(Hello readers! Let me take the time to thank you one more time for loyally following and reading this fanfic. I had so much fun writing it and trying to shape the original characters I came up with and I am also relieved that none of you seemed to hate what I did with them in regards to the Kelvin Star Trek Trilogy. I'm a little sad that this is it for this story and that there will probably be no more Katarina and Spock unless I decide to write that prequel story I considered for some time, but again it's been a great ride. I hope you like this little epilogue I wrote as one last present for my readers of this story. It probably wasn't necessary, but I wanted to write about Katarina for you guys one more time. Hope you'll enjoy! I own nothing but my OCs.)

Epilogue

Five years later

"Mom!...Mom! Can we go out to wait for Uncle Jim and Aunt Carol now? Please? It's almost dark." Kat looked up from her PADD, heaving a slight sigh as she turned to look at the clock before meeting her seven year old son's eager dark eyes.

"Did you finish your homework, Grey? Your meditation exercises?" Greysam nodded his head, jumping up a bit for emphasis. "Yes. All of it. So can we go? Pleeease Mama?"

"Greysam, you know you're not to disturb your Mother until her work is done. Besides you will wake your sister." Spock stepped up behind the boy, his slightly stern expression unflinching when Grey turned to shoot him with a pleading look.

"But Daaad...!"

"It's all right, Spock. I'm almost finished with this report. Besides, Grey is right. Jim and Carol are due to arrive any minute. Also I could do with a little fresh air." With a tired smile, Kat reached to switch off her PADD, tucking a few loose strands of her hair behind her ear before standing out of her chair.

Spock furrowed his brow slightly in concern. "Are you certain...?" His inquiry died on his lips as the sound of an infant's cry rang through the house.

A wry smile tugged up at the corner of Kat's mouth. "I'll go get the baby." She leaned up to place a quick chaste kiss to her husband's cheek, lightly ruffling up Grey's hair before slipping past him to get to the nursery.

...

"They are late." Spock frowned, gazing searchingly through the darkening skies until he felt another little tug at his hand.

Kat sighed and adjusted the blanket over the gurgling baby she held in her lap. "I'm sure they'll be here soon. Both he and Carol have been really wanting to meet Miri after all." She looked over at where their son was pacing impatiently in front of them while the baby played with Spock's fingers.

Pressing his lips together, Spock nodded and looked over at his gurgling baby daughter. "It is still remarkable to me how healthily she grows." Kat nodded in agreement.

"I know. I'm still amazed by her. Nearly four months old and not one trip to the hospital with a dangerous fever." Smiling she used a corner of the blanket to wipe away a spot of dribble.

"Mom? Why isn't Uncle Jim here yet? He said he'd tell me more about what happened in the Omicron system!" Dejected, Greysam dragged his feet back to where his parents sat, holding up the little figurine his Father had helped him build a couple weeks ago with a frown.

Kat sighed. "Don't worry, Grey. He'll be here soon. You know your Uncle wouldn't dare let you down of all people." She smirked just as the sounds of a familiar ship's engine started to rumble across the sky.

"Ahh!" The baby started to whimper and squirm in Kat's arms as the noises got louder. Grey quickly gave her a gently pat through the blanket.

"It's okay Miri! Look!...Uncle Jim and Aunt Carol are here now! You'll love them! Especially Uncle Jim!" Grey grinned at his sister before turning and making a run for the landing pad.

Kat and Spock exchanged glances.

"Greysam! Not so close!" Spock was quick to call after him and Kat shook her head as she carefully came to a standing position next to her husband, soothing the baby.

"You know, I'm not sure any amount of Vulcan Education will be enough to "temper" him." She murmured near Spock's ear, making quick air quotations with one hand as she thought of the last meeting she and Spock had attended with one of Greysam's Vulcan instructors.

Spock let out a soft snort. "I never believed he could be tempered. It was illogical of the Elders to assume that a Kirk could ever be expected to control their emotions in any capacity even remotely similiar to a Vulcan." He folded his arms behind his back.

