Chapter 35

Remleon woke up to find himself in a shallow hole that was filled with water, nearly submerging him, but it was just low enough so he could breathe.

He then noticed that possible due to the water, but his wounds were almost completely healed, the hole no longer in his stomach, only a large scar left behind.

He got out of the pool and turned around, just to see Zoe come from behind with a large bag of sorts.

"Your awake." She said as she slung the bag over her shoulder, making it immediately disappear.

"...how long was I asleep?" Asked the wolf.

"A long time. I put you in some spring water to quicken your recoveries, but I didn't know it would put you out for this long. But I figured it would be better to have you at 100%, even if it took some time."

Remmy nodded. "I appreciate it." He said.

Zoe shook her head. "It was for the good of us both but we don't have time to focus on that.

I've found where Perseus was, and I think he needs us." She said ominously.

Remmy raised a brow as Zoe walked away, following the huntress.

The two emerged from the trees to see the city of Vegas in front of him, with a very noticeable difference in it.

"..." Remmy shook his head. "I see."

One of the biggest and brightest building in the city was currently smoking from the top as sirens wailed throughout the city.

"What has he gotten himself into?" Asked the wolf.

The two started to descend into the city in an attempt to help the companion.

"I only hope that we are not too late to help." Said the Hunter, not knowing exactly how screwed Percy was at this moment.

I walked through the city of Vegas for longer then I had anticipated as I realized that I didn't in fact know how to use a map.

But after some struggle, I had found the right path, and now I was currently standing directly in front of the Wynn Hotel, one of the places Limos had marked.

Obviously a child couldn't simply walk into a casino late at night, so I would have to manipulate the mist quite a bit consistently in order to cover myself.

After getting past the front door security and multiple waiting rooms, I found myself in the middle of a large corridor with multiple rooms on each side.

There was a multitude of people filling the building, making it near Impossible to see where I was going. With all the grown people walking past me or literally through me, I felt extremely small despite the deadly weapon in my possession.

I pushed the thought to the side as I threw my hood over my head, as if it would cover me more.

I was trying to make my way to the end of the room when a large man bumped directly into me, sending me to the floor.

Look, it's not that uncommon to lose my balance in such a crowded place, but from a mortal? While I was on guard?

I looked up to see a man in a black suit with long black hair looming over me. He had a solemn like look as his face as he simply reached a hand out and helped me up, and without a word, he disappeared into the crowd.

"Weird." I muttered, unable to get rid of the chills I had gotten. I eventually made my way to the end of the corridor and burst through to what I assumed to be the main room of the casino.

I scanned the room as I had a feeling that I was missing something. I looked over the multiple assortments of machines as people were using them, paying me no attention.

I don't know what it was, but I felt like I was being watched.

I soon found out why when I noticed three pairs of eyes at varying distances, all intently looking at me.

The closest was a dog like humanoid equipped with dirty silver armor and a sheathed sword on his back. His eyes were wild, but smart at the same time, like ones of a hawk scouting its prey.

The second was a little farther away, seated on one of the machines. His skin was made of a charcoal like substance with the smallest traces of orange flowing through him. His eyes were a fierce and fiery red as he seemingly stared into my soul.

And the third was none other then the man who had bumped into me in the hallway, a man donned in black robes with pale skin. He was standing on top of the center-piece bar, a large white blade in his hand.

I stared at the three, Phonoi, Makhai, and Hysiminai, waiting for them to make a move. I didn't know exactly how they were going to attack with all these people around, but they soon showed me how.

Phonoi, the one in the back, raised his sword into the air, and I watched as it glimmered for a second, revealing a large rifle. Probably what it looked like to a mortal.

Before I could understand what was happening, the god gripped the trigger and immediately shots were fired from the blade, all piercing the roof of the room.

Immediately the room descended into chaos as people ran for their lives, screaming bloody murder. It didn't take long for the room to empty as everyone filed out into the hallway as alarms were sounded.

"That's one way to clear the place out." I said to myself.

I took out my scythe and held it defensively.

It was only me and the three gods now, with no mortals around to save me.

Unlike the other Androktasiai, these three wasted no time with words, instead, immediately jumping into battle.

Phonoi launched himself from the back with his blade up front, making contact with me in seconds.

I parried his attack and sent him back through the air only to be pressured once more.

Before Phonoi even landed, Hysiminai was on my case attempting to sweep my legs with a kick. I jumped over it before sending the hilt of my scythe into his stomach, making him fall back.

This, however, left me open, giving Makhai the chance to swipe downwards with his steel blade, forcing me to raise my hand to block the attack. I pushed him back and immediately backed away, creating distance between me and the gods.

