August 11. Wayne Enterprises. 08:42.

The elevator dinged, forcing Bruce to look up from his phone, tearing the man away from his screen for the first time all morning. He stepped out of the elevator and into the hallway, placing his phone in his pocket as he ventured toward his destination, knowing Diana would have to wait on a response until after his meeting with Damian.

Last night the two had finally had sex, needing to feel closer than ever after everything that had happened the last few weeks. Bruce had finally given into the feelings he had held from Diana, fearing it would drive her away again, wanting her to know that he was in this, one hundred percent. He reminded her how much he loved her, and no matter how hard she tried, he wasn't going to let anyone push them away. Last night only solidified that feeling, his heart happier when she was in his arms than it had been for years. The two had slept in each others' embrace, and although the thoughts of Ace and Damian plagued both of their minds, they had slept relatively soundly.

When he had woken to his phone ringing, he had realized it had been the first time in weeks he had gotten a decent night's sleep, and resolved he would do whatever he could to make sure Diana made the manor her home, permanently.

Bruce continued to walk down the hallway, turning the corner until he was met with the glass double doors he had gone through many times before. Diana wasn't going to be at work today; one of the many things they had discussed last night. Bruce didn't want Damian anywhere near her, and when the vet had called this morning saying Ace was doing better than expected and would be able to come home later that afternoon, he knew she wanted to be the one to get him. She would spend the next few hours with Alfred trying to get the manor as prepared for the dog as possible.

Bruce quickly pulled open one of the doors and walked inside, watching as a few of Diana's security team glanced up from their desks and waved at him, before retreating back to their task at hand. Last night they had stopped another security breach and Victor and some of the IT employees were working tirelessly to make sure whoever was trying to access their data would never be able to get past their new system.

When Diana had come back from Greece, she and Victor had met up, discussing the breaches Wayne Enterprises had had, and an attempted one that had happened in her absence. The two discussed her old security blueprints, combining them with the knowledge Victor had with the technology and software available, and created a brand new system that would protect all of Wayne Enterprises from any future threats. They were still in its testing phase, but so far everything was working well, which was one less thing Bruce had to worry about now.

"Hello, Mr. Wayne," came a voice from the right. Paul stood from his seat, closing the document on his computer, before he walked up to Bruce. "Diana hasn't come in yet," he said. Paul was Diana's go to person, her second in charge. He knew the company well enough, had been here for years, and was one of the many who had been pissed when Walter, their old head of security, had by-passed him for the promotion, instead giving the title to Diana. But she had proven herself to him long ago, when she had risked her own life to save his in Metropolis. He trusted Diana, and he trusted Bruce, even if he had been the one to figure out their little secret months ago when he had smelled lavender on the both of them.

Bruce nodded. "Yeah," he said, lowering his voice to a whisper as he approached Paul's desk. "I actually came here to see you. I can't use Diana for this."

Paul raised an eyebrow. When Diana had left for Greece, she had asked Paul to be in charge, and he had readily accepted the position, but he now knew why she was so stressed all the time. It was hard work. But Diana was one of Bruce's most trusted people. If there was a reason Bruce didn't want her involved with something, he was scared to know if he should accept it. "Okay," he hesitated. "What can I do for you?"

Bruce glanced over his shoulder, his eyes settling on Diana's empty desk, before they glanced over at the clock near Joe's desk. He had fifteen minutes until the biggest meeting of his life, not nearly as much time as he needed to catch Paul up, but he was going to try his best. "Follow me," he said, before turning on his heel and walking out of the room.

Paul jumped from behind his desk and followed Bruce out of the room, catching up to the man as he waited for the elevator. "Sir?" Paul questioned. "The meeting with Mr. Kyrios? You and Diana have been planning that for months."

Bruce nodded, waiting for the elevator in front of them to open, before he motioned for the man to step inside, following him in. When the doors closed Bruce turned to Paul, knowing he only had a moment before more people joined them in the elevator. "I know you've known about Diana and I for months," he began.

"I haven't said anything to anyone," Paul said, his hands raised, wanting to make sure his boss knew he wasn't to blame if word had gotten out.

Bruce chuckled and placed a hand on the worried man's shoulder. "I know that," he said with a smile. "Which is why I know you'll be discrete with the information I tell you." He waited for Paul to nod, giving him his word that whatever Bruce told him would not be shared with anyone, including his wife, who worked in their HR department. "Diana is otherwise occupied and I do not want her on anything else that is associated with Damian Kyrios."

Paul didn't have to mutter a word. The look on his face told Bruce he needed to elaborate more. "Damian is her father," Bruce explained. "She didn't know when we started all this, but things came to light, and due to bad family history, I don't want her involved."

