This is the 34th chapter. Anyway, this part is where Himegami's dark past revealed and what 'Ouken' really is which we all know that there's a dark side of the story. I don't own the series of Maken-Ki.
Kamigari HQ
Team Venus and Gen have finally arrived at Kamigari HQ since they began to conduct an investigation about 'Ouken' and his true motives. Akaya knew that 'Ouken' have made his move since he warned Minori, but it was already too late for that. However, that didn't stop Venus to know about Kamigari.
"Right in the middle of Kamigari's Headquarters. Ouken said it himself. So it's most likely accurate." Akaya said, investigating.
"I know this already!" Gen said with annoyance.
"Before coming here, I even discussed this with someone who knew about it within the night exclusives. Though it's unlikely he'll do anything, the real trouble is his motives." Akaya explains as he then look at the pot that was sealed inside. "This pot, if you don't have the special element, you won't be able to crack the seal that's been applied. If someone without that element attempted to crack it."
Akaya then taps his finger on that pot which it gave off the intense dark aura, causing him to pull his finger quickly without getting himself hurt as the smoke disperse.
"This smoke, others have tried to no success." Demitra pointed out. "Since none of them possessed the Black Element."
"Looks like this is where I come in." Gen said with a smirk, taking his jacket off.
"Hey, what's a Black Element?" The Finnian twins asks in unison, leaving Yan shocked.
"You didn't know!? You're SS-class Maken users and yet..." Yan said with annoyance, sighed as she explains. "Elements have special traits expressed using different colors. Out of all the colors the Black Element is said to combine all of the special traits into one. Worldwide there are only about five people who possesses such a rare power."
"Yan is knowledgeable." The Finnian twins said in unison, much to her annoyance.
"Well, one of five people is actually here." Akaya stated with a smirk, looking at Gen. "He can replicate any traits. He's the Maken Blacksmith."
"You finished explaining?" Gen rhetorically asks, readied his element. "Now Open!"
Gen then used his Black Element to open the seal, causing it to crack open as the pot began to reveal itself. When the pot then opens, Akaya and his team looked at it with shock when they found the truth about 'Ouken'.
"So what's up, did it work?" Gen asks curiously when he put his jacket back on.
"This is more than I thought, but this is troubling." Akaya said with a small smile, drop a sweat. "If this is the truth, I don't think his opponent will be able to touch him. Oukan Yamato is..."
Okino Island
Meanwhile at the island, the wind blows since the atmosphere was starting to grew more intense. 'Ouken' revealed that Himegami isn't exactly human which Zane was aware of her and her power, but Takeru was confused about it as he spoke.
"What are you talking about? It's just stupid." Takeru said with confusion.
"Of course. Can't you say anything?" 'Ouken' questions with a smirk.
"You're saying the same kinda thing as Kengo was, but 'I don't think Himegami's beauty is human. She's a goddess.' He did say something like that." Takeru said with a ponder, causing Zane to sigh with annoyance and Himegami look away.
At the bungalow, Kengo then sneezed since someone was talking about him as he then wakes up. He then place his hand on his head since he was sweating when he was dreaming something bad.
'It was that frightening dream. It's almost been a year since I've continued to have the dream where everyone forgot about me.' Kengo mentally thought with fright, but noticed a sound as he turned to Mori.
"Mori? What happen to your owner?" Kengo questions. "Everyone in Maken-Ki too..."
Suddenly, he saw a strong element that was coming from the forest which it got him shocked.
"Hey, hey! What's with that huge element! What the hell is going on!?" Kengo shouts with panic.
Back at the forest, Himegami used her lightning element to fire at 'Ouken' which he dodged her attack, but Zane then charge after him with his gunblade.
"Solid Barrel" Zane used his slash combo, given him an upward stab, and fires four times, sent 'Ouken' flying at the tree.
'Ouken' coughed a bit of his blood while stood up since he felt the side-effect of Anti-Element.
"How about you cut the crap and tell us what do mean that Himegami isn't human!?" Zane growled with a snarl, not in a mood for his game.
"The one who has all the answers is Kodama Himegami." 'Ouken' told him as he then turned to her. "Go and tell them like a good girl Kodama, or maybe you don't have any recollection of that time long ago."
"There's no way I have forgotten." Himegami retorts. "It's not something I can forget so easily."
