AN: Hey everyone, I am finally back to give you more of this series. We last left off with RWBY as they start the preparations for Duel Spirit Festival. Now, we check in on some of the other students and what they are doing. With it, I give a little more context to one of the new additions this season, as well as show an unexpected guest for a brutal duel. Chapter 34 – The Amazoness
At around breakfast, four students were sitting at a Slifer Red cafeteria table. Blair and Bastion sat on one end, each having a half-filled blow of rice. Across from them were Jaden and Nora, both of whom were scarfing down their bowl at unhealthy speeds. Upon finishing, the two placed their bowl on a leaning tower of their past portions. However, it soon started to topple before Sienna walked up to stop it, "Have you two had enough?"
"Is there more?" Nora and Jaden spoke at the same time, causing the headteacher of Slifer Red to glare. However, Sienna sighed before placing another bowl in front of the hungry duo, "Thank you!" they said before scarfing down this bowl at the same rate.
Bastion then lowered his head towards Sienna, "I apologize for this." He said before glancing back to Nora, "She was banned from our dorm's cafeteria until it's restocked."
"You do get that our dorm is not at the capacity to feed people like these two gluttons." Sienna responded, then looked over to the empty tables, "At least it seems most students wanted to skip breakfast today." She said before carrying the bowls to the back kitchen.
"Which means more for us," Jaden responded with cheeks half full.
"Yep." Nora responded before taking a drink of water, "I don't know why, the food here is great!"
"Nora, you'll consume anything." Bastion commented, "I have never seen someone nearly empty the bid of Drawbread before."
"What, I can't let the food go to waste." Nora responded, "Plus, I still haven't pulled that Golden Eggwich yet." She then turned to Jaden, "Have you ever tried it?"
"Oh yeah, a bunch of times," Jaden responded, "It was super tasty. Creamy, yet metallic, but in a good way." He said with Nora slightly salivating at the thought.
Bastion sighed again, then felt an odd pressure beside him. In looking over, the posh Ra Yellow saw Blair with a mixed look of worry and frustration, "Another rival to Jaden's love." She spoke, "But, this one has so much in common with him."
"Uh?" Nora responded, causing Blair's face to turn slightly red a being overheard, "We aren't dating." The electric Ra Yellow spoke, a slight smile forming, "Besides, I already have a boyfriend."
"Oh," Blair responded, "Um, cool…" she said before looking down to eat her food.
"I didn't know that." Bastion said with a smile before looking to Jaden, "Did you?"
"Hm?" Jaden spoke, his cheeks filled to the brim with food.
"…Never mind, just keep eating." Bastion said with Jaden doing so. The posh Ra Yellow then turned back to Nora, "Can you tell us about him?"
"Well, his name is Ren." Nora responded, "He's lower energy, very basic, and does not talk that much."
"He sounds…" Blair responded, "Boring."
"I thought most couples want to describe their partner's good qualities," Bastion asked.
"Those are his good qualities." Nora responded with a smile, "Ren doesn't try to somebody else; he just acts like who he is." She said before looking down at the rice bowl with a soft smile, "Back when I was…a lot hungrier all the time. He was one of the only people to talk with me, give me some food, and make me feel…important." Nora spoke with the other listened, even Jaden stopping to hear. "He even convinced his parents to take me on one condition." The electric Ra Yellow spoke with a spark in her eyes towards her friends, "That I prove I can be a great duelist by graduating at this academy."
"Wow," Blair responded in awe, then had a look of confusion, "Wait, why prove that?"
"They are very big into the game, but do not want their son to get involved with it." Nora responded, "Something about real monsters attacking a city once when a big eye was in the sky. I don't know, I didn't see it." She said before quickly finishing off her bowl, the others looking at her in awkward silence. Nora then put the empty bowl down with a smile on her face, "Point is, I'm going to do my best here, and get better at dueling so I can see Ren again when I get back home."
