Vermin Tide Quest

Chapter 34

As Granberia was brought into the pyramid, the Dragon Knight and the Skaven stood in a central spot where some form of door was carved into a pillar of stone, to which some form of magical power flowed into it from the pyramid below, then poured out up top to form some form of pure crystallized magic that encased the pillar. The pillar bore symbols which she did not recognize, and the chamber within was inlaid with gold and expensive jewels, and the Dragon Knight felt the materialistic side of her draconic nature almost take hold of her. She didn't let it, having long since disciplined herself to serve Alice as the Dragon Knight. As the Skit-Slip appeared before her, the Gray Seer pointed a finger at the pillar, which had two halves.

"What-what is this thing?" Granberia did a double upon realizing the Skaven was seriously asking her.

"...What?"

"You heard me-me Lizard-Breeder. What-what is that pillar meant- made for?"

"I don't know! Not a single Monster has been in this city for what, thousands of years." Granberia exclaimed. "You brought me out here in some random ruin that nobody has lived in and forgotten about for who knows how long, to ask me what the pillar is for?" the Dragon pointed at the pillar, keeping her anger down at how the rat man standing before her insulted her.

"You Lizard-Things never forget what-what you create-make these things for." Skit-Slip snarled. "The Lizard-Things always know what they were made for in Lustria-"

"Well this is not Lustira you complete and utter id-" Granberia didn't finish as Gray Muzzle snarled, and struck her in the gut with the butt of his halberd. As she fell down, she then felt a metal clawed hand wrap itself around her head pulled her up to face the Warlock Engineer.

"You think you can speak-squeak to your betters Lizard-Thing!?" the cyborg rat growled. He then turned as Skit-Slip raised a hand. "Tell-speak how to unlock-open the Lizard-Thing thing now-now, or I'll make-make you!"

"Gray Muzzle, I'm the leader-ruler of this expedition, and thus this is my purview-expertise!" he snapped at the Warlock. Gray Muzzles' eyes conveyed a scowl, as the two stared at each other. Granberia could feel the fractious air that arose as the Skaven soldiers in the area tensed up, seeming to expect something to happen. However, Gray Muzzle released the Heavenly Knight of Fires' head, and scoffed. As he turned away, an explosion caused everyone in the pyramid chamber to stop and pause. Gray Muzzle walked out with a telescope, while the other Skaven dragged Granberia and the Wolf Girl slave with them to see what was going on. As Gray Muzzle brought it to his eye, another explosion could be heard, and a plume of green fire shot into the sky. When the Warlocks' hands started to shake as he looked around the city as the sounds of fighting could be seen all around, then lowered the telescope and turned to Skit-Slip.

"We have an Order Man-Thing." he said. With that, Skit-Slip made a chittering noise.

"Get your Skyre Weapon Teams out then, and kill-kill it!"

"That-that is the thing. That's is where the Weapon Teams are. I spotted five more just sweep-looking elsewhere."

**POV SHIFT**

As the Solkanite warrior tore through a formation of Clan-Rats, every swing his sword sent limbs and gore flying in multiple directions, often splattering over the panicking rat men as their weapons clacked and smacked against his blessed armor uselessly. Even as he tore through them, the Skaven surrounded him, trying to overwhelm the servant of Order and its Law with pure numbers. However, he was a storm amidst them, moving forward to the Lizardman pyramid, his goal in sight and given to him by Solkan, even if he did not understand why he and the four others sent here were told to do as they were told. The rambling Magus of Alluminas who gathered him and the others to bring them here had just performed his first task, and was likely already moving on to his second.

A roar drew his attention, and the warrior saw a Rat Orge coming at him from behind, the follower of the Fist of Retribution immediately ducked as it leaped at him. As the creature sailed over him, the man stabbed the beast, and it squealed while the sword was pulled out of his hands. Cursing with anger, he jumped onto the mutated Skaven beast as soon as it landed on top of its kin and squashed them, and wrapped his arms around its neck. Gagging, the Rat Orge grabbed at his arms and tried to pry them off, but the man did not relent as he felt his hate for Chaos empower his strength, causing the Rat Orge to cry out and slam into a hut, breaking through the wall and out the other side. The man felt pieces of the wall rain down onto his head, but held on regardless. As it smashed through the other wall, the Rat Orge barreled into something, likely some Skaven contraption as the man growled as he heard wood splinter followed by high-pitched screeches from the Skaven. With a roar, he managed to grab unto the beasts' lower jaw with one hand, and quickly made a twisting motion. While he didn't snap the beasts' neck like he planned, he was able to break its jaw, causing the Rat Orge to squeal as he let go, run away from its back and then kicked it in the back of the knee. As the creature fell back, it crashed unto the ground as its weight unbalanced the creature. He then punched its rib cage from the side, and the beast cried out as the man felt bone breaking. As a meaty arm slammed into the Solkanite, he was sent flying down the street. Grunting in pain from the impact, he slowly got back up and fought through the pain as he struggled to stay up despite his broken arm and the injuries to his chest. When he looked up, a Skaven Assassin was flying at him, with several more of the cloak and dagger-wielding rat men rushing towards him.

"Die-die Man-Thing! Fear the mighty- GAH!" it cried out, when a bolt of light shaped into a harpoon speared the Skaven, impaling it as it fell. The Solkanite turned to see that it was another Law-Bearer bearing the unmistakable glowing light of Alluminas. At least, what little that glowed underneath the skein of shifting rainbow crystal that resembled more of a stylized image of a woman. It had only a basic shape, and the 'limbs' of the crystalline entity that approached the wounded man ended in points where its hands and feet should be.

"What happened to the rambler?" the Solkanite asked, as the being helping him placed a hand on his shoulder, and glowed with a emerald aura. When it faded, the man had no pain, and his body was mended. It then turned as the other Skaven scurried away to avoid the magic-caster, while the Rat Orge roared in defiance. The Aluminain simply responed by firing a beam into its head, which blew it apart.

He frowned, remembering why he hated conversing with the Living Lights' servants.

"Where have they gone?" he said, running over to the dead Rat Orge and pulling out his blade.