Centuries Ago in the Kofun Period
It happened a very, very, very long ago in Japan at the village where the Emperor was ruling, he summoned his retainers since he's growing to lose patients as to where his son had gone.
"Oousu! Do you know where Oousu is!?" The Emperor questions with a shout.
He's a middle-aged man with long black hair reached down to his shoulder, mustache, goatee, and yellow eyes. He wore his white yukata, black sash, white hakama, and black zori.
"We saw him near the river earlier, but even when we approached him." One of the retainers told the emperor.
"Good grief. My stupid son had to run away again." The Emperor said with a sigh, rubbing his head to prevent a migraine. "You can bring him back by force! Just get him back here!"
"Yes your majesty, but it's hard to capture Oousu no Mikato, even with the hundred soldiers." The retainer told him, but his head was sliced from behind.
"Only those who are incompetent give up before trying and if you can't do that, you can vanish." The swordsman said, sheathing his sword which it cause the retainers to fall off, resulting him dead. "He was useless to Yamato."
He's a young man with a short white hair and red eyes. He wore his white yukata with his shirt underneath, black sash, white hakama, magatama necklace, and black zori. He carries his katana around his waist.
"Kousou! You fool." The Emperor yelled. "How many of my retainers do you have to kill until you're satisfied!?"
"Father, I don't remember menial things like the amount of 'garbage' I've thrown into a heap." Kousou retorts calmly. "I alone am enough to be able to do that garbage's job. Those in the south are causing a scene, please leave those savages to me. I shall show you their complete destruction. Ah, first I should summon my useless brother."
The Emperor was about to protest his son, but couldn't argue about his abilities or his bloodlust as he then sighed with defeat.
"Do what you like." The Emperor said to him, earned a nod as he then leaves to get his brother. "You guys, should hold a memorial service for him."
"Your majesty." The female retainer said.
"I already know that I can no longer stop my son." The Emperor stated as he explains. "Kousou was blessed by heaven, he's someone with power equal to that of a God. Only someone blessed with an equal power is able to stop him. Only that guy."
While at the village, the young man was chasing a woman near the river.
He's a young man that has red hair and yellow eyes, but he wore the same attire like his brother and his father while the young woman has a long black hair with a ribbon that styled into a ponytail. She wore a white kimono with black zori and black sash.
"Tachibana." He said with his perverted grin, laughing.
"No don't, Prince Oousu." Tachibana said with a smile, giggles as she then hid herself at the wooden fence.
"That river is rough so it's dangerous." Oousu warned her with worry.
"Prince Oousu, soon you'll become the one to rule this place." Tachibana told him. "You shouldn't tease a maid like me..."
"I..." Oousu said, placing his hand on the wooden fence while looking at her with a smile. "Before I think about ruling, I want to engrave my love for the beautiful flower known as Tachibana in my heart."
That got Tachibana blushed when her heart skip a beat as the two were about to kiss other. However, Kousou draws his sword as he then slice the wooden fence without even breaking it, causing the two to look at him with fright.
"I found you, older brother." Kousou said formally with a smirk.
"Kousou! Are you trying to kill me!?" Oousu screamed with panic.
"I was searching for my brother's presence. Besides, I didn't hit you with my sword." Kousou told him with a chuckle as he then look at Tachibana with killing intent. "Although, I did intend to hit someone, someone of humble birth."
"Kousou!?" Oousu exclaimed.
"Were you expecting to be allowed to trick my brother?" Kousou questions her, ignored his brother. "The likes of someone with dirty blood like you wanting to mix with us royalty is a sin of worthy death. Let me dispose of you here."
When Kousou was about to kill Tachibana with his sword, Oousu manage to save her by grabbing her and getting slashed instead, much to his brother's dismay and Tachibana reacts with horror as he then collapse down to the ground.
"P-Prince Oousu!" Tachibana screamed with teary eyes.
"Gu-...R-Run!" Oousu warned her, coughed his blood.
"I-I won't! Not until Prince Oousu and I-"
"Just Run!" Oousu warned her again. "I beg you."
Tachibana just couldn't leave him in his state since he promised her to be married, but she reluctantly leaves him as he then stood up looking at his brother.