"Well, we're going to do whatever we can to help you along the way." Jaden responded before seeing Sienna leaving the kitchen, putting on her duel disk, "What going on?"
"I was just informed by the Chancellor where all my students went," Sienna responded with a sigh before turning to the group, "The four of you have a choice, either come with me to help recuse them. Or do the dishes in the back. Honestly, I do not know which one will take longer."
A short while later.
Sienna led the four through the woods before making it to a clearing. Standing in the middle of the forest was a large coliseum, "I don't remember this being here before." Sienna spoke with her arms crossed.
Bastion then tapped on Jaden's right shoulder, "This was the place Yang and I dueled Pyrrha." He whispered, "That was back when she was still under their control."
"You think it might be the Shadow Rider?" Jaden asked, "But how?" he said before Blair looked towards him in confusion, "I mean, how did this get here? This coliseum."
"Yes, it was built a while ago." Bastion responded, walking up to one of the pillars, "Yet, it looks to have been under maintenance." He said before seeing Nora march inside, "Wait, what are you doing?"
"This place looks cool," Nora responded, "I want to see the inside."
"The students are obviously here." Sienna responded, "We are wasting time gawking like this."
"Yeah, she has a point." Jaden responded with Blair following him, "I would love to duel in this place."
Bastion sighed before catching up to the group. As they walked further in, they reached the arena portion of the coliseum. However, they glanced at a massive explosion from the end of a duel. A Slifer Red was flung across the arena before sliding on his back. As the group looked to the other side of the smoke, a tall muscular woman walked out with fair skin and two scars over her right eye and cheek. She wore a golden spiked chocker, as well as a matching set on her wrist and ankles. Her top was almost skintight with belts strapped around her stomach above her black pants. "You were a strong man when it came to restoring my coliseum," she spoke to the Slifer Red student, who was blushing, "But you are weak as a duelist, and not fit to be my husband." She spoke be a trap door opened under the Slifer Red's body, dropping him into the dungeon below. The group of five gasped, gaining the warrioress duelist' attention, "Oh, more visitors."
"Who are you?" Sienna spoke as she walked towards the warrioress duelist, "What have you done with my students."
"I am Tania." The warrioress duelist responded, "Do not worry, I simply visited them with an offer to help maintain my coliseum." Tania responded, "I did the same last year when I had a group build this place for me."
"Why?" Sienna responded with a scowl.
"Well, the first is an act of devotion to me, a test of their worth." Tania responded, "Once they pass, I allow them to duel me for the chance at marriage."
"M-marriage!?" Blair responded.
"Yes, if they prove to be strong both in body and in dueling, I will marry them." Tania responded before sighing, "Sadly, all have been turned out to be too weak for me." She said before glancing to Jaden and Bastion, "Now, you two seem strong, would either of you like to prove your metal."
"I mean, I'm always ready to throw done," Jaden responded with a grin.
"EH!?" Blair exclaimed, "This woman is another rival for my love to Jaden, and she already proposed marriage!?" the maiden Slifer Red spoke before looking at the warrioress duelist' body, "How can I compete with that."
"Stay out of this, Jaden," Sienna called out.
"You too, Bastion," Nora added on with a scowl towards Tania.
"I didn't even say a word yet?" Bastion commented, "And, why are you mad?"
"She thinks she can just judge people's worth so quickly before casting them aside." Nora spoke before her body started to spark with electricity, "It gets me angry when people don't consider how others feel!"
Suddenly, Nora felt a hand on her right shoulder. She turned to see it was Sienna, "Calm down, don't let her actions get the better of you." The headteacher of Slifer Red said with Nora slowly taking a breath, then nodded back. Sienna then turned to Tania, "Your whole marriage idea here is ridiculous. I will duel you. If I win, you must release my students."