I was already sweating heavily and the gods had only attacked once each. It didn't seem like I could hold up for long, but I wasn't given the time to think as Phonoi came forward once more, clashing blades with me like an expert, forcing me to stay focused.

I realized that the other two had to have been watching, because if they wanted they could probably have killed me.

I quickly found this to not be true as once I had created a little space between me and Phonoi, Hysiminai came out of nowhere and delivered a kick from below.

I landed with a thud and rolled over, only to see Makhai crashing down on with with his large blade. The god had lava flowing through his entire body as he attacked, making it seem like a scene from a horror movies.

I rolled once more to dodge the attack and got up. I swung my scythe behind me and caught the gods blade, forcing him back. We fought for a little before he jumped back, regrouping with his squad.

I was breathing heavily as my body knew that this was an uphill battle. It was obvious that unlike the other Androktasiai, these three were fighting to kill, and wouldn't waste time on antics.

"Perseus Jackson." Said the deep voice of Phonoi.

"This is the place you die."

All three gods raised there blades and prepared to attack, all at once. I mentally chuckled as I realized just how screwed I really was.

I raised my blade and prepared to attack, hoping to get on the offensive, but I stopped as Phonoi suddenly dropped his blade.

He turned to the other two gods and seemed to say something, but I didn't catch it. Before I could do anything though, the both of them snapped their fingers and flashed away, leaving me alone with the dark god.

"Your friends are on their way to this building as we speak. I must kill you here, or else our plans will fall apart." He said, raising his blade once more.

"Really? The others seemed to want me alive, based on words I've exchanged." I said to the god.

"I am not the others." Is all he responded with.

I squinted. He definitely was confident in his abilities, but it seemed to be because he knew how to fight, not because he was a god."

"And why do you believe you can take me on without the other two?" I asked, raising my blade.

"We shall see."

I scowled, annoyed, but I kept my composure. With a little boost in my step, I lunged forward towards the god and swung wildly, hitting him with as much force as I could generate.

The god squatted down before slashing his blade, a way to meet me with just as much force. The god hit me up through the air, but I quickly recovered.

However, I was not expecting the god to kick up one of the pool tables in the room and launch it towards me.

My mind went into overdrive as I swiped up and split the table in half, the edges grazing my arms and forming a small cut.

I dropped my scythe in pain, but regretted it immediately as the god was in my face and delivered a punch to my skull, sending me back. I realized that the table was simply a smokescreen to cover his attack.

He was smart, I noted. No problem, I was smarter.

I regained composure and lifted my blade.

"A clean hit." I said, spitting out blood. "It won't happen again."

I ran forward and felt my body take over as my inner instincts kicked in.

I unleashed a flurry of attacks upon the god, giving him no time to relax. I finished off my combo of sorts with a kick to the stomach, one that launched the being into the slot machine behind him.

He burst through the machine and the one one behind it before landing on his but, knocking over an entire row of the games.

I had hoped this would buy my time, but the god quickly got up from the destroyed machinery.

Without hesitation, he threw the screens at me at max velocity. I barely was able to swat it away as the god launched himself into the air.

He did a spin mid air and finished with a downward swipe.

I felt myself go into overdrive yet again as I watched the god descend in slow motion. I simply sidestepped and watched him hit the area I was just standing at.

He created a wave that shook the entire room, but I remain unfazed. With relative easy, I kicked forward and launched the god into the bar.

The god destroyed all the glass bottles around him in impact, but got up and simply shook it off.

I don't know how, but whenever my instincts kicked in, even the Androktasiai didn't seem too bad, especially in comparison to Eris.

The god growled and raised his blade into the air. He planted his feet and I watched as dark energy started to form at the top of his sword.

I braved myself as the god swung down and launched the sphere of darkness at me.

I swung upwards once it was close enough, and thankfully it reflected the ball of power, though it had come faster then I had expected.

The sphere hit the glass walls at the top of the room, blowing a hole into the building. I watched as flames appeared around the holes and smoke started to fly up.

I had no doubt that when I left this place, it would be in complete ruin.

The god seemed irritated as he rushed forward and met me in the middle of the casino. We exchanged blows with neither one of us letting up.

With Riyu, I had had an advantage and with Ponos it was just me avoiding getiting crushed, but this right here was a fight for survival with my enemy not holding back.

I had thought I would find an opening, but before I could, the god slammed his sword into the ground, breaking the floor beneath us and launching me into the air.

I was immediately caught off guard as it was a completely weird tactic, but it obviously had worked.

The god jumped up after me, and without any struggle he lifted his hands together in a fist and slammed downwards, batting me away like a fly.

I landed on top of the large bar with a bang and I immediately felt like I had crushed every bone in my body.

