Chapter 35 Rebirth
Its been a couple days since new airbenders started emerging and since Raiko's little stunt which put some serious issues on him and now he was worried he was gonna be kicked out of office...If he was lucky since attempting to take a Child of an Avatar was punishable by death.
And of course since Zaheer had escaped from his prison to do who knew what with his new abilities.
Right now the others were on Airtemple island as a highly advanced Airship arrived before it landed before David and Asami got off.
"It's perfect. Thanks, Asami." Korra said as Sean held her.
"I figured if we're going to Ba Sing Se to search for airbenders, we should do it in style." Asami said.
"That and to make sure everyone is entertained on board." David said making her grin.
"Yay! Airship!" Meelo yelled.
"I wanna see." Ikki said as the two rushed inside making the others laugh seeing them so excited.
"Pema and I will hold down the fort." Kya said holding her youngest nephew.
"Hey hold up where are Reznov and Julia?" Joker asked.
"Ah those two are looking in their own countries for new airbenders and bring them here. We're going to the Earth Kingdom to look." Sean said.
"Once we find more airbenders we can all head to the Northern Airtemple then." Tenzin said.
"Hey! How come Jinora gets to go with you but we don't! That is so not fair!" Ikki said annoyed.
"Yeah what she said!" Meelo said.
"Because if Airbenders show up here, they will need some guidance from you two." Kya said.
"Oh." They said looking excited.
"Uh oh." Will said.
"And you created a nightmare." Sean said chuckling.
Soon enough the group was in the airship and took off.
On top Naga had her tongue out as the wind blew by while Oogi did the same while Lizzie sat down.
Down below Sean pulled up a holographic map
"As of now these are the towns in the Earth Kingdom we've gotten reports about airbenders. We can hit up most of them as we make our way to Ba Sing Se." Hudson said.
"We're going to bring the air nation back from the brink of extinction." Korra said excited.
"Lets not forget not all these people are gonna wanna join. Some of these people enjoy their lives as they are and don't want to leave what they have." Sean said.
"Sean you're killing the moment." Korra said amused making Junior laugh.
"He isn't wrong. Not everyone will wanna join us." Gideon said.
"Either way with all these new airbenders from all over the world we'll have more than enough to rebuild the air nation." Sean said.
"Thats all I wish to see." Tenzin said. "And with the entire world now filled with benders I believe that will happen." Tenzin said.
Meanwhile
On a remote prison in the middle of the ocean was the White Lotus once more who guarded one of Zaheer's allies. Ghazan.
The whole prison was made of wood to prevent him from using his element from escaping.
Suddenly a speed boat appeared.
"Finally, our shift change is here."
When the boat docked they quickly noticed that there was only one member.
"Hey, where are the other guards?"
Thats when they saw who it was.
"ZAHEER!"
Zaheer quickly used his airbending to attack them.
"Hmm?" Ghazan said trying to see.
Zaheer attacked the White lotus with ease. (Again these fuckers are major league push overs compared to the old members during the hundred year war)
Thats when he three some large rocks into the cage making Ghazan smirk before using his earth bending to turn them into lava before busting out and attacked the remaining members with ease.
Thats when they got into an armlock.
"It's nice to see you again, Ghazan." Zaheer said.
"Thanks for busting me out. Where'd you pick up the new skills?" Gahzan asked.
"I have Harmonic Convergence to thank for that. I was given a gift. I believe it's a sign that our path is a righteous one." Zaheer said.
"We're going after the others right?" Ghazan asked.
"Without question." Zaheer said.
Meanwhile
"In my head I saw that playing out very differently." Korra said as they were back on the airship after failing to pick up their first Airbender.
"I told you not everyone would be so willing to come along. Some of these people are just content with their lives and they should be. Either way eventually at least half of the new airbenders will show up from the rest of the world and fill up the temples again." Sean said as Junior cooed in her arms making her smile.
"Maybe we should try harder to convince them to join us." Asami said.
"Or we could've throwing him into a potato sack and forced him into the ship." Bolin said.
"Thats how they got me to join the united forces." Bumi said playing with his spirit.
"No, Sean's right we can't coerce people or throw them into potato sacks." Tenzin said.
"Maybe we should just wait until we get to Ba Sin Se. I don't think most of these people are gonna join and shouldn't waste time on them. Most of these people live in remote places." Turok said.