"I do not duel women." Tania responded, slightly looking up, "The only exception was that one red-haired girl in armor that came here. She beat me without ever taking a direct hit. And I had to fee my coliseum while she remained its champion with a stoic gaze." The warrioress duelist sighed, "I had hoped to battle again, having revamped my deck now. But she seems to have left this island." She said before looking back to Sienna with crossed arms, her voice tone turning more spiteful, "Plus, who would ever want to marry you? Those thin arms? I doubt you could lift even a chain over your head, let alone a duel disk. And that petty attempt at feline attire with those ears does not make you cute, it makes you desperate for people to like you."
"…Ouch." Jaden said before looking to Sienna, who was seething with rage in her eyes. Her fangs flared, her hands in the shape of claws as she readied to pounce on this warrioress duelist to leave a scar on the other eye, "Uh, Teach. Please heed your own advice." He spoke with trepidation in his voice.
Suddenly, Bastion walked between the glaring woman, "Let's all calm down. I have an idea." He said before turning to Tania, "If you beat one of us, I will call the girl you dueled before and set up a rematch."
"You can do that?" Tania said with Bastion nodded, "I see, very well then." She said before looking to the five, "Now, which of you will be my opponent?"
"I will," Sienna responded.
"Me," Nora added on.
"I'll do it." Blair spoke, "I cannot let this mistreat of love go unpunished." She said before looking back to Jaden, "Leave this to me, I will not let her marry you."
"Uh, thanks?" Jaden said before Bastion helped take him to the stands.
"Three volunteers. In that case," Tania said before taking out a deck, shuffling it, "I normally have two different kinds of decks: Courage and Knowledge. In revamping, I have created a third one. This one is call Pride." The warrioress duelist said before holding out the deck, hiding the last card, "Each of you guesses the bottom card's type. Whoever is correct is who I shall face."
"Fine, I'll pick that it's a Trap card," Sienna spoke.
"I choose Spell," Nora added on.
"Monster card, that's my guess," Blair predicted.
Tania smiled revealing the card to the others. Even from the stands, Jaden could tell what it was, "Polymerization, that's a spell." He said before Tania reshuffled her deck.
"Tsk," Sienna scoffed, then looked over to Nora, "I'll be counting on you then."
"I won't let you down." Nora responded with a nod, then looked to Blair, "And I make her pay for disrespecting love." She said with Blair and Sienna smiling back. While the two walked back to the stands, Nora focused on Tania, who readied a massive duel disk on her left arm. Nora readied her own duel disk, slotting the deck in spark flying from her fingertips.
"Duel!" the two spoke as the battle in the coliseum had begun.
Nora: 4000 Life Points
Tania: 4000 Life Points
"The first turn is mine," Tania said as she drew, playing the card, "I summon Amazoness Fighter in attack mode." She said as another warrioress has entered the arena, this one as muscular as the duelist who summoned her, (1500 ATK / 1300 DEF). "I end with one card face down."
"My turn," Nora said as she drew, grinning at the card, "I activate Thunder Dragon's effect. By discarding one, I can add two more to my hand." She said before doing so, then took a different card out of her hand, "Now, I summon Thunder Sea Horse in attack mode." The electric Ra Yellow said before the thunderous aquatic animal formed on her side of the area, (1600 ATK / 1200 DEF). "Now, attack her monster!" Nora declared as her monster raced across the arena to ram into Tania's monster. Nora smirked at the fighter exploding, but then had a look of confusion, "Why didn't you lose life points?"
"Battles with Amazoness Fighter result in me taking no damage." Tania responded, "You will have to do more than that hurt me."
Nora gritted her teeth before examining her hand, "I'll set two cards and end my turn."
"I draw." Tania said before pressing a button on her duel disk, "I activate my face down card, Amazoness Willpower. It lets me revive one Amazoness monster from my graveyard in attack position. However, it forces her to attack if able." She said as Amazoness Fighter rejoined the arena, (1500 ATK / 1300 DEF). "Now, I summon Amazoness Paladin to join her in combat." The warrioress duelist said as a tattered female swordswoman was summoned with a thin sword in hand, (1700 ATK / 300 DEF). "With her sister in arms, she gains 100 additional attack points. And this includes herself." Tania said as the paladin gained a red aura, (1700 + 200 = 1900 ATK).