"Of course you did. By spooking them with sending a message to those... whatever they are, the Skaven would try to lose them by running to Gelt and Teclis." he muttered. Gods, such a pain conversing with Alumminas' servants. Either they mutter and babble incoherently, or it's a bunch of noise you have to sift through mentally... he thought with annoyance, before moving on to deal with the Gray-Seer and Warlock Engineer.

As he ran through the city, occasionally slaying the odd Skaven here or there that did not get distracted by the others. The most threatening thing he encountered were another Rat Orge, and this one was dispatched through him get the jump on it and stabbing it in the head when he jumped from a building he climbed to scout out where to go and found it sleeping in the open despite the chaos going on around it. When he got to the east gate, the Gray Seer turned and saw the Solkanite, assembled with a red-headed woman that was the Dragon Knight Granberia, and a Monster that was in the form of a wolf girl hybrid. As the Skaven turned around to face him, the glowing golden barrier that was erected to keep them from escaping glowed, and twisted in irregular patterns.

"You! You think you can just come here and take on me-me!? I am the mighty Skit-Slip, and I am-"

"One very dead rat." the man said, his voice a low growl. Skit-Slip growled, and began to chant and murmur as he channeled a spell. Granberias' eyes widened, as instead of trying dodge the attack, the man allowed the Gray Seer to launch it at him. As it was fired out in the form of a ball of blackish fire, she shouted out to him.

"WHAT THE HELL!? DODGE?!" he did not and instead raised his sword as though to cut it in half, and it exploded upon striking his sword, covering the area with the unreal flames of the Warp.

**POV SHIFT**

Granberia felt her heart drop as the man was struck by the missile that was fired at him. What was the point in all of that if he was just going to die right there? However, she then noticed that the Skaven wizard did not relax, instead growling as his minions gathered around him. After a moment passed, a burst of white light shone, which pushed back the flames as it formed a bubble. In the center of the bubble, the man that just appeared stood unscathed, his sword glowing as if made from pure light as he raised it into the air. Upon it dimming, the bubble expanded and put out the rest of the flames. Skit-Slip growled. When he charged at the Skaven, Gray Muzzle fired off a round from his pistol, which struck the armored man in the chest and blasted him back several feet.

"You and your fellow Order-Things are always a pain to deal with! Kill-kill it now-now!" he screamed. "Kill-kill it now-now!" the Gray-Seer yelled, then brought an amulet out from a pocket, and pointed to the Wolf Girl. "Bring that one to me-me!"

"What? Granberia, help me!" the Wolf screamed as the Skaven holding her down began dragging her to Skit-Slip, but as soon as the Dragon Knight tried to move, she felt something jabbed into her back. She then let out a pain-filled scream as it sent an electric shock and fell convulsing with

The man was immediately tearing through the Stormvermin that was sent to stall him, but as they were meant to keep therein case Granberia and the Wolf Girl tried anything, a number of Thing Catchers were there as well and began to run at him. It was not even when the first few casualties fell and struck the ground that their catchers began snapping around his legs, and several tried to pull him in different directions. However, the man did not bulge, and his armor protected his flesh from the spikes that would've pierced it. As he kicked one of his legs out, it broke the various catchers and he followed up with a slash that tore through the horde of Skaven cannon fodder.

During this, Skit-Slip carved a symbol on the ground with the butt of his staff, which then glowed as he began to channel a spell through it. Taking advantage of the distraction, Granberia and the Wolf Girl glanced at each other, then simultaneously headbutted the Skaven holding them. Gray Muzzles' head jerked towards the two Monsters as they ran, while the Human warrior saw them running towards him.

"Beasts! Burn in the Warp!" he screamed, as he charged at them with his sword raised, and Granberia realized he was going to attack the Monster that was with her.

"Look out!" she yelled, and tackled the Wolf Girl, out of the way, then raised her scaled arm to block it. The warriors' sword then smashed into her limb, and Granberia buckled underneath the strength of the attack, while deflecting the sword away from her. As she did so, the tip slashed her cheek, causing the Dragon Knight to flinch, and was knocked back by the warrior with a shoulder slam. When she hit the ground, Granberia grunted, and felt that several of her scales were broken from the strike, along with a flash of pain that she was sure meant that at the very least her arm bones were broken.

"Granberia!" the Wolf Girl screamed, drawing the mans' attention. It was then that the ground cracked and shook, a dust cloud being thrown up which made all sides turn to see what it was. As the dust settled, Granberia recognized that it was Tamano, along with three more Monsters. One of them, a Succubus Witch in yellow robes and holding a spell book immediately cast a spell which surrounded the Human in several chains made of black energy that launched him into a wall and bound him there, while Tamano ran over to Granberia with two Kitsune, one with two tails and the other with four examining her. upon seeing this, the Gray Seer howled, an unholy screech as he fired a blast of Warp Fire from his mouth towards the two Knights, while Gray Muzzle charged the Solkan blessed warrior.

**POV SHIFT**

The Kitsune Heavenly Knight of the Earth had quickly assessed the situation within mere seconds upon seeing the Skaven broken and running. It had taken awhile, but after one of the 'Gutter Runners' as they called themselves was captured by Alma Elma after trying to stab her in the back, Tamano had her aide Feria interrogate the Skaven assassin. They were drawn to the smoke, thinking another village had been attacked by the creatures there, until they came upon the ruins, and thus Granberia being held prisoner.

Tamano raised a barrier of rock which blocked most of the Warp Fire coming towards her and Granberia, while her followers dodged away from it. The Imp was forced to fly back and away from the flames, while Gray Muzzle ignored the flames that raged around him with his halberd ready to stab into the Human. As the Imp flew away from the fire, she was forced to release him, and the Human roared as he slapped the Skaven engineers' weapon away from him. Tamano then activated a paper talisman from the depths of her kimono, and threw it at the Gray Seer.

