Chapter 34: Presents For All

"I can't wait to see the children!" May said excitedly. "Thank you for agreeing to go."

"It's my pleasure." Drew said. "After all, this is just part of our job. And I'm excited to see the children too."

May perked an eyebrow up at Drew. "Drew? Excited?"

Drew chuckled. "I have emotions too, April."

"I know, I know." May said, pausing for a moment before continuing. "Hey! I'm May!"

Drew flicked his bangs. "I know."

May furrowed her eyebrows.

May and Drew are riding in a carriage to the mall. They plan on bringing Christmas cheer to the children. They want their first Christmas as King and Queen to be the best, so they have a special gift for everyone who comes to them in the mall.

May looked away from Drew angrily. After a moment, she smiled.

Drew leaned forward to try and see May's facial expression. He caught a glimpse of her smile. He leaned back and smirked.

"I know that you're smiling." Drew said.

May blushed. "Am not!"

"Are too."

"Am not!"

"Are too."

"Am not! Why would I be smiling when you got my name wrong again?!"

Drew chuckled. "Are too. And because you love me." He said, turning May's head to face him.

May's blush deepened and then she smiled. "Yeah…" she said shyly.

Drew lowered his hand and took May's hand in his other, resting their interlocking hands on the seat of the carriage. He leaned in and gave May a peck on the lips.

"I love you too." Drew said.

May smiled, blushing slightly.

The carriage came to a stop. May and Drew both looked to the right to see the mall.

Drew stood up and opened the carriage door, walking down the steps. May stood up and saw Drew hold out his hand to her, so she gladly took it and walked down the steps.

4 royal guards at the entrance to the mall walked to May and Drew. May and Drew started walking towards the doors with the four guards following behind them.

A guard held open the door and everyone entered the mall before the guard closed the door behind him. As soon as May and Drew entered, people around the nearby stores gasped. They all watched in awe and excitement at their rulers as they walked further inside.

"So, there's a Christmassy area on the first floor where we're supposed to go." Drew said.

"Right." May agreed.

Some people tried walking closer to May and Drew, but the royal guards blocked them off. People took pictures and people waved, so of course May and Drew waved back.

"Everyone, follow us." May said. "We have a special surprise for all of you."

The kids all gasped in excitement and dragged their parents to follow May and Drew. May and Drew soon had a crowd of people following them.

They soon got to a fenced off area with a gigantic Christmas tree that's beautifully decorated in large ornaments, and there's several Christmas yard decorations around like reindeer, Santa Claus, elves, and miniature trees. There's fake snow everywhere.

May and Drew entered the fenced area with the guards blocking the people from entering. "Wow…" May breathed, looking up at the giant tree. "It's so big…"

"Of course it is." Drew said. "It's the mall, after all."

May looked at Drew. "Yeah! Now, let's get this show on the road!" She walked past Drew and faced the crowd gathered around the closed off area. Drew walked to her and faced the crowd as well.

May pulled out her scepter and waved it in the air. "Teleport!" A wireless microphone teleported in front of her from the castle. She took it and put her scepter away.

"Hello, everyone." May said into the microphone. "King Drew and I have a Christmas gift for everyone here."

Her announcement is sounding through all of the mall intercoms. Everyone in the mall can hear her.

"Since Christmas is coming up," May continued. "We want everyone to get into the Christmas spirit. Wherever you are in the mall, feel free to join us at the Christmas display area. There'll be a present waiting for you. And to give you time to get here…" she glanced at Drew.

Drew smiled and grabbed his sword's grip. "Teleport." The grand piano from the castle teleported to the mall behind May and Drew. He released the grip and nodded to May.

May faced the audience. "...we hope you enjoy this song." She finished.

May and Drew both turned around and walked to the piano, sitting on the bench side-by-side. Drew used his sword's power to teleport a microphone to him. They smiled at each other before they started to play the piano with each of them having one hand on the keys and one holding the microphone.

(This song is "I Love Christmas" from Austin & Ally.)

"What's your favorite time of year, can you tell me?" Drew sang into the microphone while turning his head to look at May.

