Hello everyone! This is a bit off the update day, but I figured since I didn't update Saturday I would just do it today! I hope you guys enjoy!
Onto Reviews...
TU4QU0I53T4AN6L3: Yes you were! And yes, tragically Scott does not have a form like everyone has been led to believe. However, a bit of a bonus hint...I'm not done with Scott yet. I'm actually glad you are surprised about Acid! I was worried that I was too obvious! And as for keeping himself from killing Leo? We shall see...
Fantom Knight: I'm strangely glad for the gut punches! Means I must be doing something right huh? And yes! Acid is Andrew, however, while yes Michael did say that, he then corrected himself. He is aware of Andrew being alive. But certainly not Springtrap. So it will certainly be a interesting discovery. Ah, good thinking in regards to Leo. He might just, however tragically he remembers next to nothing about his childhood. Colt however...? He does indeed remember his childhood.
Pk - SPRINGTRAP HUG MEH: Very fair point. We shall see if his intentions toward Leo are favorable or not so.
Victor John Foxfire: Clever you picking that up! Nice job! As for your other theory, I'm afraid that Leo and Michael are separate characters. They will however meet later on. But interesting line of thought! As for Leo's eating issues, that is a very complicated mess, but it does have to do with certain things that happened in his childhood. And yes, Andrew can be quite vexing, William would certainly agree with that statement.
A reader (Chapter 32): Tragically as revealed in this chapter, it isn't Scott. Things certainly would've turned out differently if it was.
A reader (Chapter 33): I believe you are referencing the question about Acid and his urge to kill Leo, yes...that will definitely have to be seen.
JustAFemaleGeek (Chapter 32): Good instincts :D
JustAFemaleGeek (Chapter 33): Good guess! And yes, he was and we shall see how Scott is incorporated in the future hm? And as for Acid? Oh yes, he is very much trouble...and suffice to say he will only get worse. Yup! Oldest Afton son. As for the Puppet? This chapter will reveal his fate.
Silverleone: Thank you!
I own nothing but my characters and ideas.
(Also...seven reviews one chapter!? Thank you so much guys!)
Chapter 34
The Dangers Of The Aftons
"You realize this is going to take awhile right? And since you don't want to tell the others we will have to somehow keep it a secret." Joey said, as she looked over the animatronic before her.
Said animatronic took a raspy breath and looked to the side, "I...I can understand if you can't do it. It's fine, I don't mind being alone that much...really." He admitted, and Leo stepped forward a hand out toward him.
"No, hold up." He turned to look at Joey, "you just said it was going to be difficult...not impossible...right?" The question received a nod as an answer.
"I can do it. It's just...we are going to have to replace a lot of parts. Which means we will be here a lot." She turned to Acid, "I will need to have my meds prepared beforehand." He looked away from Scott and nodded.
"Okay! I'll go and take care of that now!" Then he turned and skipped away humming ring around the roses. Leo shook his head with a breath and turned back to Scott who was watching the man go.
"Sorry about him, we are pretty sure no one understands him...if he even understands himself..." he trailed with a breath, Scott turned to look at him and nodded.
"I can see that." He turned to look at Joey, his ear twitching again like it wanted to move. "Now, how long do you imagine this would take?"
She looked him over, encircled him before standing there again and tilting her head, "eh...a few days? A week at most? I'm familiar with models like yours. I used to work on them a lot with my parents." At that Scott nodded. He then tilted his head and held a hand at the height of Leo's chest.
"I remember coming to work and you being this tall. Foxy was always your favorite...wasn't he?" The deceased man asked, and she paused before nodding.
"Yeah, I helped make him with my dad when I was very little..." she paused and tilted her head. "But...I don't remember you."
"Well it was a while ago, I can't imagine that you would be able to." He then looked down at his suit and back to her. "Now….you had mentioned something about new parts?" Leo couldn't help but smile at the enthusiasm in his voice.
Good...he was glad he was excited about something.
Andrew hummed as he skipped to the main room. The others were once again playing that stupid game of poker or something.
Whatever, so long as they were distracted.
His eyes scanned the room until they finally landed on his target.
The Puppet.
The spindle animatronic was hovering near Bonnie watching over the game. Acid nodded to himself and then held his breath for a solid minute or two. When he was sufficiently deprived of air, he finally let himself breathe and ran into the room with a gasp.
"Puppet! Puppet!" He called, and the spindle bot turned around and looked at him.
"What is it?" Only Bonnie who was closest looked up as well.