"I don't understand. My power 'Soul Game' was given to me by the Gods." Kousou told him, showing his Black Element. "With it, the only one who can match me is brother's 'Soul Convergence'. Together, we could even dominate continents on the other side of the sea. We were chosen to become divine existences were we not? Yet, you ignore reality with people like that maid girl."
"I don't get you. Women are important flowers that will bring hope for the future." Oousu stated with a smirk. "They are something to love, not to hurt. Someone like you who doesn't understand such a simple fact if thousand years too early to dominate the other continents."
Kousou was greatly disappointed at his brother since it come to a breaking point that Oousu won't accept his goal. Oousu and Kousou only have two different goals: Kousou wanted to rule the world with domination and kill anyone who gets in his way. Oousu wanted to rule his kingdom out of respect and love for the people. However, Kousou can only see his brother as 'garbage' when he then began to use his sword and spoke.
"I was wondering if I would be able to use your power, but if you're this far gone, then it can't be helped." Kousou said with his dark tone. "Your existence will interfere my plan. Using this opportunity to clear up trash isn't too bad."
With that, Kousou then slashed his brother without remorse, causing Oousu to splash down toward the river and swept away with the strong current. Kousou then walks away as he then turned his head one last time with a smirk on his face.
"A thousand years too early, huh?" Kousou said. "Then watch me from the depths of hell, brother. Soon everyone, even Gods will be kneeling in front of me."
Later that night, the crows have landed on the branches to look for food when they've noticed Oousu have manage to make it towards the land which he's on the brink of death.
"Kousou...He completely sliced me without hesitation." Oousu said, coughed a bit of his blood while tried to heal himself as he then placed his hand right next to the crow. "Did you come to pick at my dying flesh? On the other hand, I'm going to take a bit of your soul's power."
Oousu then use his ability to take the soul from the crow, used it to heal his wound, but it was too deep and fatal since it's not enough to help.
'Although, it will not be enough even with 'this power' I'm not able to successfully recover. What a boring way to die. At least Tachibana...was able to survive.' Oousu mentally thought, felt relieved that Tachibana have manage to get away, but noticed a powerful aura that was coming to him. 'An illusion...of an angel? Has death finally come for me? At least in the end, I was able to see a beautiful woman as my salvation.'
"Hm, this person's body is holding an interesting ability. The power of her soul is flowing into my body." The blonde woman said with a smile.
She is a beautiful busty young woman with long blonde hair and green eyes. She wore a magatama around her neck and her white robe.
'She's not an illusion.' Oousu mentally thought as he spoke. "Who are you?"
"My name?" She said, placing her hand on her lip. "That's right, I have several names but the most common one used is, Yamato no Orochi. There are many who call me by this name."
Few minutes later, Yamato no Orochi then take Oousu to her home to tend his wound which he used his ability to absorb her soul to his. He began to heal up, but screamed with agony since Yamato bandaged him in every step of the way.
"Oh don't be a baby!" Yamato told him.
"You...You could be a little gentler you know..." Oousu grunts in pain with teary eyes.
"Just be grateful that I saved your sorry ass." Yamato told him, placing the urn at the top of the shelf.
"I really do appreciate that. If you hadn't...shared some of the power of your soul with me, I would have bit it back there." Oousu said with a chuckle, but noticed some weapons that were placed on a stand as he spoke. "A sword and...a bow? What a rare form of weapons."
"What...you mean you don't know?" Yamato asks with a deadpan expression, walking towards the sword while hold it with a smile. "These are vessels that appear when God is born, they're Maken. They're the sacred treasures that hold the powers of God. They're valuable, you know."
"You handle them pretty carelessly though." Oousu pointed out when he saw her tossing the sword.
"Because I have been reincarnated seven times I have been endowed with eight Maken." Yamato told him, summons Nozuchi. "Incidentally, as an additional bonus, I can summon my previous lives as Shikigami."
"So that's why you're the 'Eight Headed Snake', but to call vessels born by a God 'Maken'." Oousu said with shock, but noticed that Yamato was leaning against the table.
"It depends on how you handle it." Yamato told him. "But any sword that can contain a demon or kill a demon can be called a Maken."
"I...I get it!" Oousu said with his perverted expression when he saw her butt. "I...I really want to see you use it!"
It didn't take long for her to figure what he's up to as she then use her bow to fire at him.
