its bare planning stages right now.
Another thing: I have multiple stories I'm writing, and I currently want to finish New Dawn after the Void: Book 1 – The Bloody Sea, as well as get further into Will of the Sea as well before I start the sequel for STRQ Future.