"Is Leo alright?" He asked instantly, and Acid nodded hands on his knees taking deep breaths.
"Yeah...yeah, he just told me to come and get you." He looked at the Puppet, "he said something about needing someone who could fit into a small space?" He shrugged as he said it. The Puppet mocked a sigh and shook his head.
"It seems the guard can do nothing without assistance." Acid only nodded in response, the Puppet mock sighed again and followed after him.
The assistant led him past the office, and he could tell that the bot was now unsettled and slightly suspicious, if his searching looks around indicated anything. "He needs something only you can get in parts and service." Andrew supplied, he could feel the cool presence of the haunted animatronic following him.
"That's rather specific." The spindle bot muttered behind him. Acid could only smirk to himself as he headed into the back room. He hung back at the door frame and let the animatronic go past him.
"So what do you need?" The bot asked looking around, Acid spotted a crank and grabbed it off the ground, then he went up behind the bot and before he could turn around. The assistant hit him over the head.
The bot crumpled like paper.
Andrew giggled and then pulled out a seemingly intensely modified taser, he went over and turned him onto his back. Getting above him the man ripped off his mask, and ignored the confused mutters. The mask slid on the ground a few feet away but his attention was on the black spindle bot before him.
"As daddy wants." He giggled and jammed the taser into the eye of the animatronic, then he turned it on.
The bot shuddered as the intense electricity pulsates through him, his small body spasming uncontrollably. And over the noise of the taser, no one hard Acid laughing uncontrollably as well. The light from the electricity lit up his face in a dark way.
Once the pulse died down, he pulled the taser out grinning at the sight of the smoking prongs. With a smirk, the man got up, and went over to the door. He shut it silently and turned back to the Puppet.
"Now...let's make this look like an accident."
Leo was nervous, but he was doing his best not to show it.
"Leo?"
...okay, he wasn't good at hiding it.
He turned to look at Scott, trying to ignore how unnerving his perpetual smile was.
"Yeah?" The bot looked at him and then back at Joey who was across from the animatronic.
"Joey is about to start cleaning me out...she didn't know if you wanted to be here." He supplied and Leo paused before looking over his animatronic friend. Then to Joey who was waited with both eyebrows raised, he took a breath and adjusted.
"No, no. I'll stay." He paused and looked at the door, "I'll...stay when I get back, I need to go speak with Enix first." He got up from his seat only to stop when his arm was grasped by a large hand.
"Are you going to tell him?" Scott asked, Leo turned to look at him. He was impossible to read aside from his voice. He sounded hesitant. Leo paused and took a breath.
"No, not until you are cleaned up. I'm just going to tell him that I will be staying." With that he left the room.
As he headed down the hallway he thought he heard a giggle coming from someplace but it was too faint to justify an exploration. For all he knew it was one of the ghost children.
Leo headed toward the main room, and with a bit of guilty realization, the guard couldn't help but acknowledge that he hadn't spent any time with the others tonight. But that guilt quickly disappeared.
They probably wanted some time without him anyways.
When he entered the main room Enix spotted him and came over taking a breath, "so, you finally decided to join us huh?" He asked and Leo stole a breath looking to the side.
"I just wanted some time to myself, is that so bad?" He asked crossing his arms with another breath. At this the man before him could only sigh and rub his forehead. Leo cast his gaze to the side struck with guilt again.
Was this what they meant by him being difficult?
"No. But it would be nice if you told someone instead of just running off like that whenever you like." The man scolded and Leo paused feeling his insides tense up. Why did he have to answer to anyone? He was a grown man!
"Fine, well I will be staying here today. So I won't be coming home." He informed, before turning to look at him and raise an eyebrow. "Is that enough heads up for you?"
But that made Enix pause and furrow his brow, "why are you staying here?" He asked, and Leo opened his mouth to respond, only to jump as a hand landed on his shoulder.
"Joey needs his help! She is trying to repair the camera systems and my hands aren't enough." Acid said from behind him, Leo looked back at him and took a breath before turning back to Enix and nodding.
"Yeah, I know the camera's best. So she said she needed my help." He backed up and shrugged, "I'll be back tonight before our night shift, don't worry." With that he turned and headed back to where Joey and Scott were.
He ignored the worried look in his comrades eyes.
"Be careful alright? I don't want my arm to fall off." William advised, watching as she slid off the exoskeleton forearm.
"Yeah, yeah I get it." She huffed and slid it off taking in the sight of the decaying body parts under it.