"Well kinda like this when you're purifying a demon." Yamato stated which she meant a peeping tom like Oousu.
"No mercy for the injured huh." Oousu said, turned to her with his thumb up. "But this a man's nature...forgive me..."
"Lusting after a God...You've got some-"
"Hm? What are you talking about?" Oousu interrupts with a question, earned her attention. "Being a God or a human has nothing to do with it. Woman should be admired and beautiful women all more."
That got Yamato stunned of Oousu's words as she spoke.
"Fool, are you really trying to seduce a God?" Yamato asks with a smirk.
"Yeah! You catch on quick." Oousu admits with a smile, having no shame when they heard a voice from the outside.
"Lord Orochi!" One of the villagers called her as she opens the door when she noticed the villagers offered some food to her. "We have brought you a humble offering, please be appeased."
"Thanks as always." Yamato thanked them, using her powers to levitate the food. "We were just about to eat...So how about it? Would you join us..."
"We...We wouldn't dream of it!" One of the villagers declines as they began to leave. "After we already had you grant us rain...That is too great of an honor for us. We will come again, so allow us take our leave."
When Yamato no Orochi have returned inside of her home, she began to use her power to cook the food.
"Villagers huh? They adore you don't they-"
"You're wrong, they fear me as one who bears a power that they cannot comprehend." Yamato interrupts with her serious expression. "Although the way I see it, with the exception of power and lifespan, we're not really different at all. I'm even able to have relationships with humans."
That got Oousu burst out with laughter which he thought it was funny as Yamato spoke.
"What's so funny?" Yamato questions, raising her eyebrow.
"No, no...That's not very different from what I was thinking earlier." Oousu said, causing Yamato to blush. "Alright! I've decided! I'll stay here and seduce myself a God."
"What a strange one you are." Yamato said with a blush. "Do as you like."
"But for a God to have a name like 'snake' is a little-"
"We shikigami taking to calling her 'Yatsuno Himegami'." Nozuchi interrupts, told him which it got Yatsuno glaring at her.
"Oh! That's a good name!" Oousu said with a smile.
20 years later, both Yatsuno and Oousu have two children which happens to be a girl and a boy when they the children were heading towards the village to get some herbs for their mother, but the boy had some other plans when he was chasing the girls since the girls didn't like it at all.
"Don't be embarrassed ladies." He told the two girls with his perverted smile.
"We're not embarrassed! We just don't like it!" The girls told him with embarrassed blush.
Until, the girl just tripped him, causing him to land on the ground with a hard thud.
"Wha...What in the?" He winced with pain, rubbing his forehead.
"That's what I'd like to know, what are you doing, brother!" The girl said with a glare, holding the basket of herbs.
"Ko...Kodama...N...No...There were these well-endowed women so, I thought I'd ask one of them to marry me..." The boy said with fright, tried to come up with an excuse, but Kodama wasn't buying and she's angry. "...Koda...ma?"
"ARE YOU TRYING TO INSINUATE SOMETHING AGAINST ME!?" Kodama yelled as she then punched her brother.
When the Himegami siblings came home, their father turned his head to his children and spoke.
"Oh! You're home. To go out together, you get along pretty well...huh?" Oousu said with a smile, but noticed his son got hurt only because of his daughter. "W-Well, if you can say he's getting into fights."
"Father, there's just no helping it." Kodama told him with embarrassed blush. "Even though we went to the village in order to get medicine. He just started skirt chasing-"
"Those girls seemed like they'd be great for childbearing." The boy said with a smile.
"Next time be sure to bring one home with you Yabiko." Oousu told him.
"Father! Stop Encouraging Him!" Kodama yelled her father, but about to ask him. "More importantly, how is-"
"If you're wondering about your mother, she just woke up." Oousu told her which he knows what she asks. "She was worried about you two."
With that, both Kodama and Yabiko rushed towards the house to see their mother.
"We're back!" Kodama said with a smile.
"Is it okay for you to be up?" Yabiko questions with worry.
"When I see your faces I feel better." Yatsuno told her children with a smile. "My weariness is just blown away."
"Mother, brother was causing trouble chasing around big-breasted women again." Kodama told her, rushing towards her and hugged her with a smile.
"How troubling." Yatsuno said.
"Ko-Kodama!" Yabiko yelled at his sister.