"You call that a powerup?" Nora commented, "Please, I can take that."
"Then how about this." Tania responded before playing a continuous spell, "I play Amazoness Fighting Spirit. Then, I'll your monster with my Amazoness Fighter." She said as Nora had a look of confusion, "With this card, if an Amazoness engages with a stronger enemy, she gains 1000 attack points." The warrioress duelist said before her fighter gained an even larger yellow aura, (1500 + 1000 = 2500 ATK). Nora gasped as she saw her Thunder Sea Horse get punched in the face before exploding into a massive smoke cloud.
Nora: 4000 – 900 = 3100 Life Points
"Now, my Paladin can attack you directly." Tania declared as her other monster rushed in. However, emerging out of the smoke was a bolt of lightning in the shape of a massive arm, "What!?" Tania exclaimed while seeing her paladin's body clutched within the thunderous grip.
"Say hello to Thunder Hand." Nora said as the smoke cleared, "When my monster with 1600 original attack points is destroyed, this card gets to be special summoned." Nora said as she saw the monster grip tighten, (1600 ATK / 1600 DEF). "It may be weaker than your Paladin. But when summon this way, I can destroy one card you control." Nora said before Thunder Hand crushed Amazoness Paladin in its electrifying grip.
"I see," Tania said as a half-grin formed, "You might put up more of a fight than I thought." She said before taking a card out of her hand. "I'll set this and end my turn." With that, Amazoness Fighter lost the aura on her body, (2500 – 1000 = 1500 ATK).
"My move," Nora said as she drew, putting the card in her hand before taking a different one out, "I summon Thunder Nyan Nyan in attack mode." She said as a sparking drummer girl with short red hair in an orange leopard attire entered the field with a wink, (1900 ATK / 800 DEF). "Now, attack with Electric Beatdown. And you follow up with Lightning Crush Claw!" Nora said as Thunder Nyan Nyan began to play her drums, causing dark clouds to form overhead. While Thunder Hand rushed in with an open palm, "And with two attacks I reveal Raigeki Bottle." She said as the continuous trap card showed itself, forming a small clay pot on her side of the field.
"You may have revealed your Trap card," Tania responded, "But you have fallen into mine. I reveal Amazoness Archers. Not only do your monsters lose 500 attack points, but the battle continues." She said as her facedown revealed itself, summon a group of bowwomen that aimed at Nora's monsters. In unleashing their arrows, they stuck the red-eye in the center of the Hand (1600 – 500 = 1100 ATK). They also punctured the drums of Nyan Nyan, forming tears in her eyes, (1900 – 500 = 1400 ATK). Nora gasped as Amazoness Fighter leaped into the air, punching Thunder Hang into Nyan Nyan, causing both to explode.
Nora: 3100 – 400 – 100 = 2600 Life Points
"This isn't good." Blair commented, "Her opponent is counter every one of Nora's assaults."
"Just have faith," Jaden said with a smile, seeing a spark in the electric Ra Yellow's eyes as she watched two small bolts fly into the clay bottle, "She's got this."
"Since Thunder Hand was bestroyed, it is banished instead," Nora responded. "I set one card and end my turn."
"While I do not know the cards you have face down, I know your hand is just two level five monsters." Tania said before drawing, "I play Pot of Greed, giving me two additional cards." The warrioress duelist said while smiling at the result, "Now I play the spell, Double Summon." She said before taking two cards out of her hand, "First, I will call on the Amazoness Scouts in attack mode." She said as a duo of young female fighters entered the battlefield, (500 ATK / 1100 DEF). "Then, I tribute Amazoness Fighter to summon Amazoness Queen!" Tania said as before her fighter vanished. Being replaced by a towering woman sitting on a throne, her right leg over her left. While her right eye was covered by a skull embroidered patch, a massive sword was in her right hand. The two scouts knelt and lowered their heads towards this queen, (2400 ATK / 1800 DEF).
