Ember Island Players of Doom
Toph smirked and grabbed Aang by the collar.
"Let's go!" she barked dragging a reluctant Avatar behind her. Hours later, Sokka and Suki ran into the house excitedly holding a large poster. Katara was finishing up dinner and turned to the couple wiping her hands on her apron.
"I really hope you two haven't stirred up trouble in town. We just got here and don't have anywhere else to go." She warned. Sokka raised an eyebrow.
"If I recall the only one who got us all in trouble because she got arrested with a small earthbender was—" Katara flicked a cup of water in her brother's face before he could finish his sentence.
"H-hey! No fair Sis!" Sokka sputtered glaring at his younger sibling. Suki took the now damp poster from Sokka and held it up.
"Look, there's a stage play about us and it's happening all week. We should go see it!" she chirped. Zuko walked in at that moment and asked,
"See what?" Sokka and Suki said in unison,
"See this!" holding up the poster so Zuko could get a better look. Zuko blanched.
"Oh Agni, no! The Ember Island Players have been butchering classics like "Love Amongst the Dragons" all my life. I'll pass, thanks." Aang and Toph chimed in together.
"Pass on what?" they asked.
"Zuko wants to be a spoiled sport because he doesn't want to see a play about us." Sokka challenged. Zuko shrugged.
"You're right, I don't." Sokka poked out his bottom lip.
"Aww, Man come on! It'll be fun…" Sokka pleaded.
A few days later the sullen teens exited the theatre with emotions everywhere. It'll be fun Sokka said…but the play wasn't that entertaining and had almost no high notes to redeem itself. The playwright with an unfortunate name created characters that were over-exaggerated and that ending…Let's just say the Fire Nation was pretty clear on the victors when this war was over.
Katara avoided Aang who pouted when he couldn't sit next to her in the private box earlier that night and she was furious when he tried to kiss her during the intermission. It was in the quiet walk back that Sokka noticed how Katara was speaking in whispered tones to Zuko who listened intently and placed a careful hand on hers. She looked up giving him a small smile in thanks.
Whoa, when did this happen? Sokka wondered. He knew Zuko admired Katara, but this may be a little more than that. Big brother Sokka would have to have a chat with Zuko. Toph just smiled to herself and whispered to no one,
"Looks like there were somethings Pu On Tim got right after all…"