Paul's eyes widened and although he tried his hardest to remain unresponsive, like what Bruce had just confessed wasn't a huge surprise, he let out a small sigh. "Ah, okay," Paul said with a nod.

The elevator dinged and the doors slid open, revealing Lucius who stood with a file in his hand. "Bruce," Lucius warned, giving Paul a small greeting nod, before he turned back to the younger man. "You're taking a big risk with this," he said, handing Bruce the file with a small shake of his head.

Bruce only shrugged, opened the file and flipped through the same document he had been faxed the night before, making sure everything was there, before he shut the file. "Mr. Whitaker," he said, turning to Paul, "I need you to contact some of the security personnel on the ground and have them send up two people."

Paul tilted his head, his eyes shifting between Bruce and Lucius. "Uh, Mr. Wayne," he started, following Bruce as he walked down the hall toward the meeting room where Damian sat, along with his own head of security, Caesar, and his head financial counselor, Eli Milas. Paul watched as Bruce grabbed the handle to one of the glass double doors, his shoulders tensing as he took a deep breath. "Mr. Wayne," Paul repeated, "what are you going to do?"

"Something stupid," Bruce muttered over his shoulder, before he pulled the door open and walked inside, a fake smile plastered on his face. Lucius followed him inside, not bothering to smile, as Paul sent a quick text to who was in charge of his grounds security for the day, letting him know he needed two officers up to the fifth floor sooner rather than later.

"Mr. Kyrios," Bruce said, watching as the man stood from his seat and offered Bruce a hand. Bruce wanted nothing more than to take the man's hand and squeeze, breaking at least a few of his fingers for all the destruction he had caused, but he knew he couldn't. He needed to play his hand right, and if that meant playing nice for a few moments, then he would do so.

"Mr. Wayne," Damian said with a small nod. "It's nice to be back in Gotham." He turned his attention from Bruce when Paul walked into the room, his hands crossing in front of his body as he settled in the corner on edge, not knowing what Bruce had planned. "And where is Diana?" he asked.

"Ms. Prince," Bruce began, his eyebrows furrowing when Damian had mentioned her name. When they laid in bed last night, Diana told Bruce everything Damian had confessed to her at the park. She told him how he wanted her to work for him, and of the ultimatum she faced. Diana told Bruce she didn't want anything to happen to anyone else in Gotham because of her, and Bruce had done all he could to reassure her that after today, she would never have to deal with Damian Kyrios. "Ms. Prince is otherwise engaged and will not be here," he answered. He had no right to ask where she was. He had no right to know anything about her.

Damian huffed. Diana had gone against his wishes, disregarded his warnings. Diana would work for him eventually, however it was such a shame that Damian was going to have to destroy Bruce's company to get to her. Or so he thought.

"Such a shame," Damian said. "I did enjoy her company." He looked up to see Bruce glaring at him, his gaze attempting to burn a hole through Damian's head. Diana must've told him the truth of her parentage.

"Yes," Bruce said, waving off Damian's comment. He placed the folder in his hand onto the table and opened it. "I want to thank you for coming back to Gotham," he began, watching as the older business man got comfortable, before he smirked, "but our business together has concluded."

Damian raised an eyebrow, pulling the cuff of his shirt as he tried to read the man in front of him. "Excuse me?" he asked, shifting in his seat.

"The deal is off, Mr. Kyrios," Bruce explained.

Damian chuckled and shook his head, unable to accept what Bruce was saying. There was no way he was going to listen to this man who knew nothing of how to run a successful business.

"Mr. Wayne," a meek voice said. Everyone turned to look at the man seated to Damian's left, his chief financial counselor, Eli Milas. "You can't just decide to break a deal. You signed a contract, remember?"

Bruce nodded, grabbed two copies of the packets inside, and slid them across the table, watching as they landed in between Damian and Eli. "We did," Bruce stated, not denying what Eli had said. "However the contract we signed was for the sharing of information, since Mr. Kyrios wanted some more time to draft another contract" he explained, pulling the rest of the papers from the file and placing them in front of Eli. "Here's the information I've shared, and I've already received the information I needed. In all aspects, that contract is fulfilled, and our business is done."

Bruce closed the empty file and crossed his arms over his chest. He stared at Damian, watching as his brow furrowed as he flipped through the contract on the table in front of him. "You're crazy," Damian said, his voice wavering as he grew angry. "You can't expect to just end a partnership after it's gone this far."

Bruce didn't budge. "Had I known what kind of a man you were earlier, we would have never made it this far."

Damian clenched his hands into fists. The vein in his neck started to pulsate as he became more and more angry. "How dare you," Damian said, standing from the seat. Paul took a step toward Bruce, his hand moving to his holstered weapon on his hip as he watched the older man slam his hand on the desk. Caesar stood beside Damian and placed his hand on his boss' shoulder, knowing if Damian made an irresponsible move now, he would not be able to protect him from the law. "You cannot, and will not, do this to me. I will see to it that every single one of my lawyers picks apart this contract."