"If my math is right, the combined attack of those two monsters will wipe out all of Nora's remaining life points." Bastion commented.
"Too bad I won't be taking that much damage this turn." Nora responded, "I reveal my facedown card, Raigeki Break." She said as the trap showed itself, "By discard a card, I can destroy one of yours. And I pick your Queen." She said before a bolt of lightning shot towards the chosen monster.
"Then you have underestimated her subjects." Tania responded, "I tribute Amazoness Scouts to make my Queen unable to be targeted and unaffected by your card's effect." She said as the scouts vanished, while the queen stood up. With her massive blade, she slashed the Raigeki Break electricity before it could do any damage to her, "Now, attack her directly!" Tania declared as the Amazoness Queen leaped for a devastating slash.
"Not so fast, I have one more face down." Nora called out, "I reveal Thunder Dragons' Hundred Thunders! With it, I can summon Thunder Dragon from my graveyard," She said as the sparking green dragon formed on her side of the field, (1600 ATK / 1500 DEF). However, the Queen's blade slashed across its throat, causing it to explode.
Nora: 2600 – 800 = 1800 Life Points
"She defended well." Bastion commented, "But why did she not summon her monster in defense mode."
"This duel is about more than you realize," Sienna responded, glancing over to a focused Tania, "It is as her deck describes. Pride. Not wanting to cower away from what you are fighting for."
As the smoke cleared, the Queen looked on with a glare. With it, another Thunder Dragon was seen, (1600 ATK / 1500 DEF). "Heh, the other effect of my trap is special summoning all other thunder monsters from my graveyard with the same name." Nora responded, "But my first Thunder Dragon is banished now."
"I see," Tania flashed back to the moment of discard with Raigeki Break, "I end my turn."
"My draw," Nora said, gasping at the card, then grinned, "Now, you're in for it." She said before playing the spell, "I activate Polymerization, fusing Thunder Dragon on the field with one in my hand." The electric Ra Yellow said as the two creatures being to merge in the clouds above, turning them dark with the crackle of something approaching, "Come on out, Thunder Dragon Colossus!" she said as the darken thunder dragon descended onto the arena with lightning, (2600 ATK / 2400 DEF). "Go, attack with Superbolt Smasher!" Nora declared as her monster unleash a massive charge of electricity. This time, the lightning struck its mark. However, the smoke cleared to reveal the Queen still standing, "Huh?"
"Amazoness Queen's effect is simple; she and her subjects cannot be destroyed by battle." Tania responded, "However, I still take the pitiful damage you inflicted."
Tania: 4000 – 200 = 3800 Life Points
"Why you," Nora responded, then looked over to the clay bottle gaining another bolt, "I end my turn."
"I draw," Tania said before slightly chuckling, "You played this before, now I will do the same." She said before playing the spell card, "I activate Polymerization, fusing my Amazoness Queen on the field with the Amazoness Tiger in my hand." She said as the sabre tooth animal merged with the queen of amazons, "Come forth, Amazoness Empress!" Tania said with her arms extended, calling forth a white-haired amazon with a skull adorning it. Her blade larger and more curved than the prior queen, (2800 ATK / 2400 DEF). "Go forth my Empress, attack with Tribal Takedown." The warrioress duelist spoke before her monster leaped into the air, slashing Thunder Dragon Colossus across the face.
"No, you don't." Nora responded, "I use my monster's effect. By removing a Thunder monster, Colossus is spared from destruction." Nora said while putting away her Thunder Sea Horse.
"But you're life points still take a hit." Tania confirmed, "I could have dealt more with my Queen and Fighting Spirit, but I choose to fight you with my new fusion monster." She said before crossing her arms, ending her turn.