Seemingly sensing its purpose, Skit-Slip tried to bat it away with his staff. However, upon touching it, the talisman exploded into a cloud of acrid smoke, causing the Skaven wizard to cough and sputter. When the nine-tailed fox turned to the Human, she then heard a war-cry, and turned to see a knight dressed in similar armor to the one that attacked Granberia. However, where the man wore a set of ice-blue and white armor, he had on a more elegantly designed suit which was painted in similar pale green and blue tones, and looked more like the suit of armor that silent knight accompanying Leopold wore.

"Burn in the Warp like the filthy you beast you are!" he yelled in anger brandishing a two-handed battleax that hummed with bright energy. Tamano managed to grab the shaft of the ax before it fell upon her however, and the knight responded by trying to shoulder-charge her. Upon impacting her body, the Kitsune shoved back while channeling the power of the Earth, and a loud crack was heard as the man was bounced off of her. The ax slipped out of his hand, which Tamano kept in one hand as she turned to see Granberia being given a small vial by her attendants while the knight crashed into a wall. A clashing of steel drew her attention to see the other Human engaged with the Skaven engineer, their weapons in a bind while the Imp that came with the Kitsune was distracting Skit-Slip, the smoke the talisman she threw offending his senses starting to dissipate. With a dash, she grabbed the Gray Seer by the throat with her free, causing the Skaven to bulge his beady red eyes outward and gag.

"Now that the Human that tried to attack me is down, and your rat-men have scattered, I-"

"RRAAAAGH!" Tamano turned to see the knight charging at her, having apparently picked up a large stone the size of a melon after clearing out of the rubble. As he roared again, he proceeded to swing it downwards, intending to smash it into her head.

"I'm going to split your head open with-" he stopped when the Fox Knight of the Earth channeled her powers into her head, causing the rock to shatter against her skull into dust. A second passed, as all around stopped and stared at the two. "Eh?"

Tamano stared at the man, while Skit-Slip could be heard wheezing in an attempt to point and laugh at him, only to be silenced with a tightening of her grip. After sighing, she hooked the man by the ankle with the ax, and pulled it out from under him. The knight exclaimed, and when he looked up, it was to see Tamano about to hit him with the back of the ax, causing him to cry out. It was then she sensed something coming at her from the side, and swung the ax at them. When she did, it was to see a strange magic missile in the form a white orb impact the ax. Upon doing so, the energy ball exploded, causing a blinding flash of light which made Tamano recoil and yelp. As she curled up into a ball with her tails, then shrunk to make herself a smaller target, she felt a blast of heat indicating that some form of beam followed suit, while the Monsters that came with her ran and jumped to get away. During this, she was forced to let go of Skit-Slip, and already he scrambled to get away from the fight.

However, as the Skaven ran, Tamano shifted back to her normal size to see another magic attack in the form of a beam of light hit the Gray Seer, sending him flying back with a shrill scream. When she turned to see who it was that appeared, she saw some form of feminine crystalline entity. The sight of it made the ancient Monster pause, as she tried to comprehend what the hell it was seeing was looking at.

"What are you?" Tamano muttered, as it stared at her with eyes that glowed brighter and brighter.

*POV SHIFT*

"After him! We cannot let that practitioner of Black Magic get away!" Victor yelled, as he ran after the purple haired boy. With him, Kruber could be heard with his armor clattering and banging, while Bardin was the closet to the running heretic. As the boy ran, Saltzpyre felt his blood boil at the thought of the Chaotic artifact the boy carried with him and currently handed off to his co-conspirator, no doubt the product of one blasphemous ritual or another. Even so, he simply had no choice but

"Victor, I can't up!" Kruber gasped, visibly sweating. "I shouldn't have gone out wearing so much of my armor. Taals teeth, fuck me."

"Markus, do not say that around these wolves in sheep's clothing!" Victor cried out in horror. At that, they saw a dust cloud, with a figure at the head of it. As they ran past the boy and into Bardin hard enough that the Dwarf fell over with cry that was cut off on impact, Victor and Markus stopped. Due to the dust, it took a few seconds for them to register the silhouette of the newcomer when they stopped, and the dust blew into the faces of the two men.

"By Sigmar, see what you have done and- wait, is that a... NORSCAN?! HAVE AT THEE FOUL CREATURE!" Saltzpyre exclaimed, and charged the figure rapier at the ready. "RRAAAGGH!"

"Victor, wait!" Kruber yelled as the Witch hunter disappeared into the cloud of dust screaming at the top of his lungs. A second passed, then several punching sounds were heard followed by Victor grunting and yelping with each impact. When the dust cleared, Markus immediately saw two things:

First, that Victor was on the ground face down. Second, the Norscan man who was now glaring at Kruber had a crown on his head. At realizing that who he must be staring at was of noble birth somehow, Kruber made a number of hoarse sounds that were caught in his throat, and shirked back into his armor at the sight, while the royal before him walked menacingly towards him, looking more like an angry Orc then a man by the second.

*Several minutes later*

*BGM: Skyrim Opening music*

As Saltzpyre awoke to the sound of wheels churning, pain causing him to groan, he found himself looking at Sienna, who was lying on the ground.

"Ah, you're awake." Sienna said in a deadpan manner, her voice sounding off. Saltzpyre stared at her for a moment, and realized something was wrong when he was unable to move, and knew he did not in fact put iron cuffs back on her wrists.

*BGM ends*

"Wait wha- ow, why can't I move?! OW!" Victor screamed, as he felt himself get bounced up and down. As he looked around, he realized he and Bardin were wrapped in full body casts, and Victor himself laid in a hammock in a prison carriage "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE NOW WITCH!?" He shouted at the Bright Wizard when Kruber replied in her place.

"Literally nothing Saltzpyre. We just got captured by the citys' patrol, after the king of this city slammed into Bardin, then beat you down into the dirt and I had to back down at that point. We were only allowed to keep our weapons after that Monster we attacked convinced them to not take them away from us, but they were locked in that chest there." the Trooper explained. As he did so, he pointed to the Dwarf Ranger, who was lying on a blanket that was laid on the ground, and a chest that was locked up tight, with Siennas' staff laid on two hooks.