"Does the sight disturb you?" He asked, eyes flickering over her face, the one thing that seemed to be able to move without much difficulty were his eyes. They swerved whichever way he desired them to.
Though sometimes the picture would get fuzzy or full of static.
At his question she shrugged and took a breath, placing the arm piece to the side, "not really, I mean, it's messier, but the human body is just another machine." She looked up at him and shrugged, "just an organic one." At that he gave a dip of his head in acknowledgement.
"Right. So...you have been with Acid for awhile now...are you two…?" He trailed, once again searching her face, but much like her father, nothing was given away.
"Oh no, no, definitely not. No, he is my roommate but that's all. We grew up together actually." She shrugged, "he's been in my life for as long as I can remember."
"I see. Were your families friends?"
But the question made her pause as she removed his upper arm piece, he watched her a moment as her brow furrowed and she shifted in place.
"...I don't remember. It was awhile ago, but if you ask Acid he'll tell you. He has a much better memory than I." After that she slid off the arm piece and took a breath removing the shoulder plate and then beginning to untangle things. "You are going to need a new suit, there is no way the new boss will let you walk around during the day looking like that." She paused and tilted her head, "in fact, you are probably going to have to figure out the logistics with Leo." Then she paused and looked up at him, "the...A.I, the one that was in this suit, is it still functioning? Or is it just you?" At that he tilted his head thinking.
"Spring Bonnie you mean. Well. He and I often fought...for awhile as to who would be in charge. I wasn't as willing as the children to take the backseat...we have had many arguments and fights. But over the past few months he has been rather quiet. I'm not sure if my decaying body has eroded at his chip. I'm sure it could be reconstructed, but it would need time." He looked up, "I assume you are asking for the sake of performing and not tipping off that the animatronics are haunted. Correct?" At that she nodded.
"Yes, because of the body you are in, you will be expected to work, in some form or another." She shrugged, "sadly no free housing here. That's why we also gotta get you cleaned up, that way, it will be beneficial for Alder to keep you around." She looked up and shrugged again, "otherwise he might sell you." With that she turned back to work.
Springtrap watched her for a moment before letting out a raspy breath and leaning against the wall behind him.
That was something important to note.
He did not find it thrilling to be performing on stage in such a mechanical way, but he did have to abide by the rules here. In theory, yes, he could possibly fight his way through this place, and in normal circumstances he would. He would strangle this woman and deal with everyone around him.
But there was one problem.
He was very outnumbered.
If it had just been people, that wouldn't be a problem, but the animatronics could be a very serious problem.
All in all he counted about ten animatronics.
Ten potential enemies.
As he pondered on what to do, Acid and Leo entered the room. He glanced up at their entrance and unintentionally looked at Acid who winked at him.
If Springtrap had eyebrows he would've raised one, because color him vaguely impressed, the screwup child may yet be beneficial.
Down to nine he was.
"Ah...so you have begun..." Leo said speaking up and wetting his lips with a breath. He soon had to look away from the sight.
"Yeah, it's gonna be...tedious." Joey muttered before turning to look at him, "I doubt that you can keep everyone out of this office forever. We need another room." She informed turning to look at Leo who nodded with a breath. He glanced around before looking at the hole visible in the window across from him.
"Well...there is always the room you were in Scott." He looked at him and William gazed at the hole once again. Honestly, if at all possible he would avoid that room like the plague.
Especially since he had difficulty even seeing it at the moment.
"Are you certain that's the only place?" He asked turning back to Leo, the guard shifted and rubbed his jaw a bit.
"...well, I mean, they mostly stay in the main room...but..." he shifted looking around before taking a breath. "I just don't want someone walking in on this situation before everything is finished." He muttered the last bit and Springtrap nodded. This was good, he needed to make sure he kept it a secret as long as possible. So he could figure out how to best deal with the children.
Dealing with them was precarious, if they decided to riot against him...it could be difficult to continue on with his plans.
"Why do you want to keep this a secret from them again?" Joey asked, as she dumped more of his decaying parts into a bin next to her. Leo sniffed before plugging his nose with his fingers and taking a breath.
"Um...well, I don't know...I just…" he looked to the side and shifted. "It's stupid really, but...I don't...want them constantly thinking about what they had done in the past. It's not like I'm trying to diminish what happened…but...no one likes to be reminded of their past misdeeds." He mumbled looking to the side with a breath, William watched on interested, and his ear twitched curiously when the guard flinched and curled in on himself.
Interesting.