Nora: 1800 – 200 = 1600 Life Points
"I don't need your pity, because that damage will not matter." Nora said while drawing, "Now, Thunder Dragon Colossus, attack her monster." She said with the dragon charging its Superbolt again.
"What?" Tania responded, seeing her monster leaped into the air for another counter slash, "Only the same outcome happened. What you did was pointless." She said as Nora removed her Thunder Nyan Nyan this time.
Nora: 1600 – 200 = 1400 Life Points
"Expect, it wasn't." Nora said as the fourth bolt of electricity filled the clay pot, causing it to spark out of control, "You see, each attack I did gave Raigeki Bottle a Thunder Counter. And when I send it to the grave with four counters." The electric Ra Yellow said with a point at Amazoness Empress, "Your monsters are all destroyed." She said with Tania gasping. The clay pot then erupted with a powerful bolt of lightning. The blast crashed into the Empresses' skull adornment, shattering it before an explosion filled the area, "Now, you're defense-" Nora said before the smoke cleared, seeing a familiar face had returned, "Why is the Queen back?" she exclaimed, (2400 ATK / 1800 DEF).
"Empress' destruction causing the queen's revival." Tania responded with her arms crossed, "It looks like she will be able to attack you with the fighting spirit boost after all."
"Not if I can help it," Nora said as she played the card she drew, "I play Mystical Space Typhoon, destroying your spell card for good." She said as the continuous spell was warped by the heavy winds before getting stuck by a sudden lightning bolt.
"You seem to be struggling until the end." Tania said before drawing but smiled at the result, "I play Fusion Recovery, adding back my Polymerization and Amazoness Tiger. Next, I play Polymerization."
"She's fusion summoning to make that Empress again?" Jaden commented but saw the monster merging in an opposite rotation. This time, the combination yielded a battle cat with armored shoulders and skull. The beast roared in a battle cry that rang through the whole arena, "Wow!" said in awe at this fusion monster, (2500 ATK / 2400 DEF).
"It is not that impressive." Sienna commented, "You're Heroes can do the same thing."
"I know, but it is cool to see on the other side of the duel," Jaden responded, but Sienna sighed.
"You now face Amazoness Pet Liger." Tania responded, "Now attack with Pounce of Punishment!" she said as the liger rushed towards the darkened thunder dragon, its fangs and claws at the ready, "And like Fighting Spirit, Pet Liger gains 500 more attack points." She said as her monster glowed in a red aura, (2500 + 500 = 3000 ATK). "Now, will you banish your last monster to save this one?"
"I…" Nora responded, reaching for her graveyard. However, she clenched her fist while looking down. The Liger reached Thunder Dragon Colossus's head, unleashing a third slash to the monster's face. Nora stood motionless as her fusion monster fell behind her, then faded away.
Nora: 1400 – 400 = 1000 Life Points
As her Pet Liger landed, its attack returning to normal, (3000 – 500 = 2500 ATK)., Tania let out a sigh, "I'm disappointed in you." She spoke, "I was starting to think you had the heart of a warrior, as I do. Yet, it appears I was wrong." She said before tilting her head back, crossing her arms with the end of her turn, "You are nothing, just a waste of time." The warrioress duelist said as the four in the stands had a look of anger fill their eyes, "No man could ever love you."
"…" Nora did not say a word but clenched her fist as tight as she could. While gritting her teeth, her body sparked with electricity. However, something appeared in her mind. The image of a young man in a green attire. His disheveled black hair had a magenta streak in it. In looking at this individual's smile, Nora felt all her negative emotions fade away. Slowly, she loosened her grip before the static faded, "You're wrong." The electric Ra Yellow spoke to Tania, "There is at least one person out," Nora said before looking at her opponent with a confident smile, "That loves me as much as I love him. I draw!" She said before conducting her turn, glancing at the card with a smile, "And if I want to see him again, that means I must win! So, I remove one Light monster and one Dark monster from my graveyard."
