Portgas D. Naruto
"What's the point of even coming here?" Asked the first mate of the Whirlpool Pirates as Naruto grinned
He looked at him, "Well no real reason, other than getting some supplies. Aaaand I wanna look around!" He told him with a goofy smile
Rose chuckled, "People may think you're some super scary pirate Naruto but you still act like a kid sometimes!" She told him as they sailed towards Lougetown
On the back of the ship Gem was getting a glass of water as he spotted another ship coming up on them. He then walked over to the railing and adjusted his sunglasses the ship appeared to be unnoticed by the rest of the crew. The barge managed to make its way all the way up to behind the Great Wave as Gem watched a man walk to the front of the ship. "Hey Pirate King!" A man on the ship yelled out
Gem looked back to see if Naruto would answer his call but he noticed that the crew was too busy fooling around on the deck to pay any attention to the ship or the voice of the man. "Sorry buddy, but the captain is busy." Gem simply said back to the man as he grew angry
"What do you mean he's busy! I'm the man who will be the one to take his head and become the next Pirate King! Is that right men?!" The man yelled back to his crew
They all chorused, "Yeah! Our boss the great Newman! The Captain of the Newman Pirates!"
Gem brought a hand to his chin, "The Newman Pirates eh? Never heard of them. But you did say that you wanted to harm my captain, was that right?" Gem asked Captain Newman
"Yes that's right! But if you surrender now I'll consider letting you join the New Pirate King!" Captain Newman yelled back as Gem laughed
"How arrogant are you? My Captain is the King of the Pirates, the strongest man on this earth. You're not even worth his time, and the fact that you just told me you wanted to kill him has given me enough reason to get rid of you." Gem finished as he wiped some saliva onto his pointer finger
The well dressed man then flicked it off at the ship and watched as a huge explosion erupted where the Newman Pirate's ship once was. Gem watched as the Newman Pirates vacated the burning wood which was once their ship and pulled their unconscious captain out of the wreckage.
"Good riddance." The Whirlpool Pirates helmsman spoke as he walked back to the front of the ship to finish his nap
"Hey what the hell was that!?" Reeve yelled out in shock as he felt the hot air from the explosion
Gem looked up from his prone position on the deck. "Hm? Oh it was just some lousy pirates who tried to come after the Captain." He told them simply
"And what'd ya do to em?" Russ asked as he laid his hand on his pistol
Gem faced the marksman, "I did what we all would've done, got rid of them."
Russ then relaxed as grinned, "Perfect!" He exclaimed
"Changing the topic, Lougetown should only be a couple of minutes away so everyone be ready to dock. Oh and Yuri there's a huge variety of spices and salts in Lougetown if you're interested in getting anything." Lucy told the crew and then addressed the cook as the giant man smiled before clasping his hands together
As the crew mingled, Naruto had not looked away from Lougetown as Kiji made his way back over to his captain. "So when do you feel like going back to Dressrosa? You know if we call on all of our forces we can take it back." The fishman told him
"I told you Kiji, they'll kill innocents." Naruto answered the fishman
Kiji closed his eyes, "You know Naruto, I've never seen anyone with a heart as warm as yours. A true pirate wouldn't care for the lives of the people and would do what he wants."