"I think he's got a point. Besides theres only one airbender in each location. Ba Sing Se is said to have a couple dozen. So maybe we should just head there and skip all these other areas." Jinora said making Tenzin sigh.
"I suppose so." Tenzin said.
Later
Sean and David were playing a game on a digital screen to pass the time.
"What are you guys playing?" Korra asked holding Junior who was about ready to fall asleep.
"Zombies. Something to pass the time as we make our way to Ba Sin Se. Whats up?" Sean asked.
"Mind if we talk?" Korra asked.
"Your on your own." Sean said quitting the game.
"I really thought more people would be excited with their new abilities. I remember how excited I was when I found out I was the Avatar of my kind." Korra said.
"Oh sure your mom said you were bouncing on the walls." Sean said making her freeze before glaring at him making him chuckle.
"I was not bouncing on the walls." Korra said.
"Yes you were. Anyway not everyone wants to use their new found powers like you and Bumi. Some people just want normal lives. It's nothing unexpected. While a majority would be excited yes theres always gonna be that group who just like things the way they are." Sean said.
"Well...When you put it that way." Korra said.
As this was going on Turok was on the top of the airship in a lion form sleeping before he felt a gust of wind making him open his eyes before looking around before snarling.
"Lights out." Someone said behind him before punching him in the back of the head before Turok roared loudly which alerted the others.
"That was Turok." Jinora said before Sean rushed up.
Arriving up top Sean saw Turok in human form holding his head before rushing to him.
"You ok?" Sean asked before.
"HEADS UP!"
Sean dodged a stone fish before a large gust of wind blew him into the wall.
"Whats the matter Kruger. Don't tell me fatherhood has made you soft now."
"Argh!" Sean said annoyed before looking in front of him.
First he saw a man who was a year younger than him who had Auburn hair and dark green eyes and white skin with a stubble dressed in black clothing.
"Joseph fucking Blackwood. Why am I not surprised." Sean said grinning making him chuckle before pulling him up.
"When I heard someone was going looking for new airbenders I had to see it for myself." Joseph said as the others arrived.
"Uh Sean? Who's he?" Korra asked.
"Joesph Blackwood. He's the Avatar of Stone." Sean said surprising her. (SaurusRock625 made this one up)
"We met at the Reception but we weren't introduced." Joseph said.
"Oh I remember you." Korra said.
"He's not the only one."
Everyone looked up seeing a young woman around Korra's age of Japanese nationality. She had short black hair blue eyes and white skin with a Kenji for the element of wind on her forehead.
"Hitomi Yoko. The Avatar of Air." Sean said as she jumped down.
"A pleasure." Hitomi said bowing.
"Why are you guys showing up now?" Turok asked rubbing his head glaring at Joseph who chuckled.
"And miss all the action buddy I think not." Joseph said.
"Anymore of you?" Sean asked before a whistle sound was heard making them look up seeing three others.
The first a woman had long green hair and tan skin with amber eyes.
The second a man had dark skin and yellow hair and white eyes.
And finally the last another woman had white skin black hair and red eyes.
"Oh boy. Fiore, Kalder and Takina. The Avatars of Light, Storms and Metel in that order. (Reaper gave me the names and elements.)
"Where are they from? Korra asked.
"In order Canada, New Guinea and Spain." Sean said.
"Aw." Fiore said looking at Junior who laughed at the attention. "Can I?" Fiore asked making her smile as she handed him to her. "You are just so cute." Fiore said making Junior laugh.
"You might want to take him back before she decides to kidnap him." Kalder said before she blasted him in the chest with a beam of light making him grunt as he fell down.
"Back off jerk face." Fiore said glaring at him making everyone else laugh as she handed him back before Junior yawned making Korra smile.
"Ok mister time for bed." Korra said as they went down below.
Meanwhile
Another prison of the White Lotus was on an inactive Volcano.
And who was the one who was imprisoned? A woman named Ming-Hua who had no arms since birth but could still use water bending.
"We're under attack!"
"Hmm?" Ming-Hue said looking up seeing the White Lotus being attacked by Zaheer and Ghazan before the later threw a barrel in the air before Zaheer sliced it open letting out water before she used it to make water arms and escaped before attacking the remaining White Lotus.
"Never thought I'd be happy to see your ugly mugs again." Ming-Hua said.
"Great to see you too, Ming-Hua." Ghazan said.
"I'm flattered, you busted me out before that girlfriend of yours." Ming-Hua said.