"You're doing what?" Tania said as she uncrossed her arms, watching Nora take out her third Thunder Dragon and Colossus.
"I'm banishing then," Nora said before slamming the card she drew onto the arena, "To summon Aeon Thunder Dragon!" She said as the whole sky seemed to turn dark. The clouds cracked with white and black lightning, when two bolts suddenly collided. With the merger of energy, the result created a twin-headed dragon, whose dual roars echoed through the whole island, (2800 ATK / 0 DEF). "Now, attack with Duo Superbolt Crusher!" the electric Ra Yellow spoke while her monster charged for that assault. In one dragon's maw, the lighting was white. In the others, a pitch black. At the same time, both unleashed the Superbolt on their target. The lightings merged into one before obliterating the Liger.
Tania: 3800 – 300 = 3500 Life Points
"Alright Nora, way to go!" Jaden called out with her waving back.
"Now, Aeon's effect activates. I can remove a card like my Mystical Space Typhoon to add a thunder monster from my deck to my hand." Nora said before taking the spell card out and putting it away, then searching for a certain monster, which she quickly summoned, "I choose Thunder King Rai-Oh." She said as a blue metal creature with electricity sparking in a circle around its body formed. (1900 ATK / 0 DEF).
"My turn." Tania said while drawing her lone card, "I summon Amazoness Princess in attack mode." She said as a small girl with a spear was summon to the arena, her white hair matching that of the former empress, (1200 ATK / 900 DEF). "With her effect, I can add an Amazoness Spell or Trap to my hand. And I pick Amazoness Spellcaster."
"That card," Sienna commented, "It swaps the attack points of two opposing monsters."
"But if she does that to Aeon," Blair added on, seeing Tania reach for her deck, "Nora is going to lo-" She said before Tania's hand was repeated from her deck by electricity, "Eh?"
"Sorry, but that's not going to happen." Nora spoke with a grin, "Rai-Oh over here prevents either of us from adding cards from the deck to the hand while he's face up. Except by drawing them."
"You…" Tania stood in shock, then closed her eyes. She then had a soft smile form on her face, "You beat me." The warrioress duelist said before opening her eyes and pointing, "But I will not surrender! Amazoness Princess, attack Thunder King Rai-Oh!" "Now then," Tania said while looking directly at Nora, "Finish it." The warrioress duelist asked with the electric Ra Yellow nodding. With one command, Aeon Thunder Dragon unleashed its dual attack for this second time. With a direct attack on her body, Tania fell to one knee as her life points ticked to zero.
Tania: 2800 – 2800 = 0 Life Points
Nora's monsters faded away as she let out a sigh of relief. In turning to her left, she saw the others approaching, greeting her with smiles.
"That was rather impressive," Sienna commented.
"Yeah, Nora. It was so cool!" Blair spoke with glee.
"Indeed, you have already learned a lot from our duel," Bastion added on.
"I knew you could win," Jaden spoke last.
"Thank you, everyone." Nora responded before all turned to see Tania walking up to them, "And you, are you going to uphold your end of the bargain?"
"Of course, I would have no Pride if I did otherwise." Tania responded, "Granted, I was planning to release them at the end of the Duel Spirits Festival anyway." She said before having a warm smile on her face, "But, I think it is for the best that they hang out with their friends during these peaceful times."
"And what about you?" Bastion asked.
"I will take my leave, as it seems I have more training to do." Tania responded, then looked back to Nora, "It seems that I have two female duelists I need to get even with now."
"As long as I'm here, you can count on a rematch." Nora responded with a grin and a spark in her eyes, "So long as you are prepared to lose again."
"You may have the heart of a warrior after all," Tania said before having a soft smile again, "Take care of those that love you, and they shall respond in kind." She warrioress duelist said before turning around, walking into the corridor of the coliseum.
"She's right," Sienna commented, crossing her arms, "But I still don't like her." She said while glaring at the corridor the warrioress duelist exited out of. However, upon closer examination, she saw something resembling a white-tiger in the shadows, "What in the world-" Suddenly, the train of thought was cut off by a loud grumbling sound.