"However, I'd like for him to complete the primary levels at the very least. A little learned self control will be nothing if beneficial to him."

Kat shot him a half-amused look. "I'm not sure if that was supposed to be a dig at my family line or not, but either way you're lucky I'm holding our baby right now." She retorted playfully, carefully adjusting her arms around her still gurgling daughter.

Raising an eyebrow, Spock turned his head in her direction. "I would never disparage your family, Ashayam. After all, I am a part of your family." A slight smile curled the side of his mouth and Kat smiled back just as the breeze from the landing ship nearly blew them backwards.

"Uncle Jim! Uncle Jim!" Grey began to dash up the ramp, not even waiting for it completely touch down on the ground.

Almost as if on cue, Jim appeared at the top of the ramp smiling broadly as he bent to greet his nephew. "Hey Bud! How have you been? Are you getting taller?"

He put his hand on the boy's head to get a quick rough measurement of his height with a furrow of his brows. Grey quickly shook his hand off.

"Was there really a knight on horseback and a white rabbit on Omicron, Uncle Jim? What about the brainwashing spores? Were they really real? Have you gone to any other cool planets since the Omnicron?" The boy began to shoot off questions as if he were a human phaser.

Jim chuckled at his enthusiasm. "Slow down, Kiddo. I'll fill you in on all the juicy details later. Don't worry. But first..." He trailed off and looked up, grinning at his sister and brother in law before his eyes fell briefly on the little bundle of blankets his sister cradled close to her body.

"Awww...Wow, I thought it was just the viewscreen, but you're looking a little weathered there, Sis. Motherhood and a long distance Starfleet Commission not a good mix for you?" Jim smirked, earning a sharp look from Carol as she walked up behind him.

Kat arched an eyebrow at them. "And here I thought being married for two years had smoothed you over." She shook her head. Carol let out a soft scoff.

"No, he's still a troublemaker. He just gets in trouble for it regularly now." She crossed her arms and narrowed her eyes at her husband.

Spock gazed questioningly at Kat.

"Shall I take the baby for a moment?" He suggested calmly.

Kat shook her head. "No, I promised Carol she'd get to hold her first as soon as they landed." She used a corner of the blanket to wipe up some drool from her little girl's chin before holding her out to her sister-in-law.

Carol held up a hand. "First..." Turning, she flicked Jim behind his ear.

"Oww!" Jim whined pointedly, giving his wife a pained look as she reached eagerly to take their new baby niece in her arms.

"Ohh, she's beautiful. What did you say her name was again?" Carol looked back up at Kat and Spock.

The two exchanged smiles. "Mireya. Well her earth name is Mireya and Spock chose T'hala as her Vulcan name." Kat responded.

"Mireya? Where did you guys come up with that?" Jim asked, furrowing his brow slightly as he leaned over to get a better look at the baby while Greysam tugged at the sleeve of his uniform.

Kat shrugged. "It means miracle. It seemed fitting considering she came after we had ultimately decided not to risk another high-risk pregnancy and also other than the 19 awful hours it took to deliver her, there have been little to no complications." She smiled and gazed adoringly at her baby daughter who was staring up at her aunt with the edge of her blanket stuffed into her tiny mouth.

Carol froze, the blood draining from her face as she looked up from her niece at her sister-in-law's words. Jim looked equally as shocked as her. "19 hours?"

Spock nodded. "It was quite an ordeal." Gently he slid an arm around Kat's waist before continuing. "Mireya's good health and safe addition to our family was and is nothing short of a miracle." He said looking over at his daughter with a look that was akin to pride and happiness.

Jim let out a snort. "And here I heard you don't believe in miracles." He half kidded. Spock side eyed him.

"Uncle Jim! Will you tell me about your adventures now? Pleeease?" Grey begged, tugging at his Uncle's sleeve and missing the mildly warning look his Father gave him.

Jim just laughed harder and ruffled the boy's hair. "I sure will. Right after we have some lunch. I'm starving." He looked over at Kat and she lightly rolled her eyes.