"So, are you going to calm down now? Your shouting is grating to my ears." a feminine voice said, which made Victors' eyes widened upon hearing it. When he turned his gaze to the left, he saw the Monster that was with that boy he was chasing down earlier, along with said Human, now carrying that... thing in his hands. She was still in Human guise, and stared at the Humans and Dwarf with a steely gaze. Victor stared at the two, and the boy seemed to be unnerved somewhat.

"I imagine the king of this city is fully aware of what you are, considering you are not in this cage with us, and have you been hiding your knowledge of the Imperial tongue this whole time?" Saltzpyre snarled back. The Monster said at him with a piercing gaze, which did not make him flinch in the slightest. He had seen his fair share of horrors from the Skaven in his years of service, enough to make lesser men run in terror, the gaze of some mutant was but a pale shadow compared to them.

"No, but I was not the one who burned a lawfully established Mermaid Pub, nor drew the anger of the King of Sabasa with attempted murder. As for how I learned your language, my servants in Hellgondo figured it out after a regiment of soldiers from your Empire led by the one you call Balthazar Gelt have taken my Castle, and acquired the knowledge of your language from the mind of one of them." the Monster retorted with built-up annoyance in her voice. Upon her saying this, the Humans stared in confusion.

"What do you mean your Castle in Hellgondo?" Kruber asked. With a sigh, the Monster replied, looking up at the sky for a moment, as though noticing something. When she looked back at the Imperials, her expression softened.

"You have spent some time with those zealots in Ilias Kruez right? Then you most know about how the Monsters are led by one Lord, or at least they are meant to be." the Monster said. Upon confirmation in the way the Imperials stared at each other, she spoke up again. "I am that Lord, Alice Fateburn the 16th of my linage."

"...Sigmar damn it. That means I could've irrevocably crippled your beasts on day one had your thrall not stopped me from putting a bullet in your skull." Victor muttered in anger. Alice on her part seemed offended by the reaction, expecting more fear perhaps, or even awe.

"Unfortunately, that would only make a tense situation worse. I've been trying to rein in the more... excessive aspects of the disparate Monsters, a task my mother and her mother before having doing over the course of the past few centuries. Like any other nation, in this world or yours no doubt..." Victor and Kruber glanced at Alice darkly her suggestion. "...there are those who are actively trying to sabotage the works of my predecessors. You must understand what I am saying."

"Oh, and I suppose you want to sit down and drink tea with the Supreme Patriarch, and tell him it was a misunderstanding that your Monsters have been hunting Humanity and feeding on it." Sienna countered, and it was then Saltzpyre noticed the way her speech was slurred.

"What have you done to her?"

"I had to seal her power temporarily with Angel Halo. This is not an artifact of Chaos as may believe, but a tool that was created specifically for pacifying my subjects without killing them." Alice said, gesturing to the boy who was carrying the Chaos artifact. "Luka here is someone who I found interesting, due to having some ideas that made him interesting, including." the boy turned to Alice, his eyebrow raised when he saw she talking about him.

"Oh, and what ideas are they? The dedication of this world to the Ruinous Powers perhaps happens to be one of them?" Saltzpyre asked sarcastically. As Alice frowned, Luka spoke up to the Monster Lord. A moment of conversation passed between them, and when Alice turned to look at the captured Heros of Ubersreik, she spoke up.

"The Gods of Chaos, from what little I have seen, are not known to me or the people of this world Witch Hunter, and with what I have seen of them, they are a threat to both our worlds." it was then that her face grew into a more serious one.

"That is why I'm asking you to help me undo the mess we have found ourselves in. With Gelt tying down my Knights, and a number of political enemies of mine taking advantage of their not helping enforce my law, Chaos is only going to fester and grow stronger. You and your fellow Imperials are the only ones in this world who even has anything inkling of what is coming, and we are in need of you to help us prepare for their incursion."

"And how do you plan on doing that?" Victor was at this point growing tired of this creature and her continual tirades.

"Well, to start with, I want you to cease your hunting of my subjects, and help me get back to Hellgondo to start diplomatic talks with Gelt." At that, the Humans stared at her like she said the sky was purple, and the sun was made of melting wax.

"You're serious." Markus said incredulously. "After all the shit heaping your kind have done, you now thought of peace talks?" Alice shot a glare at the State Trooper, when they saw the King of Sabasa approaching.

"You have an Elf in your retinue, and she has more then done her fair share of fighting alongside you. Even then, you seem to avoid her."

"She is also not an Elf from this world, and from ours. The Wood Elves of Athel Lorens are fickle creatures that will just as soon cut the throats of your 'subjects' in their sleep without so much as a warning for intruding in their forest as they would show them out, and that's assuming they did not get turned into a pincushion by the sheer amount of arrows said Wood Elves will let fly in their direction if a Monster is spotted walking into it. And trust me, having sex with a Human is something that likely disgusts her on a level that makes our very overt feelings towards laying in the same bed as one of your kind tame in comparison. Especially with what happened in the city of Ubersreik." Victor said.

"Ubersreik?" Alice asked. Victor seemed to realize he had let his mouth slip out the world, and immediately spoke up before she could inquire further.

"Yes, and that is all I have to say, Mi'Lord." the Witch Hunter said, putting as much venom in the title as he could when he pronounced it. Alice was clearly insulted by it, but when Luka said her name, he then proceeded to say something to her, which made the Monster Lord calm down.

At that point, the King of Sabasa came within earshot, his grim demeanor made all the more intense by the sheer pillar of muscle and sinew that was his body. As they continued walking to the Sabasa family castle, the man cast his gaze upon the Imperials and their Dwarf comrade, inspecting them with a tranquil fury that was frankly more unsettling for them then if he was roaring at them. After doing so, he looked at Alice and Luka, and seemed to ask something of them. Alice then replied in return, before looking back at the Imperials.

"Lazarus and his band of zealots have scattered and disappeared before the city militia could find and arrest them. As it stands, that means they have left you behind." at that, Victor laughed.

"We actually made an arrangement for just this kind of situation In the event we were captured by your kind, Ilias Kruez would, instead of trying to free us, Lazarus and his band would go underground, gather enough resources to leave, and then evacuate the city without us." the Witch Hunter countered. After a moment passed, he spoke up once more.