"Oh man, I'm starving." Nora commented, "It's close to lunchtime, right?"
"Uh, sure," Sienna said with a smile forming, "After we free all the students, I can make arrangements for your victory meal."
"Sweet." Nora responded, then turned back to Jaden and the others, "To be honest, the food tastes a lot better when eating with good friends."
"I can agree to that." Jaden responded, "And I'm sure Ren would too." He spoke with Nora nodding, "Who knows, he's probably doing the same with his friends now."
"Yeah, you're ri-" Nora said before something came to her mind, "Hey Jaden, you don't think any of his friends are girls too, right?"
"I mean, does that matter?" Jaden responded with a shrug.
"No…no it doesn't…no…" Nora spoke before her right eye twitched, "I'm a…gonna head back right now to… make a quick call…" the electric Ra Yellow said before running off and out of the coliseum.
"Huh." Jaden said before looking back to the others, "Was it something I said?" he asked, but all three said nothing as they glared at the spirited Slifer Red, "What?"
AN: There you go, Jaden continues to be ignorant to the machinations of love. Still, Nora is the star of this chapter. She shows a lot more of her thunder deck. (Which for the main deck Thunder Dragon, I will use the OCG translated names, because the TCG ones are stupid). More importantly, I also explain her origins for this series. It matches a lot with the cannon, but with her deep relationship with Ren already establish before her arrival. He is not here because his parents are alive in this continuity and are a bit overprotective of their baby boy. Overall, I think this makes Nora a lot more motivating in her duels, as well as puts Ren in a good light despite him not being in this series directly. On the other side, Tania shows up. I know I said I would have opponents be duel spirits, but I think you know why this one counts. Plus, her Amazoness cards and personally make her fun to write. I do not know if I will have her come back, but I liked including her here to also explain why there is a random coliseum in the middle of the island. Next chapter, we check in on the group of Obelisk Blues as they encounter a duel spirit, this one not quite as friendly. Now, time for some answers to your questions. For the Remnant inspired Duel Spirits Ream, I don't think I will return to it. At least, no time soon. If anything, I may do that as its own series, creating a world that uses the archetypes I like, but do not have here because of things like being Link focused. I think that would be fun in the future or after I am done with this series. I saw one regarding if Celina would have been here if a character did not have Lunalight cards, and I would say it would have been highly likely. She is very cool, and I love those Lunalight cards a lot, (but they need to come out with new support already). With Celina, she would have been a sort of Slifer Red Weiss to Ruby where the two and Blair would have formed a trio bond. And while that sounds nice, I feel like it would change the season a lot for interclass dynamics. It would be hard to make RWBY work when Ruby is with another small click as well. Which this was a similar problem GX had with Jaden in the third season, and I wanted to try to avoid that here. In a similar boat, while Melodious are planned for this series, I will not have Yuzu appear to use them. Moving on, my personal favorite charmer in Hiita, she just has a lot of personality. Anime Jaden verse Manga Jaden? I like Manga Jaden more, but I think both are good. I plan to have my Jaden here use fusions form both versions when appropriate but will avoid the masked hero ones. My opinion on Myutant archetype is I think they are the other half of the Resident Evil reference that the Venders were. Ironically, Oobleck would play these in this series. Both are weird in a cool way, and he looks the mad scientist who would make those creation. (Like I said, I don't know what a good enough fit for him would be). For Port, it would have to be Danger! Monsters in full force. But as I said, they are a pain to write for. I do not have a place for these two teachers in this academy, and I doubt that will change. Amazement cards look cool, like a modern version of what Yuya's deck should have looked like. And Blood Rose looks great, but I think it will be called Crimson Rose in the TCG. Finally, in the list of archetypes mention, none will appear in this series yet. I have already planned which ones will have a Duel Spirit avatar for the upcoming chapter, including the next one.
