Episode 4 Part 6
The Saddle Club, Elle and Connor all met at Lisa's locker as soon as the class was over.
"So, you're telling me that the Janitor, and our new substitute Teacher are members of the Sundance clan?!" said Connor
Lisa nodded.
"That's right." She said, "And I think Ms. Madero should be the one that we interrogate."
"Okay," said Stevie, "Lisa contact Rafael and tell him to meet us by the old Oak tree after school. Now let's get to our last class before anyone gets suspicious!"
The kids nodded and headed off to their respective classes, secretly wishing that they all had this class together as well. Because, the school didn't feel very safe right at the moment.
Finally, after what seemed like the longest last period in the history of the educational system the bell rang. Lisa, Carole, Stevie, Elle and Connor all piled out a side door had headed for the park. They all reached the old oak tree at the same time.
Rafael, who had received Lisa's message was waiting for them. Lisa filled him in. then they took up positions out side the school to wait for Ms. Madero to come out. 20 minutes later she emerged. She turned and started down a side street. They small group of friends followed her carefully.
"If she really is Sundance, she'll double back several times trying to make sure that she's not being tailed." Whispered Rafael. The others nodded.
Sure enough a few minutes later, she turned and went in the opposite direction. The group managed to take cover and she never saw them. After three more double backs she wound up walking through the park.
Just as Ms. Madero passed through a secluded area called the hedge row, she suddenly found herself surround on all sides. Rafael stepped out in front of her and pulled his pendant out from under his shirt.
Her eyes widened. She looked like she wanted to run but every way of escape was blocked.
"Miss Madero," said Rafael, "Let's not dance around, My friends, and I know that you are part of the Sundance clan of the Romani. and we want some information from you."
Just then the Janitor exploded up and out of the bushes with a primal roar which instantly changed to howl of pain as he hit the ground holding his bleeding leg.
The surprised girls as well as Connor and Rafael had whirled around at the sound of the roar. After he hit the ground their eyes moved to Elle who was standing there with a drawn sword in her hand.
"What?" she said, sensing their shock, "you didn't hear him coming?"
Just then another flurry of motion caught their attention and Lisa stuck out her foot and tripped Miss Madero who tried to run while they were distracted. She went sprawling.
"Where do you think you're going?" snapped Lisa,
Rafael smiled at Lisa and Got Ms. Madero back on her feet.
"Miss Madero," he said, "You might want to reconsider cooperating with us now!"