"I know. Ever since I started sailing the Grandline with you, Reeve, Lucy and Russ I asked myself if I even am a pirate." Naruto voiced to his first mate. "I certainly have no desire for treasure or riches. Nor do I care for plundering or stealing. What I've done up until this point has had nothing to do with piracy. I would argue that majority of the pirates on these seas aren't pirates. Like us, they're just people with dreams." Naruto continued but was interrupted by the sudden stopping of the Great Wave
Lucy jumped down from her position at the upper part of the deck. "We're here you two. What're your orders Captain?" She asked Naruto
"I don't have any! All I want is you guys to go and have some fun! Take as much money as you need and go nuts!" He told his crew as a few went off in various directions
Kiji and Lucy stayed with him and Russ began to walk over as well with Kinshiki. "And where might you be going?" Asked Lucy
Naruto smiled, "I'm going to go visit the execution platform and pay my respects." He told them as he saluted and vanished in steam
"Hmm well I'm going shopping! I'm gonna need a fresh take on my wardrobe! You coming Kinshiki?" Lucy asked her fellow crew member
He threw his arms up, "Hai Lucy-chan! But can we go look at swords after?" He asked her
"Of course we can!" She answered as the two ran off
Russ sighed, "Well I might as well get goin' and get some more ammo for my weapons. What'll you be doin' Kiji?" He asked the first mate
Kiji looked back towards the island, "I don't know just yet, but I'll figure out something."
"Suit yourself." Russ voiced as he left the ship
With Naruto. . .
A mass of steam began to form in an alley way nearby until the entire form of Naruto had been created. The Captain of the Whirlpool Pirates quickly brought his black cloak around his body to cover him from the eyes of others and looked around to make sure that no one saw him. He studied the area only to find one little girl standing in the alleyway looking at him with shock as she dropped her ice cream on the ground.
She snapped out of her daze as her ice cream hit the stone ground and she began to pout, "Awww my ice cream." She spoke with a frown as Naruto chuckled
"You know you shouldn't waste food little one!" The Pirate King told her as he walked over to her and ushered her out of the alleyway beside him
She was scared by his touch at first but soon calmed down as he showed her he posed no threat. "Next time make sure not to drop it!" He said as he bent down to eye level with her
Naruto grinned and she smiled at his face. The Pirate King then rose from his kneeling position and tossed a pouch towards her which she caught. The girl opened it to see a good amount of gold coins and she was in awe. "That should be enough to buy as much as you like! Oh but don't tell anyone you saw me!" Naruto finished as he threw over his hood, concealing his face
"You got it Mr. Pirate King!" She smiled as he walked away with a wave
Naruto walked through the streets towards the platform at a casual pace, watching citizens go through their day-to-day lives with smiles on their faces. He then got relaxed enough with the crowd around him that he put both of his arms up and cradled his head as he walked. Eventually he crossed paths with a flower stand on the side of the street and decided to buy a handful of flowers. After which he continued on his original path towards the platform. After a few minutes of walking he had arrived at his father's grave site and then laid the flowers down at the foot of his King of the Pirates then studied the stone tablet with writing above the grave and his fist had clenched.
Here lies Gol D. Roger
A criminal
A madman
A fool
Let this grave and execution platform serve as a reminder to all
"Shows how much they know." Naruto said quietly as he extended his hand towards the stone
Using the powers of the Mizu Mizu no mi, Naruto had worn out the writing on the tablet before he had used the same power again to write something else.
Here lies Gol D. Roger
A dreamer
A father
A free man
Naruto leaned back from the tablet as he admired his handy work and smiled. "I've come a long way dad. Ever since you left me with those words I have dedicated every day of my life to living the way I want to live and following no ones rules. While I've done this I've made lots of friends all over the world, I've found love, and I even have a kid now I think." He said smiling at the last part
"I was mad at you when you left mom and I back then but now it's different. Now I truly understand how brave of a man you were to be able to walk away and die for your family like that. Not a day goes by where I'm not proud to have a father like you." Naruto finished as a breeze blew his cloak to one side and the peddles of the flowers shook around and made it look like they were dancing
The townspeople walking past him from either side began to quiet down for a few moments as Naruto closed his eyes and just focused on the sound of the breeze blowing. The New Pirate King then felt a hand grasp his shoulder, he quietly turned to see no one grasping it but saw some of the peddles from the flowers blowing away in the breeze and to the sky. He watched on with a smile smile as a voice that sounded all too familiar echoed in his mind.
'Thank you son.'