"On that note, I would like to know how the Supreme Patriarch has been doing since he was evidently trapped in the middle of your lands. I imagine he has carved the name of the Empire thoroughly into the minds of your Monsters by now, and reaped Humanities' vengeance upon your kind." Alice visibly twitched, and the Imperials realized that Saltzpyre managed to strike a nerve. As her fist clenched, the Monster Lord made a huffing sound and walked away from the prison carriage.

"It looks like your charm hasn't been lost yet Victor." Kruber remarked.

"The temptations of Chaos comes in many forms Kruber, and I have longed prepared myself for all of them. Regardless, the Supreme Patriarch himself truly is in that accursed land known in this world as Hellgondo, then we must find a way to communicate to him and combine Ilias Kruez with those State Troopers under his command, even if he is a practitioner of magic. The time and situation calls from it."

"How do you know they are truly there?" Sienna asked.

"When I taunted her about Gelt being in Hellgondo, Alice grew genuinely angry with me." the Witch Hunter pointed out. As the castle of Sabasa cast its shadow over the Imperials, they steeled themselves for whatever they were to subjected to, no doubt involving torture for information about where Lazarus and his men are and what they'd be doing now.

"Alice, what's wrong?" Luka asked, seeing the Monster Lord was genuinely angered by that final exchange between her and Victor. Right now, she was keeping up her stoic face now that she was away from the man, but the boy could tell that last line was something that got under her skin when he saw her expression. So it caught him off-guard when they went down an alley-way, and she turned around all of a sudden.

"I swear, I was this close to wringing the neck of that one-eyed bastard!" Alice exclaimed, showing her fore finger and thumb nearly touching each other. "I brought up how Balthazar and his men have been hunkered down in my castle, and Victor all but praised Balthazars' actions in Hellgondo, and I can just tell if I mentioned Erubetie and what happened to her, he would jump with glee if it wasn't for his injuries."

"What?" Luka said, as Alice was visibly trying to restrain herself. As he thought back on what Lazarus said, he swallowed down the knot that formed in his throat. He could see how the Imperials may not bat an eye when Alice introduced and revealed who she was, but to actually try and get such a visceral reaction from what was the strongest member of the Monsters races by praising the actions of men like Balthazar Gelt? That was practically suicide!

"At this point, I can't tell what their game is." Alice suddenly said, breaking Luka out of his train of thought.

"Who?"

"The Imperial Gods. They have not taken any overt actions against us, but neither have they tried to rein in their followers ever since they have been appearing. Morr is willing to take those who die into his realm, but for some reason is not willing to communicate to his priest in Gelts' army to have Balthazar stop with his actions. Just what is their end-goal, and what do they want from us?" Alice explained, as she placed a frustrated hand on her forehead. "I don't understand them."

"Well, at this point, the Imperials have dug their own hole, so we can only go to the Sabasa Pyramid and-"

"Wait." Alice interrupted, and Luka realized that an idea formed in her head.

"Alice, you have something to share?" Luka inquired.

"Well, we have to establish something in common with the Imperials in order to convince them I am sincere in my reaching out to them." Alice explained. "And I might have an idea for doing just that."

*POV SHIFT*

"Now then, we are here. I welcome thee to my home, Lady Village." Cassandra said, waving an arm out to the buildings in question as it came into view. The Sorcerer gazed out with his milky-misted eyes wordlessly while his acolyte Lily took note of the layout of the village. Emily and Vera the Spider-Maid was with her as they both stared at the two Humans with distrust in their eyes, and concern for how willfully Cassandra was letting them in on their secret.

"This village is quite out of the way and isolated... which makes it perfect for our purposes." the man said. Cassandra nodded.

"Yes indeed. It's part of why I have been gathering those who have views about the state of affairs with Monster-kind like mine. Among the things I have done, the Monsters here will obey me and my word. Is there anything you need to prepare? I have a number of occultist tomes and summoning rituals in the village library."

"What about prisoners, specifically Heros dedicated to Ilias?" Lily asked. Cassandra hummed as she considered the question. After a moment passed, she turned to the woman and replied, noticing the Sorcerer seemed preoccupied with something, as his raven seemed to whisper something into his ear.

"Dead or alive? Their semen is blessed to become disgusting to Monsters, so we have a policy of killing them and burying their bodies in the crop fields to fertilize our soil." Lilys master then widened his eyes.

"How often do necromancers in your world come here, and how would they raise the dead?" he asked.

"Not many, especially Monsters since we could easily overwhelm them. I'm sure we could fight off any from your world. As for how they raise the dead, it is more a scientific then magical process. While magic is involved, most of the process involves them using alchemical processes and a knowledge of the body you are using to bring it to life."

Meanwhile, in the lands of the Empire of Man

YOU WILL SUCCUMB TO MY WILL, MORTAL! THEN THIS WORLD AND THE NEXT WILL BE MINE! NOW LET ME OUT! The Lich known as Nagash howled in rage from the crown he wore when he last had a physical body stored in the deepest vault of the Temple of Sigmar, while a Warrior Priest sat next to the closed door to the chamber it was in was reading a chapter in one of the many scriptures dedicated to the Patron God Sigmar. As Nagash continued to howl in impotent fury, the man simply looked at the vault door, and began to repeat a prayer chant to Sigmar to give himself strength to resist the Arch-Liches influence.

Back in Lady Village

"One of the biggest enemies to the Chaos Gods and thus us their servants happens to be those who practice necromancy in our world." the man said. "Trust me, the last thing you would want is one of them finding this village if there is an entire field of corpses."

"How come?"

"Our necromancers bring the dead to life through sheer force of will using the same magics that we Sorcerers of Chaos wield, but combined with Death Magic to give them the power to puppeteer the dead. Some of the most powerful have even been known to animate and ride the skeletons of ancient Dragons into battle, and many a Chaos Warband underestimate just how dangerous a dozen or even fewer students of Necromancy can be, only to find an inglorious end surrounded and swarmed by an endless and undying horde of zombies, skeletons, ghosts, and other such things. In fact, the Undead are considered by a threat to the world by our enemies as great as Chaos, due to their capability to grind almost any opposition."

