Ch 35
Sunlight streamed through the window and connected with Gar's sleeping face, causing him to wake up. Moving his hand across the bed to get to Raven, he realized she wasn't there, causing him to sit up in bed, pull on his boxers, and make his way into the bathroom to see her sitting in a tub full of bubbles with a book. He smiled at the pleasing site and made his way over to her. "What are we going to tell the others Gar? I'm sure they're wondering what happened yesterday," Raven said as she placed her book on a stool by the tub.
"I'm guessing that's why you've been up. I don't like lying to them anymore than you do Rae, but I'll handle it I promise."
"We can't even promise this will be the last time you or me fly off the handle," she sighed. "I thought I had better control then this."
"I know how you feel Rae, believe me. It's just always seems like we're battling what's inside us."
"Perhaps we should get back to a strict training schedule and meditation."
Gar kneeled beside her, crossing his arms on the ledge of the tub and smiled. "Whatever it takes, I'm willing."
"Really, no hesitation? That doesn't sound like the Gar I know," she smiled right back at him.
"When you live with a smart, beautiful, and sexy woman such as yourself, anything is possible," he said as she blushed. "Well, I'm going to take a shower," he said as he dropped his boxers to the floor and got in.
Raven grabbed her book once again and picked up where she left off. She sighed, feeling more at ease with her solution but knowing there would always be a sliver of doubt in her mind. She pushed it away for now as she concentrated on her book but kept getting distracted by the sound of the shower. Putting her book down once again, she got out of the tub, drained it, and reach for a towel, wrapping it around her body.
Walking towards the shower, she stopped at the curtain and pulled it back to see the confusion in his eyes about her actions until she smiled and kissed him briefly on the lips before returning the curtain to its' proper place. What she didn't expect is when he brushed back the curtain, took her around the waist, and shutting the curtain behind them.
"Gar?" she said, feeling the front of his body pressed against her back side. His arms were securely around her waist as his head rested in the crook of her neck.
"You know I'm clean Rae, but you're still dirty. You know I can take care of that for you."
She felt his smile kiss the neck of her skin, making her smile. "I couldn't agree more Garfield," she said as she removed the soaked towel from around her body, feeling his bare skin.
"Really?" he said in surprise as his fingers began to trace the skin of her waist.
She could feel his excitement and most importantly his love for her in his touch. "Yes, of course. I'm expecting you to wash me without any sex involved," she smirked as she turned to face him in his arms. "Do you think you can handle it?" His eyes looked directly into hers saying challenge accepted.
Garfield could feel Dick's eyes on him during the breakfast that Vic had cooked in the Grayson's kitchen. He knew Dick wanted to know the events of last night. Gar smiled thinking about when he was teen, and Dick could break him with one look, but he was an adult now. It didn't work on him anymore. He couldn't help but smirk. "Something on your mind Grayson?" he asked as Kory, Vic, and Karen looked at Dick while Raven looked at him.
"What happened last night?" asked Dick.
"And there it is," said Vic. "He really can't help himself."
"An interrogation isn't necessary," said Raven. "I lost control of my rage and sent that monster to another dimension, end of story."
"Adonis got away," said Dick. "Can you explain that to me? Gar could have handled him."
"Adonis freaked out when he saw my rage and ran away. Gar was trying to calm me down before I caused any destruction," said Raven.
"Where did you send Galtry?" asked Dick.
"He's somewhere where he can't hurt anyone anymore," said Raven.
"Let us end this here," said Kory. "There is no need to question friend Raven and Gar like they are suspects."
"Yeah man, you need to let it go," said Vic.
"Karen?" said Dick.
"I agree with Vic. There's nothing more to be concerned about. Adonis will show his nasty face again, and he will be dealt with."
"Karen's right," said Gar. "Rae and I appreciate your concern for us, but it's time to move on Dick."
"Fine," Dick sighed, "maybe you're right Gar."
"Man I wish I could have recorded that because I don't believe he said it," said Vic.
Gar smiled. "You and I both buddy."
"Let us enjoy the time we have together before we all have to get back to our own lives," said Kory.
"What she said," smiled Karen.
"Oh! Perhaps we could go over more of the wedding plans friend Raven and Gar?" asked Kory.
"Sure," smiled Gar.
"All right," said Raven hesitantly as Kory whipped out the wedding planner.
Karen, seeing the surprised looks on the engaged couple's faces, smiled before she held a hand over her mouth and chuckled, receiving a death glare from Raven.