"There's some stew on at the house. Why don't we head over so you guys can get settled? Miri's going to start getting hungry soon too and I'm sure Greysam's eager to show you some things he's been dying to share." She nodded at her son with a wry smile and he bounced eagerly at her words.

"Come on, Uncle Jim! Come on, Aunt Carol!" Grey tried again to drag his Uncle away. This time Jim allowed himself to be pulled a few steps forward before gently wresting his hand from the boy's grip.

"Run on ahead, Kiddo! I'll catch up. I want to talk to your Mom about something first." He smiled reassuringly at his nephew who looked momentarily disappointed before Carol drew him away, offering him her free hand.

With a shake of his head, Jim turned to glance at Kat as she fell into step next to him, grabbing Mireya's baby bag while Spock moved to lead Carol and Greysam to an air cab.

"So...it seems the return of Spock and Katarina to the Enterprise may be delayed by a few more years than planned." Jim smirked and Kat shrugged dismissively.

"I'm perfectly happy with the work I am doing now as an Advisor for diplomatic missions. Besides, it seems Uhura is more than excelling in my old post." She joked, looking ahead to where her family was moving ahead. Jim nodded his head.

"Spock has been looking into taking a command position again in Starfleet though. In a few years of course once Mireya is old enough to start school." Jim grinned at that.

"By then Grey might be ready to join up at the academy." Kat turned and shot him a look. "He's already eager for it. He tells us every day that some day he's going to be a brave Starfleet Officer just like you and his Dad...and his Grandpa."

Jim's smile widened at that. "I'm sure he will be. He is partially a Kirk after all." Kat chuckled. "Well maybe I can get Mireya interested in Xeno-linguistics and Intergalactic relations someday." She joked.

Jim joined in on her laughter. "Maybe." He took a quick look around himself and sighed as he took in the hazy early afternoon New Vulcan sunlight.

"So, are you guys considering starting a family of your own one of these days? It seems Carol's taking to the baby pretty well." Kat nodded over at where her Sister in Law sat with Grey in the backseat of the air cab, beaming and rocking Miri while Grey leaned impatiently out the side of the cab.

Jim chuckled. "Yeah the topic came up a few times. I'm not sure if our lifestyle really lends itself to raising kids though. I mean...I know it worked for awhile when Grey was little, but I keep thinking about when he came with us to the Nebulus and..."

Kat quickly put a comforting hand on her brother's arm as they got closer to the air cab. "I get it. Every time Grey wakes up with a nightmare I always wonder if it had to do with what he went through back then even though he was little then. It's not something I would want put upon another child either." She said seriously.

Jim smiled gratefully back at her. "Yeah, but I'd like to have kids though. Someday." His gaze fell back on his wife and Kat grinned seeing the way his smile widened at the sight of Carol trying to soothe the increasingly fussy baby in her arms.

"Mom! Miri's crying!" Greysam called from the cab just as Mireya let out a loud wail. Sighing, Kat went to rescue Carol from her new predicament.

"I got her. Grey, can you get her bottle from the bag for me please?" She asked calmly while scooping her daughter into her own arms and settling into the cab between Carol and Greysam.

Jim sighed and went to sit with Spock up front as Grey began to rummage around in the baby bag.

"I got to say, it's real great being with you guys again. I really missed the whole family dynamic thing. As great as the rest of the crew is, it's really not the same without you guys around." He commented as Miri's cries continued to punctuate the air.

Spock eyed him briefly before starting the vehicle. "I too must agree. I as well miss being a part of the crew, though I would not give up where I am currently placed for even the best commission Starfleet could offer." He carefully checked his surroundings.

Jim nodded in agreement. "I can get behind that."

Spock glanced over at him. "Katarina and I as well as Greysam have been looking forward to this reunion for some time now, Jim. I hope you'll find the New Vulcan climate and atmosphere to your liking." He began to turn the cab towards home.

Jim nodded, his smile growing as he looked around himself as people wandered about, some rushing and others casually moving in various directions. Then his gaze fell back on his family sitting behind him.

"I think I'll like it just fine."