'Even though Kodama loves Yabiko so much, but she needn't worry. Kodama will get bigger soon as well, she's my daughter after all.' Yatsuno mentally thought, causing Kodama to blush with embarrassment as she spoke.
"Mo...More importantly th... the medicinal herbs! There will cure your illness mother!" Kodama exclaimed.
"Kodama got them from the village." Yabiko added with a smile.
"Thanks you two. However, this body won't be cured." Yatsuno told them, much to their dismay. "This is not an illness, but rather the fate of a God who has given birth. God who have been blessed with children lose their power little by little and their lifespans becomes the same as a humans."
That got both Yabiko and Kodama sad to hear their mother's words which she was right about that.
"Kodama, please don't make that face." Yatsuno said to her daughter, wiping a tear on her face. "You know I...I am truly happy...Becoming the mother of children as kind and warm as you. For the short time that we've lived as a family. More than any of the repeated incarnations that I've lived through over these thousands of years. This life is shone brighter, that's why I want you two to live as humans. That's what I wished for. As a parent, I'd like to see you two independent or at least I'd like to live long enough to see me grandchild's face."
"Leave it to me!" Yabiko said with confident smile.
"Mother, would it be alright if we slept together tonight?" Kodama asks her with a smile.
"Oh brother, and you're usually such a reliable girl." Yatsuno said with a smile, sighed. "If you're like that I won't be able to pass on peacefully."
Days years have past since Oousu and his family have spent time together since he has to train his son of how to use a sword during the season of fall, fishing during the season of summer, and enjoying seeing the snow falling during the season of winter. Another year have passed, Yatsuno was starting to grew worse as she coughed when Yabiko explained the situation to his family.
"Are you alright mother?" Yabiko asks with worry.
"...Excuse me...Please continue." Yatsuno said.
"Yabiko...My little brother, Kousou no Mikoto has marched nearby for the purpose of God Hunting is what you said." Oousu questions his son.
"Yes, in the village I overheard that Lord Kousou has taken the name 'Takeru Yamato' and has gathered together a group of strong humans and given them Maken." Yabiko explains. "He's created a group known as 'God Hunters' and for the sake of stealing Maken, he is wiping out powerful families and even Gods."
"Even in the old days he shunned the Gods above him. Which means he's after Yatsuno and her Maken." Oousu said with his serious expression, knows his younger brother too well for his malice and cruelty. "He possesses an abnormal strength. For now, all we can do is run."
"My deepest apologies because I'm weak, I'm nothing but a burden." Yabiko said with a sad smile.
"What are you talking about? You're already a prodigious master of barrier skills." Oousu told him.
"That's right...I have a request that I can ask no one but you..."Yatsuno told her son, earned his attention. "I want you to protect them...Kodama and my eight Maken...At the very least...Protect 'Habakiri'."
"I...I understand why I have to protect Kodama, but...How am I supposed to protect eight Maken!?" Yabiko exclaimed with a question.
Before Yatsuno could ever answer her question, Kodama have come home as she spoke.
"I'm home." Kodama said to her family.
"Kodama...Perfect timing. We have to talk to you." Yatsuno said with a smile, leaving Kodama confused when she noticed someone was coming. "But first. There's a man outside. It's seems he's fathers acquaintance...or so he said."
That got Oousu noticed when he sense his brother's presence with panic as Kousou then drew out his sword.
"KODAMA GET DOWN!" Oousu yelled, but it was too late.
Kousou have sliced the house in half with ease, causing the structure of the building to collapse, leaving Kodama shocked when she saw Kousou standing on the wooden pillar with an evil smirk.
"Long time no see big brother...About twenty years right...You've gotten a bit older." Kousou said to his older brother.
"Of course I have...You haven't changed at all." Oousu said with a smirk. "Is it because of the power of all of the souls you've devoured?"
"Yabiko...Do you remember what we discussed earlier?" Yatsuno asks her son.
"Bu...But leaving you two would be-"
"Yabiko...You two are our treasure." Oousu told him with a smile, carried his sword. "Even when our lives are exhausted, let us protect you. I'm leaving it to you."
Yabiko then trembles when he knows that his parents are going to get killed by the hands of Kousou. Kodama tried to find out what has happened, but Yabiko then grabbed his sister while running for his life and carrying the eight Maken. Yatsuno and Oousu were relieved to see their children left with the eight Maken since neither of them don't want it to fall into the wrong hands, not even Kousou.