"Really? Can you give an example?" Cassandra asked.

"Well, there were what the Empire of Man calls the Vampire Wars. They were a series of battles that took place due to three different invasions by a group of Vampires known as the Von Carsteins." Emily then groaned at the thought of the man about to give another tale of a world that frankly, she couldn't give less of a shit about after he droned on and on like a geezer despite her earlier misgivings about him and his creepy aura. So what if there were big, smelly, green-skinned man-shaped creatures that call themselves Orcs that gather into large hordes to burn and loot out of sheer joy and pleasure? They weren't running around here, so there was no reason to even be scared of them.

"Why must we listen to some history lesson from another world about how dangerous some corpse-raising Humans and Vampires are? We can easily just dissolve them or burn them into ash." Cassandra then glared at her child.

"Hush now!" she snapped, surprising the Scylla. Emily had been chastised before, but not with the sheer anger her mother had.

"Wah!" As she stepped back, her attendant Vera came up and embraced her shoulders from behind. When the Spider-Girl looked at the two servants of Chaos, Lily openly smirked at her and Emily, while the Sorcerer who was her master was more restrained, the only sign of being amused was the subtle uptick of his mouth before settling back to a neutral face. By the time Cassandra looked back at them, Lily had put up a mask of stoicism, acting as if she wasn't reacting.

"I'm sorry for the rude behavior of my daughter, but may you continue your account?" the Amoeba asked, as she turned back to her guests. As they entered the village, several of the Monsters in disguise as women of sophisticated status could seen walking about in fine dresses and many also had a parasol for the sun. Most could be seen examining the man and woman Cassandra brought with her, and a few could be seen obviously curious about the newcomer. One of them, a maid with blue hair walked up to Cassandra.

"You've returned earlier then expected my Lady, and you've brought guests as well." the maid observed as she gave a curtsy to the Amoeba. When she looked up at the leader of Lady Village, Cassandra gestured to the two Humans.

"It is good to see you Ran. As for my guests, this charming young woman here is Lily, mayor of what used to be Witch Hunt village and our elderly gentleman is... uh, what is your name?" the man laughed with a surprisingly light and amused chuckle. When he replied, he scratched his neck.

"I forgot my name a long time ago wandering my homeland of Norsca." When he said this, Ran and the other Monsters looked at him in confusion.

"Norsca? There is no such land name as such." Ran replied.

"That is because I'm not of your world." the old man said. "Just as this village is not a human village, nor are you loyal to Lord Alice, 16th of her name." Ran stared at the old man, then frowned as she looked at Cassandra, while several of the Monsters who heard this started whispering.

"Have you told him about our secret?" Ran asked of her master.

"Yes, but you need not worry Ran. He is the one I left the village to find, and this Human has more to him then meets the eye." Cassandra replied.

"What could we possibly get from this man, that we cannot take for ourselves? And what does he mean by saying he is from another world?" A Monster replied, this one a Succubus that was wearing a blue dress that accentuated her figure.

"Among other things, the backing of four Gods who have become interested in this world and its people. Gods that are more then willing to offer their services by giving us resources for our plans to bring back the traditions and prosperity that we Monsters enjoyed until the Fateburns became soft in their dealings with Humans." Cassandra explained. Ran raised an eyebrow, while her subordinate Spider-Maid stamped several legs in place with a nervous expression.

"What can they provide then, from this land you call Norsca?" with that, the Sorcerer smiled conspiratorially.

"I have a plan to demonstrate what kind of aid the Dark Gods can give you. But first, I will be in need of a sacrifice, a living male Human perhaps whose mind has not been broken by your ministrations and 'care'."

"And why would we ever give you that?" Vera asked. In response, the Sorcerer showed produced a dagger from his cloak, and proceeded to cut his hand with it to dribble a small amount of blood on the ground. The Monsters watched as his blood stopped and began floating in the air as a small ball while he showed the wound healing without so much as a scar. As he spoke, it turned into a rusted blade, though there were still pieces where the organic medium it was formed from was unaltered.

"The Dark Gods operate on a... basis of quid pro quo. That is, they never give their gifts without expecting something in return, and exchanging an unblemished sacrifice will curry much favor for the one who provides it." with that, he made a gesture, and the blood-blade flew out into a bush, where a cry of pain was heard. When one of the Monsters, this one a surprisingly thin and dainty blonde-haired and ruby-red eyed Minotaurus that reminded the Sorcerer of the Beastmen went to see what it was, she suddenly pounced on the eavesdropper after taking a closer look.

A few seconds of screaming and panicking later, and the Monster came out with a Gutter Runner, with a wound in its side where it got hit by the Sorcerers' attack. As the Skaven was carried by the scruff of its neck at least three feet or more with one hand, Cassandra scowled.

"Well now, I don't remember you being here. I supposed you are one of the Skaven I've been hearing about running about Sentoria? Just how did you manage to find this place, and not get caught?" the Nereneid questioned. The Skaven hissed in defiance, and it was then that she turned to the Sorcerer.

"I had a suspicion we were being followed, likely a scout who was tracking you for one reason or another. I didn't react until now so as to see what it would do. As it turns out, this one is alone, likely meant to find places like this and scout out its defenses."

"We're the-"

"Yes yes, 'Skaven will rule the world and are superior to all the surface races' blah blah blah. Didn't stop you from getting captured by me and uh... what is your name?" the Sorcerer interrupted, turning to the Minotaurus, who frowned as she responded.

"Liferin." the Minotaurus said, as her eyes glowered at him. The Sorcerer nodded, ignoring the look she gave him as he scratched at the snow white stubble on his chin. "So you knew that they were following you and Cassandra, but didn't do anything?" she asked.

"Well, playing my hand when I first noticed them would carry an increased risk of there being more to attack us. I had to confirm it was just him that was around." the Sorcerer replied. Liferin opened her mouth to speak when the Cassandra stopped her from retorting with a tone that brokered no argument.

