Hello there! Sorry for the delayed update, didn't have the chapter finished until today! Anyways, I have so many plans I'm so excited for! My friend and I have been planning a bunch of stuff out! I hope you guys will enjoy it as much as I know I will! And boy! Doesn't that Security Breach trailer look fantastic?
PK - SPRINGTRAP HUG MEH: Ah yes, the Puppet, well, we shall certainly see now shall we? As for William? Hm, we shall see if he does truly care for Leo or not. Also...I love the nickname Acidrew! I didn't catch it at first but when I did I was like wow! anyways, yes, there are certainly more sides to Acidrew that have yet to be seen. You know what is funny? I just discussed with my friend on how we are going to include the nightmares...and boy, I have to say I really like the idea that was chosen. As for how long I plan on going? Well...I already have a vague outline of what I want Security Breach to look like...so...I hope that answers your question. However, as for UCN...tragically that one won't be included in this story. I just...don't have a way to work it into the plot I have in mind. I may...MAY do a short story on it one time, but I don't think I will be able to include it in this fic. Sorry if this is disappointing!
SILVERLEONE: Burn them at the stake indeed, sadly this is only the beginning of their sins.
TU4QU0I53T4UAN6L3: Ah yes, Acid and his father, they have a complicated relationship, it remains to be seen how it will progress, and whether one will switch sides or not. Who knows? As for SpringBonnie, that is a good guess! I suppose we shall have to see how he plays his role.
Fantom Knight: Yes, poor Joey, she didn't even see it coming. Spring Bonnie is actually one of my favorites as well! I'm excited to write his conflict with William! As for Fredbear? Yes, he will certainly be wanting to save his friend. As for Leo? I guess we shall have to see how he reacts. But suffice to say...William is very crafty with words and manipulation.
JustAFemaleGeek: Oh if you think this is a mess...just you wait. And Spring Bonnie will certainly be playing a role. As for Acid? He will be a unfortunate thorn in the side of everyone for a good long while. As for the Aftons? Yes. Yes they are.
I own nothing but my characters
Chapter 35
Strangers
Leo gazed in on the main room, the scene was odd, but not that surprising.
Both Bonnie and Steven were laying down on stage gazing at the ceiling and talking about who knows what. Fred and Freddy were sitting at a table playing some card game, Foxy was helping Mangle with some loose bolts, stopping every time the pink fox growled or tensed up.
Chia and Chica were off in the kitchen hopefully not fighting, Balloon Boy was by a flustered Enix as the guard seemed to be trying to explain something to him.
Leo didn't see the Puppet, so he assumed he was in his box.
That guy could be more antisocial than Leo sometimes.
"Leo!" Foxy greeted making the older guard jump. But after recovering he looked toward the fox and let out a breath.
"Hey Foxy..." the others hadn't noticed yet so he went over to the pirate and Mangle. "You helping out Mangle?" He asked nodding to the pink animatronic in greeting. She gazed at him but nothing more. The guard nodded again before turning back to the non-mute animatronic.
"Yea, she be havin' some bolts loose. Asked fa me aid." He then put his paw and hook on his hips, "yee been stayin' away tonight lad?" The bot asked and Leo took a breath looking at the others.
He couldn't help but wonder if they had been relieved for a break from him.
"Hm? Oh uh...yeah, been up late watching tv and such, I ended up falling asleep a few times I guess." He looked at him and rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry." But the fox shrugged and waved him off with his paw.
"Aye, this cap'in understands the need for rest lad. Just don't stay up late often, ya 'ere?" He then nudged Leo's shoulder with his paw and the guard let out a bit of a laugh.
"Yeah, definitely will do better about that."
He finished just as Enix's watch went off, his eyes automatically went to his roommate and comrade. There he found the man getting up and grabbing a bag with a breath and coming over to Leo. The older guard gazed up at his compatriot as Enix gazed down at him.
"So, you sure you aren't coming?" The younger, but taller, man asked. Leo took a breath and nodded.