"You can go on as well." Oousu told his wife.
"I would certainly like to stay with my children for a little longer, but at the last, I want to be the one who granted me happiness." Yatsuno told him with a smile.
"Thank Yatsuno." Oousu said with a chuckle, causing Kousou to laugh.
"What an awful farce this is big brother!" Kousou mocks, earned their attention. "To think that you threw away your country just so you could play house...Did you forget? The result of you getting involve with women how you ended up. If you've forgotten, then let me refresh your memory."
Kousou then drew out his sword as the battle rages on.
Later that night, Yabiko and Kodoama rushed into the forest to reach the mountain of Amanohara before 'Habakiri' and the eight Maken would fall by the hands of Kousou.
"Brother! If that guy's the enemy shouldn't we head back." Kodama protests, wanted to help her parents.
"You saw his power too, didn't you?" Yabiko retorts his sister with a question. "Even if we stayed, we would have been in their way! Don't worry...as long as it's those two, they'll win. Even if they're up against the devil himself! That's why we have to do what we can!"
Kodama was shocked but knew that he's right which his mind has echoed about what his mother have told him.
'Yabiko...I'm leaving it to you...Please seal the 'Habakiri' in Amanohara. It is a sword that turns whoever it cuts into a God. Those who cannot endure the deification lose their lives, but it it's Takeru Yamato, a man who possesses the same power as your father, his body is likely a vessel that can stand a deification process. If he steals it, there well be no way we can win.'
Those words have echoed on his mind, but it made him snapped out of his thoughts when he noticed Kodama have sprained on her ankle.
"Are you okay!?" Yabiko shouts with worry, ran towards his sister. "If you can't run, then I'll piggyback you..."
"D...Don't worry about it and go on ahead." Kodama told him.
"Don't say stupid stuff." Yabiko argues, sighed. "Well, we've been running for half a day. If we've come this far, we should be able to rest a little, right?"
With that, Yabiko and Kodama then rest up at the river when she placed her feet down at the water to soothe the pain from her ankle.
"Brother, after all going back-"
"I told you already as long as 'Habakiri' isn't stolen, those two can't lose." Yabiko interrupts his sister.
"I guess." Kodama said with a smile as she then look at the river, but noticed the reflection of her mother as she then quickly turns her head around along with Yabiko. However, it was Kousou with two heads of Yatsuno and Oousu he carries which the two have died and defeated.
"I've found you...'Habakiri'...It would have been easier if these guys hadn't gotten in the way. Considering you escaped death, you've struggled quite hard however." Kousou said with his evil smile, throwing the two heads away. It cause Yabiko and Kodama to react with horror when they saw their parents were killed. "That's a better expression than I anticipated, it was worth bringing these with me after all."
Yabiko was starting to get angry when Kousou have killed them without any remorse.
"Don't worry brats, I'll do the same to you soon enough!" Kousou said with his laugh.
Yabiko was about to drew out the Maken, but Kodama beat him to it as she spoke with pure anger.
"Un...forgiveable!" Himegami muttered with anger. "I will never...FORGIVE YOU!"
Kodama then began to charge after Kousou with her Maken at hands, Yabiko tried to stop her but she's too angry.
"Kodama...was it? Well then you first." Kousou said as he was about to use his sword to slash her, but Yabiko have taken to blow instead when Kousou slashed him.
"Brother!?" Kodama screamed her brother.
"I...It's a bad habit to let the blood rush to your head...So easily." Yabiko told her with a smile, causing Kousou to laugh.
"How entertaining! For parents and children to be so similar." Kousou mocks with an evil smirk. "I guess it's only to be expected when the blood running through your veins is the same. The blood of a fool."
That got Kodama look at him with pure anger when she heard him made a mockery out of her family as she spoke.
"Shut up." Kodama said to him, earned his attention. "Your voice is...I never want to hear your voice AGAIN!"
With that, she fired the beam of light at him, causing the cliff to be destroyed and sent Kousou flying which it was unknown to the two that their mother have arrived along with the eight Shikigami.
"I told you didn't I? That even if my life was exhausted, I would protect you two." Yatsuno told them with a smile. "Even if-"
"Mo...Mother is...A Shikigami?" Yabiko questions with a teary smile, earned a nod from her as she look at her daughter.