"The one that never gets here fast enough." May sang into the microphone, turning her head to look at Drew.

"Is it fall or spring? A summer thing?"

"Winter is my favorite time because…"

Drew slid off the seat, singing to the audience. "Billion lights are blinking." Both sang. May stood up. "Jingle bells are ringing." She walked closer to Drew. Drew held out his hand to her and she took it, walking with him to the front of the piano. "Everybody's singing. I love Christmas!"

Their song is grabbing everyone's attention and people from all over the mall are going to join the audience. "Santa's almost flying." May and Drew continued. "Lots of ribbon tying. Presents multiplying. I love Christmas!" The people in the audience are moving to the song and cheering. "Ohh whoa. Ohh whoa. Ohh whoa. I love Christmas!"

"You better watch out for that mistletoe they're hanging." Drew sang. "Or you might have to pucker up and kiss someone." He sang, puckering up his lips in the end and leaning towards May. May smiled and ducked, stepping forward and standing up straight, dodging Drew's lips.

Drew stood up straight and stood next to May on the other side. May continued the song. "Friends you know are gonna pray for snow."

May and Drew faced each other. "A winter wonderland's a lot more fun." They sang together. "A lot more fun." They faced the audience. "Billion lights are blinking. Jingle bells are ringing. Everybody's singing. I love Christmas!"

"Santa's almost flying." They continued. "Lots of ribbon tying. Presents multiplying. I love Christmas! Ohh whoa. Ohh whoa. Ohh whoa. I love Christmas!"

"Seems like you gotta wait forever." May sang. "The seasons change. Then here it comes."

"It's magic when it brings us all together." Drew sang. "It just doesn't last long enough. Long enough. Yeah."

People kept gathering at the fenced off area, dancing to the song. "I love Christmas!" May and Drew sang together. "I love Christmas! Billion lights are blinking. Jingle bells are ringing. Everybody's singing. I love Christmas!"

"Santa's almost flying." They continued. "Lots of ribbon tying. Presents multiplying. I love Christmas! Ohh woah. Ohh woah. Ohh woah. I love Christmas! Ohh woah. Ohh woah. Ohh woah. I love Christmas! Ohh woah. Ohh woah. Ohh woah. I love Christmas!" They sang, finishing the song.

Their enormous audience of kids and adults alike started cheering and applauding May and Drew. May curtsied and Drew bowed. They stood up straight and May spoke into the microphone. "We're so glad you could make time to see us over here." The people cheered again. "Alright. Settle down." The applause quieted.

"Our Christmas gift to you is one item of your choosing." Drew said.

They could hear children gasp excitedly.

"And yes, I mean whatever you want. As long as your parents approve of it, of course." Drew said.

The children applauded. May and Drew laughed a little.

"They love it." May said. "Let's get started."

"Right." Drew said. "Everyone, the royal guards will situate you into two lines. Please don't fight over your place in line, or you'll be sent to the back. Understand?"

"Yeah!" Everyone cheered.

"Okay then. Form two lines."

May and Drew watched as the people parted, forming two lines against the fence on opposite sides. The royal guards got the lines straight and single file.

A royal guard stood at the front of the fence entrance and signaled the first person of each line to go. The first people entered the fenced area and walked to May and Drew. A mother and daughter is in front of May and a mother, father, and son is in front of Drew.

"So, what would you like for Christmas, little one?" May asked the girl nicely.

"Ooh! I want a lot of things!" The girl said. "I want a dollhouse, a pony, a bunch of pretty dresses, a pretty tiara-"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa." May cut her off. "Slow it down there. Name one of those."

"Umm...a pony!"

May looked at the girl's Mom. "Is that request alright with you? I would imagine she doesn't have any Pokémon yet."

"You're right. She doesn't." The mom said.

The girl looked up at her mom. "Can I, Mommy? Please?"

"Well…..alright then." The mom said. "But remember to take good care of it."

"I will!"

The mom looked at May. "Are you really able to get her a Pokémon?"

"Of course." May said. She looked at the girl. "Just wait for Christmas and your present from us will be there."