"Liferin, that's enough. I brought him here to lend me advice on how to utilize the potential opportunity we have been given since the day the skies burst with the green light and brought him to us, and as such he is a guest. I expect you all to treat him and Lily as such, for their knowledge will be useful when we make our move against that soft-hand wench that is the current Monster Lord, and also for retaking the Castle of the Monster Lord. But before you ask how, let them give a demonstration into how our new benefactors can do so." she said, then turned a hand to the two Humans. While the Queen of Lady Village explained her statement and gestured to them, Lily smiled slightly, and bowed her head towards Cassandra as thanks.

As Emily watched, she couldn't shake the feeling of something being wrong here. The little Scylla never imagined she could feel this much fear and terror towards another being, let alone towards Humans. It was also clear to the other Lady Monsters that these Humans are not something they want in the village, they allowed that Skaven to sneak into the village for Dark Goddess' sakes! Why was her mother not listening to the way her subjects keep trying to make them leave?

"Thank you Lady Nereneid, and do not worry. You will not be disappointed with us." Lily said, as she looked back up at Cassandra, her eyes metaphorically aglow with dark thoughts...

*POV SHIFT: Ancestor Lords*

Makai World, Babylon

As the sun arose once more to the domain of Minagi, the Ancestor Lord of Succubi, the Whore Queen herself woke up with a yawn, and looked about her bedroom. She then smirked at seeing the results of her recent bedding of several men, with all that was now left of them being dried husks with stretched grins on their faces, and breathed in heavily of the still lingering smell of the aftermath of their pleasure-filled death throes. Not that it would matter short-term in the slightest much giving the recent celebrations that she threw to rile the Succubi up for the upcoming day of their victory to get her subjects' minds off concerning the slaughter that happened when the scouting expedition ran into that city of undead constructs.

"Well, time to take a quick morning shower." she replied gleefully, as she picked up the discarded and sullied purple Yamataian silk lingerie she tempted the now dead men with into her room. It was one of the most expensive luxuries the world had to offer, though that didn't stop her from buying at least five months worth of the stuff in bulk for her most strongest and powerful daughters. They were going to need a lot of it for what she had planned. Upon reaching a bathtub she had prepared ahead of time set above a fire pit, she snapped her fingers with one hand while levitating a set of hygiene products to the tub, causing a small flame to form underneath it.

As she manipulated the flames to heat the water up faster, a knock on her door drew her attention.

"Who is it?!~" Minagi called out with a flirtatious voice.

"Makari is my name Lord Ancestor. There is a gift for you, one that I was told to bring to you directly." the young and shy voice of a girl replied. Likely a Human one, given the fact Minagi would never allow her daughters to have such a meek attitude. They were Succubi, the paragons of what it means to be one of the blessed creations of the Dark Goddess, they should act like it! Even so, Minagi turned her frown upside down, and replied cheerfully.

"There is no need to be shy, love. Come on in!" When the door opened, Minagi took a peek to see who was entering, and saw it was a small Elf of around four or five years of age, wearing a puffy shirt which was overly big, with yellow eyes and auburn hair styled in twin pig-tails. As she walked in, the small Elf carried a small golden jewelry box, studded in a ostentatious and bright pattern of amethyst and sapphire gemstones. Minagi kept her tongue in check upon seeing such a cute little creature, as she remembered how raising a child can be quite a challenge when they were finicky like her. One of the things that jumped out was how the little Elf girl avoided the dead men, seeming almost terrified of them for some reason.

"Is something wrong dear?"

"N... no." the Elf said silently, as she handed the box to Minagi. The Succubus Ancestor then bent her legs so that she was at eye-level. She supposed the little Elf girl was young, and probably from one of the more laid-back Monster villages. While most Monsters of course in Makai were hedonists like her, there are always detractors, and these elements of Monster society lived on the fringes and isolated areas of the world, where they lived without killing any humans in their care.

While Minagi would want to them to just drop the act and embrace the ways of the kin, mother made it clear that they were to left alone save on the condition that they did not interfere with the affairs of the rest of Makais' Monster populace. The Elf handed over the jewelry box, then stood back as the Ancestor Lord opened it. Inside was an amethyst that was embedded in a bracelet made of what looked to be bronze designed with a swirling pattern within it. As she picked it up with one hand, Minagi was drawn to the symbol that was inside the amethyst.

"Thank you... it is quite a lovely gift!" Minagi exclaimed. As she examined the jewel more closely, she saw it was flawless without peer, the light caught within making it seem to glow and shine around the symbol which did not change no matter how she turned the bracelet, which she did not quite recognize. It started with a circle, then out at an angle a line jutted out, with which of what looked to represent two small horns jutted out from the end of the line away from it, and another which was longer, and bent towards the circle. "But, what is this symbol? I do not quite recognize this design. This bracelet is quite the work of art."

"It is an icon mommy felt inspired to put onto the amethyst." Before the Elf could elaborate, Minagi then remembered that she still had a bath to attend to when she looked back and saw steam was coming out of the bathroom.

"Oh my, I'm afraid I'll have to cut things short love. Do give your mother my praise, I have to get ready for meeting with my sisters, and well..." she gestured to her body, to which the Elf nodded, and left the room much quicker then when she entered. Minagi noticed something was off about it, as though the Elf wanted to get out of there and forget she was even there. Either way, the Succubus Ancestor mentally crossed it off as just the child being nervous around strangers, and went into the bathroom.

Yamatai, capital city of the domain of Tamano no Mae

With a yawn and a sniff, the Kitsune Lord of Beasts awoke from her bed, her tails unwrapping around her body as she swiftly got to work within her own preparations for the coming celebrations. As she approached a window and opened it, she smiled wickedly at the center and crown jewel of her domain. The city of Yamatai was her capital, made from a small village she founded in a remote part of Sentora as a forward base of operations. Now, after having conquered the world, she had turned the village into a city to fulfill all the infrastructural, technological and material needs of Makai. It was a jewel in the eyes of the Kitsune, founded and created as a canvas for her mind to paint as she saw fit with towering residential buildings built into the hillside.

Everywhere she gazed, the denizens of her city, Human and Monster alike wandered the streets for one reason or another. The Humans bowed when one of the Monsters passed by, their placed known and enforced with an iron fist.