"We're getting her next." Zaheer said.
Later
Sean and Korra slowly woke up seeing Junior in between them making them smile as Junior yawned as he woke up.
"Morning sweetie." Korra said as she kissed him making him giggle before she picked him up.
"Remember what we talked about when he turns a year old?" Sean asked making her smile.
"Yeah...I honestly think when his birthday comes around we should try for another. Junior could use a sibling." Korra said as he giggled in her arms making her smile.
"I know I enjoyed a lot of time me and my brothers had growing up despite what happened in the past. It taught me to appreciate what we do have." Sean said making her smile before kissing him.
"Yo love birds! Get out here!" Will said banging on the door.
Getting dressed they saw a young boy around Jinora's age.
"Who is this?" Sean asked.
"This is Kai. He's an airbender and he's decided to join us." Tenzin said.
"Your the avatar of life right?" Kai asked.
"I am. And this is my wife the Avatar of the four nations and our son Junior." Sean said as he held them.
"Well, we should probably get moving. Kai says theres some punks after him for some reason." Bolin said.
"Hmm?" Sean asked before they heard motorcycles outside before seeing a group of men coming off them.
"Release the boy or we'll take him by force."
"The Outlaws...They're after me." Kai said making Sean narrow his eyes.
"Joseph, Kalder. With me." Sean said as they went outside.
"Get in snipper position." Hudson said to Woods who nods as he and Mason went up top.
Sean and the other two stood before the men.
"Leave...Now." Sean said as Kalder had the skies fill up with lightning making them tense up.
"The boy is coming with us."
"Have it your way." Joseph said before stomping his foot down created a wave of earth at them making some of them yell in shock before lightning began to rain down on them.
Sean breathed white fire at them as some of them dodged or created walls of earth to block it.
"You are done tormenting this innocent boy like the outlaws you are." Sean said advancing on them.
"Outlaws? Innocent boy? I'm the sheriff here." The man said showing his badge.
"Huh?" Joseph said.
"What the? Wait if you...We've been had!" Kalder said pissed off.
"Wheres Kai?" Sean asked not happy.
"Right fucking here." Takina said incasing Kai in metal so he couldn't escape. "Going somewhere with your gold?" Takina asked throwing his bag down showing riches making them frown.
"I detest liers." Kalder said as lightning bounced off him.
"You lied to us." Sean said.
"He's the real outlaw. He spent his entire life as an orphan until he got adopted by a real nice family about six months ago. And how did he repay them? By taking all their life savings. We've been after him ever since." The Sharif said.
"Is that true?" Sean asked.
"The person who stole that stuff was the old me. Once I got airbending, I changed. I don't know how to explain it, but I feel like airbending chose me for a reason." Kai said as the officers took him away.
"What are you gonna do with him?" Joseph asked.
"Take him to prison."
Sean frowned before looking back at his wife before looking at his son and sighed.
"Wait." Sean said stopping them. "You have the gold...Take that and we'll have him." Sean said shocking Kai.
"Is that what you want?" The Sharif asked.
"Yes." Sean said before he was released before he rushed to Sean.
"Why'd you do that?" Kai asked.
"My family has always lived with the concept that everyone deserves a second chance if they can be saved. Something I've always believed in for certain people." Sean said before they walked back to the airship.
"That was nice of you." Korra said.
"Ah. I need to make a good example for Junior." Sean said as he cooed in his mother's arms making them smile before they took off.
Meanwhile
Two people stood in Ming-Hua's prison.
One of them was a member of the White Lotus. And the other was Fire Lord Zuko.
"They came out of nowhere. I'm so Sorry, Lord Zuko."
"How could you let this happen?" Zuko asked.
"They caught us by surprise. And Zaheer is an Airbender now."
"No! This can't be. Do you have any idea the power these criminals possess? Individually, they can take down almost anyone in the world. Put them all together, and they could take down the current generation of Avatars of Old at their current level. And now you're telling me their leader is an airbender?" Zuko asked.
"We can track them."
"We don't need to track them. I know exactly where they're going. Notify Colonel Makarov at the Northern Water Tribe that an attack on their prison is imminent. And send word to Ling Beifong in Republic City and Contact the United nations about the situation. They'll send they're best to help." Zuko said getting on his dragon before flying away.
Authors Note: Oh things are getting tense. And now Next Chapter is one with more action and another Avatar of Old added to the Story.