Bruce nodded. He watched as two uniformed officers came into the room and stood next to Paul, before he turned back to Damian. "And each and every one of my lawyers are all up to the challenge," he said, "but for now we are done." Bruce turned to Paul, a smirk on his face. "Now, Mr. Whitaker, if you would be so kind as to escort these three off the premises."

Paul nodded and watched as the two officers surrounded both Eli and Cesar. Damian begrudgingly stepped away from the table, his nose flared as he became more and more angry. He watched as Eli and Cesar walked to the door, led by one of the officers, tailed by the other, while Paul followed Damian toward the end of the room. He was nearly out of the room when he stepped up to Bruce, placing his face inches away from Bruce's. "You will regret this," he whispered, his voice harsh.

Bruce only shook his head, furrowing his eyebrows as he continued to glare at Damian. "Don't try me," he said. "And if you ever threaten Diana, or come after her again, I promise you will regret it." He nodded to Paul, letting him know he was done talking, watching as he escorted Damian out of the room and down the hall, a sigh of relief escaping as he turned to Lucius.

"How do you think that went?" Lucius asked, his own sigh of relief escaping through his lips as he realized that could've gone a lot worse than planned.

Bruce took a deep breath. "Better than expected," he said, "Although I suspect this isn't the last time we'll hear from him."

Lucius nodded. "And what does Diana think of this plan?" he asked.

Bruce shrugged. Lucius had been with him when he had discovered the connection between Damian and Hippolyta, and he was the one who had mentioned the possibility of Damian being Diana's father. When Bruce had come back from Greece and confirmed it knowing Lucius would keep her paternity a secret, Lucius had worried how she would feel about Bruce's attempt to get out of business with the man. "She will be happy to know that Wayne Enterprises will have nothing to do with Damian or his company."

Lucius nodded. He knew what Bruce had just done was risky, and his legal department would be working countless hours trying to fight Damian and his lawyers, but in the end it would be beneficial for everyone. As they walked out of the room Lucius made a mental note to have Bruce approve a raise for the whole department after all this blew over.

August 20. Wayne Enterprises. 15:37.

Diana let out a sigh as she tossed another file into the ever growing pile on her right, adding to the documents that needed to be shredded before she left for the day. The last week had been busy, with Bruce's lawyers trying to solve and having to settle every legal claim Damian's company tried to bring forth. It had been days filled with long nights, early mornings, and thousands of emails and faxes, but in the end there was nothing more Damian or anyone from his company could do.

Diana had to admit, when Bruce first confessed his plan, showing her the contract Lucius had read over and over, trying to find a loophole, she had been skeptical. She knew Damian would fight Bruce, no matter what the contract said. She knew he would do something, regardless of how immoral it was, but when Bruce had told her Damian had given up, cutting his losses and moving on, Diana was thrilled. That didn't mean some part of her was still worried he was up to something. He did, after all, still have access to important information on Wayne Enterprises that even a thorough lawyer couldn't stop; Victor was working tirelessly to make sure Damian nor any other Tartuarus employee couldn't access anything more than previously agreed upon.

A loud beep came from her cell phone atop of her desk, a notification popping up on the screen that showed she had received a message from Shayera. Diana grabbed her phone and opened the text message, a smile on her face when she saw the photo of Shayera and John, who were enjoying their last morning in Hawaii together, before flying back to Gotham in the afternoon.

The last week had been lonely in the apartment without Shayera. Diana had missed the nights sitting in front of the television, sharing a ridiculously unhealthy amount of food, as they talked about anything and everything. When Bruce had come into Diana's life, Shayera had become jealous that Diana had been spending so much time with him. But now that she was in her own relationship with someone who had become her best friend, she understood. And while Diana had spent every night this week at Bruce's house, helping with Ace in between keeping Alfred company in the kitchen, she couldn't wait until she and Shayera could sit and share a bottle of wine again.

"I miss you" Diana responded, adding a sad crying emoji before she sent the message to Shayera, before she placed the phone back onto her desk. She focused her attention on her computer screen, going back to the emails she had received from the last few days. She still had a lot of work to do before their fundraiser for the hospital, and although Andre had been such a massive help, she was still responsible for getting everything set up. They still had two months, but things were piling up, and she hoped she hadn't taken on more than she could handle.

"You two are brilliant."

Victor Stone tilted his head, a smile on his face as he turned to Lucius, accepting his praise. "It was a joint effort," he said, reminding the man that it was both Diana and his idea come to life.