"AUGHH!" I said, catching my breath. I contorted in pain as I had almost lost consciousness as soon as I had made impact.

The god landed after me and walked over.

He picked up my near limp body and forced me to look him in his eyes.

"As I said, this is where you die." He said stoically.

I looked at him with nothing but fury on my mind

I reached up and grabbed the gods arm.

"Let me go..." I growled out as I gripped his arm with all my might.

The god flinched as I heard a crackling in his arm.

I forced him to let me go and made quick work, slashing my scythe forward to cut the god in half. Before it could make contact, the god repelled my blade and kicked me in my stomach.

I tumbled for a bit before recovering and throwing myself at the god. I attacked with everything I had before bringing it all together in a single diagnosis slash.

The god saw the power behind this and matched it before we made impact, and I swear I saw sparks ignite in the area between us.

Due to the power behind our attacks, our blades flew completely out of our hands, flying behind us into the lobby below.

I didn't notice but the entire room around us was completely in flames as parts of the roof were falling down.

With no weapon, the god rushed towards me and we locked arms, rocking back in forth as each of us tried to throw the other to the ground.

I didn't know how this had gone from a sword fight to a wrestling match, but it was brutal.

There was the grabbing of hair, the snapping of bones, and the throwing of fists as we threw each other across the casino, creating an absolute mess.

I threw the god off me and I backed up, trying to recover my breath.

I was bruised all over and bleeding even more, blood covering my eyes and making it hard to see. The god had elbowed, kicked, and knees me to near death.

I didn't know where my weapon was so I decided I would have to finish this with my bare hands.

It was obvious that the god was stronger then me, much more so, but I had the upper hand when it came to technique. I had learned from experience how to fight things bigger then me, and this was just one of those moments.

I threw my cloak to the ground as I ripped off my shirt, letting the air that was let in from the massive holes in the room hit my skin.

The god was breathing heavily as well, but wasn't nearly as hurt, merely bleeding from small cuts and and being bruised across his arms.

"There is no escape from the inevitable. Please, give up for your sake."

I laughed like a psycho with blood dripping from my mouth. "What's the fun in that." I said, and the god merely scowled. Without hesitation, I ran forward and met the god in the middle, fighting him with all the power I had.

I just hoped that it would be enough.

The hunter and the wolf ran through the brightest city in the world in a desperate attempt to save their friend before it was too late. They didn't know what was going on, but based of the supposed "terrorist attacks" at the casino, they didn't think it was good.

The two reached the front of the "Wynn Hotel" to see countless mortals filtering out,

causing immense traffic in the streets in front of them.

But neither of the two were focused on this chaos, instead they were looking at the being in between the two palms trees standing in front of the entrance.

"That is..."

"Hysiminai." Finished Remleon. The god, err, spirit of battle."

"Turn around, before I'm forced to kill you." Said the Hyena-god in a gruff voice.

Remleon wasted no time, his hair almost immediately turning white as fur started to cover his body. Zoe watched as he slowly became more of a wolf then human before he even spoke.

"Get out of my way-" The wolf was cut off by a being coming from seemingly nowhere that hit the god like a bulldozer, launching him miles into the sky.

Zoe took a step back to scan the one that had just batted away Remleon away like a ping pong ball.

He was a tall man with thick black volcanic skin with bright lava flowing through his veins. "Makhai..." breathed the huntress.

Instead of saying anything, the god bent his knees and swung his sword once more, just in time to catch Remleon and knock him back once more as soon as he had landed.

Before he could land again though, Makhai jumped away in pursuit of the wolf, leaving the battle god with the hunter.

Hysiminai grunted. "I had planned on letting you live, but my brother thinks it's best to kill you two here. You should've left when you had the chance." He said, taking out his large broadsword that he wielded with one hand.

"I do not fear you." Said the huntress, taking out the knife of Artemis.

Hysiminai simply scoffed. "Am I supposed to be intimidated?" Asked the god.

He rushed forward and swung his sword with precise destructive power. "Do you think you can really go toe to toe with a god?" He said darkly before swinging his sword, nearly launching Zoe like Makhai had launched Remleon.

Zoe was hit through the street, destroying the the pavement as she struggled to stop herself. She didn't have time to recover though as the god closed in once more, slashing downwards, forcing Zoe to roll away as he destroyed the car that was behind her.

"There are mortals around! Do you realize the damage you are causing?!" Asked the huntress as she backed away.

The street they were on was essentially in flames caused by explosions that had come from the Wynn hotel.

The god snarked. "You have other things to worry about huntress." Replies the god as he made his way over to Zoe, seemingly drawing in the flames towards him.

Chapter is a bit short, but the next one should make up for this (not with length, but content) ;)