"Yay!" The girl said excitedly.

May looked at the mom. "What would you like?"

"Me?" The mom questioned. "But...this is more for kids, right?"

May shook her head. "We're doing this for everyone. So what can I get you?"

"Oh. Well...I guess the best thing I can think of is that I need a new computer."

"You got it." May pulled out her scepter. "Teleport." A laptop from the electronics store in the mall teleported to the mom and May also made money appear in front of the cashier with a note that says that May is the one that bought something.

The mom took the box. "Wow. Thank you so much, Your Majesty."

"You're welcome. Carry on now." May said.

May and Drew dealt with several more people, buying them whatever they want and teleporting the items to them. Every now and then, kids would want Pokémon. May and Drew are keeping track of who wants a Pokémon and what Pokémon they want, and they're going to send their guards later to go and catch the Pokémon for the kids.

And then there's this person…

"What is it you want most for Christmas?" May asked a nineteen year old boy.

"Well…" the boy started. He smirked. "A kiss would be nice."

Drew immediately lifted his head up after hearing that.

"I'm sorry." May told the boy. "That's something I can't give you."

"But you said you'll give us anything we want." The boy said.

"You can't really expect me to kiss you. If you can't think of anything else you want, then please go and let someone else have a turn."

"But Queen May, if you'll just let me…" he started reaching out for May's hand.

Drew looked at what he's trying to do and he quickly faced them and grabbed the boy's wrist, stopping him from touching May. "Requests like kissing aren't allowed. We didn't think someone would actually try that, so we just said that we'll get them anything. Now please leave." Drew said sternly.

Drew released the boy's wrist. "I don't want to." The boy said.

A lot of gasps were heard from the people. This boy is really talking back to Royalty?

The boy looked at May. "Your Majesty, you'd be better off without him and with me instead. I'll be sure to treat you better than I'm sure King Drew does."

May's eyebrows furrowed and her hands clenched. Drew opened his mouth to speak, but May beat him to it.

"You listen here." May started walking forward with the boy walking backwards. "Drew is the only man that I'd ever want to be with. He makes me happy and he's always there for me. No one, and I mean no one can ever treat me better than he does." Drew smiled. "He's my true love and my soulmate. And no other man can steal my heart quite like him." They both stopped at the fence entrance.

"I'm sure that if you give me a chance-"

"Guards!" May called, cutting him off. Two royal guards rushed to them and took the boy by his arms, dragging him away.

"Wait! I want to be yours!"

May turned around and walked back to Drew. She faced the people and sighed.

"I can't believe him." May mumbled.

Drew smiled. He took a step closer to May and embraced her. May buried her face in his chest, cheeks turning pink. She soon wrapped her arms around him.

"Drew, what's this hug for?" May asked, voice muffled in his military jacket.

They pulled away from each other. "What was that?" Drew asked.

"What was that hug for?"

"Oh. I don't know."

May cocked her head to the side.

Drew chuckled. "I just...wanted to thank you for those nice words you said about me."

May blushed. "Oh...well...you're welcome. You're my husband, so why wouldn't I say those things?"

Drew smiled. "I'm just glad you really didn't kiss him."

May took both of Drew's hands and stared into his eyes, smiling. "There's only one guy that these lips are reserved for."

Drew blushed slightly. "You really shouldn't say these things in front of the children." He whispered.

May laughed and released Drew's hands. She faced the people, only to hear them yell,

"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"

Drew looked at the people too. They could see that most of the people are teenagers. They both sweatdropped.

May blushed and smiled nervously. Drew just smiled, calm and collected. He looked at May. "We don't want to disappoint our fans, right?"

May looked at Drew. "You're kidding, right?"

Drew shook his head. May blushed again. She faced Drew and he started leaning in closer.

They both closed their eyes and Drew pressed his lips against hers, holding her waist. May wrapped her arms around his neck. They heard the teenagers applauding. Why is it that kisses get so much attention like this?

Anyway, May and Drew stayed at the mall for another two hours, getting all of the people a gift of their choice. They ended the day, happily knowing that they made everyone feel that Christmas spirit.