The voice said as a lone tear fell from the young man's eye before he wiped it and smiled. 'No problem dad!' He thought to himself
He stood there silently for another minute or so before Naruto heard another voice, this time to his side. "I know that look, it's one that's almost gotten me killed several times!" An old man voiced as Naruto looked over
Though the man was old, he still had a lot of muscle on his body with quite a few scars littering it. The old man also had shaggy grey hair all tied back in a sort of pony tale. He was wearing a lime green collared shirt with white pants that only went down to his mid shin. But the feature that stood out the most was his sunglasses, being very dark and round.
"I don't believe we met before kid!" The old man voiced as Naruto smiled
"You're right, I don't believe we have gramps!" He said back
Then man chuckled, "Well it doesn't take a genius to know who you are Portgas D. Naruto!" He told Naruto who was a little shocked that the man was so easily able to tell who he was with the cloak covering his face
"Hey wait just who are you old timer?!" Naruto questioned with a tic mark
He laughed, "What Rayleigh didn't mention me?! Well if you must know my name is Gaban! Heard of it?" He asked the younger man as Naruto went wide eyed slightly before grinning
"You were a part of the Roger Pirates weren't you?" Naruto asked the man and he nodded with a grin
"Indeed I was! I was just passing through Lougetown, selling some of my crop from this year when I noticed that cutlass on your belt! I could never forget that sword even if I wanted to!" Gaban voiced to the Pirate King as Naruto laughed. "You know you're pretty far from the New World where the Pirate King should be. Can I interest you in a drink while you're here?" Gaban asked Naruto as the cloaked man nodded
He smiled from under his cloak. "I'd never pass up a chance to drink with someone from my father's crew!" He told Gaban
The man with the sunglasses motioned him to follow. "Come along this way, there's a bar not too far from here that has the best rum in the East Blue!"
The two men then began walking away from the execution platform as in another part of Lougetown a bit of a commotion was stirring. Russ was walking down another street looking for an ammo shop when he bumped into a little girl who was dressed in a classy southern dress.
"Hey watch where you're going mister!" She yelled at him and he just brushed it off
"Be quiet and run along kid." He told her plainly as he continued on his way
The girl went red in embarrassment from being ignored and then yelled back at him. "My daddy will hear about this! Daddy!" She started to yell out as she ran off in search of her father
Russ scoffed to himself, "Annoying kid." He said to himself before continuing on his path
He walked down the street a little bit further before he spotted a gun store. "Perfect, just what I was lookin' for!" Russ stated as he walked into the shop
Elsewhere. . .
"So you really mean to tell me that the Whitebeard Pirates never found Laugh-Tale?" Reeve asked the newest member of the crew
Ace nodded, "Nope, we never went there. At least not while I was on the ship." He answered the younger boy
"Wow, you'd think someone as strong as him would've found it in all of his years of being on the sea." Reeve continued to say to Ace
The Devil-Fruit user shrugged, "Well maybe he did, who knows." Ace countered. "Anyway do you know what the plan is after we leave Loguetown?" Ace continued as he asked Reeve who chuckled
"I thought you would know cause you're the captain's brother! But I have no idea, all I heard was something about Alabasta." The youngest member of the crew told him
Ace stood silent before Reeve talked once again, "Well I mean you are the chore boy, so I wouldn't expect you to know much!" He teased Ace who's face turned sour at the title
"Don't make me roast you!" He yelled back
The continued to walk around as a few men dressed in Marine uniforms recognized the two and then made a call on a transponder snail. "Captain!?" One of them yelled into the snail.
"Fire-Fist Ace and Reeve the Kid are walking around the south end of the town sir!" Another yelled into the snail
The two Marines watched as the snail's brow rose. "Fire-fist and Reeve the kid eh? If they're here then that must mean another, much bigger fish is here as well. I have reason to believe the King of the Pirates is on the island." The voice spoke through the snail
"Really!? What should we do Captain Fongo!?" The two Marines yelled out to the captain
"Come back to base and we will prepare to take him on! I will not let him escape this island alive after he humiliated me in Sabaody! He's the reason I was put in this weak sea! Men he's the key to my promotion and if any of you slip up I'll kill you myself!" He shrieked out as the Marines started to run back to the base
With Naruto. . .