"I can understand." He interjected quietly, the man looked up and took a breath rubbing the back of his neck.
"Yeah...I just...don't want to cause any more problems then I have...that's all." That last part was mumbled, the man tended to mutter and mumble a lot.
"That is perfectly understandable, I will wait and remain in hiding for as long as you need me to." William answered, and Leo glanced at him and let out a brief smile before nodding with a breath.
"Thanks. I'll figure out what room will be best." He then turned to look at what Joey was doing and took a breath shifting in place. "Um...right, is...is this bothering you?" He asked looking up at Springtrap once again. William paused as he gazed down at parts of himself being removed from around the metal endoskeleton.
"It's a...crazy out of body experience I guess...it helps...that I don't recognize it. If it looked more like I did before...I would imagine it would be more difficult..." he trailed before shaking his head with the creaking groan.
"Right, yeah..." Leo trailed before taking a breath and shifting only to freeze and pale as Joey removed the chest piece. William took note of his face.
"Hey, why don't you go hang out with the others? We'll be fine in here." He offered, and the guard looked hesitant but eventually gave in, nodding and looking ill. Springtrap watched as he left and rested back against the wall.
It was interesting, he couldn't really feel anything anymore. Except for what brushed against the endoskeleton. The outer casing gave him no feeling whatsoever.
So as she removed his previous body, all he could feel was occasional tugging and her brushing against his endoskeleton.
It had taken him awhile to start calling this hunk of rusted metal his body.
But eventually he found himself exceedingly grateful for the benefits that death provided.
He was never hungry or thirsty. There was never the urge to eat, drink or use the bathroom. There was no worrying about breathing and whether there was oxygen. He wasn't sure why he still made noises like he was breathing, but for some reason that still happened.
He was stiff, but he was almost certain it was because of the rust that had built up over the years with the help of his blood as well.
And ah yes, the lack of smell was very beneficial, especially considering his situation.
He could hear things, but he was sure it was because of the suits programming.
Sometimes the programming would overtake him, and forced dialogue would spout out from his mouth as his body forced him to move in the automated motions.
However that had slowed in frequency over the past few months...or what he assumed was months. The only way he had been able to track time was to listen for when people came in and went out.
He did enjoy the nights, they were amusing...or at least they had been. Leo had been the most amusing of the recent batch of guards. He was very vocal in his complaints and noises that the whole time William had been very entertained.
The office had always been the easiest to hear things from. The main room grew more difficult to decipher what they were saying. But if he strained and leaned against the walls then he could just make it out.
He had been striving for the opportunity to speak with the guard since he had changed how things went in the nights.
But the man apparently never went to the bathroom.
Though that was likely because he didn't eat anything.
That would have to be a problem that was solved.
William leaned back more and gazed up at the ceiling as previous body parts were removed from his current ones. Once again, the sensation was odd, but not painful.
However, as he was sitting there, something out of the corner of his eye made him look.
The sight of the slumped over Fredbear costume made him suddenly lurch up, he tried and failed to gain control of his appendages and...well whole body in fact.
He jerked into a standing position and his torso jerked around sharply toward the empty costume that sat right outside the door to the office.
"Oh look who it is! Fredbear would you like to say hello to the guests?" The garbled and mechanically warped voice of Spring Bonnie came from his mouth and he couldn't help but wince and hiss as the jerky mechanical stage movements put strains on his joints and limbs.
"Scott?! What the ****!?" Joey demanded getting up as his hands moved into the position of holding a guitar.
He let out a cry as his body jerked to face her, hissing as his head forcibly tilted itself to the side and slightly downward in greeting. "Hello thERe maaaaaaaaaaadam! So gLaD you coULD join us t-t-t-t-t-t-ODayyyyyyy!" The words grew more garbled as he continued, there was a spark that came from his still whole ear that made him jerk and cry out sharply as the forced mechanics powered down and he slumped to the side finally free.
Raspy breaths came from his now agape mouth, his frame and endoskeleton shook under the strain, and finally his legs gave out under him sending the animatronic man crashing to the ground.
Once his vision cleared enough, William swerved his gaze up to the living above him. Joey was leaned over, hands on her knees eyebrows raised and looking unimpressed. Acid was over her shoulder biting at his nails and looking worried as he bounced from foot to foot.
William barely restrained from rolling his eyes.
"So. Wanna tell me what that was about?" She asked as he pushed himself into a sitting position. As she stood up, his hand went to his head and he rubbed it gingerly, a headache began to bloom nastily at the side where the spark came from.