"Yeah, gotta make sure Acid doesn't burn this place down or something." He offered with a shrug, Enix nodded and opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, only to think better of it and nod again. He then turned and headed out the door leaving Leo to take a deep breath, his shoulders dropping.
The eyes of the animatronics were on him...and he tried to ignore it.
That's when Acid came into the room.
He was panting a bit as he came over to where Leo was standing, the guard closed the distance and shifted.
"Uh, is everything okay?" He asked carefully, trying to gauge whether it was a Scott related problem or not.
"Joey passed out again, anyone have something to eat? I think it was her sugar levels." He muttered, rubbing his hands together and looking around. Leo swallowed and turned to the animatronics.
"Um, guys can you go get something from the kitchen?" He asked, and Freddy got to his feet.
"I'll go see if either Chica has made anything." With that he got up and left the room. Leo nodded and took another breath turning back to Acid.
"Okay, so you go check on her and make sure it's just blood sugar levels." He instructed and Acid gave a thumbs up before heading back to the office. Leo watched him go and hoped there was enough sense in his head to tell Scott to go hide.
With a breath he turned back to the remaining crew and rolled his shoulders and slapped his cheeks before nodding to himself.
"You doing alright there?" Fred asked suddenly, making the guard jump and look at him before blinking.
"Oh uh...yeah...yeah, I'm doing okay. Er...how are you doing?" He asked lamely, the bot blinked before shrugging.
"As good as I can I suppose." At that Leo nodded in return and took a breath rubbing his hands together.
"Anyways, I best head on and see if Joey is alright..." he said pointing behind him, the bot nodded and Leo took a breath heading toward the hallway, only to freeze as Steven spoke up.
"...where is the Puppet?" The question made everyone in the room pause. Foxy looked around before going over to his box and opening it up, the others waited.
He turned to them and shrugged, "not in 'ere." The fox informed and Leo frowned looking around.
"I mean...he could be anywhere." He muttered before pausing and wetting his lips.
Did he find Scott?
"I'll...I'll uh, be right back." He informed, before hurrying off to the office. He ignored their gazes upon him.
Once back at the office he took a breath and leaned inside, opening his mouth to tell Scott he needed to hide, only to find no one in there. That made him take a deep breath and nod to himself before stepping inside and looking around. Only for him to step on the demolished bits of the phone.
The guard lifted his foot and stepped back before crouching down. He had never asked Scott what happened here. He was sure it was a accident, but still that was going to be hard to explain that their phone was destroyed.
Leo was about to stand and go find Scott when something blinking caught his eye. He turned his attention toward it and moved pieces aside gingerly before he spotted the offender.
It was a small rectangular object, it had strange wiring all over the surface and was very thin. With a bit of a struggle he picked it up and took a closer look. It was odd, was this what was in phones?
And why was it blinking red?
"Leo?" A familiar voice made him jump and turn to look, it was Freddy, the bear was holding a platter with several cupcakes atop it.
"Oh hey Freddy." He muttered before taking a breath and getting up, he placed the strange chip thing in his pocket and looked at the tray. "That for Joey then?" The bear looked at him and he nodded to the cupcakes, the animatronic looked down and seemingly just remembered that they were there.
"Oh! Yes, these, yes they are for her." He then looked around curiously, "where is she?"
"Er...I'm not sure actually." He muttered rubbing the back of his head. "I'll have to check...Acid may have moved her." The bear nodded and then paused.
"I don't trust that man." The predator voiced, and Leo turned to look at him, lifting an eyebrow.
"Any particular reason?"
"...something about him, seems...off." That was muttered softly, and Leo opened his mouth, only for the accused man to appear at the other door to the office.
"Leo, I moved Joey to the main room. I put her tools in parts and service." The man claimed, and by his tone Leo got the feeling that the tools he was referencing was actually Scott.
The guard nodded and took a breath, "good...good." He turned to Freddy, "why don't you take those to her with Acid? I'm going to grab something I left in Joey's toolbox." The bear nodded and stepped aside as Leo went past him and to the back room. He glanced over his shoulder, but only found Acid walking away with the bear, the man turned around and gave him a thumbs up with a grin that Leo could only awkwardly nod back at.