"Wow this looks like it's closed." Naruto voiced as he followed Gaban
The older man laughed, "Nah it's open!" He retorted as they walked in
"The Gold Roger huh? Nice name for a bar I guess." Naruto said as he continued to follow Gaban
Inside they found that the place was very dusty and old with a lot of wanted posters from the time when Gol D. Roger sailed the seas. Naruto looked behind the bar to see and older man who looked ancient cleaning some glasses. "Bar is closed you guys you better get going right now before I get the Marines. . . hey! Is that you Gaban?!"
Gaban laughed, "Raoul you old coot!"
"It's been awhile friend! And who might this be with you?" He asked Gaban
"Why it's none other then the new King of the Pirates!" Gaban answered with a smirk as Raoul fell back in shock
His mouth hung open as he struggled to get back to his feet. "T-The King of the Pirates!?" Raoul began to regain his composer. "You know I once served your successor at this very bar, the first King of the Pirates. It would be an honour to serve you as well!" The old man finished as Naruto took his seat beside Gaban
"Please there's no need to be all star eyed." Naruto told him with a wave of his hand as he sweatdropped
Gaban laughed as he hit the back on Naruto, "Nonsense my boy! You were crowned King of the Pirates! This is something to celebrate!" Gaban finished as the other man in the room poured three glasses of rum
"Here we are friends! To the new era!" Raoul toasted as the three men raised their glasses
"To the new era!" The rest spoke as the glass of each cup clashed together before they drank
With Pedro, Rose and Yuri. . .
"Pedro. . . have you noticed?" Rose asked the mink as he blew some smoke out of his mouth from his cigarette
He nodded, "Marines, they're following us." He said silently to the other two
Yuri grinned and nodded before he cracked his knuckles. "No Yuri, we won't fight them, not if we don't have to." Rose interjected
The tall man had a puzzled look on his face as if he was asking them why not. "If we attack them now we'll start a mass panic, and I don't think the captain had that in mind when he told us to go do what we want." Pedro answered Yuri's visual question
"You're right Pedro. Besides if we go around starting fights then I'll have no time to buy some cool new gadgets that I can craft into some new cool things for us and the ship!" Rose exclaimed with a grin. "I trust you want to get some new spices Yuri?" Rose continued to ask him
Yuri smiled and nodded. "I'd take that as a yes." Pedro explained with a smile as he held his cigarette in his hand
"What are you looking for Pedro?" Rose asked the mink
He shrugged, "Nothing in particular I guess, if I see something worth buying then I'll get it. Personally I want to go and pay my respects to the old Pirate King. He's the one who made me want to go to sea in the first place and I never got to say a proper goodbye to him." Pedro finished as Rose nodded with a smile
"Then go on ahead Pedro, Yuri and I can continue here!" She told him as the muscular man tried to give him a light tap on the back forward but his strength was too much and it knocked the mink flying down the street
Rose chuckled as she sweat dropped. "I think that was a little too much encouragement big guy." She told him as Yuri rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment
The green haired woman watched as Pedro skipped across the ground as he came to a halt but instead of running after him to see if he was okay she looked to her left and gleamed with excitement. "Hey is that a novelty shop!?" She exclaimed with shock
The two then continued about their business as Pedro laid in the middle of the street with a wide open mouth, cringing from the pain of the slap.
Elsewhere with Kinshiki and Lucy. . .