Currently, the city was doing its rounds, with the factory that was created to make automatons to supplement the numbers of the Monsters and their arsenal of weapons should they be invaded by any of the other timelines such as the Angel World. While in the past it was mostly dialed down due to the demands for its products was at a low save for the celebration of the Dark Goddess conquering the realm of Makai, the fact the denizens of the Second World have shown intense hostility and even a clearly powerful military has caused a sharp increase in calls for military-grade weaponry. Still, a few thousand tons worth of the invention known as artillery cannons should suffice, since the fact is that the natives of the Second World are likely to be woefully behind, and will thus have to learn the folly of fighting the children of Alipheese Fateburn the Goddess of Makai.

Turning around, she sat down in front of a mirror, and proceeded to pick up a brush and also turned on a computer to see any reports calling for her attention. For the next half-hour or so she spent brushing her fur while reading them. Most were simply her agents checking in and logging their progress in their assigned tasks. The Makai version of Nanabi for example was overseeing the making and distribution of various fireworks and other entertainment media, while Yao reported being ahead of schedule in the making of various aerial transports. However, it was when one concerning the Angel Prison appeared that gave Tamano reason to pause, as it was a red message.

This was an indication that an emergency had happened, and the fact it was from the Angel Prison was a bad sign in and of itself. Was it a sign that Eden actually managed to pull off something to try and prove she is still alive? No matter, that just means she fell into the trap that was set for her, if in a manner that was surprisingly intelligent, given that it was expected that she would try to make an escape through the portal to the Second World.

"Alright, let's see what Eden has been up to here." Tamano muttered to herself as she clicked on the report. What she read was not what she expected, as instead of it being something about the last of the Angel rebellion slipping away without losing any of its members this time, it had the following to say:

Angel Prison Block 7

Current status: Under Lock Down

Cause of emergency: Angel Prison Block 7 has been attacked by a force of Humans presumed to be from the Second World in conjunction with a number of Angels that are not on any records . Said attack force managed to somehow infiltrate the Prison Block, which emerged from several dimensional rifts similar to the portal constructed to take the Makai Royal Army to the Second World.

Notably, upon entering the Prison Block, the rifts were sealed almost completely shut, and when the 7th Prison Block Wardens engaged them in combat, several traits have been seen in the Angels that indicate they are not from the Angel World, including but not limited to:

[Ability to possess other Angels, and seemingly able to merge with them. Imprisoned Angels have also been broken out and carried away deeper into the Prison Block by Humans fighting alongside them.]

[Intangibility that was greater then average, allowing them to evade being attacked with mundane weapons as well as granting them immunity to physical pleasure attacks and possible identity concealment powers. Several Wardens seeing the same Angel at the same time reported them looking different to each individual]

[Shape-shifting is highly prevalent, as many of the Angels when attacked changed their forms that appeared to be meant to cause terror and fear as they fight. Examples include one changing into a 'living cross of flesh' that fired beams of Light Magic from an eye place at its center, and another shifted to become covered in a black substance that appeared to replace its body and appeared to be highly flexible in this state, slipping under door cracks and holes the size of an apple. The latter was often seen using this ability to capture and then strangulate a Warden, until it was struck with a torch and ran away.]

[Many of their now dubbed 'Combat Forms' also incorporate masks in one way or another, believed to be magically enchanted. Not only that, the Angels also were heard speaking in a language that was only understood by the Humans that are with them. Not only that, but not a single demand was made by them.]

[The dimensional rifts that they used to enter Prison Block 7 seem to be important to them, as footage of a Witch Elf getting near showed one of the Angels cease its attempts to break into the cell containing a Valkyrie undergoing electro shock treatment at the same time the Witch began to interact with it, and teleported to the rift with three others. Upon finding her, the Angels proceeded to terminate the Warden by violently ripping her to shreds, and upon confirming her death two left to continue what they were doing while one stayed behind near the rift. There is also footage of them falling back to these rifts, seeming to draw power from whatever dimension they traveled through to infiltrate the Prison Block.]

Prison Block 7 was eventually put on Lock Down status, as the Angels were noted to have strange weaknesses such as being unable to enter shrines dedicated to Ancestor Lords, though the Humans fighting alongside them were seen set them ablaze, as well as magic attacks meant to be lethal appearing to be the only really viable method of attack save for enchanted weaponry. As of the time of writing this message, they have begun to dig in, and have also disabled most of the Prison Blocks' security cameras.

The Human half of the attacking force is currently believed to be from the Second World, as they bare iconography that is not consistent with the faith of Ilias. They also seem to be a coalition of at least three groups of Humans based on what recovered footage from the security cameras have recorded of their activities. Current estimates on engaging them indicate that the Angel Prison Wardens will require reinforcements from the Makai Royal Army in order to fully retake Prison Block 7.

As such, they have requested that the Makai Royal Army lend aid to assist in doing so before a second push is made by the Angels within the Prison Block, and to hopefully take them off-guard.

What are your orders?

Upon finishing the report, Tamano stared in confusion. Regardless, she cleared her throat, and proceed to call one of her attendants. A few moments passed before a Wolf Girl appeared, sliding open the door to her room.

"Yes my Lady?"

"Get me a line to my sisters and mother. Apparently we have a situation.

Authors note: Alright, finally got this chapter done with. I would also like to thank the reviewer who pointed out I did not finish it. I had uploaded it incomplete due to forgetting to save my last bit of writing. With that out of the way, I also will like to let those of you who read this but don't follow me know that I have been writing a third story called New Moon of Yharnam, a Bloodborne x World of Darkness crossover.

For those who don't know about one or both of them, Bloodborne is a game made by the same people who made Dark Souls. It is a Victorian Gothic-horror setting that is more then it seems. Though far more people will have likely heard of Bloodborne at the very least. World of Darkness is more obscure, and was a set of tabletop RPG which was centered around playing as supernatural creatures such as vampires, werewolves, and more in our world. It has its far share of horror elements, such as vampires who have the power to make those around them lose their sense of reality, the werewolves being locked in a losing war of attrition against the servants of a lovecraftian god that is basically all four Chaos Gods combined, and more. Feel free to look it up.