"Yabiko, a man shouldn't cry in public." Yatsuno told her son, shed a tear when she heard Kodama called to her. "Oh dear, if you make that kind of face, even if I die I won't be able to let you go, Kodama."
With that, Yatsuno then embraced her daughter with heartwarming smile on her face along with Kodama. Until, Kodama have started to grow tired as she then went to sleep with a smile.
"Only her sleeping face is the same as it was when she was little." Yatsuno said with a giggle, petting daugher's head.
"She's tired from running all day." Yabiko told her.
"That may be part of it too, but most likely the Maken she used when she summoned us pushed her powers to their limits because she cannot yet employ Shikigami without a Maken." Yatsuno explains, turned her son with serious expression. "More importantly, Yabiko, you must leave here quickly. He, Takeru Yamato, still lives."
That got Yabiko's attention when he saw Kousou have manage to survive from that attack, leaving Yabiko shocked.
"Now that Kodama has lost consciousness, we will soon disappear." Yatsuno stated. "Furthermore, the battle squad he created 'God Hunters' is heading this way. Minatsuhiko!"
"You heard him!" He said with a smirk, earned a nod from him as he then turned to her. "Let's do this Kukunochi!"
The shikigami has an appearance of a young man with long brown hair, silver eyes, and white martial arts gi.
Minatsuhiko is a tall shikgami with a dark-green afro and dark green martial arts gi.
Kukunochi is a woman with long red hair that tied into a ponytail, blue eyes, white sash, and black yukata. She also carries a trident on her hand.
Minatsuhiko then began to put his finger on his nose.
"Why you! Don't you have any motivation!?" He shouts with annoyance. "I'll strangle you!"
With that, Minatsuhiko then used his power to make the tree grow a bit taller, leaving Yabiko shocked.
"So you can do it if you try!" He said with a smirk, playfully hitting his stomach.
"Yabiko." Yatsuno called her son, earned his attention when she carries her daughter. "Can I ask you...to tae care of her again? Take care of Kodama. You...You've been forced into nothing but painful things, but-"
"What are you talking about?" Yabiko interrupts her sentence. "My precious sister...I was planning on protecting her with my life from the start."
"You lot." The wind shikigami said, wiping his tears. "If you keep taking your sweet time, he'll wake up."
"Here are the Maken." Nozuchi said, extends the eight Maken.
"Be careful okay." Yatsuno said, earned a nod from her son as he then placed the eight Maken on his back while carrying her sister. The wind shikigami then grabs hold of him, leaping up in the air.
"Don't let go of that girl even if it kills you." The wind shikigami told him with a smirk, earned a no from him as they then landed on the tree while stretching. "There's such a nice breeze blowing him. Good! Old Man Wadatsumi!"
Wadatsumi has an appearance of an elderly man with his black hat, white hair, white beard, and had a light blue martial arts gi. He carries a fishing rod as he then cast his fishing rod to tie around the tree, reeling it in to prepare to catapult them. Yabiko was a bit scared since he's not liking where this is going while the wind shikigami grab hold of him. With that, Wadatsumi then launched the two as they fly with the amount of speed.
'Mother, I'm so sorry. It's most likely that I'm not the one who will have painful memories to with...' Yabiko mentally thought when he look at his mother with sad expression on his face as he then turned his head to Kodama. 'Kodama, even if you hate or resent me, I am-'
"What good children, you were blessed Yatsuno." Wadatsumi said, stroking his beard.
"He had good eyes." The muscular shikigami said, earned a nod from Wadatsumi.
The muscular shikigami has black spiky hair, black eyes, and brown martial arts gi.
"Indeed he did." Wadatsumi nods with an agreement.
"All the more reason why I don't want to let this guy lay a single finger on them." Yatsuno told them seriously, turned to Kousou. "We're stopping him until our bodies disappear!"
Kodama then opens here eyes since she woke up at the mountain of Amanohara as she slowly sat up.
"Where...are..."
"Are you up?" Yabiko questions her sister, earned her attention. "This is the most miraculous place under the sun. The sacred mountain, the peak of Amanohara."
"A...At what point did we..." Kodama said. "...But Takeru Yamato has been defeated right?"