The he shook his head as he turned away and headed into the room leaning in and looking around.
"Scott?" It was a whisper, but audible enough. There were several beats of silence before movement to his left caught his attention. Turning to look the guard blinked at the sight of Scott crouched over something…
Something with black legs….
"Uh...Scott? Is...is that…?" He wet his lips trailing off, the rabbit snapped his head up and looked at Leo before down at the Puppet, realizing how it looked the rabbit man got up and backed away.
His eyes were wide and he took hard pants.
"I'm sorry Leo...this...this isn't what it looks like I swear! I came in here to hide just as you asked and then out of nowhere this thing jumped me. He started screaming things but I couldn't even understand what he was saying. I...I didn't know if he was going to dismantle me...I...I got scared and pushed him away..." he looked at his hands and took a hard breath backing away. "Oh...oh **** what have I done..." his voice grew strained and stressed and Leo immediately went over to him, getting between him and the fallen Puppet.
"Hey! Hey...hey look at me." The guard ordered and drew the attention of his rabbit companion. "Did you mean to hurt him?" He asked, praying the answer was no.
Scott pulled back slightly, "what? No! No of course not! I didn't...I didn't think I would be that strong! I can barely walk! How...how..." he stammered out before holding his head. "****it! They are going to hate me now! ****!" He swore, and Leo took a breath looking back at the Puppet and then to Scott, with a breath the guard grabbed his hands and pulled them from his head. The animatronic man lifted his eyes to him.
"Hey...don't unwind on me. We'll figure it out alright? Has anyone else seen? Acid? Joey?" At that he shook his head and Leo nodded with a breath glancing around the room. "Okay...there is a lot of stuff in here. Something could've fallen on him. Knocked him out." He turned back to Scott and took a breath, "they never have to know it was you."
The rabbit lifted his head and shifted, "are you sure you are okay with lying to them?" He paused and looked to the side before back to Leo. "I don't want to come between you and them." The hare voiced softly, Leo however waved a hand dismissively.
"Don't worry, I doubt you will be the thing that causes problems between us." Scott shifted before nodding.
"Okay, I'll follow your lead."
Bonnie was sitting on the edge of the stage looking over everyone in the room. The toys were growing concerned with the absence of the Puppet and even Steven had started fidgeting nervously.
He wished Leo was here, or at the very least, present with them. What was the point of him staying if he was just going to hide away in the back?
The hare understood wanting to be alone, and away for a bit, but wasn't this excessive? Why did Leo have to be constantly hiding away?
It couldn't be because he was still unnerved about being around them...right? They had moved past that a long time ago!
So why?
The rabbit would've continued to speculate, but then he realized how stupid he was being, he should just go ask Leo what was gong on-
His train of thought was disrupted at a light rapping on the glass doors.
All of the animatronics looked over, likely hoping it was Enix.
But it was not.
There was a man, he was in a red hoodie, his hood casting shadows over his face, but evidence of a beard was catching the light of the newly awakened sun.
Auburn, similar to Leo's hair, but softer in coloration rather then the intensity that Leo had in his.
Everyone froze, and Bonnie hesitated before looking at Acid…but the man had vanished.
Of course.
"Freddy! What do we do?" Chica asked scooting closer to the bear. Said predator had his brow furrowed staring at the man.
"Someone needs to go get Leo." He voiced, and Steven, who was closest to the hallway nodded.
"I'll go fetch him." With barely any movement on his part he slipped into the hallway while they all tried their best to stay still and not look at the stranger.
Not that he was looking at them anyways.
He seemed to be debating whether or not to walk away. They grew hopeful as he started to head away, but then he would stop, shake his head, set his shoulders and return.
This was repeated four times while Steven was gone.
"Leo? Leo, there is someone at the door. Can you come and get rid of them?" Steven asked as he made his way down the hallway, where had the guard said he would be?
Did he say at all?
"Leo?" He tried again, half debating turning around and getting rid of the guy himself. However, Leo's voice made him hesitate.