Before he answered, he turned his attention the place where the costume of Fredbear was.
Only to find it empty.
"Scott?" Joey pressed, leaning into where he was looking, he turned back to her and she resumed her previous position.
"I uh...nothing, it was just the old programming. Sometimes it takes over." The deceased man muttered as he rubbed his head more.
"Mmm...well next time, give a bit of warning, you almost took my hand off." With that she crouched down and got back to work. William let out a breath and rubbed the spot where the spark came from gingerly.
How was he still able to feel pain? That shouldn't be possible...should it?
If I can feel pain...so can you.
A hushed whisper spoke from somewhere in the depths of his head and the animatronic man stiffened up his hand twitching a bit.
Spring Bonnie...that wretched bot, always coming at the worst times.
You didn't think I would just let you do whatever you wanted after everything did you?
William rolled his eyes a bit looking to the side as Joey resumed her work. Like that stupid rabbit could do anything, he could never stop him. He never did.
Because until you became a part of me I didn't know what you were doing when I was in suit mode! But because of your stupidity now we are constantly stuck between! If you think I'm going to let you-
"I have to go get something from parts and service. I'll be right back." Joey said suddenly, making William turn to look at her. He gave a slight dip of his head in response and watched her leave the room.
His good ear twitched as he listened for her fading footsteps. Then he let out a soft chuckle that made Acid tilt his head, but thankfully the boy didn't say anything.
"Oh Spingy...you do realize that unlike the weak little children, I fully intended for something like this to happen. Perhaps not as gruesome, or as painful, but eventually I would've found a way to be in an invincible state. The opportunity merely presented itself." He took a breath and leaned back against the wall behind him, "now, now, you go and be a good little bunny and stay in your corner. I'll be handling things from here. And...you...you will not interfere." He paused and lifted his gaze to Acid who was gazing on brows furrowed. However, they lifted as he acknowledged his gaze, "no one will." The living man in the room stiffened up at the obvious threat. He merely gave a little nod and rubbed the back of his head looking away.
It was then that Joey returned with a crate full of tools. Tools that William eyed warily.
This was going to be a long process.
However, he grew more wary as she let out a breath and put down the crate turning to leave the office.
"Where are you going?" He asked sitting up more, she paused and looked back at him, with a breath.
"I gotta go talk to the guards, something happened to the Puppet." She said and moved to go out the door again, but Acid came forward and took her arm gently.
"Hold up, what happened?" He asked and she paused before looking at him.
"I don't know, I found him on the floor, I had to check his systems to even make sure he was still alive. He was...but his entire circuitry is damaged, there was also some blunt force damage...I...I don't know, have you seen anyone go past us? Is there another door?"
Acid paused, and William watched as he thought for a moment, then he sighed and opened his mouth, only to be cut off as she continued looking out the office door.
"There was also burn damage...like his circuits had been..electrocuted. High wattage too..." she paused and looked at Acid's bulging pocket. William watched her face and slowly got up, he closed his chest plate and flexed his fingers. She didn't seem to notice him yet, her brow was furrowed and she stared down at Acid's pocket for a moment. "Acid...did yo-" she was cut off as Acid clamped a hand over her mouth, turning her back to him as he brought her into a headlock. She was now facing William, her eyes wide. She grabbed ahold of Acid's arm brow furrowed.
"You were supposed to do it quietly." He growled gazing at Acid, who looked strangely calm for the situation.
She struggled against him yanking and jerking as she tried to escape, but he held her fast.
"Shh...shh easy Joe...easy..." he said leaning in a bit and whispering in her ear. The woman stiffened her eyes widening and glazing over as she fell still. "That's it...good, good girl, now stay quiet for me okay?" William watched on silently, "you're awful clever aren't you? Always have been. Maybe a tad too much hm?" His voice was still low and quiet. She remained completely still, her eyes glassy.
The young Afton smirked and looked up at William. "Don't worry pops...I've got her handled." He released her mouth and leaned down, she did as well. All of her movements were smooth and without fault. He grabbed a wrench and stood up, so did she.
He finally released her and stepped back he held the wrench next to her head, before pulling it back and slamming it against her skull. Andrew giggled and smirked as she collapsed into a heap.
So what did you think of the chapter? Or even Andrew/Acid for that matter? What of William? Or the first appearance of the Spring Bonnie A.I? How do you think they will cover up what happened to the Puppet? Or Joey for that matter?
I'd love to hear what you think!
