Chapter 35….
Less than half-an-hour later Jack showed up at Milltown and was surprised to see Molly there too;" Hey. What are you doing here?"
"Carly called me and asked me to come right away." answered Molly just as surprised as she walked in with Jack;" Did she call you too?"
"Yes, Molly. I did." replied her cousin, who was sitting on the couch;" When were you two going to tell me about what happened with Janet?"
"What do you mean?" asked she, not sure how much Carly knew about what had happened;" What are you talking about?"
"I'm talking about the fact that Janet's nose looks like she's family of Rudolph the reindeer. According to her you did that to her, Molly. She said that you hit her. So I just want to know why you didn't tell me about that!" said Carly with an angry look as she looked at Molly first and after that at Jack;" Or why you didn't, Jack?"
"Janet showed up here a little while ago to return the divorce papers, which she ripped up infront of Carly. And then she just about demanded that my sister tell you that it would be a cold day in hell before she would sign those, Jack. That's when Carly found out about Molly hitting her." answered her sister when neither of them answered;" She was being pretty nasty and if I hadn't been here Carly probably would have slugged her as well."
"I'm sorry. I should have told you." sighed Jack with a guilty look as he looked up at Carly;" I just didn't want to upset you."
"You should have told me!" replied she;" You both should have!"
"You're right and I'm sorry about not telling you too." said her cousin, feeling guilty as well;" And I'm also sorry for hitting that woman because it probably made things worse for you guys."
"I wasn't there, but I'm sure that she deserved it." answered Carly with a faint smile;" If Rosanna hadn't been here I would have knocked her right off the porch here, cuz. The woman has that effect on people."
"So…you're not angry at us anymore?" asked her ex-husband hesitating;" I really am sorry, Carly."
"No, I'm not angry at you guys anymore. But next time just tell me when something like this happens." replied she with a sigh;" You can't keep treating me like I'm some fragile woman or something."
"You're hardly fragile, cuz. Far from it." laughed Molly;" But you're right and next time something happens we will tell you about it."
"Let's hope that there won't be a next time." said her cousin softly as she looked up at Jack;" If it's up to Janet she will never give you a divorce, Jack. She'd rather stay married to you then let you come back to me."
"She can try and fight me on that all she wants but that's not going to change the fact that I am coming back to you. I'm yours and I will be a free man again so that we can be together." promised he and gently kissed Carly on her cheek;" And you're mine!"