"Just stay in hiding alright? I will take care of everything." Those words made the blue bunny pause and wait by the door a moment, but there was no more dialogue exchanged. Then the next moment Leo walked out. His back was to Steven so the rabbit moved away from the wall and waited.
The guard took a breath after shutting the door and turned around to head down the hall, but that action was prevented by Steven's presence.
The guard jumped and jerked back with a gasp.
"Steven! Where did you come from?" He demanded and the hare raised an eyebrow.
"I'll tell you, if you tell me who you are hiding." The counter made Leo pause and look up at him.
"M...my friend." He stammered out, and the rabbit couldn't help but raise his eyebrow even more.
"You're friend? And who might that be?" He asked.
"...his name is Bob." The guard blurted out, and Steven gazed at him.
"...Bob."
"Yes...his name is Bob." The small man shifted and looked to the side before back at the blue bunny. "...he is my imaginary friend."
"...imaginary friend." The hare repeated, and Leo paused as if mentally confirming and then nodded firmly.
"...yes."
"Okay...well why does Bob need to hide?" He asked, and Leo took a breath and crossed his arms.
"What is this? An interrogation?" The guard demanded and Steven gazed at him blinking.
"What? No of course not-"
"Well good then!" Crossing his arms he huffed a breath and raised an eyebrow. "Now, what did you need me for?" He demanded, and the blue hare gazed down at him for a moment before mocking a breath.
"Well, there is someone at the door, we don't recognize them. I was closest to the hallway so I came to get you." He informed and Leo's brow furrowed.
"It isn't one of the employees?" But the hare shook his head at the question. The guard hmphed before taking a breath. "Okay, I'll take care of it." He headed down the hallway only to freeze in place and turn back around. "Um...talking with Bob distracted me." He wet his lips, "the Puppet is hurt."
That made the rabbit's eyes widen, "what?!" He bolted for the parts and service room, Leo hesitated a moment before hurrying in after him.
Steven came in and looked around, only to find the Puppet under a pile of tools and the table they were once on. The guitarist ran over and started pulling things off him.
"What happened?!" He asked, taking the items off his comrade.
"I don't know, I came in here and everything was on top of him. I tried to move it, but it was practically impossible." He paused and looked at his arms, "I don't exactly have the muscle build to do that..." the guard trailed, but the rabbit was hardly paying mind.
He freed his comrade and scooped him up. Cradling him he turned to Leo.
"Is Joey awake?" The guard only shook his head, with a mock breath the blue bunny hurried into the hallway to o to the main room. If he could find the mechanic then she could fix him.
He was sure of it.
Leo watched him go and bit his lip nervously, was it wrong of him? Did he...no, no, it wasn't Scott's fault, but of course they would blame him. This was to protect his friend. This was the right thing to do.
Leo needed to find the time to properly introduce Scott into the group, when he was fixed. When he didn't look like a walking corpse.
Even if he actually was, appearances did matter after all.
The guard hopped from foot to foot and took a breath turning to head back into parts and service. He needed to check on Scott briefly and then go into the main room to get rid of the stranger.
Geez, when did his life get so complicated?
The guard took a step to head inside of the room only to freeze when he heard a rumble in his abdominal area. He blinked and looked down staring at his stomach.
What...the ****...
"Well, someone is certainly hungry." The sudden voice made him jump and look up at the offender, Scott leaned out of the parts and service room gazing down at Leo, and in spite of his perpetual grin, Leo somehow felt like the deceased man was smirking.
"...what?" The man asked incredulously, Scott tilted his head gazing at him.
"Hungry, when you want food?" He explained, but Leo gazed at him for a moment before looking down at his stomach.
"But...I don't get hungry..." he trailed, and jumped with a sudden hand on his shoulder. The guard looked up at him.
"But this is good, this means you are eating and getting healthier." The man said, and was Leo mistaken, or did he hear excitement in the ghostly voice of the animatronic man.
