Here is the next chapter. I hope you like it. Please read and review thanks love Hermione xxx

Harry walked up the stairs and entered the classroom he'd been directed to by one of his prefects. "Ah Mr Potter welcome. As I have Mr Warrens in my class it would be easier for me to refer to you as Mr Potter in my classes so that is what I'll be doing should you qualify to take them that is. I'm just telling you this so you're not confused when it happens. My name is Professor Bathsheda Babbling and I teach as you know Ancient Runes. Now then please sit down here and you can use this self-inking quill. I have twenty questions I need you to answer for me. I will grade it and let you know what happens. Ok you may begin!" she said with a smile as he turned his paper over and begun to answer the questions listed.

Draco really had been a good teacher. He was so patient explaining every little thing Harry didn't get without ever losing it. He was sure that others would have lost it totally so it was wonderful that he hadn't done so. They were doing things a little differently though. He was taking the test now and if he scored high marks he'd be able to join the class which would be happening directly afterwards. If he failed of course he'd have to leave and would be unable to take ancient runes. They had a free period before it so it seemed sensible to test him for the class then. He wracked his brain for the relevant information.

"What should I do Professor if I don't know the answer to one?" he asked her suddenly as she smiled at him.

"Then Mr Potter you should leave it blank and continue with the rest of the questions!" she said as he smiled and put his quill down.

"In that case then I am done. I couldn't get the last one though!" he said as she took it and corrected it at her desk. He was very nervous for the results. Would they be good or not? Eventually though she was done and she looked highly surprised. He couldn't tell if that was a good or bad thing with her though as he didn't know this teacher all that well.

"Ok well Mr Potter congratulations. Ignoring the last question you have gotten an impressive O mark. If I included the last question which was exceptionally difficult on purpose I would grade you an E+. To be honest I am surprised as I truly did not think you would be ready and you have surpassed my expectations by far. I can see teaching you will be a joy for sure. If you like you can remain sitting as we wait for the others to turn up!" she said as he smiled at her and thanked her deeply. She was such a nice teacher. In a few minutes they came in and Hermione gasped.

"Harry! What are you doing in here? This is the classroom for Ancient Runes you shouldn't be in here! Stop trying to prank the teacher because it won't work. Oh how irresponsible of you" she snapped thinking he was pranking the teacher by being in the classroom of a class he didn't take.

"Miss Granger he was tutored by an excellent student so he does in fact belong here" Professor Babbling chided lightly.

"But Professor I didn't teach him anything I swear! I would have had he asked me of course but he never did" she said sounding panicked.

"Miss Granger five points from Gryffindor for being ridiculous! You are not my only excellent student. He was tutored by Mr Warrens!" she snapped as Hermione reeled.

"Well I never knew he was that good did I?" Hermione said in her defence.

"Just because he does not need constant praise like you does not mean he's not also an exceptionally gifted student and well able to teach someone new to the subject the very basics. I will fill him in on the rest as is my job. He got an O on the assessment I gave him. Besides which if I always tell Mr Warrens he's great it will go to his head totally and he'll put in no effort any longer which is why I don't do it so often. Now find your seat at once!" she snapped as Hermione raced to her seat.

"I'm sorry that I must ask you this Professor but are you sure he didn't cheat? It's just that he really was against runes before" Hermione asked as Professor Babbling bristled.

"You have never been foolish. DO NOT START NOW! I oversaw the whole thing and graded the exam myself in case you think I'm now somehow cheating myself too. Less time spent in the books and more time spent in the real world and you might be better at conversing normally. See me tonight at eight pm for an exam. You clearly need one!" she snapped as Hermione smiled and nodded eagerly making her skin crawl slightly. Clearly a test was like a reward for her but this test would be unlike any she had ever taken before in her life. She would be using pages infused with truth runes covered with invisibility runes so they couldn't be seen but would get the person to answer the questions truthfully on the paper. Hermione clearly thought that what with this test she'd be getting ahead of everyone a thing which filled her with such utter contentment. Of course she'd regret it once she realised what it really was.

"Ok class now today is the start of a new term and with that comes a new student. Please welcome Mr Harry Potter Warrens to the class. As there are now two Warrens in the class however I shall be calling him Mr Potter a bit like most of the other staff. For today I want you all to read chapter one of your books and when you're done to draw out the rune sequence on a piece of parchment and activate it. Once you are complete you can show me and when you activate it I will know if it is right or not. Begin please" she said kindly as he opened his book carefully.

"What the hell is that?" Hermione shrieked out making many people jump and look at her in shock as she pointed at Harry.

"What is it do I have something on me?" he asked in confusion as he checked his robes for signs of some dirt somewhere he may not have seen with a blush. Oh no had he been dirty while taking his exam earlier!

"How in the hell did you get a first edition book?" she asked quite literally on the verge of tears over the fact that she didn't have one herself.

"Oh this thing! Yes Draco did say we'd need one and we found it in my vault at Gringotts by chance. Imagine that and we weren't even looking for it. Looks like an ancestor of mine wrote it after she married Eli Gimble" he said as Hermione shrieked when Bathsheda fainted suddenly whacking her head on the floor and woke up with a groan.

"Ok sorry about that Mr Potter it's just the author of this masterpiece has been an idol of mine for as long as I can remember and I didn't know she was related to you of all people. Here is where I say something I probably shouldn't but as Runes are my life I would willing award you forty house points at any point in the future if you could give me a copy of anything else of hers that you happen to find in your vault. I would consider it an honour!" she squealed out like an excited teenager who was going to see their favourite band performing in a concert or something.

"Oh well I didn't know that and to be honest I'd really rather not get forty house points for it. That wouldn't be fair to others. Please just give me ten house points. I do in fact have some of her stuff on me but I haven't yet read it over. Once I am done with them I will copy them and give you a copy but I will need a vow that you will not share it with anyone no matter who may ask. Powerful items in the hands of power hungry people are dangerous!" he warned her as she balked slightly and then gave him the vow as the class watched this exchange in awe. It was no secret that she adored this author so much as it was something she often told her students about. She summoned a pepper up potion to her from somewhere and drank it as she instructed them to continue. Suddenly there was a scream as Padma set her desk on fire.

"Oh no Professor I'm so sorry. Hermione scared me and I accidentally wrote the rune wrong!" she said as she then quickly doused the flames. The desk was quite charred but she was ok.

"Miss Patil five points from Ravenclaw for allowing something so silly to distract you. You should have been a bit more sensible. Next time Miss Granger you will think before you act. You are not a fool. Stay behind please!" she said as Padma managed to calm down. She checked everyone's and groaned as they were all correct however that rune pattern was designed to play your favourite type of music from the parchment and it did cause a mild headache. As everyone left Hermione stayed behind whereupon she was given a parchment with questions on it to answer.

"Why are you asking me these questions? They are weird and have nothing to do with Runes!" Hermione demanded but soon relented when she was told she either answered them or would get detention. Soon enough she was done and told to leave. Bathsheda settled in with a steaming cup of coco to read the results. This would be enlightening to say the least.