"Lucy-chan I-I don't think I can hold on to this for much longer!" Kinshiki voiced to Lucy as she waved her hand in response
"It's fine Kinshiki, it's not that much!" She said back to him, not bothering to look at the samurai
Everyone around the two gawked at how tall the mountain of clothes, navigation tools, and other things was. What Kinshiki was holding was easily almost as tall as one of the building in Lougetown. "How much did all of these things cost anyway?" Kinshiki asked as he struggled to move forward while still keeping his balance
Lucy laughed a little nervously, "Oh not too much. Let me see." She told him as she brought out her receipt. The piece of paper rolled all the way down the street and the end of the paper was completely out of view when fully rolled out. The people around continued to look on in shock, this time because of seeing a receipt that long. Lucy quickly pulled the end of it back towards them and studied the total amount before she laughed it off. "S-see Kinshiki! It's only like 400 million beli, that's nothing!" Lucy stated as everyone watching the tow faulted from shock
Kinshiki himself started to get a bit wobbly from the amount before Lucy yelled at him. "Kinshiki if you drop that I'll never forgive you!" She told him as Kinshiki immediately straightened out
"H-Hai Lucy-chan! Please forgive me!" The samurai apologized
Lucy was about to say something else to him before she noticed something. "Kinshiki, do you sense that?" She asked him
He shook his head, "It is more of those Marines we encounter in the great sea! I didn't know they were here!" Kinshiki exclaimed with shock as Lucy sweat dropped
"They're everywhere Kinshiki, you've never been to the blue seas so I don't blame you for not knowing that." She told him as he nodded. "I think it's best we keep our distance from them right now." Lucy explained as Kinshiki nodded again
Around half an hour later. . .
"I really must thank you old man! Your bar is nothing short of amazing, even given it's. . .erm. . .interesting interior design." Naruto told the old bartender as he smiled
He nodded, "Thank you for visiting Pirate King! You're the second real pirate I've seen since the times of your father!" He explained to Naruto as the new Pirate King raised a brow
"The second!? Who was the first?" Naruto asked the bartender
Raoul smiled, "His name was Luffy!" He exclaimed as Naruto grinned
Gaban laughed, "You know him!?" He asked the Pirate King
"He's my brother!" Naruto exclaimed happily as the other two smiled
"The world really does have a funny way of working doesn't it!" Raoul voiced
Naruto then turned and began walking away to go join his crew once again as he waved the two men goodbye. "I'll see you two around! Oh and Gaban! Rayleigh is on Sabaody! You said you were looking for him! Anyway I'll see you two there!" Naruto finished as he made his way back out of the twists and turns of the Lougetown allies and back onto one of the main roads
Naruto began to make his way back to the ship before he felt someone walk up behind him with his haki. He stopped moving as a pistol was raised to the back of his head. "Stop it right there! Portgas D. Naruto!" Spoke the new Marine Captain of Lougetown
Knowing he posed no threat, Naruto just smiled to himself and decided to play along. He raised up his hands and removed the hood on his cloak. "You got me Captain, I must admire your skills." Naruto teased but it went under the radar of the Marine
One by one more Marines flooded to Naruto's position as citizens began to look in shock at the sight of the new Pirate King. "You must remember me! From Sabaody! You humiliated me! And for that you will die fiend!" Fongo told the Pirate King as he turned around to face him
"Do I know you?" He asked the Captain as the Marine faulted before standing back up
While all of this was happening Ace and Reeve saw the commotion from down the street and walked over to see what was going on. Ace saw his brother being confronted by a Marine and sighed but Reeve clenched his fist. "That bastard!" Reeve yelled out
"Woah what's gotten into you?" Ace asked from his side as Reeve bursted through the crowd to confront the Marine
Naruto smiled when he saw Reeve walk in front of the crowd. "Oi Reev what's up!" Naruto voiced up to him as Fongo began to get angered
"Shut up Portgas and take this seriously! I'm about to end your life!" The Marine Captain yelled as Reeve pulled his own pistol and aimed it at the Marine
"You shouldn't waste my captain's time scum! He's the King of the Pirates and you're not nearly as strong enough or worth enough to even speak to him!" Reeve yelled out at the man as Fongo switched and pointed his gun at Reeve