"Uh...yeah? I guess..." he trailed before taking a breath and looking behind him. "I have to go deal with some guy who showed up." He turned back to the bunny, "will you be alright by yourself for awhile?" If the bunny had eyebrows, Leo was sure he would raise one.
"I'm a full grown adult Leo, I'm pretty sure I can take care of myself." At that the guard nodded with a bit of a bashful grimace.
"Yeah...that's true. Sorry." With a breath, the guard shifted from foot to foot and pointed behind him, "okay...well, I'm going to go..." he trailed and then, not seeing or hearing protest from the decaying rabbit, the guard nodded to himself and went to the main room.
He glanced back only once, and saw the rabbit turn and head back into the room.
Leo tried to ignore the question in his mind of how quickly Scott made it look like an accident.
He worked at Freddy's...he was an employee for a long time. Of course he would know how to make things look like accidents.
But still...even now, that bothered him to a degree.
Pushing that aside, the guard took a breath and headed into the room, the animatronics were gathered around the Puppet and Steven, Leo headed over to them first.
"How is he doing?" Pushing past Bonnie, he got a look for himself.
Overall his condition seemed fine, he was looking normal. His normal spindle form was fine, there was some dust on the course material that covered up his endoskeleton within, and there were smudges on the normally clean and white mask. On said mask was also a single crack, that came from the top of the left corner all the way down to the right bottom jaw. The constantly grinning face however, seemed more blank then usual, probably because the normal white pinprick eyes were no longer visible.
He was lifeless in laying there, the guard had to swallow a bit and look away. It was difficult to see these guys as robots sometimes, but seeing the still form of the Puppet brought that reality back to him.
"I don't know...his system is different from ours, I've worked on Bonnie and Chica's wiring before...but he has a entirely different system." Freddy muttered and Leo glanced up at him before taking a breath and looking over at the door.
As Steven claimed, there was a man there, he was sitting with his back to the restaurant, red hoodie lit up in the light of the morning sun.
Leo could already tell that this guy was taller then him just by the length of his torso.
With a breath he headed over adjusting his tie and shirt to look a tad bit more professional.
In one sudden move he flung the door open causing the man to flinch violently and look up at him.
At sight of his face, Leo was half tempted to shut the door again and lock it for good measure.
Crazy.
That was the only word that came to mind as he stared down at their unwelcome guest. He was haggard, dark circles that while rivaled, didn't match the ones under Leo's own eyes.
He had a rough beard which didn't at all look like it had been kept up with. His eyes, blue and wide, with an unholy amount of terror that almost made the orbs tremble themselves. Leo gazed down at him in still silence, the man gazed up at him and the guard could just make out the sight of his hands trembling from where they peaked out of his sleeves.
"C...can I help you?" The guard internally cursed the stutter as the words fell out of his mouth clumsily.
Well, there goes any sense of intimidation.
The man blinked, slowly seeming to calm down and after a moment, he looked away and got to his feet. Leo took a step back and internally cursed the height of this man.
It was so frustrating, because normally this crazed man would be considered short, but even he was tall in comparison to Leo.
"...i...is this...is this Freddy's?" The man asked in a husky whisper, his voice course and rough, almost like someone had rammed a handful of nails down his throat.
But of course Leo also recognized it another way.
It sounded like the man's voice was hoarse.
Hoarse from screaming.
The guard wet his lips pushing aside the thought and taking a deep breath.
"Yes, this is Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, we don't open up until twelve this afternoon." He emphasized the last part in hopes the man would get the hint and leave.
His hopes were dashed.
The man instead turned to him and shoved his shaking hands in his pockets. He gave a side eye glance at the building's interior before taking a deep and strong breath that the guard concluded was a bolstering of his strength.
"I...I'd...I'd like to apply for the evening guard position." He voiced, setting his shoulders, Leo however could only stare at him blinking.
"Huh?"
So, thoughts?
What did you think of William's interactions with Leo? What of Acid's deception? Do you think he and his father will be able to hold up this charade? Do you think the Puppet will be okay? What of this new man? Any thoughts?
I'd love to hear what you think!