"By now..." Yabiko said when Kodama noticed the eight Maken were placed at the rock pillars.
"This is...A battle ward that uses a Maken...This is a sealing skill isn't it!?" Kodama shouts with a question.
"Takeru Yamato is still...alive." Yabiko told his sister.
"And mother!?" Kodama exclaimed with worry.
"Mother is...Kodama...she is within you..." Yabiko answered. "As long as you are alive, mother will always be with you. That's why I...I intend to seal a God-Breaking 'Habakiri' in a place where Takeru Yamato's hands cannot reach it. Here with you."
"What are you talking about?" Kodama asks when her lips trembled as she then began to bang the barrier. "I never asked for anything like that! Besides brother-"
"Relax, the seal will be broken when Takeru Yamato dies." Yabiko assures her with a smile. "Until then, not even I who made this seal can a lay a hand on you or the Habakiri. As long he isn't a God, eventually his time will come...Please bear it until that time has come..."
"What I'm worried about is you-"
"You don't have to worry about that either." Yabiko interrupts, showed his cut wound to her.
"That cut...It couldn't be..." Kodama said with horror, earned a nod from him.
"It's a cut I got from Habakiri." Yabiko told her with a smile. "If this goes well, I'll become a God too."
"But if you don't have the power to bear the deification ceremony, you'll lose your life." Kodama told him with her face paled.
"I'm aware of that." Yabiko said simply.
"Quit messing around!" Kodama yelled, shedding tears while banging the barrier. "Why are making yourself a pariah!? I will fight too! Don't leave me alone here! Please! Together...Father...Mother...And now if I lose you too...There would not be any reason for me to live in this world any longer! Let me die together with you!... Alone...I don't want to be alone...Together with everyone-"
"Kodama." Yabiko called his sister, earned her attention as he then kissed the barrier next to her, then pulls back with his teary eyes. "Until the very end. I gave you pain, and...made you scream at me. But for you to...live a normal life as a girl...Were the hopes of our mother and father...and my selfish wish...I won't ask you to forgive me...But please just remember this...You are not alone. Your body holds...Mother and her memories of our father. And I will...always love you...I love you... Kodama."
With that, Himegami was starting to disappear as the beam of light then fires at heaven where she and Habakiri will be safe and not fallen into the wrong hands. Kousou the look at the top of Amanohara, wondering what that beam was until he saw Yabiko sliding down towards the ground.
"After all my luck I indeed blessed be the heavens, for I draw nearer to that which I desire without even any hard work." Kousou said with a smirk, earned a glare from him. "You said your name is Yabiko right? What happened to your little sister and Habakiri?"
"I left it somewhere where you can never reach it." Yabiko answered with a scowl, leaving Kousou disappointed.
"Well then, what are you doing?" Kousou questions. "Even if you use your sister as bait and try to run, it's useless! My followers have...The God Hunters have the mountains base surrounded."
"I don't need you concern." Yabiko told him, readied the ring on his finger. "Because I came her to defeat you. If I win, I will take...Your life."
"A single brat wishes to defy me..." Kousou said, laughing. "What a pleasant fellow you are!"
"I'm not alone." Yabiko told him, earned his attention. "Can't you see it? The spirits that this body contains...The mind and body I got from my mother. The ability to protect what's precious to me that I got from my father. The light in my soul that I got from Kodama. Bundle those together and right now holding this Ceremony of Bloodline."
Yabiko then tore up his yukata, showing the crest on his chest while raising his arm up, began to incantation.
"Here I release my Maken! Here two opposing currents will flow. Their paths will not meet. For the sake of opening one's own path."
"That crest...That power!" Kousou said with shock when he notices the crest. "My older brother's, no-"
"For the sake of erecting one's proof. I wager my soul, display yourself here."
"You! You couldn't have the power of a God!" Kousou shouts.
"The path of a child of the sun! Carve it into the Heavens!" Yabiko finished his incantation as he then unleashed his Maken. "Maken Knuckle: Kamudo"
Both Yabiko and Kousou then began to clash each other with their lives on a line. Few minutes later, Yabiko have finally defeated Kousou with his Kamudo when he saw Kousou collapsed down to the ground which he then also collapse down to the ground.
"This should...undo it." Yabiko said, panted heavily. "At long last...I...have...told...her."