Lucius nodded, watching as Victor turned back to the computer screen that displayed a few employee login codes, one of the added features he and Diana had implemented in their newest system. They made it easily able to track who was accessing data, as an extra security measure.

Bruce, who was staring at the screen from over Victor's other shoulder, stroked his chin in thought. "So it stopped this last attempt fully?"

Victor nodded, typing a few keys on the keyboard in front of him, and clicked a link. Another display came up on the large screen, a loading bar at the top filling as it processed, before a folder popped up on the home screen. "Yes," he answered. "And we have a log of which codes were used prior to it."

"Which employee was it?" Bruce asked.

Victor typed a few more keys. "Um, looks like there was a generic code used. I can see what department that one was for." Bruce nodded. Never had he been so grateful that Diana had implemented security codes for each department, giving them basic access for those employees who didn't need complete access to all their files. He watched as Victor continued to type, letting out a gasp when he realized what department had been accessing the information before their attempted breach. "Zone 3," Victor said. "Which one is that?"

"Security," Lucius answered, his head tilting to look at Bruce, who only rubbed his brow, frustrated. This just proved that whoever had been breaking through their security was indeed an employee. "What information was the hacker trying to access?"

Victor opened the folder on his screen, reading through the bottom page as he searched for the answer to Lucius' question. "Looks like an employee file," he said. "Scratch that. It was two employee files: Mr. Wayne's and Ms. Prince's." He hit a few more keys, his lips twisting as he continued to read. "But I think you guys want to look at this."

Victor pointed to the screen, his brow furrowing as he took a deep breath. "These files were accessed quite a few times within the last few months, each time gaining new information. In fact, this code was used to access both these files right before the trip to Metropolis, as well as the itinerary. Whoever was looking at these knew exactly where the two of you would be, what time, and with whom. The same person accessed them last week as well."

Bruce looked up, his eyebrow raising. Someone stealing access to Diana's file once was trouble, but more than once, especially right before the incident in Metropolis, made Bruce certain everything had been orchestrated by someone who worked for his company. More importantly, one of Diana's security team. Someone on Diana's team was more than what they seemed, and it was up to the three of them to figure it out before something else happened.

Diana continued to read through the emails, a text from Bruce still flashing on her phone's screen. A small knock on her door forced her attention from the computer to the door to her office. She waved in the person on the other end, a smile on her face as they took a seat, waiting for her to finish the email that she had been typing. "What's up?" she asked, turning toward the man that was sitting in front of her once she hit send.

His dark hair fell into his face, and his eyes, although usually a light shade of brown, were dark, accentuated by the dark circles under his eyes, as if he hadn't slept in days. "You alright?" Diana asked, doing a double take of the man who sat in front of her. She stopped replying to her emails and turned, giving her employee her full attention.

He ran a hand through his hair as he shrugged. "Just tired," he responded nonchalantly. "I just wanted to ask about-" He was cut off when Diana's office phone began to ring. Diana glanced over at the phone and noticed the bold words "IT Dept." flash across the screen. It was Victor and he probably had important information.

"Sorry," Diana apologized to the man, She hated to interrupt him, but she knew she had to take the call. The man only nodded, before she reached over and grabbed the phone. "Security, this is Diana," she answered.

"Diana." Bruce's voice startled her. Why was he calling from the IT department? "Victor has the access codes, and it's Paul," he explained. "Paul is who has been hacking the system."

Diana glanced up at the man seated in front of her. "It can't be," she whispered. "He was with me and you during the last breach," she explained. "Which code was used?"

"9-7-8-2-3-4," Bruce answered.

Diana turned to her computer and typed a few keys, her eyes narrowing as she read the file on the screen. "No," she said with a shake of her head, "he hasn't used that code since late March." She stood from her chair and turned to the file cabinet behind her, opened the second drawer, and ruffled around inside, pulling a sheet of paper out of one of the dozens of files. "He had been having difficulty with his code," Diana explained, "So we changed it and gave him more access."

"Okay," Bruce said, hitting another dead end. "Well there's one more code but we can't pinpoint which employee it was," Bruce said.

"Okay," Diana said, pulling more files from the cabinet. If anyone from her team was sabotaging the company and potentially putting her or Bruce in danger, she wanted to know who it was. "What's the code?"

"8-7-6-2-4-2."

Diana froze. Each of her security personnel had a unique access code with the exception of the part time ground security and one individual, but the ground security never accessed company files. Only one employee she knew would access their files with the department's code. It was the same man who had been sitting in the chair in front of her desk. "I know who it is," she said in a rush. "I need-"

The line went dead before Diana could tell Bruce to get to her office. The shuffling from behind made her realize the man was now up and out of his seat. She knew who was accessing her file, and when she felt the cold metal of a gun barrel pressed against the back of her head, Diana realized he knew she had figured it out as well.