Fongo studied him before he chuckled, "Hey I remember you! You're the kid who wouldn't stop crying in the town square on the same day I met Portgas!" Fongo stated as he pulled back the firing pin on the gun
"You killed the closest thing I had to a father that day! You gunned down Yuki and for what?!" Reeve screamed out at him as Fongo laughed
The Marine howled before he spoke once again, "He was a Pirate! Just the same as you are now! The only difference was that he was a fool and a coward! He begged at my feet for his life and mercy!" Fongo laughed as he mocked the late Yuki
It then clicked in Naruto's head on what the two men were talking about in front of him. 'Yuki was the man who was originally going to set out with Reeve on the day I met him!' Naruto thought to himself
"He was a proud man who would never do such a thing! He made a deal that you would take his and spare mine! Don't dirty his name trash!" Reeve yelled out as he countered the Marine's words
"Well you won't be so lucky this time brat!" Fongo yelled as he shot his pistol at Reeve
The crowd looked on in awe as the say that the King of the Pirates had stopped the bullet in mid air with a haki infused palm and then dropped it to the floor. "Never laugh at a man's death!" Naruto yelled as he punched the Marine in the face with the power of the Gura Gura no mi
A crack in the air formed as the captain was sent flying back into a wall and the Marines went back to see if he was alright. Naruto ran up to Reeve and Ace and signalled them to follow him. "C'mon Whirlpool Pirates! Time to leave!" Naruto screamed out into the town
One by one the Pirates ran from their current activities and onto the Great Wave. "C'mon let's go pursue them!" A Marine yelled to his fellow comrades
"No!" They all looked back to see a man standing there
"Vice-Admiral Smoker!?" The all chorused
"Sir we need to go and catch him!" A Marine told the Vice-Admiral as Smoker walked over to the form of Fongo and pulled him out of the wall
The Captain was about to get back to his feet before Smoker punched him on top of the head which knocked his bloodied body to the ground again. "He's on the verge of death from that last attack, get him to the hospital." He ordered as some of the men ran off with Fongo
"Sir! Why aren't we following them?!" Another yelled out
Smoker looked him in the eye, "Because no one except for the Admirals or higher have any chance at harming that man. You forget, he's the King of the Pirates, the strongest there is. You'd be throwing your life away to follow him." He finished talking
"Sir, may I ask why you're back in Lougetown?" A different Marine asked
"I came to get the rest of my things, I already told you that I'm being transferred to G5." Smoker responded as he began to walk away
He took one look back at the Great Wave sailing away in the setting sun and smiled, "Mark my words Portgas, I'll see you in the New World! I'll be training non-stop to be the one to finally beat you!"
High in the sky. . .
"Hm, so it would seem that I have gathered all that I could find on the place I desired to go the most. How disappointing." A man dressed in odd looking pants with a white bandana spoke
He walked out of his quarters and onto the deck of his ship as it flew through the sky. He then looked down slightly at a few islands clustered together in the sky. They were far away but abilities of the mysterious person allowed them to see even though it was a crazy distance away. "There it is, I never thought I would returned but it would seem as though I need a place to stay for the next little while." The figure continued to say
He continued to speak, "For the first time in my life I had trained and unlocked this new ability. A type of Mantra perhaps? But no matter, those fools will fall back in line as the did once before. Skypiea is only around a week or so away. I hope they're all ready to welcome back their God!"
Okay! So that chapter is done! Down to business next up is a return to Alabasta! It'll be like this one were it'll be more oriented on character interactions rather then fighting but do not worry. I believe that the one after the next will have a lot more fights in it. As you can tell from the last little bit of this chapter some things are going to happen! Anyway I hope you all enjoy and don't forger to reach out and ask what you'd want to see! I have heard from some people who would like Robin to be with Naruto and to that I say you got it! Just let me figure out how to do it first!
